It was kinda painful to find one, and confusing, as many were for the Paperwhite model, and a bunch were mixed in. I saw some people's comments and posts here asking for a Kindle case, etc., as not too long ago, I was in the same boat as most. So I have made an Amazon public wishlist where you can view the curated list of cases for the Kindle 8th gen basic or Kindle 10th gen basic (2019 model). Things to know before purchase(don't skip this): kindle 8th gen basic(model-SY69JL) and 10th gen basic(2019 model-J9G29R) are same size or dimension, so no issue. tried and tested, fits perfectly, and is interchangeable with each other. To find the model no. Refer to the second image, it's probably the first thing on the left side bottom, on the back of the Kindle. Automatic sleep-awake function on lid close and open will work only on the 10th gen basic model and not on the 8th gen basic because these cases are actually made for the 10th gen, so inside the front cover, there is a magnet that triggers the hall-effect sensor, which is used for that auto function. The placement of the sensor inside 8th gen basic is different than 10th gen basic, so of course that will not work (for that, you have to exclusively look for 8th gen cases, which are not available in India. Saw one but was priced at 2k with no reviews). But there is a workaround a person on Reddit has figured out, I will link that post too. This is different from the case magnet, which keeps the lid closed. Every case here, I think, comes with the case lid close magnet, not the same as the hall effect triggering one. This is for BASIC Kindle 8th and 10th gen(2019 model) only, not PAPERWHITE Kindle, seen many people who are confused about those for some reason. paperwhite have total different dimensions from these basic ones. Other than these 2 generation being the same dimensions and the case being interchangeable, I am not sure it will work with other Kindles except these two. Check the review before buying. I have just created a specific list of these 2 models, so people don't have to look anywhere else, as I have tried that before; this is as good as it gets in terms of available ones in India online(not sure about offline markets or sellers). I am not getting any commission; it is not an affiliate. Doing this just for the love of the game, and maybe future Kindle buyers can find the post helpful and get cases for their Kindle. Don't accidentally purchase the 10th-gen Paperwhite one, not in the list, but available on Amazon with the same designs because it's by the same company. Please check and confirm your address before purchasing, although my Amazon account is new and I have not added an address or personal details, but I don't know how the public wish list on Amazon works. Hi! (First of all English is not my main language so excuse me for any mistakes) Sooo, I've got into reading since the beginning of this year, woohoo! So far I've been mainly buying second hand books, but I was thinking about getting a kindle for a while, and I was eyeing the matcha one which was the most affordable for me. I told my friend and he gave me his Kindle Paperwhite 10th generation which he got like 3 years ago from his work and hasn't used much, so it's basically new. I've already saved a few accessories I wanted to buy like a case, a pop socket etc. And I just wanted to know before buying all these, how is this kindle compared to the "new ones"? Is it still worth getting a newer generation? I don't think there are much differences and I can't say I really have any standards since I've never read on an e-reader before. I couldn’t help myself and I bought a new Kindle, yesterday, which arrived today. The Kindle Paperwhite Signature 12th generation. I previously had the Kindle Paperwhite 10th generation, if I’m not mistaken. I couldn’t even pull up the item description on Amazon, so it’s not available for purchase anymore, probably because it was so old. I noticed immediately that the print is much clearer and page turning is much faster. The screen is much more responsive. But I was using an older version and I would expect that it has been improved in a number of ways. I bought the jade color, but I have a black case on it (the plant based leather version), so it’s hiding the jade color. So I recently replaced the battery in my kindle paperwhite 10th edition. While that when smoothly, getting off the back case did not. I damaged some of the screen seal and was wondering if anyone can recommend something to use to reseal it? To clarify, this is a Kindle Paperwhite 10th Generation. I have had it for a few years and adore it. UPDATE: I found a sealant called T-7000 for cell phones. I will update after I have tried using it on my kindle. Hello, guys. Recently my old Kindle (10th generation) started to go downhill, so I’m thinking about switching. The options I am considering are Kindle paperwhite 5, Amazon kindle 2022 or Kobo. Which one would you recommend? And is it possible to transfer my kindle library to Kobo in case I decide to go that route? And which one provides best balance between price, services and performance? Important notes: I’m currently learning Japanese and so having a big library of books around JLPT N4-N3 level and being able to easily switch between country stores/accounts (fuck Amazon in this regard) is important. Tldr i need a new case/holder, recos? Model is 2018 paperwhite 10th gen. I know this is a bit insane but clearly at some point I lost patience and glued a too-large case onto my kindle. It was insanely satisfying to finally unstick it - I didn't realise how HARD that double sided wall hanging tape sticks, or whatever it was that I used 😂😂😂 (like it's literally been glued in for years 😂😂😂) Anyway, I'm looking at an origami style folding case as I like to read on my side when I lie in bed. Update: Managed to find one! Thank you everyone who commented for your help. Hello, seeing if anybody here knows anywhere online I could get a case for my Kindle described in the title. Already struck out once and did a return. It's 6.8" and perhaps I'm in even more trouble since I bought it in Dublin, Ireland when I forgot my other one (that's how addicted I am, lol). I can't find if there are specifications I need to be looking for as to a case of this edition but sold in Dublin, but is that something to keep in mind? No idea how I'd fine that lol. Doubt I could find one in a physical store, plus I don't have a car anyway. Also a little wary of "universal" cases as I do like it to fit for my specific device. Anyone have anywhere to point me to find a case? If I can't find a case, it'll just be an excuse to buy a newer Kindle haha. The pink case was taking longer to get to him though. I dumped him a couple weeks into January after he bored me to death for a NYE vacation and on my phone call saying I need to take care of my mental health and shouldn't be in a relationship, I graciously offered to return his generous gifts since no boyfriend had really done that for me before. I can remember when the iPad mini was released, the selection of cases were abundant. One of them had a slew of clear color folio covers with the flap part matching with said color. For instance, I chose the transparent orange folio. (Example Above). To make a long story short, has anyone seen these or similar cases floating around for kindles? I love my decal and stickers but I also want front coverage. I used a bit of my stimulus to buy a Kindle paper white. I’m SO. Excited. But I want a case. It doesn’t have to be from Amazon - it can be from anywhere. Some things that might help you find me something: I love pink and teal and sparkly stuff is cool. Harry Potter and things fantastical. I like girly things but also worn looking things like old leather journals. Oh and I love Supernatural and elephants. Feel free to ask me any questions.
