Need backsplash ideas
I am in desperate need of ideas for a backsplash in my new kitchen. We’ve chosen amazing quartzite called Blue Louise that is going to look great with eggshell cabinets for the perimeter and teal cabinets for the island. However, I am struggling to find a backsplash that will complement the quartzite, not compete with it. Could anyone provide an idea?

Backsplash Ideas
Getting to the end of our kitchen remodel (DIY) Still need to install the cabinet colored range hood and the last upper to the left of the range. wife and I disagree on what we should do for a backsplash. I think we should do something like the vertical tiles and the wife wants the glass white subway tiles, examples of each attached. Which does reddit think is better? submitted by /u/KvotheSM to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

Is it gross to use vintage bathroom tile as kitchen backsplash?
I scored some gorgeous vintage bathroom tile from FB marketplace. A ton of intact hexagons, squares and bullnose - plus they threw in the broken pieces too. (1st photo is and example of the type of tile, 2nd is the one piece I have inside rn). I got them with the idea using them for a kitchen backsplash. Is that an acceptable thing to do? They’ll obviously be cleaned but it it gross? I imagine they probably have lead but it’s not a surface we’re eating off. submitted by /u/capitolcraftsman to r/centuryhomes [link] [comments]

Kitchen Update Ideas - Red Birch Cabinets
My kitchen was built in 2006 and is in need of updating. The cabinets are custom solid red birch and I am of the generation which was scolded for painting solid wood. Any suggestions for updating the backsplash and floors and potentially countertops (currently Volga Blue granite) while leaving the cabinets as is to make this more modern looking? I have zero design sense. Thank you in advance. submitted by /u/BossApart7086 to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

1970’s kitchen update ideas needed
Inherited wife’s grandparents home. The kitchen was her grandmother’s dream kitchen 1979. It’s still in immaculate condition. We’ve not made any changes in the 4 years we’ve been here as other projects took priority. So I’ve fallen in love with the orange Formica counters so they are staying. The cabinets are solid honey oak so they stay also but we want to change the stain and hardware. Also doing tile for the floor, new backsplash. The cabinets look much darker in the picture than they actually are What color stain, back splash ideas, tile flooring that you think would look good with the orange counters? Any ideas are welcome please submitted by /u/ChemicallyAlteredVet to r/Decorating [link] [comments]

Kitchen backsplash ideas that won’t date fast?
Looking for backsplash tile ideas that feel current but won’t scream “2024 trend” in a few years. Subway feels safe but boring, some patterned tiles feel risky. What backsplash choices have you seen age well? Update: I ordered a few backsplash tile samples (including some handcrafted options) to see how much variation there actually is in person, way different than photos. submitted by /u/RenderToReality to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

Any ideas on what I can do Modernize this kitchen
Im looking to modernize this kitchen on a budget. Im thinking of vinyl wrapping the countertops, painting the walls, removing the fake backsplash, but leaving these Brownish/Redish Cabinets. Any ideas on what color countertops and walls would make these Cabinets look decent (im not a fan of the color, but my old man doesn't want me to paint them). submitted by /u/Us3rn4m324 to r/Remodel [link] [comments]

Help me choose kitchen backsplash?
// Firstly please be gentle, i've never had a good eye for interior decorating. Secondly, i hope it's ok i used AI to visualize the results. Hey all. Doing up the kitchen and we've pretty much chosen everything except for the backsplash. Fell in love with 1 (the dark green) BUT was advised that it was not practical because of the many grout lines (more maintenance required). 2 has the same effect visually but they are more practical. These tiles are actually 60x30cm, so there will be less grout lines. Sadly they didn't come in the green. 3 is the biggest tile, 60x60, most practical, but somehow i felt i preferred glossy tiles (3 is matte). 4 is 20x20 but i felt the pattern added an interesting touch. Also matte. AI botched 5 but you get the idea, haha. It has a personal touch to it. The pattern reminded me of the pattern on our wedding cards and door gifts 10 years ago. But felt it was "too much" so wondered if we could dial it down by alternating with the white tiles. Again, these are 20x20 so the grout lines are a concern. Also matte. The last one is basically using the same material and design as the countertop, to me visually looks the "cleanest" but this option has an added cost. submitted by /u/Little_Caregiver_976 to r/HomeDecorating [link] [comments]

Backsplash ideas? I would so appreciate it! I keep doing mockups and am really struggling.
We have a really small kitchen, so we opted to keep the white shaker cabinet look and upgrade from the blue (you can see in the second photo as we haven’t switched our island yet) counters to this nice off white gray- and gold-veined quartz. We’ve been planning a white kitchen with black and terracotta accents, and I plan to add some green plants to lean into the more natural vibe, but for the life of us we can’t figure out what kind of a backsplash will look best. Should we just do a white subway tile? It just feels so boring! But maybe that’s on us for the rest of the design. submitted by /u/butwhatififly_ to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

Any ideas on what we could reasonably do to our kitchen that doesn’t include removing the granite, knocking out all the cabinets, and changing the layout yet?
We bought a flipped 70’s split level home in 2021. Didn’t move in until 2022. Anyways it was super clean but a very builder grade, millennial-grey house. We are 100% DIY, my husband and my uncle are able to do basically everything without help. Anyways, a full kitchen reno is 3-5 years out since we’re already mid-reno on our guest bath/laundry room (it flooded) and also dealing with mold remediation our two upstairs bathrooms and primary bedroom, renovating them at the same time. Then going to start IVF, who knows how long that’ll take. So, we’re focused on those projects right now and the kitchen has to wait, but I’d like to warm it up and add some interest meantime. Struggling on where to start. Here’s what I CANNOT do for a while: - replace the granite - change the layout - replacing major appliances I’m replacing the cheap matte-black faucet (it’s chipping) with a polished nickel one… Kohler Artifacts pull down or a Kingston brass heritage faucet. Thinking of removing the microwave and its upper cabinet to build a painted cabinet-style range hood (not the Pizza Hut kind) with proper ventilation bc right now it’s a MESS. The microwave doesn’t do anything lol. Maybe some small decorative border tiles lining the rim the range hood? I like Tiles of Ezra’s “Flor Azul” or “Tulip Azul” border tiles. Open to changing the subway tile backsplash too. Will cover that giant thing above the fridge with another cafe curtain (I make sourdough bread and sell it so that’s what all that junk is). Open to painting the cabinets…prob the lowers? Idk. Suggestions? Cabinet hardware recs that go with polished nickel? I want to bring in personality and the ones we have now are so plain. I also hate the counter top appliances everywhere but can’t think of a solution. The floors are staying for now, but the long-term plan is natural-oak light-wash knotty engineered hardwood. Walls will be painted (some are we just aren’t done) with Sherwin Williams Bohemian Lace. Maybe wallpaper somewhere, suggestions or opinions on that? Yes, the pendants are ugly and the light above the dining table is awful. Will be replacing those but idk with what, yet. Side note…I garden and it’s a NIGHTMARE bringing everything in with the current split sink we have but it’s hard to find a replacement bc of the sizing. Basically looking for ideas to add warmth and personality without doing a full knock down type of reno yet within the parameters I laid out. Open to different ideas than the ones I’ve disclosed. Maybe staying below $3-5k for now? Ultimately I want some warmth and to be able to feel better in my kitchen. submitted by /u/Charming_Debt_289 to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

8 years later, it finally feels complete!
I moved into my partner’s place which was very ~bachelor pad~ in 2017 and have been updating, renovating, tweaking, redecorating, and practicing my interior design creativity over the years in every single room. While I never feel like it’s fully finished, I’ve poured so much love and energy into it that it finally feels like “me” and wanted to share! We rent but are very lucky to have open minded landlords. Some things we have done: -Painted every room, some with lime wash replaced every ceiling light fixture & added medallions added picture molding and painted closet doors, and added vintage hardware replaced door knobs redid kitchen backsplash tile replaced kitchen sink and faucet new bathroom vanity added wainscoting and wallpaper to the hallway added brass hardware to kitchen cabinets … among many other things! Ideas for my budget kitchen refresh?
Hi all! Looking to crowd source some fun ways to jazz up this kitchen in as small of a budget as possible ($6k or so). Ignoring the obvious AI mishaps, here’s what I’m thinking. Paint cabinets and convert to soft close hinges Replace counters and backsplash Replace lighting Replace faucet Possibly removing the cabinet and microwave and adding a pretty range hood instead The floor tile is staying and I like green with that beige well enough. But suggestions on cabinet colors are welcome! submitted by /u/CupAffectionate444 to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

Had our backsplash and countertops redone… but something isn’t hitting right.
Hi!! So we bought a 1962 bungalow and are trying to update it a little without losing the charm, so we’re trying some MCM style with bright pops of colour! This kitchen was super outdated so I used some inspo pics to pick colours, went for it, and now… it just doesn’t feel right. Where do I go from here? Open to any and all ideas. I’m so bad at this and feel like I made a wrong decision. Ps. Our tile is older style white and grey. It’s nice enough, no complaints there but open to a rug if that will help?
