Before and after kitchen remodel!
I'm super excited to share my kitchen remodel which we JUST finished (the white is BEFORE). Hope ya'll like it :) UPDATE: Thanks for all the kind comments! Many have asked about the materials, so here's a summary: - The cabinets are IKEA with custom fronts by a company called Bofronts. I did not have a very good experience with them however, so I wouldn't 100% recommend. There are other companies out there that do custom fronts as well. Also, given my experience, I think it would have been worth it to pay a bit more for fully custom cabinets. - The countertop is Dekton and the color is Rem. So far, 100% recommend. - The floors: https://www.tilelook.com/pastorelli/colorful-71e65513-8079-4bea-9ec0-848541f45913/tiles/cf-colorful-cf-ocean-60x120-rett-p010496 these tiles comes in 24x24, I bought blue and beige and had them cut to 12x12. - The stools are paperclip stools by Amisco. - The wall sconces are Luminaire Authentik submitted by /u/Glum_Consequence_470 to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

Remodeled our original 60s kitchen
We started a whole house remodel this January and finished with the kitchen since we lived in the house during construction. Yes, it tested every member of the families insanity including the dogs. Had to break the foundation and install new plumbing, electrical, hvac, structural beams, you name it. Did some of the work myself including all the design. Incorporated a hidden pantry which is my wife's favorite part of the house. This is my first time posting here so not sure what else to say but hope you guys like the finished work. submitted by /u/Far-Education5778 to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

What's a realistic budget for a full kitchen remodel?
We want to redo our kitchen, but we honestly have no idea what a normal budget looks like. We've seen everything from $20k to $80k+ for a mid-sized kitchen, which is kind of terrifying. We haven't started yet, but we're trying to figure out what we can DIY, what we should leave to a contractor, and where it actually makes sense to spend the money. For example, we cook a lot, so ventilation matters. I'm eyeing the Arspura P1 hood that's around $1k on sale, but I don't know if that's a reasonable splurge in a mid-range reno or if that money should go toward cabinets/counters instead. If you've renovated a kitchen before, where did you invest and where did you save without regrets? Any tips would really help before we get started. submitted by /u/Vicente_Neto2002 to r/homeowners [link] [comments]

Our DIY-heavy kitchen remodel on our 100+ year old house
We’re ~8 months post kitchen remodel and I figured it was finally time to share photos and thoughts with perspective and months of use on our side. We did a ton of work ourselves to save money, from plumbing to electric to wall demolition and building a new archway. We also hand painted our backsplash tile, handmade the Roman shade for the window, and we stripped and restored the original back door and kitchen window trim. We hired out the cabinets (the most expensive piece, but worth it given our uneven old walls) and counter cutting / install. The counters are a blue quartzite, which I’m so glad we went with over a plain marble. The hardware is vintage unlacquered brass bought in bulk, used, on eBay because handle / knob prices humbled us real quick. We saved a ton of money and the aging fit the age of our house better anyway. My favorite choice by far was going with a dinning nook over an island / peninsula with bar stools. We find it much cozier and more inviting for sitting down and eating meals vs grabbing and going, and it better maximized our square footage and gave us extra storage space. Bring back dining nooks!! We agonized over every detail so thankfully there are no big regrets, but the only tiny thing I don’t like as much as I expected is the pull-out spice cabinet next to the stove. After months of using it, I think I would find it more functional to have all the spices laid out in a drawer or on a shelf. That’s all, but happy to answer any questions if you’re embarking on your own remodel journey! submitted by /u/Fuzzy-Sort809 to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

Kitchen remodel before and after
Hey everyone! I’ve been lurking in this community for a while, soaking up tons of ideas and inspiration for my own kitchen remodel. Now that it’s finally done, I wanted to give back a little and share what we’ve accomplished! We started with an old 1990s kitchen, and over the last four or four and a half months, we’ve transformed it completely. We raised the ceiling, so now it’s much higher and more open. We also changed the size and level of the window, added custom cabinets topped with porcelain, moved the water lines around, and even relocated the fridge to install a built-in one. I’ll drop some before-and-after photos in the comments so you can see the journey. Thanks again to everyone here for all the inspiration—hope you enjoy the final result! As for me I would never start a new kitchen remodel , this was too stressful. It feels like it is easier to buy a house with a new kitchen than to remodel existing one . submitted by /u/Rare-Mathematician97 to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

From Honey Oak to Totally Broke.... Our kitchen remodel
A four month project from a pretty small honey oak kitchen work failing appliances to a kitchen with selections that probably nobody else would ever choose. That's okay, we love it and nobody else has to. - Rift cut White Oak flush inset cabinets - slate floors - soapstone countertops - natural copper sink and cabinet hardware - mismatched appliances. BlueStar stove, miele steam oven, Sub-Zero fridge. No microwave. We still need to get some new stools and some other finishing touches. We didn't do anything with the honey oak trim because it goes through the ENTIRE horse and there is no good way to transition it. Living with our remodeled kitchen for a year: here’s the honest review
It’s been a year since we fully renovated our early-2000s kitchen, and I wouldn’t change a thing. A few highlights after living with it: • Glass rinser on the sink: Absolute game-changer, especially since we had a baby this year. Perfect for bottles and daily use. • Paper towel pull-out: Keeps things tucked away and is still one of my favorite features. • Leathered Taj Mahal countertops and backsplash with shelf: They’ve held up beautifully, feel amazing to the touch, and still make me smile every day. • Seating on two sides of the counter: Makes hosting easy and has turned the kitchen into the ultimate gathering spot. We’ve loved every bit of it, and it’s holding up wonderfully. If you’re curious about any details, feel free to ask! submitted by /u/loveofweb to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

1985 —> 2025 Before & After
Finally finished the last touches on our kitchen remodel and I am so thrilled with how it turned out. Bought the house earlier this year and the kitchen was in perfect on fine physical shape, just dated. Originally planned to keep it and wait but needed to re-do the floors throughout which led to a domino effect. Had my contractor gut it, and had the whole kitchen designed with Ikea. I was skeptical but so glad we went this way. It was the only way we could afford to do what we did and the kitchen is very high quality. I am very impressed in the end. Very solid and the hardware is top notch. Was great getting to have someone come out and measure everything to be able for to build a digital kitchen that we could design around. Loved getting to customize every inch of this kitchen - a few of my favorite things: built in dishwasher, primarily drawers throughout, and our hideaway coffee nook in the pantry (previously no pantry in the kitchen). All cabinets and appliances are ikea, quartz from a local place, lights from Menards. Curious what ya’ll think. submitted by /u/Substantial-Virus228 to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

My new, warm kitchen after the remodel from hell!
My house was built in the 1960s and I believe the cabinets were original from them with updated countertops and backsplash at some point. The house had a living/dining space added on in the last 20-30 years so it was an awkward space and opening up this wall was a game changer. When I first moved in, I painted the existing kitchen while I saved up and planned for the true remodel. It was truly the remodel from hell (pipes bursting causing flooding, no power for three months, a break in, contractor bankruptcy…) but we’re finally done and I’m in love! White oak veneer cabinets from IKEA to match my white oak herringbone floors and Taj Mahal quartzite make this the warm kitchen of my dreams! submitted by /u/wetheliving to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

Kitchen remodel sold our home the next day.
So we were struggling to sell our home early this year trying to move to a different state. All of the feedback on our showings was that our home was great but just needed some updates so decided to take matters into our own hands: Upgrade list: -Paint to remove god awful pink from when we bought the house (whole house got this treatment) - luxury vinyl plank flooring after demoing the linoleum - butcher block countertop (cut, routed edge, stained and sealed) -farmhouse sink -tile backsplash -knotty pine doors to replace hollow core/sliding doors. Overall materials cost about $4,000 with another $1000 is new tools I needed. Realtor told me this job in our area would have cost ~40-50k. After we finished, we sold the house for over asking the first day it was on the market in March. Hopefully this is an inspiration post for others! submitted by /u/SleepyBearStella to r/DIY [link] [comments]
