magnesium supplementation liberated me from old suffering but pushed me into a new suffering.
For years of my adolescent life, i never understood how important micro nutrients and minerals are, It was all about macro-nutrients especially protein. I used to workout a lot cause i thought working out would cure my fibromyalgia like symtoms like brain fog, feeling tired even after lot of sleep, neck and trapezius muscle discomfort(not painful just aching), heaviness and aching of legs. But i didn't knew working out actually made it worse cause i was loosing too many important minerals and one of it was magnesium. I saw Dr berg video on youtube and took magnesium glycinate and years of aching of legs and body pains gone in half an hour, I could feel my heavylegs actually flying. But right from second day, i got these weird symptoms where i felt this tingling or aches in blood vessels of my fingers which I'm unable to describe. Also got the same kind of ache in left side of my neck(like nerve irritation) and i could feel it reaching my jaw and then my teeth nerves. and i also felt the nerves in the back of my left eye irritated like a slight itch which i can't reach with my fingers(cause the itch is literally at the back of my eye). Also get aching in bridge of my left foot, and nerve irritation in left side of my penis shaft. I didn't understand what was happening. It actually felt like a completely new disease from earlier fibromyalgia. Also i felt very drowsy throughout the day after taking the supplement, so i stopped taking it for few days, after that i felt normal without any fibromyalgia and no drowsyness, but after few days everything gets back to where it was, fibromyalgia, heavyness in legs etc... I don't understand how to avoid drowsiness, the aching of fingers, jaw, foot and neck, eye and penile nerve irritation while on magnesium supplementation. Taking the supplement cause the symptoms to occur almost immediately and the second day they subside after stoping the supplement...for 2 or 3 days i feel normal and later i get back fibromyalgia...and the cycle continues with supplementation Does anybody has the same experience as I have? Is the effect of vasodialation actually causing this? Do i continue using magnesium untill all these symptoms subside? Or am i overdosing on magnesium? PS: where i said blood vessels, it is actually blood vessels and where i said nerves, it is nerves though I don't for surely know if this categorisation is true. I'm probabluly confused. I also took, multivitamin tablet, zinc piccolinate with copper, vitamin d3, vitamin k2, and teseted my d3 which came out from deficient to normal and stopped using them frequently. submitted by /u/Puzzleheaded-Pop6583 to r/Supplements [link] [comments]

Magnesium overdose to now
Hi. I posted on here back in January. I went through a horrible experience I will try and keep succinct here. For a year and a half, I took high dose magnesium. I took about 800 mg of elemental magnesium per day PLUS all that I got from my greens (I would make kale smoothies daily). I also took high dose vitamin D at around 15-20,000 per day along with K2 (mostly) Well, I always had good energy and no depression. Just always dealt with anxiety and easily activated nervous system. I also slept great. Well, back in November, I decided I wanted to lose ten pounds. So I dropped my calorie intake and therefore just dropped my dairy intake because I didn’t want to “use more calories” 🙄 spare the lashings. All of this is stupid on my part. Within three weeks of dropping all calcium intake, I began having bad reactions. Mind you, I had felt otherwise great and strong for a long time. My teeth started hurting horribly, I had terrible insomnia, my limbs would fall asleep easily, panic and anxiety were through the roof;…so what did I do? I upped my magnesium intake. At that point, I went like a week without sleep minus thirty minutes or an hour at night. I WAS TRIPPING OUT!!!!! Extreme insomnia and panic attacks I kept adding more magnesium and potassium powder (Dr Berg which contained more magnesium and1,000 mg potassium). I posted to this wonderful thread where one of the gods on here basically told Me I had textbook low calcium. So I followed their advice and quit all supplements immediately and started supplementing temporarily with calcium citrate. Oh my word, that saved my life. God bless the people who helped me. I stopped all magnesium and upped my calcium intake. I am now two months in and can’t believe it. I am sleeping great, good energy, calm as a cucumber and all is well. Until this last week. I don’t know what happened exactly but I started taking around 150-200 mg of mag glycinate alongside of the calcium citrate and then I started getting the anxiety and the burning sore muscles again. Even eating greens makes Me feel gross and anxious. My tongue starts to feel weird like a burning sensation. Almost as if my tongue’s releasing extra magnesium?? Infant know dude. My goal was to wean from 12 the calcium citrate and just take dairy at 1200 mg but when I tried that a couple of weeks ago, it felt like my body still needed the calcium because my sleep wasn’t great and my teeth started to hurt again. After being stable on it for six weeks straight. Now. I’m eight weeks in and tried taking the mag again and it’s just a misery all over again that I almost had forgotten about. The darkness is horrible whenever I take it. But I’m also freaking out about how everyone says calcium in supplement form is horrible for you. I need help. I did have my calcium checked via blood and it was not a two times. My D was very high at 124 back in January since I supplement so much. I stopped all of that but do still sunbathe and get a lot of sun that way. submitted by /u/Legitimate-Arm4320 to r/magnesium [link] [comments]

Collapsed after b12 only switch - suspecting MTHFR / slow and fast COMT. 4.5 years of success on methylated b complex. Seeking advice on genesight testing and iodine deficiency
TL;DR: After a 2020 Covid infection, I developed a severe B-deficiency that I successfully managed for 4.5 years with a methylated B-complex. In late 2024, I naively switched to only a B12 supplement and completely crashed. By Nov 2025, I hit a total physical collapse with DPDR, numb limbs, and adrenaline dumps. 5 weeks back on my full B-complex rebuild, my vision is coming back, the numbness is mostly gone, and I’m finally reconnecting with reality. Don’t skip your cofactors! Hi everyone! (24F) Sorry for the long post but I believe that I am struggling with a pretty severe b vitamin deficiency. I also suspect I’m an undermethylator because I have all the classic symptoms. For some background information, I got very sick with what I believe was Covid at the beginning of 2020. I was sick for about 4-5 weeks. When I came out of the sickness, I instantly became lactose intolerant. I used to have lactose all the time from yogurt, glasses of milk, cheese and cream in my coffee but I could no longer tolerate it. So I ended up cutting out all lactose from my diet. Within 3-4 months after doing that, I began experiencing alarming symptoms! My hands and feet went numb - I would touch my arm and I literally couldn’t feel it. I was also having out of body experiences where I felt completely disconnected from myself (depersonalization/derealization symptoms). I ended up going to the ER because these symptoms were so alarming and they were scaring me. Once I got there, the ER doctor asked me how my diet was. I ate very healthy and nutritious meals but I let him know that I cut out all dairy from my diet. He told me that it wouldn’t cause the symptoms I was experiencing and told me I probably just have anxiety… so I left feeling pretty defeated. During that time my family member told my aunt about my ER visit. I guess my aunt had just went vegan 5 weeks before this and was experiencing the same symptoms that I was but worse! She told me she couldn’t feel her limbs (like me) but also that she felt like she was going blind, especially while driving! So she went to the doctor and she told her it sounded like a b12 deficiency and she bought a fully methylated b complex and within 3 days, she was fine. I decided to take the b complex that she was taking, and within 2-3 days, I was back to myself! It was crazy! So I just assumed that because I was lactose intolerant, I will always need to take a b12 supplement. I was on that supplement for 4.5 years and it worked great for me! Around October 2024 I got off of the b complex and just bought a methylated b12 supplement from Thorne. I didn’t know anything about methylated vitamins or the other b vitamins - I naively thought I just needed a b12 supplement. I still felt good but my energy levels began to decrease. I found it harder to find the motivation to go to the gym and was sleeping a lot more and waking up still feeling tired. I was also dealing with some personal stressors that were separated from this deficiency. Regardless, by July I began experiencing that out of body feeling again. This was accompanied by many other symptoms such as: - brain fog / derealization, depersonalization - Unable to regulate emotions (like normal) - Sensory issues / not feeling touch - Numb hands and numb feet specifically toes and fingers - Short term memory loss - Headache (moderate) - Dizziness - Blurred vision and not being able to gauge distance - Dropping things from hands / not feeling things in hands - Mental health / leading to anxiety and depressive thoughts - Extreme fatigue - Muscle aches - Trouble with balance and coordination - Shortness of breath, especially with exerting force - Seeing floaters and sparkles in air - Tmj on left side / scalloped tongue - Loss of appetite/ acid reflux - Sensitivity to light - Ringing in ears - Trouble regulating body temperature and feeling more cold My family member told me I needed to go to the doctor because they were watching me go in a downward spiral for months. They told me they saw me doing everything I needed to do like working, going to school, cleaning my house but it took every ounce of energy out of me just to do these daily tasks. So at the end of September I made an appointment with my PCP to make sure everything was fine. I was concerned that I had low iron so I brought that up when talking to my PCP about this. They checked my ferritin (which was 72), so I knew that was in range and optimal. All of my other labs looked good so I was pretty confused as to why I felt this way. Then in October 2025, the symptoms I had been experiencing had been getting so much worse! Going into grocery stores with fluorescent lights was making me dizzy, driving became very difficult because there was too much to process for my brain and walking up stairs winded me! All of the symptoms were causing me so much anxiety and I had terrible ruminating thoughts about my health. I felt so disconnected from my body and my loved ones; I would look at myself in the mirror, and not recognize myself. My vision felt like there was a foggy glass around it. I ended up getting sick with a virus at the end of October and the shortness of breath was getting bad so I rushed to the ER and the doctor told me I had gotten pneumonia. I left with 100mg of doxycycline to be taken twice a day for 5 days. Doxycycline destroyed my stomach! I couldn’t keep any food down, just for Kaiser to call me and tell me that they sent my x ray to a lab and it turned out, I didn’t have pneumonia after all! So in November, I thought maybe I do just have anxiety and need to get help for it. Talk therapy and grounding techniques weren’t working, so I decided to find a psychiatrist at Kaiser and she prescribed me sertraline. I had never taken antidepressants before but was willing to try anything to alleviate these symptoms. The sertraline made everything way worse for me! I knew there was an adjustment period so I tried to stick it out but I was basically bed ridden. I was on 25mg for 10 days and then bumped it up to 50mg per my psychiatrists guidance. I was on Reddit one night and came across a post where someone was talking about feeling disconnected from their body but they took a hydroxy b12 because 40% of the population can’t convert the synthetic version of b12. Then I went back in my order history and found the b complex that I had been taking and saw it was fully methylated and that it wasn’t just a b12 but a complex of all the b’s. December: As I had been keeping in close contact with my psychiatrist I told her about the 2020 experience. She immediately jolted forward and told me I need to order a b12, b9 and b6 test from Kaiser. She told me that she believed “There was break in one my enzymes.” So I asked my PCP to order those tests for me. 12/4/25: B12: 831 (range: 200-900) B9: 9.2 B6: 40 (range: 30-125) I was still on sertraline at this time for about 4 weeks, but now I was on 50mg and was getting panic attacks. My psychiatrist told me to begin tapering off of it and that we needed to address the underlying health conditions going on first. She said that yes, people can experience numbness because of anxiety but usually there is a temporary break from it. The fact that I had been numb mentally, emotionally and physically 24/7 since July, concerned her. I did more research and wanted to have a homocysteine and MMA test ordered for me. So I met with my PCP and and read her my long list of symptoms. I also made sure to tell her that I had GERD as a baby and now as an adult, I have very low stomach acid. She told me that all of my b tests were in range so she would not be ordering me any further testing. Furthermore, she told me that I should increase my dose of sertraline because majority of her patients find relief at 150-200mg. She also told me that my mind was just playing tricks on my body and that I was just anxious. I was enraged but decided to take matters into my own hands and got testing done at a private lab, Quest. 12/18/25: MMA: 200 Homocysteine: 8.4 Calcium: 9.3 Folate: 5.8 B12: 663 TSH w/ reflex to t4: 2.19 Iodine serum: 48 Vitamin D: 33 What I gathered from this is that my folate dropped a lot within 13 days as did my b12. My TSH jumped from 1.5 (end of September) to 2.19. Furthermore, my vitamin D was pretty low because the range is 30-100 and I was iodine deficient (range: 52-109). At this time I had developed a newer symptom: My tongue had these deep, inflamed scalloped edges all over it. It had a pale center but a red tip that burned! And it had a crack that was breaking apart down the center of my tongue and it made it painful to eat food. On top of that, I lost my menstrual cycle for 3 months, which has never happened to me before. Recovery: In the beginning of January I began supplementing with that b complex. The dose is 2 tablets but I know when starting a methylation cycle that’s been stalled, I need to go low and slow. On the first day of taking 1 tablet from the b complex I was so thirsty! I couldn’t stop drinking electrolytes and water! But because I also have been diagnosed with PMDD I wanted to make sure all of my needs were being met through supplements and eating nutritious, healthy foods. Currently I’m on a low inflammatory diet, focusing on whole foods and staying away from highly processed foods. I decided to stack my supplements with 4-5 days in between each, so I could monitor my symptoms: - Igennus super B complex (1/3/26) #1 tablet - Partiqlar Magnesium glycinate 240mg (1/7/26) - Thorne Zinc picolante 15mg (1/11/26) - NOW Women’s probiotic 20 billion (1/15/26) - Switched from Claritin to Allegra (1/18/26) - NOW Vitamin D3 Mk-7 (1/20/26) - Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omegas (1/27/26) I am also drinking Dr. Berg’s electrolyte powder / 1 a day with water. I had an IUD replaced at the end of February 2025, and I was informed that IUD’s steal b vitamins, magnesium and zinc within the first year - year and a half while it adjusts to the body. I have always struggled with allergies and that’s why I use an antihistamine. But all of December and January I was struggling with histamine intolerance! I would get flushed and itchy with brain fog after eating healthy foods or showering! I just added the second tablet of the b complex on 2/4/26. It’s been wonderful! Since I have added the second tablet, my histamine issues seem to be going away now and I am feeling more connected to my body. My memory issues have gotten so much better and my hands and feet are no longer numb but they are tingly throughout certain times during the day. I am looking to get a genesight test but Kaiser views them an unnecessary and getting a practitioner to order it for me has been difficult. So my question is, has anyone ordered a genesight test and what was your experience with that? And is there anything else that I should add or be doing to help my body recover from this? I know I’m iodine deficient but I don’t know much about it so any advice would be super helpful! submitted by /u/Talkingskies88 to r/MTHFR [link] [comments]

Collapsed to Recovering: My Journey Back from a Severe B-Vitamin Deficiency
I ate very healthy and nutritious meals but I let him know that I cut out all dairy from my diet. is taking 240mg of magnesium glycinate in one go bad?
So I wanted to know some of your opinions is taking 240mg of magnesium glycinate from Dr Berg bad in one go capsule contains 80mg and it shows how between one and five per day but it doesn’t show about the spacing and I’m young. I’m over the age of 18 but this stuff kinda like worries me and stresses me out so if someone can like give me advice on this because I’ve been doing it for like a while now I’ve been taking like around 2 to 3 in one go but I don’t know if the spacing matters because I take electrolytes but electrolytes you need spacing but then you don’t need spacing with magnesium glycinate like what is the difference? And because I mentioned yes, I am with Dr Berg on electrolytes and magnesium glycinate. If someone can help me in the comments I’d really really appreciate that also recently I started getting pain into my right side rib and I’ve never had this before from taking magnesium glycinate and I don’t know what that’s to do with some kind of worrying. It’s under my right side rib. I’m getting like a lot of like pain and I don’t know what that’s to do with because I’ve taken like around 2 to 3 before, but I’ve never had it like this so I don’t know if I’m taking too much I’ve never spoken to a healthcare professional or a doctor about this just research on the Internet submitted by /u/Black-Death_CR to r/Supplements [link] [comments]

Could I be over dosing on magnesium?
Hi, Female, 32 years old I lead a healthy lifestyle. I eat organic meats, raw dairy, organ meats in moderation and supplement what I thought was “very well.” It all started about a year and a half ago where I would get random panic attacks. So I started taking Dr. Bergs electrolyte powder that yielded 1,000 mg potassium and 120 mg of magnesium citrate per serving (along with the other electrolytes). I also started megadosing on magnesium glycinate around that time as well. I have always taken 600 mg of elemental magnesium glycinate alongside of 2, sometimes 3 servings one Dr Berg powder. All in all, I’ve been getting about 800-900 mg of magnesium for about 20 months. Alongside of this, I have taken vitamin d3 and just found out that my multivitamin contained the 10,000 iu but without K2. Fast forward now to last month. I have always had really good energy, slept well and felt strong aside from the anxiety and panic that seemed to be helped a lot with the magnesium and electrolyte powder. Seven week ago, I cut my dairy out and went low calorie (nutrient dense foods still) in an effort to lose 10 lbs. I felt fine the first two weeks, still taking all of my supplements, but then by week 3, I started to experience muscle weakness, extreme emotional stress, limbs that would fall asleep easily. Then I received my new bottle of magnesium glycinate in the mail. My husband and myself at this point, lost sleep. I didnt sleep for three days STRAIGHT. My sister who was takin her new bottle also reported that it gave her extreme diarrhea and intestinal cramps (she also went dairy free and low calorie with me). Every time I would take the magnesium, I would be extremely wired, filled with an other-worldly panic and anxiety and I would not sleep. So I’d take more magnesium to try and mitigate the issue. It only aggravated it. So I went two days without taking any of my supplements. I finally ended up sleeping for three hours straight and then some broken sleep after that. Felt like I was on the mend. I did increase my dairy intake significantly in case I threw my electrolytes out of balance and created a deficiency in calcium. I was experiencing super dry mouth, increased thirst, muscle fatigue and feeling of limbs falling asleep on me, INSOMNIA, panic and extreme anxiety. Well, yesterday, I got worried that stopping all of my supplements would cause “harm” so I took one scoop of Dr. Berg powder. Boom. Within minutes, heart racing, weak limbs and generalized feeling of panic. The magnesium content is only 120 mg and it’s citrate. I know glycinate can make certain individuals nuts but citrate? If that’s even what’s going on. So you guessed it: I didn’t sleep one minute last night and my muscles feel weak and falling asleep. I am back in the ER as I type this. They are reluctant to do all of this testing again because everything was perfect last week. I’m going it anyway. They just throw anxiety pills at me. I AM DESPERATE FOR HELP!!!!!! I went to ER last week and every one of my results came back perfect: CMP, CBC—checked my iron, magnesium levels and calcium—all normal. Checked kidney and liver function. Normal. What could possibly be going on?????? submitted by /u/Legitimate-Arm4320 to r/magnesium [link] [comments]

Magnesium Glycinate 200mg
I asked Chatgpt vitamin for better health. It suggest me D3 5000iu K2 100 mcg, Magnesium 200 mg, Omega 3 700 EPA+DHA. I have done homework for D3, K2 and Omega 3. 5000 iu D3 + 90 mcg K2 for 3 months and then do the 25 OH D test to get around 70 ng/ml. After that 2000 iu of D3 and 100 mcg K2 for daily maintainance. Omega 3, just adding EPA and DHA to around 700 mg level, easy. Now come to Magnesium 200 mg. Dr Berg said the best magnesium is glycinate, so I just find magnesium glycinate 200 mg right? But then there's this buffered and oxide, ugh head hurts. There's this brand said magnesium glycinate 500mg with 90 mg of magnesium. So I supposed to consume 1g of magnesium to hope for 180 mg of magnesium. How do you guys solve this magnesium 200 mg problems? submitted by /u/rlover18 to r/Supplements [link] [comments]

Can’t poo without laxatives
If anyone could help me I would be seriously grateful. This is my story: Early May this year (2025), I (22F) woke up one day constipated (pellet-type, hard&lumpy stools). This resulted in bleeding. This was unusual for me as I never used to get bowel problems and was always regular and so I ignored it because I thought it was a one-off. A few days later it happened again. After this episode I was left extremely sore and knew I needed to up my fibre & water intake. TMI but I had mushy stools which were NOT normal, I also drank hot water before going to the toilet everyday. Tried Aloe Pura for a cleanse and whilst it did clean out my system, after use I was constipated AGAIN! Started using a castor oil pack too, but didn’t see a difference. Decided to see my GP who told me everything was fine and that it will go after a week and to take Laxido, an osmotic laxative. I was very hesitant to try anything over the counter as I did NOT want to gain dependency. However it came to a point where I had to take it as nothing natural was working, I will note all the things I tried at the end. After countless GP visits, rectal examinations, stool tests etc I am left hopeless. It’s been 8 months and I know this is going to be stuck with me forever. 2025 has been the worst year of my life. Even when my stools are soft every bowel movement is painful and I think the area is just damaged. Even when loose, it feels like its being stretched out, though it doesn’t bleed. I don’t know what to do. I was a person who could eat extremely spicy food and now I cannot tolerate Doritos Chilli Heatwave as it burns when I’m having a BM. I also believe i have forgotten how to take a poo. Silly, I know. But I genuinely dont know what to do when sitting on the toilet hence why I cannot go without some kind of laxative. Its crazy because even when my stool is soft, I still cant seem to get it out. Even a squatty potty doesn’t help as I have been using one for years even prior to this problem, it’s just normal in my household to use one. I also have started to get really thin stools which is weird. I told my GP all of this but all she said is that because my stools tests came back fine, there is nothing wrong with me. I asked her if I have a pelvic floor problem and she told me to stop reading things online. During my rectal exam she did say I might have a small internal hemmaroid but a few weeks later I told her to check for a tear as I’m certain I have one, she said she wont check as she doesn’t think I do. I’m on the waiting list to see a colorectal surgeon but as I am in the UK, the NHS will have me waiting till next year. I don’t know how this started or why but I just wish I could do something to end this once and for all. I’m wondering if this could be a parasite problem as I do clench my teeth at night a lot too… Things I have tried: Aloe Pura Capsules - worked but only for the 3 days I took it (can only use for 3 days) Castor Oil Pack - no effect Hot drinks/teas/water - no effect Fibre - made it worss Water - 3L honestly didnt help Magnesium Citrate - 400mg think it does help slightly but don’t want to gain dependency & there has been a day where I took it and the next day I was constipated. Also BMs feels sharp and incomplete when taking it Magnesium Glycinate - no effect Mag07 - works but gives the most loose watery stools. Can only take 7-10 days so not a longterm fix Probiotics - no effect Yoghurt - no effect Digestive Enzymes - no effect Digestive Bitters - not sure if this helps as i have been taking mag citrate with it Laxido (magrocol) - soft stools but still feels like it’s stretching the area & sharp Fybogel - made it worse Black Seed Oil - no effect Trace Minerals - no effect Electrolytes - no effect Kiwi/Papaya/Pears/Apples - no effect B1 Thiamine - no effect - dr Eric Berg Slippery Elm - no effect - Barbara O’Neill Ashwaganda - used incase stress induced Psylium Husk - made worse Apple Cider Vinegar - no effect Cayanne Pepper - works sliggtly but burns so had to stop Coffee - no effect Kefir - made worse Prune Juice - no effect Olive Oil - no effect Salt Water - no effect Flaxseed/Chia Seeds - made worse Vibration Plate - no effect Infared Red Light - no effect Excersize - went gym every morning before BM no effect submitted by /u/Sad-Hearing-2845 to r/Constipation [link] [comments]

I think I'm cured
(I'm not computer literate I've been away for months when Google dropped the Reddit app. So bare with me.) I discovered I was suffering from a magnesium deficiency. Every thing went to hell in a fast hurry. I had pain through out my whole body. I was constantly on the verge of collapsing, and found myself in the ER six times! For over two years I pressed on through the pain. Until I started having severe IBS. It was just an occasional nuisance. But when my bowel locked up..., Long Covid worsened my constipation. I've delt with IBS/C, heavy on the C. I had to take enemas just to relieve that gut pain. I had to cut work hours and come home early. I use public transportation, and the ride on the bus excruciating. I felt every bump, rattle, sway and jiggle. When I was on Utube I came across Dr Eric Berg. A young woman was thanking him for his strong advice for taking magnesium. She described all my symptoms exactly! I followed his advice for treatment. To take Magnesium Glycinate at therapeutic doses. That's at 800mg to 1600mg I went for the 800. His recommendation was for Magnesium Glycinate, as it was more readily absorbed by the body, than the over the counter stuff. And there wouldn't the laxative effect. He also said that it would take up to 4 months before you would notice any change. He wasn't kidding. I just had to keep going. Then out of nowhere, I started having bowel movements twice a day! I've cut the Magnesium Glycinate to 400mg. The bowl movements are painful, a side effect of IBS. But no more agonizing gut pain. I'm taking an antispasmodic, it is revealing the the bus pain, but bowel movements still hurt. I would rather deal with the pain. Than trying to birth boulders or dealing with the bloating. Dr Berg said that people in westernized countries are chronically low in magnesium, because westernized diets just don't eat enough fresh produce. I'm a caregiver living on a fixed income, so there hasn't been enough money to buy and eat fresh produce, like I use to. Give it a shot, I had nothing left to loose, except to try it. submitted by /u/Alternative_Net774 to r/Constipation [link] [comments]

Heart Palpitations from Magnesium Glycinate, D3, K2
Hello, So a few months ago I started taking Dr. Berg’s Vitamin D3/K2 (10,000 IU D3 + 100 mcg K2) along with around 200 mg of magnesium glycinate. After a couple weeks, I started getting really bad heart palpitations. I stopped everything, and while the palpitations got better, they never completely went away, it’s been over 3 months now. I read that maybe I wasn’t taking enough magnesium, so I tried taking just magnesium to “replenish” things… but the palpitations came back strong again. After searching around a bit, I found that a lot of people actually get palpitations from D3, K2, or even from magnesium glycinate (but not other forms of Mg). Now I’m thinking of trying magnesium taurate since I’ve seen a few people say it helped with PVCs when glycinate didn’t agree with them. The issue is my latest blood work shows my vitamin D is low (around 30 ng/ml), so I probably need to raise it somehow. But I’m nervous about restarting D3 (especially without K2, since I suspect that’s what triggered the whole mess and many people had palpitations from it). So… is there a safer way to raise D3 levels without risking calcium buildup or triggering palpitations again and without K2? Anyone been through something similar? submitted by /u/Aqua-Torch to r/magnesium [link] [comments]

Supplementing with Thiamine (B1) solved all of my energy and digestion issues on Carnivore.
As the title suggests, going carnivore has put dozens of my conditions into remission (OCD, GAD, MDD, ADHD….)for over a year now. While so many things improved, I still struggled with digestion and energy. I attribute this to SIBO/SIFO, which carnivore can't “cure” but can provide immense relief. I never felt hungry, no matter how much I “primed” and was found to have low stomach acid. My electrolytes were also increasingly “off” and supplementing just those seemed to throw off my ratios, I had tried all different variations and I was experiencing edema in my legs and feet (long before carnivore). I also had issues digesting fat, unrelated to bile (I had plenty of bile but my vagus nerve activation was jacked and I couldn't It wasn't until I tried B1 (with cofactors) that my MMC began to work and started having fantastic poops and amazing energy for the first time in years! Like what the carnivore influencers talk about :) For those of you opposed to supplements, you can get B1 in pork, but should note that if you have been chronically deficient, like I am positive I have been for YEARS, you may need to supplement to get you over the hump. My working hypothesis of what caused some previous conditions was that chronically low thiamine and antibiotics + stress gave me SIBO/sifo which further depleted my thiamin and gave me malnutrition. I stopped being able to digest my food and had dropped 40lbs in 3 months without trying- it was really scary. When I went carnivore, I may have triggered a mini refereeing syndrome and required a lot of thiamine, magnesium, and potassium to repair my body, luckily the diet provides a lot of phosphate. I started experiencing paradoxical symptoms, largely electrolyte issues. But if I had a big glass of raw milk with each dose I felt great. The edema in my legs has largely subsided and my digestion is close to perfect and I have energy every day! I currently take Dr. Berg's Natural B1 x3 and 1000mg Thiamine Mononitrate. With Mag malate/glycinate/threonate as needed (1-3) + glass of raw milk as needed (1-3) I have sulfur issues so molybdenum also helps but don't take it every day. Just wanted to share my experience in case anyone has been troubleshooting the same issues. *edited to fix type of thiamine submitted by /u/PrimalPoly to r/carnivorediet [link] [comments]

TATA 1mg Magnesium Glycinate Tablet is buffed with hydroxide. Is it good ?
Buffered with magnesium hydroxide means that magnesium hydroxide is added to the formulation to increase the elemental magnesium content https://preview.redd.it/aqwslozdeaaf1.png?width=322&format=png&auto=webp&s=2319386737081e2f3e9bace70860ae2ca8442b59 And Magnesium hydroxide is one of the worse form of magnesium for human consumtion. IDK I read this here - https://drbergdam.blob.core.windows.net/documents/dr-berg-magnesium-12-12-23.pdf (Some of you might knwo who this doc is ) So people who are already using this supplement can u share your experience ? As I am considering to buy magnesium supplement. IK pure magnesium Glycinate is more expensive but in this case IDK the ration of glycinate and hydroxide. If you think I am missing something here please let me know, or even if u want me to suggest something else. (BTW i DONT GO TO THE GYM BUT I HAVE SOME nutritional DEFICIENCY. But I do workout a lot on my own in a garden around 5-6AM) https://preview.redd.it/t39efm5qeaaf1.png?width=706&format=png&auto=webp&s=cfe9cc67ce69a45029ae359e5524be2886d0d5d3 submitted by /u/PralineDramatic1728 to r/Fitness_India [link] [comments]

Dr. Bergs Vitamins - what has been your experience?
I’m speaking of Dr Berg from YouTube. I love his content and I trust his knowledge and research. However when I went to buy his supplements I noticed there were some fillers that studies say not to consume magnesium stearate microcrystalline cellulose I’m interested if you guys have had a good experience on them or not. Seen a difference. Any side effects you KNOW was caused by the supplement. I was particularly looking at his Vit D3 + K2 supplement and his Magnesium Glycinate. But interested in just your overall experience. Thanks! :) submitted by /u/AshelyDuce to r/Supplements [link] [comments]

Almost 100% Healed. Final Straws to Break the Camels back.
Rough draft but I wanted to share right away. 10 years of research, 10,000+ Dollars and Hours of Research. Almost dying, Losing 50 lbs, Skin and bones, no Appetite, horrible toxic drugged brainfog, headache, hung over, ETC. Mold is my last step to clear. Gallbladder sludge flushes (i know it's not hard stones, just sludge) , Vitamin C flushes, this protocol and a PuraClenz mold killing PCO air purifier is the final steps. Version 1.5 Edit Hungry, Happy, Sleeping, Relaxed, Thankful.... Hope this helps. Typos expected. Wanted to share this before relaxing this afternoon This Article is the sum of everything that was most successful and simple as best as possible. ************Recommended supplements are at the bottom of post.******** Also Here is my older posts. I am almost 100% Just need to clear the mold, probably move, and start a new life with new priorities. https://www.reddit.com/r/SIBO/comments/w86xwo/citrobacter_sibo/ https://www.reddit.com/r/SIBO/comments/1b7bhlm/sibo_recovery_is_possible/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Candida/comments/191k6sf/three_years_of_fungal_nails_finally_curing/ 5 Pillar Protocol Nutrition * Digestion * Herbal Antimicrobials * Stress and Genetics Support * Probiotics and Prebiotic foods Critical step 1: Do you have mold. Does your house have any smell at all when you first go in the door. Musty mildew moldy earthy? That is critical to healing. Critical step 2: How long have you been sick? If you have been sick for years, biofilms can build complicating things. Critical Step 3: Are you under or overmethylated. Hives, Red skin, Itchiness, Lots of tears, saliva, and feeling understimulated is Undermethyalation. Methylated vitamins Like low dose methylated nutrients found in Seeking health Multivitamin One (low dose) are best for you. Quercetin, Turmeric, Ginger can be helpful for undermethylators. Be aware! They can give some with slow MAO gene too much seretonin, resulting in vivid colors, laughing too much, and dry eyes. See how you tolerate them, I do not. Overmethylators are the opposite, Not getting red when scratching the skin, Dry eyes or mouth, Insomnia, not able to calm down, even Vivid colors! Seeking Health Multivitamin MF (methyl Free) can help a lot. Niacinamide 500 Mg up to 2000 mg a day (2x500mg twice a day) can really help remove the anxiety, insomnia and relieve dry eyes. Glycine which is inside collagen and gelatin can help with overmethylation by Methionine. B complexes are not advised! Multivitamin One by Seeking health has all the extra A D E K and Minerals with the B vitamins IN THE PROPER DOSE! B Complex is like putting gas and oil in your car, but forgetting to put in transmission fluid and brake fluid. We need All the vitamins and mineral together In a good multivitamin, not a single high dose of these nutrients is needed. *** YOU MAY HAVE TO START ON DIGESTION, THEN HERBAL ANTIBIOTICS THEN AFTER INFECTION AND HISTAMINE IS LOWERED , THEN START NURITION. STRESS SUPPORT CAN BE STARTED RIGHT AWAY*** YOU CAN TAKE ACTIVATED CHARCOAL OR BENTONITE CLAY ONE HOUR AFTER HERBALS TO ABSORB TOXINS ***BEFORE*** THEY ENTER BLOOD STREAM Long term use can cause bile deficiency. You can add one supplement at a time and check response! You can take a day or two break and have just meat a potatoes for a day or so, or even soup, and get your baseline. If you feel better, Some supplements may be reacting and it's not just "die off". *************Nutrition. The body needs key nutrients to function. Without them, it cannot function correctly. For Example, Vitamin C deficiency can have bleeding gums, hemorrhoids (collagen needs vitamin c) and scurvy. Vitamin B1 deficiency can cause Panic and Anxiety attacks, insomnia, extreme stress, and others. *************Vitamins and Minerals Vitamin A, B1,2,3,5,6,9,12, Biotin Pantothenic acid, Vitamin C, D ,E K1 K2, Minerals Without magnesium, the body loses ability to make GABA and relax the mind, also causing muscle tension, spasms, twitching, pain, and cramps. Potassium is KEY as well. 2000Mg a day MINUMUM. Zinc, Copper, Iodine, Selenium, Magnesium, Manganese, Calcium, Potassium, Boron, Molybdenum, Chromium, Trace minerals as well. We need all of the amino acids from glycine to methione, and all the essential fatty acids like omega 3 in fish oil/salmon. *************Digestion The body needs the correct PH of stomach acid. If the PH is too high, Food does not digest correctly and vitamins/minerals like zinc, cannot be absorbed. HCL Acid as betain HCL Pepsin Enzymes for fat carb and protein digestion Bile acids Some enzymes are fungal produced and are not good for mold patients, It is best to use porcine/bovine enzymes as a trial. Now foods pancrease 2000 or Standard process zypan works good for me. Enzymedica seems to bad for me. If the gallbladder is sluggish and has sludge stones, the body cannot RID ITSELF OF FAT SOLUABLE TOXINS. Bile MUST be flowing, Especially for MOLD. Ox Bile / Tudca can help give the body bile to dissolve cholesterol stones blocking the LIVER AND Bile ducts. The LIVER makes BILE. It is only stored in the gallbladder and concentrated. People have had their gallbladder removed only to get a gallstone inside their liver, causing relapse of pain. The body needs Taurine, Glycine, and Choline to make bile acids. Deficiencies in these can affect someone greatly. Gallbladder flushes can help tremendously. The flushed I have done have changed my life. After overeating, eating food you don't tolerate or taking lots of antimicrobial or just general constipation, A Vitamin C flush can work miracles. I prefer Potent C Guard by Perque or for less cost, I use C Salts major brand in 3 flavors or Unflavored. 2 Teaspoon every 15 minutes in 4-6 ounces of water until you use the restroom. *************Herbal Antimicrobials/Infections Many patients have multiple infections. Mold, Lyme, Candida, Sibo, with many different strains and types of pathogens. I prefer and overcame with FC Cidal, Dysbiocide, and Silverbiotics patented Colloidal Silver. Now foods candida support, MCT oil, Monolaurin, and Biocidin can help. Biocidin can be bad for people with overmethylation and slow MAO due to the drying eyes and excess serotonin. See how you tolerate it. Nutridyn Nutricidin is very potent broad actions essential oil capsules. I started them before I did all these other areas of this 5 pillar protocol. I feel I do not need it anymore. It hit the infection hard, maybe to hard at the beginning. Everything needs to be working good in the body , to truly heal and detox. That is why this protocol was created. Activated charcoal can help soak up bacterial LPS (toxins) and some mold. Bentonite clay seems to be much better at absorbing mycotoxins from mold and helped me must better than activated charcoal after using it for 6 months. **********Stress and Genetics support. The body goes into flight or fight after long term infections, nutrient depletion, and the emotional stress building from being sick so long. Obsessions, insomnia, wired but tired, Not able to relax mentally, and being exhaused are all criticld RED FLAG warning signs. To heal the body MUST be able to into the rest and digest parasympathetic system. The fight or flight adrenal respons causes the immune, digestion, hormonal and repoductive systems to turn off. The body is in survival mode, It does not care about these sytems when chased by a lion. Any physical or emotional stress can cause this response and can be hard to get out of the cycle. Obsessions and watching video after video, post after post, website after website does provide information but is detrimental to healing. We need foundation, rest, relaxation and hope. There is hope , His name is Jesus. After almost dying, many times in 10 years, and more before that, Know you are loved and you WILL get through this. ************Stress support nutrients. ******Extreme stress: Seeking health Adrenal cortex. For extreme fatigue, mood, and sleep problems. When nothing works. Do a trial of 3 days, first thing in the morning with a few bites of food, 1 cap adrenal cortex. After a day or two, Check how you feel. Are you better. Stop taking it then. Pulse method by Dr Ben Lynch. ********CRITICAL nutrients. B1 Benfotiamine, Adrenal Cortex, Electrolytes Magnesium/Potassium, Collagen if tolerated only. **********Overmethylation nutrients Niacinamide, Collagen READ RECOMMENDED READING! Lower protein FOR OVERMETHYLATION. Less red meat and cheese, Wild caught fish, Organic chicken, quality pork all have less methylation than beef. (undermethylators opposite is true, beef/cheese can help if tolerated, Goat/sheep cheese over cow cheese for both groups can be better tolerated. Undermethylators do better on less leafy greens and more protein. More carbs to keep stable blood sugar, Potatoes great source of potassium and stable blood sugar. COOKED VEGGIES ONLY for leaky gut and severe digestion problems. Add in others as tolerated. **********************************Probiotics/prebiotic foods If the garden is full of weeds, sometimes you have to mow it all down and start fresh. I tried probiotics 2 years and only got worse. 1 Year of Megasporbiotic proved noneffective against candida for my Mother on her GI Map Stool test. We both had to stop taking them and start working on nutrtion, digestion, and herbal antibiotics to be able to tolerate foods again and not have bloating. Some may benefit most from taking Probiotics/Kefir/Yogurt (including coconut non dairy) as well as Bifido Only blend probiotics at night, and the herbal antibiotics during the day. Probiotics help even if they are dead as proven by this study. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6566317/ Probiotics can be opened and swished around the mouth, applied to the private areas, and even diluted with water and placed in nostrils. When we are born, the microbiome goes all over us as well. GI MAP stool test can help show you want you need. If low in bifido species but high in lactobacillus , Consider Seeking health Bifido only probiotic called “ Probiota Bifidobacterium When on Seekinghealth.com Look for “how it works” tab to get more understanding about any item you're looking at. **************************************************************** **************************************************************** List of Recommended Supplements. **************************************************************** **************************************************************** ****************Nutrition Seeking Health Multivtamin One MF for overmethylators dry eyes, regular for undermethylated. Karuna Zinc Plus Copper Extra Zinc/Copper might be needed. Thorne Copper Bisglycinate 2-6 MG as needed for sense of touch/energy/greying hair. Must be paired with Vitamin A, Natural is most preferred. Grass fed butter, Ghee, Liver, Cod liver oil best. B1 Benfotiamine Micronutrient brand 200 mg per cap in coconut oil. B3 Niacinamide by Thorne ( ONLY for overmehylation dry eyes insomnia. Not for high histamine) Vitamin C IS CRITICAL. C salts brand drink, Ester C, Perque Potent C Gaurd(worst flavor but potent) or liposomal vitamin c. Whole food Vitamin C is best. But for flush, you need C Salts or Potent C Gaurd (buffered vitamin C not from Corn) Get Vitamin C every Day for Adrenals, immune, and stress response. Vitamin D + K2 is critical, Get sunshine even if it's just 5 minutes. If you take the cod liver oil you get some vitamin D, and if you take the Multivitamin One , you get Vitamin K2 in that. Seeking health Has a vitamin D + K2 as well. Collagen Vital Proteins, or Orgain(worst taste, less cost) Glycine is CRITICAL for collagen production, Gaba production, liver bile acids. People don't get enough due to the boneless skinless crazy. Bone broth and healthy jello like “Simply mixes” no artifical junk, can help supplement it without getting bored of collagen. High histamine people may needs to work on eliminating histamine producting bacteria, and vitamins before able to tolerate these things. Dr Berg electrolytes, Critical for sleep, muscles, stress. Overmethylation nutrients Thorn Niacinamide, Vital Proteins Collagen ************************************************************************* ************************************************************************* ****************Diet. Meat only can be nice for extreme flares but only for a day or two. Gi Lining should repair in two days with the right nutrients and detoxing. Meat and potatoes can be a staple, throw in some cooked veggies , maybe some baby raw carrots and a handfull of grapes for snacks/desert. Potatoes have good fiber, potassium, vitamin c, b6, more more than rice or other grains. See if you tolerate them. Diet cannot starve bacteria/yeast. They go into hibernation. *Candid make Tendrils when starved and bury into gut lining!!! Carnivore can make Candida worse! https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5872313/ More important is not binging on sugar, and even more than that, is killed the bacterial/yeast infections that influence your brain chemistry to crave sugars and junk foods. Remove infections with herbal antibiotics while eating a whole food, meat veggie and some fruit diet best you can. Do not think that having an orange will “feed candida”. This thinking feeds the horrible fight or flight stress response and keeps people sick. Remove the infections, not yourself. Thousand of people walk by every day who can tolerate these foods perfectly fine without having severe symptoms. That is why this protocol was created. It is to help the suffering people. SMALL MEALS MORE OFTEN CAN HELP THE ADRENAL GLANDS WITH STABLE BLOOD SUGAR. I DID NOT HEAL UNTIL I STOPPED FASTING SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU EAT A HUGE MEAL ONCE A DAY THAT WILL HURT YOU. You need stable constant supply of blood sugar OR THE ADRENAL TURN ON , ADRENALINE AND CORTISOL DUMP then you spend hours on reddit reading , MAKING THE FIGHT OR FLIGHT REPSONSE WORSE. Without the multivitamin, the body cannot utilize stored fat or turn food into energy. All of these system need to be address at same time or one after the other in a timely fashion. Try to eat every 2 hours. THE SIBO doctors are wrong about eating only a few meals with no snacks or else we all would be well now if we listened them. We must be gentle and supportive of our body, NOT STARVE OUR SELF TRYING TO HELP THE BOWELS MOTILITY or starve infections!. Infection, inflammation, chronic stress and unstable bloodsugar and FIGHT OR FLIGHT, STOP THE MMC. Eating food and keeping stable blood sugar, getting your nutrients, and KILLING THE TOXIN PRODUCING INFLAMMATORY INFECTION is the real root cause. I Have done years of carnivore , low carb, intermittent fasting only to find all of this out and start healing. Small meals more often is best for digestion, and blood sugar stability! ONLY USE 80% OF YOUR ENERGY A DAY, Leave 20% for healing. You will burn out if you just keep pushing! People must provide the body with the building blocks of the cells. Our cells are constantly dying and being replaced. Put in the proper nutrients provides strong cells.
