Wosado Magnetic Lashes
I had this way back november 2024 and still use it till now. What i like about it is that it is super lightweight. You don’t feel that prickly effect on your eyes. Why you should buy it: Lightweight, Magnetic, Easy to put on, Easy to take it off and Windproof (tested this a lot riding jeepneys) Note: When i first had it, i find it a bit tricky to place it properly but after a few tries, i could put it on easily. It comes with a fixer to make it hold longer but i mostly use it without cause it’s just fine the way it is haha. I used it during my winter trip last december and it was all good. I actually bought another pair yesterday but different type of lashes lol. This is perfect for heavy and fine makeup. I do use this at school almost everyday hahaha. submitted by /u/Left_Cauliflower8435 to r/AsianBeauty [link] [comments]

35F makeup tips to soften my facial features and look more youthful?
I posted these photos in another community and asked people to guess my age. A large percentage of them guessed from late 30s to late 40s and said it was due to my makeup and strong bone structure. Any makeup tips to soften my features and appear more youthful? Current list: Lo'real True Match concealer, pressed powder (entire face) & loose powder foundation (under eyes only) in c5 and c6, sacha buttercup setting powder, Kiss magnetic lashes and eyeliner, elf lip liner and butter gloss. submitted by /u/Eeeej7777 to r/MakeupAddiction [link] [comments]

Magnetic eye lashes - do these look good on me?
It's the first time I post so I hope It is okay. I used to always wear eyeliner and mascara but due to an eye condition I cannot anymore, and I feel very weird without anything on my eyes, so I decided to try clip magnetic lashes. I have two different styles, which one look better? (If any) I'm not going to wear them every day. People who have seen them irl say they look very natural but idk if I can trust my friends or they are only trying to be nice. Thanks!! submitted by /u/Competitive_Copy_223 to r/makeuptips [link] [comments]

Magnetic lashes review
Hi all, A while ago I what a little bit lash crazy looking for an alternative to lash extensions, DIY lash extensions, and makeup. In general, I don't wear foundation or much makeup at all. What I was doing was my own DIY lash extensions with clusters for the longest time but needed a break from having anything on the lashes to give them a chance to grow. And on top of that I wanted to just have my face be clear of any sort of makeup or product besides skin care during the day. This is when I discovered magnetic lashes. I bought a crazy amount of magnetic lashes and honestly discarded most of them because they just did not work for me. I wish I still had them so I could show you all. The magnetic lashes I'm talking about are not the ones with the magnetic eyeliner. They are the one met that have two essentially two-strip lashes that sandwich your natural lashes with magnets. Here's my review based on the ones that I tried. Picture one. My natural lashes. Asian, short and straight. Picture two. I had bought a huge variety of magnetic lashes but unfortunately do not have most of them anymore. I had full length lashes and some half length lashes as well. The ones pictured here have a fishing wire line. Thick magnets. I found at these magnets were nice and strong which were great. However, the lashes itself were not contoured to fit your eye shape. Because of how stiff the fishing wire type material it was, it always wanted go back to being a straight lind on my lashes. These were quite durable but just did not work for my eyes or my eye shape. Because of how strong of magnets were they did stay on quite well. Picture three. Wasado. I don't know about you but there was a while I kept seeing these on tiktok and on other social media. But these are the lashes that have the super wide magnets that are also curved. So in theory the contour better to your eye. I was so excited to try these! However, upon getting them, the first thing I noticed was how weak these magnets felt. The lashes I bought before would snap almost too quickly to the applicator. These were too easy to peel off of each other and you could tell in immediately the magnet was much weaker. Now the manufacturer will tell you that you are supposed to use this clear, almost like a mascara type thing on your lashes first so the magnet has to grip on. So for me I did not use this clear coating because I did not want to use any product on my face. I was very disappointed with this product. While it did contour very well to my eye, much better than all the other ones I tried, the magnets were simply not strong enough. In the picture here it shows how it was already slipping 10 minutes after I first applied them. I did later on try this while having some tubing mascara on and it did seem to stay on a bit better. I could have it on for about half a day before it really started slipping to a point, it was very obvious. Anyways, just with how weak the magnets felt I gave up on these lashes. Picture four. These were the winner for me. These magnetic lashes were on a different type of material than fishing wire. Not sure what they were. They had five magnets two rectangle magnets on the ends and if you can see in the picture clearly, three small circle magnets in between. Immediately you could tell the magnets were very strong. Which is a great size. On top of that, the band had quite a bit of flexibility unlike all the ones in picture two. When I put them on they were able to contour very nicely to my eye shape and I was actually able to wear these a full day without having to reapply. The only downside of these ones is that they felt a lot more fragile. I was able to use my first pair for about 7 to 8 days before they ripped. The other ones felt a lot more durable than this. All in all think I will repurchase the ones in the fourth picture for the weeks when I'm taking a break from doing my own DIY lashes. I bought all of these off of AliExpress. submitted by /u/LachrimaeSanguinis to r/beauty [link] [comments]

Magnetic lashes… omg
**im using wosado’s no.11 + i got no idea how this picture size will look on reddit so i hope the preview image doesnt look too goofy 😭 ive never been much of a lashes gal since i thought there was no saving my nonexistent southeast asian lashes and i just couldnt glue on fake lashes to save my life. ive experimented with clusters before but since i got pretty stubborn down pointing lashes it takes a lot for anything to show 😭 so when i tell u this is the best investment thus far…. ever since i got these ive been telling everyone and their grandmas about them. girlies who hate glued on lashes and spent $100+ on extensions this is for you!! 🫵 ive always been that girl with big glasses and peanuts for eyes (-5.0 + terrible astigmatism) starting wearing contacts + investing in this got me so many compliments !! making ur eyes pop really goes a long way submitted by /u/Engingis to r/vindictapoc [link] [comments]

Does anyone know if the viral wosado magnetic lashes on tiktok are actually good for daily use?
I wanted to buy them, so I of course did some research before buying. Some reviews mentioned the difficulty of applying them, which I don’t really mind. However, others talk about how the magnets on the lashes don’t stay on even after just 5 uses. I saw another review that said that you have to fix them every few hours because they slip off. Please lmk if they’re actually worth it! submitted by /u/MakiRollio to r/MakeupAddiction [link] [comments]

Anyone tried Kulan magnetic lashes yet?
Loved the idea of magnetic reusable lashes for a long time, got the MLEN ones but with my monolid eyes, they would slide down as I blinked. Anyone tried the Kulan and know if it’s the same? I reached out to them but even they can’t give me a comparison submitted by /u/plssirmayihavesmore to r/AustralianMakeup [link] [comments]

Friend's father tried to light her wedding venue on fire boy-scout style after realizing she was 'for real' about marrying a woman
I am not The OOP, OOP is u/Ch-ee-rios Friend's father tried to light her wedding venue on fire boy-scout style after realizing she was 'for real' about marrying a woman Originally posted to r/CharlotteDobreYouTube Thanks to u/soayherder & u/queenlegolas for suggesting this BoRU TRIGGER WARNING: bigotry, attempted arson, mental health issues, abuse Original Post Oct 13, 2024 To start, I'd like to say that I would ordinarily never make a post about people I know, but because I'm petty AND the friend in question has given me the vague go-ahead for an anonymous post, I figured it's only right that it gets posted here. You could probably call this a FILFH, but, well, I honestly don't think anyone is claiming him as their father. This happened about a year ago now. To set the scene, my darling dear friend- we'll call her Alice (F24) was getting married to her girlfriend (F23) of four years. We'll call her Jenny. From what I know, Alice and Jenny met when they were fifteen on their high school's cheerleading team and did not get along. I mean actual screaming matches in the parking lot type beat. I'm talking lawn chairs and popcorn were OUT when they got into it. Skip to a remarkable, earth-shattering junior year and Jenny's prom date just kissed Alice at the prom. When Alice (who is staunchly anti-cheaters and may or may not be plotting satanic rituals to perform upon such people as her mom was routinely accused of cheating despite no proof coming forth) found out that the guy was cheating, she and Jenny had a come to Jesus kumbaya where they proceeded to bond over messaging his parents and the entire basketball team in an act of sluuuuu-shaming him. Now for the relevant come-to. During this time, Alice and Jenny started staying over at each other's houses. It should be noted that Jenny and Alice are both very feminine and Jenny is black (I wish it wasn't relevant but it's a little relevant). Jenny met Alice's parents. I do want to say that I personally met Alice's parents during our collective freshman year of college, which is when I met Alice and Jenny. Her mom is a saint and I absolutely adore her- should she ever read this (which she almost definitely won't) then I would actually literally biblically take a bullet for you Mrs. J. Her dad (M48), we'll call him Chad, is a bit of a red-pill podcast listening loser, and that's if I'm being charitable. He's weirdly homophobic, transphobic, and misogynistic while also ranting the ear off of anyone who will listen about how he's a savior of these people. I don't have all the details of what happened to make Jenny hate him, but I do know it has something to do with him repeatedly referring to her as 'the black chick' despite knowing her name. But I digress. Cut to college. I've just met Alice and Jenny, love them dearly, and have the misfortune of meeting Chad in the flesh. It should be noted that Alice came out when she was seventeen and Jenny's family is very supportive and has a few other queer family members within the unit. Despite Alice coming out as gay, her dad (and I have seen the texts I shit you not) said that it's "normal for everyone to have sexual feelings for the same gender. Don't worry about it and find a man to (redacted) you good enough that you forget about it." ....I wish I was joking, but he did send that text to his daughter. But it was at that time that I heard Alice and Jenny had just gotten together and I was happy for them, so Alice blocked Chad for a bit and all was well. Until the wedding. I know that Chad knows that Alice and Jenny are together. I know that Chad knows that Alice and Jenny got engaged. I WAS AT THE ENGAGEMENT PARTY WHERE HE WAS PRESENT. But apparently even reality can't stop Chad. It'd be iconic if only boldness wasn't wasted on the wretched. Chad also has a history of smoking no matter the location and pretending not to see no smoking signs. Still, Chad called Alice during a girls night, absolutely pissed that she was 'taking the joke this far' and had to stop living with Jenny or men would get the wrong idea. He started saying something about her biological clock and having his DNA when Alice very firmly cut him off and asked what he was talking about. Apparently, somehow, some way, Chad thought that her wedding invitations were a joke (it was a spinoff of the 'and they were roommates' joke, so on the invitation was a glittery pink 'and they were wives' that we'd designed after a few daiquiris). After a back and forth on speaker phone, Alice hung up after telling him that he was an idiot for thinking that she was in a longstanding joke about having a girlfriend for four years. You might be wondering where Alice's mom is in all of this: BLISSFULLY UNINVOLVED The best part of Mrs. J and Chad is that it's an open secret that she desperately wants to divorce him but won't until all of their children together are eighteen because she wants to 'preserve normalcy for the kids.' As of today, they should be getting a divorce in about five months. She very seriously makes her stance clear that she loves her children and is thrilled to welcome Jenny as her newest daughter. So, we get to the night before the wedding and we're JAZZED. I'm going back and forth between suites at this gorgeous venue passing notes between Jenny and Alice like they're lovesick teenagers. I'm doing the thing, we're giggling and having fun, and between both parties which just consists of our entire combined inner friend group from college including the he's, she's, and they's, we're having the best time. Until Chad walks into Jenny's suite. You heard that right. Jenny. Not Alice, his daughter. He was lucky to be invited to the wedding in my opinion, but this was insane and I only heard the half of it. Supposedly, he knocked on the door and walked into the room when someone opened it to ask what was up and he started laying into her on how she was a bitch, unclean, and pulled out printed photos of the devil according to the christian bible and left. So they're sitting there after this whirlwind and the guys are making sure Chad left. That's when I walk in, hear the situation, then rush back to Alice to make sure her room wasn't next on his hit list. Get this- Chad isn't religious. Like actually. Like literally. Also, according to Alice, he had stopped taking his medication a week prior to 'be more present at her wedding', but that medication was what kept him from hallucinating. We shook it off as best as possible and took an early night to chill before the wedding. BUT THEN WE GET TO THE WEDDING The ceremony? Gorgeous. Cocktail hour? Stunning. Their first dance? SOBBING. We went around giving speeches celebrating them when it gets to be Chad's turn to give a speech. Get this- no one can find him for about ten minutes. The party in particular is mad suspicious of this, but then Mrs. J sighed with the force of a woman who's been mentally divorced for a decade, got up from her chair, walked over to one of the beautiful wide floor-to-ceiling windows on every wall, then shines her phone flashlight out into the darkness where part of the party was going to take place. The lights were going to be turned on when they walked out after the dinner. And there Chad was. In all his lack of glory, in his suit, trying to wiggle dry sticks together boy-scout style to set a fire to the lawn. Remember how I said he was a prolific smoker? Yep. He most certainly had a lighter in his pocket, but in the moment he had resorted to pulling sticks in a hallucinatory daze. Now, I know you're probably wanting to write his behavior off on his medication. Don't. This man has been drunk texting his children for years about them being/not being biologically worthy. He has been abusing his wife for years. He is damn lucky anyone is still willing to talk to him after he has threatened to unalive several people over the years including his daughters and son. He is not a good person. His hallucinations started three or so years ago. He has stated that he prefers being angry and bitter because that means he is smarter. Anger equals intelligence in this man's eyes. He waited no more than thirteen hours after his wife's father died to tell everyone how much he always hated him. Her grief was less important than his feelings. He has no room for love in his heart, even on his daughter's wedding day. If you couldn't tell, he didn't succeed in setting fire to their venue and was ushered home for a nap. He also didn't succeed in ruining their wedding day. I have a few more Chad stories from my personal beef with him and a little more on why none of his children talk to him if you'd like to hear them. I'm considered a close family friend of six years now, which is why I know a lot of this. We're keeping this anon so we should be good EDIT: I wanted to clarify a few things I didn't add When Chad was outside wiggling sticks together, he was doing so on one of the tables outside where the rest of the reception was going to take place with more dancing. Since this was an autumn wedding, there were enough dried leaves that he grabbed a handful and put them on the table. He wasn't exactly yelling when he was driven home, but he was talking about how the whole thing should burn, then demanded Mrs. J bring him a slice of wedding cake. To my knowledge, she did not. Chad was given a speech at the wedding because he promised to let Alice and Jenny proofread it beforehand. Mrs. J was going to proofread it originally, but Chad accused her of trying to tamper with it, so she walked away. Chad was allowed at the wedding at all because he wasn't even the one walking her down the aisle- Alice and Jenny had their moms do that. He didn't have a ton of responsibility and up until the night before, he'd been on a two month stretch of being relatively normal. He'd been taking his medication and seemed to be putting in the work to improve their relationship. Then he stopped taking his medication consciously. Whenever Chad is asked about why he tried to light the venue on fire (albeit poorly), he states that that never happened. Sometimes he'll joke and say that he was just try to set up a bonfire for his 'little girl' to remind them of when they used to go camping. Spoiler: he went camping with Alice's younger sister, not Alice. He has always mixed up his children, this isn't new. Chad is still in Alice and Jenny's life. He started taking his medication again immediately after the wedding followed by a text saying that Alice was being unfair for letting her own father leave. He's normal half the time, but I suspect that when Alice and Jenny start welcoming kidlets into their family, they'll go lower or no contact. They currently see him twice a month. RELEVANT COMMENTS Lopsided_Giraffe9846 I'm glad he didn't ruin their wedding. To answer your question hell yes we want to hear more stories. OOP So something kind of interesting about Chad is that he's Smart(TM). In fact, he's so smart that he out-thought the military. Earlier this year his number one Chad Conversation Topic was about how he got an email from the top of the Navy telling him that he was right about everything and they wish he was still active duty so he could tell the world about how vaccinations are fake and Corona was an inside job. He actually told me about this personally. When I asked to see the message, he explained that it was top secret and considered a military insider and that he shouldn't even be telling people about it. ....he then walked over to the next group of people at the fourth of july party to tell them about it. He stopped talking to me altogether soon after I mentioned that I'm not from the US, so there's that Update Oct 25, 2024 Original Post: Friend's father tried to light her wedding venue on fire boy-scout style after realizing she was 'for real' about marrying a woman : If you didn't see the original, please give that a skim because it sets the stage for what happened at Alice and Jenny's one year wedding anniversary party a few days ago. It's also the tiniest bit of an AITA lmao I'd like to say that I also just don't feel bad about this AND I'm more than willing to accept that I'm an a-hole. In the last two weeks, my original post had our friend group talking a little bit more about what happened during Alice and Jenny's wedding last year. It should be noted that they were 22/23 when they got married and 23/24 now, but most of our friend group is between 21 and 25. A lot of us are still in the last legs of university or grad school right now. I am not from the states. I'm 22 and just started grad school this past year. Their anniversary party was last Saturday so that everyone could attend, but it's not their actual anniversary date. Both Alice and Jenny have pretty well-paying jobs for being relatively fresh out of university, but it's not super surprising since they had fantastic internships in college and got hired through these companies. They have a good-sized place (not a house because literally who can afford that) and just adopted two cats and a retired service dog. In comes Chad. Oh, Chad. Basically, one of the main issues with Chad and I in particular is that I'm not from the states. I still have an accent, since English is not my first language (but I'm absolutely fluent and you can hardly hear my accent at all imo). I'm also pretty pale, so that's why I'm guessing he didn't realize it sooner into our vague acquaintanceship through Alice. I'm also the only person in the friend group that wasn't born in America, but our friend group is very diverse besides that. After the catastrophe of the wedding, it's a shock that Chad was allowed to come to the party at all. He did, however, seem to get better in the last few months and Jenny in particular is very forgiving, so she pushed to invite him. This was fine for the most part, since Chad was actually genuinely looking to have gotten a little more normal. I wrote my original post in the mindset of a person who hasn't interacted with Chad in well over three months. Supposedly he switched up his medication and seems to be more normal and I was actually sort of happy for Alice. As much as I dislike the man, I want Alice to have this part of her support system. But then we get to the party. Chad was super respectful and thankful about the invitation to the party- up until a week before when he asked, out of the blue, "is (ch-ee-rios) coming?" Alice replied that yes, of course I'm going (and I made them a cake!!). Radio silence since then until the day of the party, where Chad sent a text saying he was on the way. Chad walks in, and who does he see? Oh yeah, ME. I was by the door chatting with a friend when Chad walks in, looks at me, and just says "you mother(redacted)." I know Chad isn't my biggest fan, but I was a little taken aback considering this is the first time Chad has talked to me since the July 4 party. I tried to make a joke with finger guns and say "you mother(redacted)" right back to him, but he didn't think it was very funny. Instead, he decided to tell me how immigrants are going to hell. Like, bro, hello to you too? Well, he told me that he didn't want to see me for the rest of the party and that I should leave and never come back OR avoid him for the rest of our lives. I did tell Alice and Jenny about this the other day, but they didn't hear a word about this exchange for the rest of the night. You might be wondering why. The fun thing about this party was that there were many planned games. Planned partner games, even, where you could choose your partner. Charades, Cards Against Humanity, blind drawing, pictionary, a scavenger hunt, and a fun murder mystery to round off the night. All two-person adjusted partnership games that Alice and Jenny planned so that everyone could have fun whether or not they were drinking. If you haven't guessed what I did just yet, I want you to just imagine what I could have done with this information, this conversation, and the knowledge that literally NO ONE there wanted to be Chad's babysitter for the night. Every single time it was called for people to find a partner, I latched on like a tapeworm, a leech, even a glued-down magnet on metal. Every time Chad tried to find a new partner or sit out, I was there. There was one point where I literally jumped over the side of the couch just to keep him from partnering with Alice so that she could enjoy her anniversary, because I could tell that he was going to say something about me to her and she would've gotten upset about it, then Jenny would've been upset, then Chad would've yelled- so I just cut out the middle man. Every time he tried to make a comment about me, I'd talk loud and proud right over him. He'd try to pull out a cigarette and smoke indoors? I'd snatch it out of his hand, thank him for the offer, and stuff it in my pocket. He'd try to run off? I'd offer to grab us 'buddies' drinks mid-game. He'd try to complain to someone? I'd LOUDLY laugh and say "wow what a funny joke, CHAD. Right, CHAD? Wasn't that a JOKE? At Alice's ANNIVERSARY PARTY?" At any point, if he walked away, I was right on his heels, telling him all about where I lived before moving to the states. Eventually I think I broke part of his nasty, no-good spirit, because at the end of the night he was nearly falling asleep on the couch before he was ushered into a car. If you're wondering, I only grabbed him mocktails. The guy couldn't even use alcohol as an escape. I was also absolutely exhausted, but the only thing he managed to say to Alice was a tired congratulations and a complaint about the booze, so she was pretty happy. Jenny was also thrilled that her father-in-law didn't manage any racist remarks to her. To be perfectly honest? I was kind of miserable the whole night, but that's what friends are for. The party wasn't for me to get absolutely sloshed (despite that being the plan). It was for Alice to enjoy her party and try her best to maintain her low-contact relationship with her dad. If it were me, I'd cut contact with no sweat off my back. But it's not my relationship, and (thankfully) that's not my father. It's not my decision to make, but I do feel a little vindicated in knowing that I made Chad's night his worst nightmare. Mrs. J also had a good time as far as I know, but part of my mission was also letting her have a night off from being Chad's babysitter, so I avoided her at all costs. Anywho, I made myself the sacrificial lamb last week. I'm definitely at least a little bit of an a-hole, but I think I could make a business out of being the ultimate FIL distracter. (Also, because I have a feeling someone will say it, Chad is no more fond of me than he was before. I expect that he'll try even harder to avoid me next time!) EDIT: For those of you asking for Mrs. J's reaction, I can deliver. So, this happened last Saturday, but I only got to meet back up with Alice and Jenny on Wednesday this week. I was meeting them at my apartment for our Wednesday movie extravaganza that we've been doing since sophomore year of university and of course we were chatting about their engagement party. Now, something about me is that I can't keep my mouth shut to save my life, okay? I'm a professional yapper of anything that I haven't been explicitly told not to share. I'm a secret keeper until death, but everything else is fair game unless there's a clear indication that it shouldn't be shared around (embarrassing, excessively personal, etc). Alice said that Mrs. J had commented on their usual phone call that apparently Chad had been pretty upset since the party. Not in a violent way, but in the way a toddler pouts about being put in time-out. I immediately started laughing my butt off about it and shared what had happened that night. Alice was a little upset that Chad had to be corralled into behaving, but was ultimately happy that I put a stop to any antics. Jenny just found it funny in general and asked me if I hire out my services for weddings. Alice also called Mrs. J and put her on speakerphone and said that she had to hear about me 'saving the night.' Mrs. J actually asked me if I wanted payment for it. She said this mostly joking, but I could tell she was at least a little serious. She said that she'd been really anxious for the first half of the night about Chad doing something insane to ruin the night and that it serves him right for being an idiot and that he'd made other comments about my immigration status before. Apparently, they'd gotten into a minor argument the morning of, so she'd been convinced he would lash out somehow. I guess I not only saved the party, but also made Chad chill for the week. I didn't let her pay me of course, but Alice and Jenny dropped off a bottle of vintage red today so I'm happy as a clam I am a little concerned that my actions might have made him a little violent, but I don't think Mrs. J would stay if he did considering she's already plotting divorce. RELEVANT COMMENTS Starting2loseit28 Please tell me that your friends found out so that they can grab you a gift basket for having to deal with the FIL from hell OOP Alice was a little upset that Chad wasn't being nice for the sake of it and that he did have to be heavily corralled by me, but they did find it funny. No gift baskets were given, but I did get a yumalicious bottle of red for my efforts ~ Familiar_Currency156 OP! You are NTA, you are, however a goddamned legend! You put in some serious labor to make sure your friends had an amazing time at their anniversary party, all the while making fucking Chad miserable. And most impressive, you kept him from running his mouth. You did the lords work, OP. Thanks for all you’ve done and continue to do. 🫡 And when/if Chad Chads again, please let us know. I truly enjoy your writing, I just wish it didn’t have to come at your friends’ expense. OOP I didn't keep him from running his mouth entirely, but I did manage to put out any fires he was trying to start. It was a looooong four hours but I'm willing to do it again to preserve Alice and Jenny's peace and quiet for the foreseeable future!! I don't anticipate that Chad will be showing up to any event that I'm also at for a good long while, but maybe I'll plan my due diligence at Thanksgiving if Mrs. J or Alice and Jenny host..... ;) THIS IS A REPOST SUB - I AM NOT THE OOP DO NOT CONTACT THE OOP's OR COMMENT ON LINKED POSTS, REMEMBER - RULE 7 submitted by /u/Direct-Caterpillar77 to r/BestofRedditorUpdates [link] [comments]

I handed him divorce papers today over his reddit account and a bag of chips.
I AM NOT THE OP. The original posts were made byu/Pristine-Librarian31 in r/TrueOffMyChest and on her personal sub. I don't think this needs any trigger warnings/ mood spoilers, except maybe "verbal and financial abuse" - which is pretty much par for the course in reddit posts. If I missed something, please let me know and I'll edit it in. And remember again, folks, NO BRIGADING! Requested trigger warnings: Grooming and verbal/ physical abuse; mention of murder and sexual assault Original Post (Jan 03, 2023) Obviously it goes without saying it wasnt just the bag of chips but hot cheetos were my breaking point. I couldn't take it anymore. I had already had the terms of separation drawn up 6 months ago when during a heated argument he said "We don't have kids, you should be thankful its only me you cleanup after". I kept hearing it in my head. Thankful .. for cleaning up behind a grown man 10 years older than me? He apologized the next day in detail and told me why what he said was wrong and that he doesn't believe it, but maybe its just out of my character but I don't think the things you say in those moments are just hurtful words. Little bit of truth in them. And then I found his reddit account a few days ago. I accidentally saw the username when he showed me a screenshot. I tried (lmao not really) not to memorize it, and it took me two days to get the courage to look. Inbetween the comments on NSFW subreddits was complaints about me, and posts about me too. One post he'd be ripped to shreds and told he was a piece of crap. Reading those comments made me realize I was nothing but a fucking idiot to think love can fix things. I was 20 when I met him and he was 35. I thought people were being dramatic or annoying about our age gap- because my single father who raised me didn't have an issue! But then I realized he was just the same type of fucking creep. It was almost like my father pre-groomed me to accept certain behavior to make it easier for the other men in my life. Im getting off topic but. I came home early today after a rough day at work and finding out my direct reporting manager had been k-worded by her husband. Then walked in the door to see my lazy, filthy one. I told him what happened to her. I started to cry. He didnt console me. He said "We dont know what made him do that, lets wish both of them luck and move on with our day". Wish.. her luck? The fucking dead lady? I tried to convince myself he just didnt pay attention. That soothed me for about an hour. Until I was in the middle of making dinner and he complained that it was already 6:45pm. I told him he shouldn't be that hungry yet, he just ate half a bag of chips and left them on the table. So instead of a) helping me finish dinner b) apologizing and waiting silently and patiently c) finishing the bag of chips or d) just laughing it off, he threw the bag of chips at me. 7 years together, 4 married. And he's never done anything that down right rude, because low self esteem aside thats something that wont fly with me either way. The chips landed all over the floor I had just mopped and swept. Whatever glare I gave him, it was enough to make him grab the broom in 30 seconds. It wasn't enough to make him at least check that it was all swept up and vacuum after. So when I finished dinner and brought our plates to the dinner table, thinking "wow.. I really spoil him. The entire time we've dated, I've always made his plates and brought them right to him. No one has ever done that for me." and I stepped on a chip. It didn't hurt or anything, but I screamed. Not sure why. I just couldn't take it anymore. So, I ran to the home office and came back out with the papers and pen. Put them in front of his dinner plate and walked out while he was yelling my name. I'm killing a burger and fries in my car right now and realizing I have to start all over. My life is done. My love for him is too. I hope I don't cave. I hope I don't let him convince me. I hope if I start to change my mind I come back and read this post so that I understand this is not a heated decision this is something I need to do if I ever want anything like a real fucking life. From the Comments: Redditor: Not to mention if he knows he can treat you however he wants what's to stop him from doing exactly what you bosses husband did to her? (Link) OP: This is all I could really think about. If dinner is late one day, will he hurt me? He's never actually hit me but sometimes he makes that weird jump motion and balls up his fists during arguments. I just couldnt believe he had zero empathy for a woman who was hurt by someone she trusted and shared her life with. I saw her on Monday and never would've thought this could happen. In reply to a heartfelt comment of a woman who went through a similar experience: I'm genuinely so happy to hear things got better for you. It feels almost like (hopefully) future me writing to current me. Especially regarding bodies. I didnt include it, but the reason the burger and fries was so rewarding is that he always persuaded me not to eat it because I'd get fat and he wouldn't love me anymore. So even if I asked for a burger, he would order a grilled chicken sandwich or something. Thank you sincerely for your words. Seeing these & other comments from women who went through the same is helping me so much right now. Redditor: So proud of you for this!!! Leave and never look back. Moments like this are Phoenix moments. Yes, this part is over but a new life and journey has begun. (Link) Update (Jan 04, 2023) (Note from OP: She posted more or less the same update here, too, but the one on her personal sub was the extended version, so I used that.) Okay yeah I wasn't expecting this sort of reaction.. I didnt even log back on reddit and see all of the replies, I was scrolling on tiktok and saw my own post on my fyp which is really weird the algorithm is alogrithiming a bit scary. I really do appreciate the support and kind messages.. dont appreciate the weird men using this as a time to hit on me and send me selfies when I'm obviously in a weak moment. Guess I'm a loser magnet or something. Crazy part is this courage started growing when I saw someone's "wife strike" on tiktok soon after downloading the app during lockdown. Then read the comments and found some sort of solidarity and finally realized I wasn't the problem. I really was just posing it so I could leave for good this time. I'm sorry that my post isnt very concise or thorough, but this isn't the first time I've left him. It's the 4th but its the one for good. I'm done. I've been saving money since I left the first time 2 years ago. I'm not trapped with him anymore. When I left the 2nd time, I knew being a house wife would never give me leverage in our relationship so I got a job. Back then it was just to even the playing field and show him I can earn my keep. Now its literally my saving grace. Half our relationship was built on lies (he told me he was 8 years older at first, then 10, then the truth of it being 15 came out) that I've always tried to get over. Because people "deserve forgiveness" according to my dad, the only person I ever went to besides reddit about advice. I just want know what peace is like in my own home. I went straight from living with my dad to living with my boyfriend/current husband. I can comfortably take blame for how my marriage is. How my life is. My dad may have conditioned and started a lot of it, but I'm old enough to have put my foot down a long time ago. My husband and my father being the only two men I've ever had ANY type of relationship at 27 is my own fault. Sure, I was taught growing up that when men are around don't make eye contact and keep my head down. And I did it always because good girls listen is what I was taught and all I ever knew. How did the wave of feminism keep missing me? How did I allow my father to push away every close female relationship I had? How did I allow both of them to alienate me from the world? Two years ago a woman my age (I think) asked for a tampon in the bathroom and I gave her one and we had a 5 minute conversation of "girl talk" that I gushed over. I played it over and over for months until I realized it was absolutely insane. All she did was ask me what my favorite coffee order was and said I was pretty and she loved my handmade earrings. I had an extra pair in my car and gave them to her and she hugged me. That was it. But I held on to those 5 minutes because it was the last time I had a interaction with a human being that didn't leave me feeling empty. I should've left for good when he told me that getting a masters degree is for men. I should've left when I picked up wood working and simple robotics as hobbies and he told me that I might be transgender, and that he can't be attracted to a woman that wants to be a man. I'm not trans or transphobic, I just like the smell of freshly sawed wood and making new things. I should've left when I got accepted into the best university in the state and he told me that women would be happier if they stopped trying to compete with men. I should've left when my dad died and told me I wasn't "upset enough" about the man who would choke me over burning food and dinner not being good at 11 years old. Our relationship got considerably worse after the wedding when I told him everything my dad had done. I should've left when I got groped at a concert and he bought the guy a drink later. I should've left when his friends said things about my body and he just joined in, and later told me I "shouldnt complain and enjoy the attention while it lasts". I should've left when I told him I wasn't sure if I wanted kids, and he told me I wasn't a real woman if I didn't want them. I should've left when he admitted to having his fellow officers follow me and show up to my job to make sure I was actually where I said I was. I should've left when he gave me the silent treatment for a month when I told him it was controlling and would only communicate via sticky notes. I should've left when I caught him sending nudes to a 19 year old. I definitely should've left him when the same girl replied to his nude photos with telling him how much of a loser he is and saying she felt bad for his wife. Besides being predatory, that one was quite frankly just embarrassing. I guess the reason I stayed so long is that he makes it seem like he's trying. After I caught him sexting, he immediately signed up for sex addict therapy. When he said things that were hateful towards women, I would then see videos in his youtube watch history about unlearning sexism. Watched all the way through. I would think, hey, at least thats way more than my dad ever did. Hey, at least he doesn't hit me. Hey, at least he brings me flowers and takes me on dates often. Men are just like that, I was told. Men have to be respected, I was told. Your husband deserves full trust, I thought. To this day, I'm not sure if he did these to please me temporarily or because he meant it and at least half tried. I made the mistake of not leaving at least a hundred times. I will never make that mistake again. He texted and called nonstop after I left. I went back to our home, his house to get necessities with headphones on and he came out of nowhere and snatched them off my head and destroyed them. Airpod max's I just bought. I just kept packing and ignored everything he said until I realized my passport was gone. He wont admit it but he 100% has it. I know it. He wouldn't sign the papers. We argued a bit and I finally just said it. I don't love you anymore. I can't love someone like you. I'm a grown woman now, and I don't want to be with you anymore. He countered with you can't survive without me. I'm the only man who's ever loved you. You don't have anything without me. I'm the bread winner. This is my house. You have no money, no family, no friends. He's only right about the last two. I told him that we dont have a prenup, and if we divorce with him fighting me on it I'll get half of everything. But if he signs the papers I gave him, it agrees to leave him the house and all furniture, 3 of 4 cars, and 80% of the money in our savings and investments. I can walk away and start over. I want to walk away and start over. He on the other hand, probably needs a retirement plan that isn't young women. Its more than he deserves but I don't want to look at anything I have and be reminded of him. When he realized the yelling and threats wouldn't work, he tried tears. And I almost caved. Then I remembered he was fucking 42 years old on his knees crying about a 27 year old that just wanted to be treated with love, dignity, and respect. I gave him close to a decade of my life. Of nothing but loyalty and love. When he lashed out in anger, I responded with love. I'm all out of love. I picked a random airbnb over state lines so he has little pull here and my job is allowing me to work remotely for now. I can already see a life thats actually worth living coming to me. I have a lot of legal stuff to figure out that will be a headache, but its still a smaller headache than loving him was. I don't think I'll go back. I only use this account for wood working and photos of cows so yeah. Sorry if I am not super responsive, it was a lot of replies, and I'm trying to go through them. Really thank you though to the kind words. I've cried and felt more supported today than I have my entire life. OP hasn't posted or commented any further - I hope she's safe and made sure her ex can't find her (I'm a bit paranoid for her, actually - an abusive armed law enforcement ex, whose wife is finally leaving him, sounds like the beginning of a true crime story). Hopefully, she'll give us updates occasionally, so we can follow her as she starts her new life. She deserves friends and fun and freedom, and I hope she finds all of it! submitted by /u/Corfiz74 to r/BestofRedditorUpdates [link] [comments]

[Web Media] Critical Role and Orion Acaba: How to get kicked out of what is now Twitch's most successful channel so hard, people don't even know you were part of the show
If this post sounds familiar to you, you may remember that this was a topic previously on /r/HobbyDrama in the sweet Summers of 2020. I specifically remember reading this while on vacation. However, the original author seems to have either deleted their account or taken the post down, so I decided to revive the post. Back when Removeedit worked for Reddit posts I could link to the text itself but that unfortunately seems to have shut down. Anyway, let's get into this: What's Critical Role? Beginning in early 2015, Critical Role is a live-streamed game of Dungeons and Dragons helmed by several popular voice actors such as Matthew Mercer (Jotaro Kujo, Leon Kennedy, Maximus from Leo the Lion), Travis Willingham (Thor, Roy Mustang, this store owner in Nip/Tuck) and Laura Bailey (Rise from Persona 4, the Female Boss in Saints Row 3/4, Kaine in Nier). If you were an anime fan watching dubs from the mid 2000s to the mid 2010s or you just played a video game, I guarantee you heard at least one of these actors in something. It's a veritable who's-who of big name voice actors. While recording for Resident Evil 6, Mercer decided to give a birthday present to Liam O'Brien, specifically a one-shot D&D game. This was run in the... controversial... 4th edition version of the game, and presumably after Mercer took a visit to his local exorcist, realized the error of his ways. When O'Brien expressed interest in continuing the game, Mercer agreed and they shifted to Pathfinder. The crew share some stories as they go, with it becoming a frequent thing that gets brought up during convention panels as a fun aside. Back before Vine died it was very common to see the actors making Vines of tabletop moments, and some of the original campaign was preserved through Youtube. The team go by the name Vox Machina- latin for Voice Machine, but initially they operated under the name Super High Intensity Team, or... The SHITS. I will actually be shocked if they refernece that old name in the cartoon. The party for Campaign 1 consisted of: Matt Mercer as DM. Marisha Ray as Keyleth, Half-Elf Druid. Liam O'Brien as Vax, Half-Elf Rogue. Laura Bailey as Vex, Half-Elf Ranger. Travis Willingham as Grog, Goliath Barbarian. Ashley Johnson as Pike, Gnome Cleric. Sam Riegel as Scanlan, Gnome Bard. Taliesen Jaffe as Percy, Human Fighter. Orion Acaba as Tiberius, Dragonborn Sorcerer. Fast forward about two years and Ashley Johnson is at a small party where she meets up with Felicia Day, who is running a nerdy celebrity Youtube channel called Geek and Sundry. Ashley shares some stories about the game and Felicia offers them a show slot on their Twitch channel, seeing potential for this to go far. And as such, on March 3rd, 2015, after an internal conversion to Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition (a move that I'm pretty sure that the 5e team thank God for given how much money they've made that brand), Critical Role would begin its slow, gradual process towards world domination. This first episode is jank and I adore it with every fibre of my soul. Some fans these days say that it's hard to go back to the early episodes because it has none of the grandious production values, or heightened performance quality, or consistent microphone quality. I like to call those people cowards. It is full of audio peaks and them blowing their mics out and I fucking love it. It has a chaotic, rabid energy to it that feels exactly like a D&D game that went off the rails and now we're carving a path into the unknown with nothing to our names but a half-empty bottle of Pepsi, a mixtape blaring in the radio and a sense of pure energy. This is my jam. I like early Critical Role because it is a chaotic janky mess. This feels like D&D in its rawest form. The viewers are dropped in, after a quick video describing the basics of the cast, into the middle of Vox Machina's next adventure- a friend of a friend went missing in a quest into the forboding depths of the Underdark, and the team are hired to either bring back this ally, Paladin Lady Kima, or bring back a body. It's during this time that we introduce the true "star" of the show. The often-forgotten part of the initital team, and one of the new modern faces of the That Guy archetype at tabletop games: Orion Acaba. Hello, I'm Tiberius Stormwind, from Draconia! Orion Acaba is best known for his roles as Apollo Justice in some of the Ace Attorney games and playing Rico Rodriguez in Just Cause 4, alongside Tiberius and often being a guy you see listed as "Generic Mook #45." In an interview on the Geek and Sundry site released on October 22th 2015, Orion discusses how when he joined Matt's initial campaign, he inquired as to if anyone had chosen to play a spellcasting class. After some deliberation, he settled on playing the Sorcerer, a class that can be surmised as the phrase "burning twice as bright for half the length." In terms of the party, Tiberius was a Dragonborn who hailed from the country of Draconia. The son of an influential personality, Tiberius set out on his own to gather and chronicle magical artifacts, which led to him joining Vox Machina as magic items and D&D parties are drawn to each other like magnets. As a Sorcerer, Tiberius largely offered a share of magical benefits- buffing the party, access to several traversal spells like teleportation circles, academic know-how and most importantly, raw firepower. In the early episodes of the show, Tiberius was actually quite popular and a standout of the first arc for many at the time. Orion settled into the streaming side of Critical Role very quickly, being very bombastic and energetic to watch while also having some big cool spells. One of the benefits of Vox Machina being a pre-existing campaign before the streaming started was that the team started at roughly halfway through the level curve of D&D. This meant that rather than the usual slow start, the gang hit the ground running with a lot of powerful abilities and items, which suits Tiberius especially fine as it means he can casually drop a fireball as a hello greeting. But even at this point looking back, while it was overshadowed by other events or just brushed aside as the usual awkward moments that come with D&D and its improvisational nature, the cracks began to show with Orion and testing the team's patience. By this point, the team have found Kima alive after some torture and decide to go after a local infestation of Mind Flayers. During this, the party discover that a Beholder (basically a glove with eye-stalks that include several nasty anti-magic lockdown powers) has set up and they ready to fight. Except Tiberius, who says he'll sit this one out. No real reason is given in-character, Orion is just metagaming (i.e. using knowledge he has as a real person that his character would not) having read the Beholder's stat block so he knows that Tiberius will be limited in fighting it. Orion would later admit that he did this because his view of tabletop games was that they were a conflict between DM and player- Orion saw the Beholder not as a challenging but rewarding boss fight, but instead Matt trying to wipe out some players. This actually gets blowback from two other party members- Taliesen Jaffe, playing human Gunslinger Pervical de Rolo and Sam Riegel, playing Gnome Bard Scanlan Shorthalt. When Taliesen presses Orion after the fight on why he stayed behind, Orion (and I do stress Orion here, this was out of character), snarls at him to back off, and when Sam/Scanlan calls him out for leaving the party high and dry, Tiberius ducks out of the conversation by using the Silence spell to lock him down: SAM: Well, you weren’t there when we needed you the most. You were out doing God-knows-what. ORION: Quite the contrary. If it wasn’t for me, you’d still be fighting that damn thing. SAM: What on earth are you talking about? ORION: Silence. SAM: Dispel Magic. Yes, I did. ORION: Counterspell. SAM: Do I have a will save? ORION: No, you’re done, you’re quiet. While Tiberius was established as socially awkward and haughty, his locking Scanlan down with a silent spell to avoid an awkward conversation does ring differently with the benefit of hindsight. There's a later scene in Episode 16 where there's a puzzle that can only be solved by a near-impossible archery shot. Vex (Laura Bailey's character), the team's Ranger and desigated sniper, lines up for the shot. The cast pile on buffs to give her every edge she can for the shot, Laura's got everyone cheering for her, she rolls a Natural 20, the cheers begin to cry out... And Orion chimes in by saying "I cast Telekinesis to guide her arrow in." (shout out to the CR Transcript team for this) LAURA: All right. (laughs) Oh, no. Okay. I add my attack bonus? MATT: Yes, you do. SAM: Plus an inspiration. LAURA: Plus an inspiration dice? MATT: Plus a d10. ORION: Oh, shit. MARISHA: (whispering) It’s so quiet. ORION: I know. LAURA: Oh, that’s awesome! Okay. 35. (yelling) TRAVIS: Good inspiration. MATT: As you release the arrow, you see the pillars slamming. The pillar comes down just as the arrow crests over it, past another pillar that just barely manages to miss it by a segment. ORION: I cast Telekinesis to swoop it up. (whoosh) SAM: Oh, god. ORION: Just to help and guide it. ASHLEY: No, but it’s already gone in. TRAVIS: We don’t need it! We don’t need it! LAURA: Oh, let me just see if I got it first! LIAM: She rolled a 35, we don’t need shit. ORION: It’s going in there, anyway. I don’t even have to roll. Matt rolls with this to the best of his ability- he doesn't wanna cause a fuss so he describes how the arrow starts to riccochet off the entrance only for a telekinetic force to guide it in. But the immediate reactions do show that the cast were unhappy with Orion's "Help." Laura had rolled a thirty five for a success, it was in the bag no matter what, but Orion felt the urge to show that he helped. Had he said it if Laura had rolled low, that would be one thing. Had he asked "would you like me guide it in with telekinesis if your shot fails to connect," that would be another. Swooping in right as everyone cheers so he can feel essential? Well that's where people begin to get annoyed. Now again, at the time, this was nothing, but looking back it and the Beholder metagaming serve as the first real instances of Orion's behavior- a trait that many D&D fans refer to as "Main Character Syndrome." The gist of it is quite self-explanatory: MC Syndrome is when a player is convinced that they are the protagonist of the story and that they must be the best character at the table. It can be limelight hogging, it can be kill-stealing, it can be dragging the game to a halt for extended roleplay, but the traits can be seen a mile away. And the red flags around Orion/Tiberius are a startling shade of crimson. The rest of the Underdark arc concludes, the team get some downtime to shop (which allows Matt to introduce some of the supporting cast from the campaign such as flamboyant merchant Gilmore and the political situation of the gang's home base, Emon) and some quick setup for the next big arc is when Percy overhears a letter being sent "to the Briarwoods." There is a short filler arc set in the religious megacity of Vasselheim, where Vox Machina piss off the local monster hunter guild, the Slayer's Take, by doing a contract that had already been assigned. The team are told to do some jobs to make up for what they did, leading to half the party getting a cool boss fight against a dragon, the B team were sent to hunt a Rakshasa. Orion proves to be a Rash-asha in Matt's backside Rakshasa are dangerous mid-tier foes in D&D. Resembling tigers with reversed palms, they're accomplished shapeshifters, masters of deception and capable of holding a long grudge. If a Rakshasa dies, it painfully regenerates in a pit of hell, wherein it decides to get painful revenge on its murderer. Oh and also they can't be hurt by magic from below a 6th level spell, which you only begin getting access to at level thirteen. So not a great combo for Orion and Tibs. Orion doesn't help during a stop-gap fight by impatiently burning his higher level resources, leaving him without any real way to hurt the Rakshasa. During the hunt for one named Hotis, Tiberius asks that the party stop for an entire night's rest so that he can recharge some spells. The team bluntly describe this as stupid and tell him that they're not gonna wait: MARISHA: Why did you burn all of your sorcerer points? We told you not to burn all of your sorcerer points. We don’t have time to sit here and take a full rest. (Orion's commentary was not transcribed as he was leaning past his microphone, but he's asking if the party would let him do a full 8 hour rest to recover his magic) MARISHA: You can ask the group, but I have a feeling that Vax and Thorbir aren’t going to want to take a full rest down here. During the fight itself, confusion breaks out further as Orion seems to deliberately misread an item granted to him, a Ring of Spell Storing. Long story short, the ring lets a caster store up to four levels of magic- so one big blast of a 4th level spell, two 2nd levels, four 1st levels, etc. Orion used the ring as if it granted four fourth level spells, prompting Matt, getting visibly short with him, to have to stop a fight to explain to Orion how the item worked. (fan thread here which includes actual math and discussion showing that during these episodes, Orion used far more spell slots than he should have) Another of Orion's bad habits became realized by the fandom during this fight, which was Orion lying dice roll results when luck didn't bless him. Fans noticed as far back as the Underdark arc instances wherein Orion would blatantly re-roll bad dice, and it seemed that during the Rakshasa fight, Orion's behavior led to a behind the scenes conversation. It became apparant later that Marisha and Taliesen had been tasked with babysitting Orion's rolls, as they frequently kept an eye out for the remainder of Orion's episodes to make sure he was telling the truth. In a thread after episode 40 when the show was accused of faking dice rolls for drama, Matt would personally chime in with a now-deleted comment confirming that the dice weren't faked and that "The only player who fudged rolls is no longer part of the show.

Long term effects of magnetic lashes
Hello! I have been seeing magnetic lash usage getting more popular but I am skeptical of the effects it might have on our eyelids. I have sensitive skin but it tolerates lash adhesives well. Has anyone used it for a while and noticed any problems? Which brands are your favorites? submitted by /u/AtlasOfDreams to r/MakeupAddiction [link] [comments]
