Remember me? :) sculptra + fanning subcision
EDIT: These photos show the before and after: the “befores” are from 1.5 years ago, prior to ALL of my treatments, and the “afters” are from today in the morning. Fraxels gave me so much improvement overall over the span of a year (except for the temple area) and then this most recent treatment of the sculptra gave me the most improvement in my temples, which fraxel couldn’t do even after 5 treatments. It has been a long journey. Even with the huge improvements I've had, I still have bad skin days depending what I eat and how oily I am. For me, oiliness= more pronounced scars. Also, my scars look worse in the evening when I’m more oily. Skin is a reflection of diet, and when I eat clean and drink a lot of water, and exercise, my skin looks brighter, smoother, and overall more glowy. Hi everyone!!! I posted about a year ago sharing my acne scar progress. I later updated that post to clarify that my seemingly amazing results from Fraxel Dual were actually just due to micro-swelling. Since then (over about 1.5 years), I’ve done 4 more Fraxels (one combined with Morpheus8), one UltraClear laser, and another Morpheus8 session just for my temples. I kept going because my derm reassured me my scars would continue improving—but I was getting increasingly frustrated, especially since my temple scars weren’t responding like the rest of my face. I told my derm I was worried that all these energy-based treatments might have thinned the skin in my temple area too much, which is why those rolling scars weren’t improving the same way. I’ve gotten a lot of messages from you guys, so I wanted to share a full update: Fraxel (5 sessions total): • Forehead scars: \~70% improvement • Cheek rolling scars(these have always been very shallow): \~50% improvement • Temples: \~25% improvement UltraClear: I didn’t notice any visible change or improvement after 3 months. Let’s say it maybe helped my scars 10% as I’m sure it had to do something…. Morpheus8: I personally didn’t notice any improvement in my scars. It did have a temporary “tightening” effect but I noticed this definitely faded after a few weeks and my scars somehow molded back to their original depth. At this point, I was still really frustrated with my temples. I was hoping to get them to at least 85–90% improvement (this is the area I’m most self-conscious about), and around 80% overall for my face. Luckily, I have a sister in Mexico who’s a doctor, and she connected me with one of her dermatologist friends. Her name is Dr. Yareni Salas in Roma Sur, CDMX. She treated my scars with 1 vial of Sculptra using a fanning subcision technique, concentrated mostly in my temples, plus micro-injections of Sculptra into individual forehead scars. She did not do a full subsicion treatment, but I could hear all of fibrosis popping when she injected the sculptra across all of my face with the cannula. Honestly, this has been the biggest improvement I’ve seen from anything I’ve tried. The “glow” I have now is something I used to only see the day after using my tretinoin at night. But now my skin looks like that EVERY SINGLE day since the treatment. My scar depth has noticeably improved, especially in my temples. I’d say this finally got me to around 85% improvement in my temples, which is exactly what I was hoping for. My forehead and shallow cheek scars also look much smoother. And as a plus, this treatment in Mexico was WAY cheaper than 1 fraxel in the U.S. It’s only been one month, and I know results will continue to improve because sculptra is a bio stimulator that tells your body to produce more collagen. so I’m feeling really hopeful. Usually sculptra’s results will last up to 2 years due to natural aging, so maintenance will be required but I’m okay with that if the result is this consistent glow. I will keen you guys posted. Of course, good skincare and microdosing accutane has played a huge role…but that’s been consistent for the past 2 years. I’ve been religious with sunscreen, tretinoin, azelaic acid, and gentle cleansing twice a day. I also use other actives (vitamin C, AHA/BHA, hyaluronic acid, etc.) a couple times a week, but I’m not as consistent with those. Please let me know if you have any questions, and feel free to refer to my last posts for more details and photos during my prior treatments. As a reminder, I had already tried several sessions of normal microneedling, skin peels, etc before all of these treatments. submitted by /u/Teachmeyourwaysplz to r/AcneScars [link] [comments]

Microdosing accutane
Curious to learn about anyone’s side effects with microdosing accutane! I was living in Spain for 4 months and utilized their healthcare system, got in to see a dermatologist for $30 and prescribed accutane ($30 for 1 year lolll). They do it a little differently over there by ONLY doing microdosing - I’m at 60mg A WEEK (20mg 3x throughout the week), for 10-11 months. Curious if anyone has experience with microdosing accutane and if you experienced side effects / good results - they’re adamant on doing it this way to offset side effects, take some of the load of off the liver, while achieving the same results. Any experience with microdosing?? submitted by /u/Sweet_Antelope6030 to r/Accutane [link] [comments]

Microdose accutane for mild rosacea
Has anyone tried microdose Accutane for mild rosacea? I was on Accutane about seven years ago and my skin stay clear for about five years. Recently, after doing a Vbeam treatment I had a bad flareup of my rosacea. That was about four months ago and I’m still dealing with it. Apparently I had a seb derm flare on my forehead and type 2 rosacea flare on my cheeks. I have been on minocycline for three months, used topical antifungal, topical antibiotics azealic acid and it seems like nothing is working like it used to. It’s incredibly depressing. I cannot stay on the antibiotics because they’re giving me fungal issues . . . Has anyone microdose Accutane with success? For reference, my skin currently is combination, oil in some places and dry in others submitted by /u/HotNFun30 to r/Rosacea [link] [comments]

Microdosing accutane on tret
I just wanted to share my experience with starting isotretinoin (accutane) while on tret. I was taking tret for a few months before bringing the iso in. I had some purging/dry skin for the first few weeks of tret but nothing during the iso introduction. Ive been taking 10mg/day (75kg) for around 4 months now, along with daily 0.025% tret gel. For reference the normal dose for me would be about 60mg. The only side effect I think I'm getting from iso is slightly dry lips and eyes. I think the low dose combined with the fact I was already taking tret was the reason I was able to skip the purge. My acne has basically gone completely now, just some redness left. Although I did not have much beforehand... From my experience I would 100% recommend microdosing isotretinoin. I actually believe a LOT of people in Hollywood/super rich do this, although that's mostly just based on anecdotal sources. 3 months of tret reduced my acne, but my skin was far from perfect. Adding the tiny 10mg dose of isotretinoin brought it to exactly where I wanted it to be. Hopefully this helps someone. Edit: I am self medicating (although doses like this are prescribed regularly). submitted by /u/jojointwickers to r/tretinoin [link] [comments]

Low-dose Accutane is having a moment — same results, fewer side effects. Anyone else microdosing?
What if there was a way to use one of dermatology's most powerful tools for acne with a refined approach that prioritizes both results and your comfort? Enter low-dose Accutane. Instead of the usual 0.5-1 mg/kg per day, some dermatologists are using 10–20 mg daily or even a few times a week, aiming to hit the same cumulative dose over a longer period. So what are the key differences? Comparable long-term results Fewer side effects Better tolerated for chronic or sensitive-skin patients Basically, it’s the same science, just stretched out over 12-24 months instead of 6-8. The idea is that your body adjusts more gently, and you can stay consistent without burning out. Anyone here tried low-dose Accutane? Would love to hear how it’s going for you. submitted by /u/Honeydew_Admin to r/Honeydew_Journey [link] [comments]

Can I microdose accutane and still see results?
I’m thinking of trying low dose accutane (10mg - twice a week) to target my very stubborn sebaceous filaments. I’m terrified of hair loss though as I already have AGA and will start oral minoxidil & spiro at some point. Is this dose enough to see results ? I’m on tretinoin twice a week and peeling terribly - it’s been a couple of months and I’m yet to see results. I’ve also done 3 sessions of cool peel skinlaser and it did nothing to my blackheads and pore size. Accutane is my only hope but I can’t risk hair loss. submitted by /u/nxxray to r/Accutane [link] [comments]

Clear Health and microdosed accutane
I’ve had cystic acne since seventh grade. I am now in my thirties. I tried everything to remedy it- from topicals like benzoyl peroxide to oral doxycycline. My mom never let me go on accutane because she was afraid of the side effects. Six months ago I started the Micro dose of accutane prescribed from ClearHealth. In about three weeks I saw major improvements, and now I’m completely acne free. I can fall asleep with makeup on and not get a single pimple. Please please please do yourself a favor and try it. The microdose has way milder side effects than the old doses that used to be prescribed. I just get chapped lips and have to wear a sun hat. submitted by /u/Alert_Safe2201 to r/HelloClearHealth [link] [comments]

Experience/opinions on indefinite microdose of accutane
Does anyone have experience or medical opinions on maintaining a steady microdose (e.g. 5mg daily) over long periods of time? This would seem like an effective path even post proper cumulative dose, especially for someone who has relapsed before. I'm sure most dermas would be reluctant to do it as there isnt a ton of medical literature on this. submitted by /u/Known-Pomegranate918 to r/Accutane [link] [comments]

Microdosing accutane for light/mild acne
As the title says. I got to the point where I already tried everything else and nothing works. I went to dermatologist and they told me to take 20mg twice a day. I think its WAAAAY too much, went I told him about microdosing he didn’t like the idea too much, I was planning 10mg a day maximum for about a couple of weeks to a month then stopping. I have 2 friends that took, same situation as mine, but one took 20mg for 2 weeks and the other one 20mg for about a month, its been about a year and their acne hasn’t come back. Question about side effects, have any of you have any serious side effect by taking 10mg a day? I really don’t trust doctors when it comes to side effects, so I want to do my own research with people who had issues, and I want to hear your suggestions too. To be honest I’ve taken accutane before as a teenager, but now 16 years later Im an adult and Im really afraid of having some type of irreversible damage EDIT: Changed my mind, I’m not going to take accutane no matter what submitted by /u/Virtual_Contact5875 to r/AccutaneRecovery [link] [comments]

low dose/microdose of accutane
hi everybody! ive been debating about taking low doses of accutane since my acne got a lot better with skincare but im still left with some stubborn comedones and things of the sort. i am going to take this topic to my dermatologist cuz i dont do anything to my skin without talking to her, but since she is pretty expensive to make an appointment with i thought it could be good to clear up some doubts here. thinking of a low dosage of accutane like: 2-3 times a week, either a normal dose pill or a low dose pill. would i be able to tan in the sun? i love to go to the beach and tan, although i dont do it very often. does microdosing avoids the photosensitivity that accutane normally gives you? would i be able to drink alcoholic beverages? im not a person that really likes to drink, i could easily go a long period of time without drinkin, so i wonder if on a microdose it would be ok to have a drink or two every other weekend. (really, a never drink more than 2 in a day). thanks to anyone who takes time to answer my questions! submitted by /u/marimarinamarina to r/Accutane [link] [comments]

Microdosing accutane???
Hey y’all, I’ve just completed my accutane journey and my doctor is giving me an option to continue taking accutane by microdosing it. Does anyone have experience with this? This is my second time on accutane, and after completing my first course, my acne came back after a year or two. I’m definitely interested in microdosing because of this but curious about peoples experiences! Like the dose, frequency, side effects, etc. submitted by /u/h-e-r-e to r/Accutane [link] [comments]

Microdose Accutane
Hello! I was recently on 40 mg 1X/day and stopped after 3 months due to some uncomfortable side effects, GI & liver soreness- which have relived for the most part. Doctor & Derm arent concerned at all about lab work and had no concern the medication was causing any damage. I’m noticing some acne starting to come back and was looking at people microdosing accutane (with their derms approval). Either taking 10-20 mg everyday or 10 mg 2-5 times a week. Does anyone have any experience with microdosing accutane? submitted by /u/Mysterious-Serve-893 to r/Accutane [link] [comments]

1.5 months progress (40mg per week microdose)
So I really had no intentions of taking progress pics because I'd gotten so used to avoiding makeup-free selfies at any cost (even if they were just for me to see). But I just couldn't believe this was actually my skin when I looked in the mirror today and felt like I just had to document it. I'm nearly 37 and I can't believe I let myself suffer for 24 years before embracing accutane. Apologies for my goofy looking mouth in the first set (I was biting my tongue in concentration, haha). The second set of photos were taken about six weeks ago, right before taking my first dose (at my dermatologist's urging). This was after most of my foundation had melted/flaked off my skin midway through the day (as it did most days), but overall, I had actually considered that a great skin day as I had no active cysts. Still, my skin was so congested, inflamed, and angry all the time, even when it was in "healing" mode. Basically, as long as I had no active, painful explosions, I considered myself blessed. I would say my acne was mild-moderate but maddeningly persistent, and it just always looked...unhealthy? There was nothing I'd tried up to this point that managed to yield anything but the most temporary of results (and trust, I have tried EVERYTHING under the sun). I was determined to microdose from the beginning, and am planning on staying on it for as long as I can—ideally lowering to a maintenance dosage of 10-20mg a week. I've only taken a total of 40mg a week for the last six weeks (10mg on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays). I take it with a big spoonful of peanut butter and a claritin. I also take NAC and Milk Thistle for extra liver support. Plenty of water, obviously. I've honestly had ZERO side effects that I'm aware of—not even bothersome dryness, really. Though I do keep myself properly slugged pretty much whenever I'm home. My topical routine is exceedingly simple and gentle. Topical Routine: PM—double cleanse with baby shampoo, apply about a quarter-sized pour of pure vegetable glycerine to very damp skin and let it air-dry, then slug with vaseline AM—splash with cold water, mix a nickel-sized pour of vegetable glycerine in my wet hand with a small shake of l-ascorbic acid powder from The Ordinary, mix it well, apply it all over my still damp face, and let air dry before GENEROUS globs of SPF 50 everywhere that isn't covered with clothing. No makeup but lip gloss and a bit of mascara occasionally (makes SPF re-application easier). https://preview.redd.it/17g1kk89k91d1.png?width=1958&format=png&auto=webp&s=eced4b293b489ae678d9788ea21e7955681e2698 https://preview.redd.it/b3jeop5ak91d1.png?width=1368&format=png&auto=webp&s=0bbda767dc0a72843a0087557f8c1102bca21eee submitted by /u/As_A_Feather to r/Accutane [link] [comments]

Thoughts on microdosing accutane? [miscellaneous]
Thoughts on microdosing accutane? I didn’t know this was a thing, but apparently everything is microdosed now. So I guess I’m not surprised. I saw this reel https://www.instagram.com/reel/CzYwqGNuvoH/?igshid=NzBmMjdhZWRiYQ== About wondering if celebs perfect skin is due to microdosing accutane. When I first started watching the video I thought I mean they have the money to do literally any treatment they need and access to any product they want. Seems like skincare has really grown a lot over the last decade and they’re doing various things, not microdosing accutane, but there’s no real evidence behind that. But I’m curious peoples thoughts on this. Also has anyone done this? submitted by /u/espressomartinipls to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]
