Jesus h Christ I’m In a rage. So it starts that I leave my card in the inside machine in PTSB and they rang and said collect it whenever. 18 days later I go over and also am carrying 600€ worth of bagged coins ‘. So they basically told me “oh we destroy cards after a month” I’m like ok but it’s not a month and now I have to get a new card. That’s grand. But… I am holding onto this money in coins since Xmas as I save doing the 1-52 week challenge every year, it’s 20 miles drive to that bank and I’m told we are cashless sorry. So I go ok. Get me a new card and I’ll hump these coins home. So today I decided to drive to another town to lodge the same bagged coins. I check and it’s closed at 5. I also have lots of notes so I get it all ready and off I go, I drag the money over and it’s 3.30 and I’m told “oh sorry cash desk is closed” at this stage now I’m fucking raging and I turned into a mini Karen. They just said tough and we can’t do anything. There were 4 of them in offices just sitting down. So I go to lodge the notes and out of 3 machines there was only 1 working and I literally had the sweats as people were queuing behind me tutting and I’m stressed out of my bin, so now I’m back home with my bagged 2€ and 1€ coins and I’m thinking how the actual fuck is society functioning when you can’t even bloody lodge money into your account anymore. Just completed a "Girls Only" run and it was so much fun.
Back on Sunday on International Women's Day, I thought it would be fun to a do a "girls only" playthrough where I only recruit female companions. I decided to turn into a challenge run and have a strict "no men in camp" rule and side with women on most questlines. That means talking to very little men during the entire run. There were a few exceptions made of course. Withers had to stay (after all, with his big naturals, he is pretty much one of the girls). I also made exceptions for Dammon because I wanted Karlach to be happy. I also spared Rolan because I love him too much. I decided to play as a Sorcerer because I wasn't going to reclass any companions and without Gale, I needed some AOE magic. I played with a few mods (no party limit, extra encounters/mini-bosses, polyamory). Here's how the run went (spoilers): The game started out by ignoring Astarion, leaving Gale in the rock, and ignoring Wyll in the grove. Since I wasn't going to recruit Halsin, I sided with Kagha to drive the tieflings out by clearing out the goblin camp. On my way, I recruited Karlach and then killed Wyll once he arrived in camp that night. I didn't want Volo in my camp, so I kept him in cage. I knocked out Minthara and then celebrated my victory by spending time with Karlach and Lae'zel. No need to go to the Underdark, so on to the creche, I took the egg and kept Lae'zel loyal to Vlaaktih. When this random man appeared in camp that night and questioned my girl's faith in my Queen, I made sure to kill him quickly. Act 2 was fairly linear. I initially headed straight to Moonrise Towers to save Minthara and then head to Last Light Inn. Saved Isobel from Marcus and then proceeded to the Gauntlet of Shar. On my way, I noticed the devil Raphael waiting by the entrance, so I snuck up to him and attacked him to make him disappear and avoid conversation (I wasn't going do his dirty work anyway). Killed Balthazar, spared the Nightsong, and then recruited Jaheira back on Moonrise Towers. Oh yeah, I finally got to make love to Karlach and be the source of Lae'zel's bruises. Since I did not have Gale, Wyll, or Astarion in my party, Act 3 was pretty streamlined for me. When Vlaakith appeared in camp, I read her mind to realize she was using my Lae'zel and was planning to consume her, so I convinced Lae'zel to turn away. However, that suddenly made Lae'zel boy-crazy and all she couldn't stop talking about was this guy Orpheus who we just met a few minutes. The choice became clear. I had to kill Orpheus. After that, I told Rapheal to stick his deal up his ass as I headed further into Baldur's Gate. The only tough part of the run was figuring out how to keep Jaheira in my party but not recruit Minsc. If you ignore the High Harper quest completely or kill Minsc, she will automatically leave, however if you initiate the quest at Wyrm's Crossing and then don't bother to find Minsc, Jaheira will end up staying. Gortash was the first to go and then Orin. I decided to make a detour before saving Shadowheart's parents and kill Cazador (because you know... men). In the House of Hope, I killed that dirty devil Raphael but made sure to leave the hammer behind. It ended with me siding with the Emperor, passed a DC30 check to keep Lae'zel from going hostile, and eventually killing the Elder Brain. Both my girlfriends left me (one went to hell, the other to fight Vlaakith), so the ending I was pretty much all alone. Overall, it was one of the most fun playthroughs I've ever done and made think outside the box on a lot of questlines. 2025 is basically over. This year you probably had plans, chaos, procrastination, tiny wins, maybe a few meltdowns in between This thread is for a quick pause before we step into 2026 – and for starting the new year with clear intentions + small, realistic steps, not just “new year, new me” vibes. I’d love you to share 4 things in the comments: 1️⃣ What’s the most important thing you learned in 2025? This doesn’t have to be academic at all: “No one is coming to save me; if I don’t move, nothing moves.” “Saying no to more things actually lets me do more.” “Trying to be a hero while sleep-deprived is just dumb.” One sentence is enough. Just be honest. 2️⃣ What do you want most from 2026? Throughout 2026, what would you love to say “I did it” about? Passing an exam? Finishing your degree? Moving city/country? Finally shipping a side project? Or just having a calmer, more stable life? I made a “Savings Bingo” challenge to make saving more fun 🎯💰
I’ve been experimenting with gamified ways to stay motivated while saving, and I created a Savings Bingo in Google Sheets: a 5x5 grid of mini saving tasks (like “skip takeout” or “transfer $10 to savings” or "turn lights off"). The “Topsy Turvy Team Takeover” is a three week mini-event hosted by the IAC, testing your OC knowledge and creativity! The Challenge is split into 3 parts, with each part giving you more and more points as you progress through the event! The challenge Begins Today, Monday, August 11th and Ends Sunday, August 31st! You can take part at any point within the challenge’s duration. With a subredddit like this, new original characters are posted every day! There are bound to be some OCs that catch your eye, intrigue you, or even wow you! And after all, it’s always fun to make new friends with common interests! Its happening!
Mini update: i have to get to bed but i wanted to thank everyone who reached out. I feel more loved here than i ever have. I am already in my local Buy Nothing group and we plan on doing thrift shops as well! I have a lot of calls to make tomorrow because of the numerous comments here with other resources i didnt know existed!! I will for sure update again once we get into the place. We get keys and sign lease tomorrow (Tuesday) tjen move in Wednesday because thats the soonest Delmarva (my electric co) can turn on the power. I cant wait to share everything. I hope to never experience this kind of low again. I know it will be tough with new challenges now but this will work. It has to. 💙💙 Due to a horrible divorce a few years ago, my kids and i have been living in a motel. I work full time, dont quailfy for food stamps, paying an insane amount of rent and car payments, and kids with medical issues etc made it impossible to find a rental. There was no way to save for the moving cost and down payments etc. BUT. Finally. We found a rental. A realtor who owns a property. Its small, but perfect. My kids can stay in their schools, its close to my work. And its less than this motel room! I inquired about it and thankfully he has a heart and was willing to give me a much needed chance to prove im a good tenant who pays rent on time and im quiet. I dont party. I work, take care of my kids, sleep, then work again. (And im ok with that! My ideal Saturday night is jammies and movies with my babies and a Wednesday sandwhich picnic blowing bubbles etc) We move in 2 days. I havent stopped crying. We have nothing to move with but we are finally moving up. It will all come in time. No furniture, just our clothes. But its happening. Challenger Garen Grasper Sunlight Mini-guide
Hello, gamers. Since people have asked for it, I felt like it should be a proper time to make a mini guide on grasp given that I have officially reached this season using mainly only Grasp. Most of you guys know me as I am súnlight, one of, if not, the best garen world. I've been multi season challenger maining garen, as well as pioneering other picks like thresh top/asol top in previous seasons. https://www.op.gg/summoners/na/I%20am%20S%C3%BAnlight-NA1 People who have come into my stream have asked numerous times about the grasp when to take it/why its good so Ill do a short guide about it that can be used to clear up some confusion. Firstly, RUNES "Why Grasp?" "You trolling?" With the introduction of grubs + toplane being harder to gank, having fighting pressure early has never been better. This means that taking pr, has usually become harder to scale given the nature of needing to apply lane pressure for grubs or in general. If you have your jungler, winning lane means free grubs which translates into really good splitting. If you dont have your jungler, but having winning lane, this translates into mess with enemy jungler taking grubs slowing down jungler progression while HOPEFULLY yours get pressure elsewhere OR cheesing some free w stacks from the grubs. So this leads to again the question "Why Grasp?" "Just do conqueror" The Grasp Tree is significantly better as a rune tree and for Garens playstyle than conqueror. The best Runes from the conqueror tree are of course conq, triumph, tenacity, and Last Stand . Going down each rune: Conq - you get ad per attack/spin ramping up to 12 stacks, this rune gives you damage for long trades and is great with champs that can use the steroid consistently, garen can't use this consistently not only because garens playstyle of Q into E leads to having no way to use the fully stack conq besides autoing after, but also due to the fact if fighting i.e. riven, she W Es you as you go to Q her and the trade is over. Champs that have mobility to escape garens trade destroy conq Garen. Triumph - doesnt help with laning in any scenario (no stats/no damage amp), and the gold you get from kills is 20 considering to get it, you need to kill the opponent Tenacity - This is argueably the best rune for the conq tree and only real reason imo to take the tree if at any time against like 3 beefcake champs with tons of cc. But if they dont have cc then your next best choic is attack speed which is cool, but doesnt work on spins so very little value comes out of the rune. Last Stand - This rune is so anti-garen its insane, the runes damage amp is nice on any fight to the death characters, but character playstyle doesnt fit that. He excels in short trades, getting in and out and healing up. So if youre characters playstyle is to trade then use passive to heal up, the value of this rune plummets. Not to mention the damage amp doesnt work on garen r, which if it did would be the saving grace of this tree. ALTERNATIVELY look at grasp Tree Grasp - Every 4 seconds you get an empowered auto that deals max hp damage, Heals for max hp, and gives you PERMANENT 7 hp per stack. This rune procs on Garen Q and fits nicely with garen considering all you have to do is auto minions to stack ( for wave prio) then if they step up you Q grasp and the trade is done. If you want to continue of course you can E and at the end of E your grasp will be ready to go again. Whats better is that for each stack you get youre adding to your permanent hp meaning, more tankiness given garens W resistance farming mechanic, Bigger W shield, passive healing, grasp, as well as hullbreaker proc (in items). Now using the same matchup as before, Riven goes to W E, you get the Q off with grasp. Itll break the shield cause of Q max and you walk away with 7 hp permantently. Hp in this game can be considered as gold through ruby crystals stats meaning each time you get a grasp proc its like getting 18 Gold worth of stats. Its like taking first strike without having to grief your rune page! Demolish - This rune is so astronomically broken, its crazy it hasnt been nerfed yet. It does 100 + 35% max hp to a tower. This rune pairs greatly with garen and gives garen the power to take turrets in seconds. Pairing this up with grasp means more hp for the proc = fast tower taking/gold income generation. One demolish proc on a plate is equivalent to 6 triumps procs of gold. Conditioning - Given the nature of the game, Hullbreaker lost its armor and mr. As well as rune choices have become only hp, so coming across armor and magic resistantce without buying tank items is harder to come buy. Conditioning fixes this problem and compliments garens w stacking mechanic well, giving back much needed resistances that allow you to scale into an unkillable split pusher. Second Wind - this rune is only good into dot enemy champs, I suggest taking conditioing 99% unless like fighting darius. Second wind is really good against darius passive especially if you plan on fighting him early. Overgrowth - Og has become a stable, this entire build revolves around hp hp hp. So now your grasp gives you hp, which paired with your two scaling hp runes as well as og plus multiplication. You easily get up to insane amounts of hp from your runes alone, Im talking 500-600 easy and more so with grasp procs. Overgrowth just adds onto the hp fantasy. Secondary Runes are going to be free boots/Cosmic insight. Free boots - Save money from not having to buy boots + work on main item focus which is grasp + 10 ms upon completition. Its super cost effective and allows for a better transition come mid game. Cosmic Insight - Reduction on summoner spells for garen? That sounds broken, cause it is. Being able to flash more or ignite more allows for surprise kill windows that without taking cosmic wouldnt allow for. Now flashing and the enemy flashing your flash is always a win for you because youll have it up before them. Pair this rune with ionian and it feels like youre cheating. For minis I suggest ad, Hp scaling, Hp Scaling. Example Rune page - Grasp Garen Staple WHY GAREN Q MAX? With Garens recent buffs, Q max is objectively the best ability to max. If you don't start playing grasp, then at least take away Q maxing. Comparing the abilities, for each point in q you get 30 damage plus .65 extra second of movement speed. Comparatively, if you level e, you get 4 damage plus 1% ad. Now without the empowered, garen spins 7 times early game so 7 X 5 (1% being 1 extra damage). Thats 35 damage. Mind you this is over the course of 3 seconds. So its a 5 damage lost in total BUT the tradeoff is .65 extra movement speed and the damage being immediate. With the improved damage its moreso about 8 per spin leading to 7 x 8 which is 56. This upgrade in damage still doesnt compete with the fact that garen q is immediate while providing extra ms to stick on or leave trades. Remember youre playing an immobile bruiser even moreso if taking grasp, so having the extra ms to chase targets or run is super valuable and no point in e will help you escape ganks, bad trades, move to fights (jungle/grubs) or collapses on sides. Point in E get more valuable as the game goes on and you get more spins with more ad for the percentage, but otherwise early is terrible. Q Ability per level E ability per Level FLASH IGNITE I prefer flash ignite every game. This allows you to skip executioners by pairing your low summ cd with ignite as well as giving insane burst to q max grasp flash. Again, its a heavy fight meta and having extra kill pressure helps gain priority and easy kills if it isn't respected by the enemy. I do not take ghost that much due to the lack of kill pressure, plus doesnt immediately add anything to lane. Still have to walk up to farm/trade and having more ms doesnt help turn those losing trades into winning ones. TO GRASP OR NOT TO GRASP I'd like to look over an easy tierlist to show which matchups are grasp or phase rush (pr) favored AND matchups that can be both based on how confident you are as a player. This last tier, I will always take Grasp into these matchups with few exceptions. This means that you really need to know the matchup on when to pressure them, when to lay off, as well as how does grasp work into their team. If you arent confident in these matchus, I highly suggest just taking pr since its easy and reliable. Youll notice alot of the max hp damage dealers/range are in the phase rush category for a reason. When to Grasp/Pr Will point out few matchups of concern through the list. Camille - Try to pot shot autos early game, dont Q if she has passive shield up, better to just basic auto cause yours will come out faster then wait out shield. Jax - Dont w at the end of stun, right when he jumps on you/starts using his counterstrike thens when you should w. Negates his whole trade especially when eing during and after can just q him for big damage. Renekton - try to trade when his fury is low and bait out his q on wave by walking back in forth. Though, this character could be 20/0 and itll still lose and get outscaled so take it as you will. Gragas - He es you q and youve won the trade. The simplest of matchups, later its better to just ignore this character and push with hullbreaker. Aatrox - can stomp aatrox early with grasp, should win every level 1 against him. But if you arent good dodging qs and micro then suggest just pr. Kayle - Can pub stomp kayle early, but you will get outscaled hard so suggest you abuse as much as possible early to win. Poppy - she can q, grasp auto you if you try to run at her. Suggest you try to bait out her q and after its gone then trade. ITEMS Time for the build! Everygame I build Dorans blade. This starting item is the best starting item in the game and should be nerfed to bring it in line of the others, but for now just build it. This items gives you damage and since youll be autoing alot of the wave to keep up grasp, your healing from the lifesteal on autos and q max is very noticeable. Dorans blade is epic Then I rush hullbreaker, prioritizing tunneler before the other components, into trinity, deadmans, steraks, jaksho. Between these items you should either buy ionian boots for the cd and summoner cd OR mercs/swifties. If they allow you to play the game in side, I highly suggest those boots. TIP: Try to buy Ionian boots when your summs arent on cd so it applies. Their cd isnt applied mid cd so dont be afraid to keep building your main items if your Ionian boots arent going to reduce it on the current rotation. Another weird thing youll prob notice is hullbreaker rush, theres multiple reasons for this. The first one simply is all the stats pair nicely with garens kit, 300 hp 60 ad and 5% ms are all things garen loves. The most important part of hullbreaker of course tho is the passive. Which brings it too garens playstyle. Garen can't easily proc sheen as well as others like jax and cam, so whats the next best thing? One big proc that does more damage as well as stacks on anything. For the grasp playstyle of stacking up grasp, this fits great with hull. You auto the minions till youre full on hull + grasp and with your max rank q, you can easily half hp champions or towers. Hullbreaker proc will always be more damage than trinity at every stage of the game and the damage it does to towers is ridiculous (scales with max hp which is epic for grasp). Another tip is to use it like old trinity stacking with tower dives. You can auto the tower till you get 4 stacks and grasp, then auto q the champion and oneshot them under tower for a kill. One last tip for hullbreaker is too pull waves to towers in order to keep stacks up before hitting towers. This is more relevant on waiting for waves on tier 2, but ill clear the wave wait till theres one minion and pull it back to their tower to keep my hull/grasp up. Hullbreaker stacks last twice the length of grasp (10 secs) so its very easy to keep them up. I have been testing to go hull into shojin, but I have yet to know if its better. You're welcome to test it out though. Black cleaver is also a good pick up 3rd/4th instead of steraks. Either way the final item should be jaksho considering, it turns your champ from a 7 to a 9 in terms of tankiness. Conditioning plus garen w plus jaksho goes hard. The playstyle of this garen build is to be very aggressive early and try to aim for pot-shot autos on the opponents for grasp. Hull rush lets you take towers/plates early considering the item is only 3k so good chance youll have it before any other bruiser item if played well. This usually leads to me just brute forcing the tower down with the empowered garen w buff ignoring damage from the opponent trying to stop me. It's also very bausff strategy and plays for more money possible, its ok to die for like tier two (got buffed to 675 gold now) or fb tower with plates if it leads into you accelerating youre build. Use hullbreaker to abuse tower gold/plates and thats why I suggest rushing it for the maximum amount of value. I apologize for spelling errors and grammar during this guide. Balance Changes Camo Prioritization Instead of saying the same thing each time; many specific crosspaths that add a ‘camo specialty’ to a tower end up being viewed as rather inferior crosspaths due to camo being quite available to pick up through other methods. To give these upgrades more use even with other forms of camo reveal in play, we have added a brand new Camo Prioritization option that is added to the towers when taking this crosspath. When enabled this filter combines the selected target method with Camo Prioritization (e.g. Strong Camo would work through all Camos in strength order, then revert to normal Strong until any new Camos show up). Individual Monkeys are called out below. Stall Farming Farming methods involving stalling out games for theoretically infinite amounts of time have been around since previous games in the series, and we set out to stop a few of them with BTD6’s launch but still allowed some to linger on due to how difficult they were to perform. Nevertheless these time-consuming methods don’t fit the spirit of the game and while tedious to perform they have sparked certain mindsets that they need to be used when things get too hard. We have chosen to now add in a 3 minute timeout preventing further use of any Cash Generating abilities within any single round to end any remaining cash value in this ‘infinite stalling’ of any single round. This allows players to continue to use this strategy, but only to a specific, limited extent, so strategies can be planned around this; we hope players will agree this is a fair compromise. Dart Monkey xx2 Enhanced Eyesight now grants Dart Monkey the new Camo Prioritization filter Dart Paragon has had a slight performance change to improve bit rate issues when streaming. This will not change power in any way Boomerang Monkey While the higher tiers are quite good, Bionic Boomerang does not feel like a strong stepping ston, and 052 is still mostly considered an inferior crosspath due to base tower damage already being high, so Bionic’s ability increase to damage has been increased further. MOAB Domination’s MOAB damage has been increased to give it a little more power than just stalling & finally we’re tweaked up some of the numbers on Boomerang Paragon’s damage to even out some parts of it that were not contributing effectively x3x Bionic Boomerang MOAB damage bonus increased from 1 -> 2 052 Red Hot Rangs ability bonus damage increased from 8 -> 10 xx5 MOAB Domination damage on MOAB throw per hit increased from 20 -> 25 Boomerang Paragon burn DoT damage tic increased from 50 -> 100 Boomerang Paragon Shred DoT damage tic increased from 250 -> 750 Boomerang Paragon rotating glaive base damage increased from 20 to 42 Bomb Shooter While MOAB Maulers are a current popular meta the base bomb shooter is unaffordable early on for the little contribution it can make at early levels when not much pierce is really needed, so some cost has been moved out of the base upgrade and into the Mauler with an overall price increase to Mauler. We’ve acknowledged that Frag Bombs have felt like an inconsistent crosspath both in what they add to the tower and what they lose when upgraded further on their own path, so now in addition to frags popping Black Bloons xx2+ will allow all attacks from the tower to pop Black. 000 Bomb Shooter base price decreased from $600 -> 525 030 MOAB Mauler price increased from $900 -> 1,100 002 Frag Bombs upgrade now grants ‘fraggy explosions’ which allows all explosions from the tower to pop Black Bloons Ice Monkey Embrittlement being a ‘camo reveal’ has not been viable due to the price, so T2 Metal Freeze has been granted camo detection to allow this tower to somewhat hold off camos while it saves up to become a reveal. Additionally Embrittlement will now be able to target and debuff MOAB Bloons for the smaller damage bonus without needing to be upgraded to T5. Additionally some smaller price nerfs have been made along the lower tiers of bottom path as each of these upgrades has been standing out a little much. 2xx Metal Freeze can now target camo 2xx Metal Freeze price increased from $300 -> 350 2xx name change from ‘Metal Freeze’ to 'Cold Snap' 4xx Embrittlement can now target and debuff MOABs but not slow them xx1 Larger Radius price increased from $100 -> 175 xx2 Re-Freeze price increased from $200 -> 225 xx3 Cryo Cannon price increased from $1750 -> 1950 Sniper Monkey No wrist enjoys spamming cash drops, so sniper’s random cash drop has been standardized around a higher amount with slower cooldown for an overall buff. As middle path sniper has been feeling to be in a good spot with alchemist buffs, but other uses of sniper shrapnel weak due to lack of alchemist buff, we have decided to swap alchemist buffability over from the number of bounces to the power of the shrapnel itself. x2x Night Vision Goggles now grants Sniper Monkey the new Camo Prioritization filter x4x Supply Drop: Cash Generating abilities now have a 3 minute timeout Sniper x4x cooldown increased from 60s -> 90 Sniper x4x cash produced increased from a range of $500-1000 to a flat $1200 Sniper x5x cash produced increased from a range of $1500-3000 to a flat $3000 020 Shrapnel Shot, shrapnel on all crosspaths is now able to receive any external buffs 030 Bouncing Bullet is no longer able to receive external buffs to the number of bounces 004 Full Auto Rifle price reduced from 4750 -> 4250 004 Full Auto Rifle dmg type changed from Normal -> Sharp 005 Elite Defender dmg type changed from Normal -> Sharp Monkey Buccaneer Bottom crosspath feels behind compared to others here, so in addition to the new Camo Prioritization filter Longer Range on this path will now also grant bonus pierce. Favored Trades stacking was never intended to be a feature but we previously updated the description to support the stacking instead of changing functionality, so this has now been corrected. xx1 Longer Range now also grants +1 pierce to most Buccaneer projectiles xx2 Crow’s Nest now grants Buccaneer the new Camo Prioritization filter xx4 Favoured Trades no longer stacks the sellback rate buff to other towers. MOAB Shove has had a missile attack similar to xx4’s mini comanches added to provide this path something extra for when the mini comanche are not active. Ray of Doom’s damage bonuses have been shuffled around in order to not be so weak against Super Ceramics as by the time anyone reasonably affords this SCs are the only ones you’ll be seeing. xx3 Buckshot attack cooldown reduced from 1.8s -> 1.5 5xx Ray of Doom damage increased from 5 -> 25 5xx Ray of Doom MOAB Damage bonus reduced from 20 -> 0 5xx Ray of Doom shock DoT damage increased from 15 -> 20 Wizard Monkey Some general buffs have been made to Wizard’s abilities to give it a small boost. Prince of Darkness has been performing extremely well after all its buffs and this is nice after it underperformed for so long, but the round 81 change to counter reduced Bloon Children with bonus Graveyard per pop has made it sustain high levels of graveyard too easily, this bonus has been lowered a little. x4x Summon Phoenix Ability cooldown reduced from 60 -> 45 x5x Summon Phoenix Ability cooldown reduced from 50 -> 45 x4x Summon Phoenix Ability damage increased from 4 -> 5 x4x Summon Phoenix Ability pierce increased from 6 -> 10 x5x Wizard Lord Phoenix Ability flaming ball travel range increased from 180 -> 250 xx2 Monkey Sense now grants Wizard Monkey the new Camo Prioritization filter xx5 Necromancer ‘bonus grave’ after r81 reduced from 7 -> 13 to 7 -> 10 Super Monkey In an attempt to reduce visual clutter, we have reworked the formula for Temple projectile size scaling to come out overall being smaller by roughly 25%. Dark Knights have been feeling strong with their stalling power but we don’t want to hit this too hard just yet so have reduced the slow amount slightly and restored it at the T4. 5xx Sun Temple Military sacrifice total projectile size increase formula has been reworked to give an overall reduction in size for the sake of visual clarity xx2 Ultravision now grants Super Monkey the new Camo Prioritization filter xx3 Dark Knight lead/ceramic slow amount decreased from 100% -> 90% xx4 Dark Champion lead/ceramic slow remains at 100% Ninja Monkey As ninja is the ‘Camo Specialist’ and has been since inception, it is the only tower that will unlock Camo Prioritization on the base tower. Master Bomber’s main flash bomb has also been buffed in damage slightly leading into the new Ninja Paragon. Druid of the Storm has been reworked to more consistently blow targets back due to being stationary and slower firing compared to other upgrades that do a similar task. Balance Changes Dart Monkey We’re happy enough with most of Dart Monkey’s bottom path, but the T4 stepping stone has always felt pretty undesirable for the price point compared to T3 so we have just increased the attack rate slightly at tier 4 xx4 Sharpshooter reload time reduced from 0.95 to 0.85s xx5 Crossbow Master reload time remains unchanged Boomerang Monkey MOAB Press still feels dominant but not wildly outpacing other options so a small price increase has been made xx4 MOAB Press price increased from 2000 to 2200 Bomb Shooter Some low tier Bomb pierce has been shifted further up into the 2xx Heavy Bombs upgrade to effectively nerf 130 Mauler meta in price, but the price of these upgrades and MOAB Damage of T4 Maulers have both been buffed to benefit other variations of bomb better. Since we value the original design intent as low range AoE, we’ve lowered the price to remain a viable choice. 4xx Ring of Fire price reduced from 4500 to 3500 Glue Gunner Glue Strike currently allows for 240 crosspath to hit MOABs with 042 being more Ceramic focused but losing the Glue Soak from top path hurts against lower layers, so we’ve increased the base amount of layers glued by Strike & Storm so that it won’t expire on non-MOABs so quickly. Additional changes are a follow up reduction to The Bloon Solver’s price and a small increase to MOAB Glue’s price due to dominance in conjunction with MOAB Press. 5xx The Bloon Solver price reduced from 24000 to 22000 040 Glue Strike ability layers glued increased from 3 to 6 050 Glue Storm ability layers glued increased from 3 to 9 xx3 MOAB Glue price increased from 3200 to 3400 Sniper Monkey Trading off rate of fire for shrapnel crosspath doesn’t work well for Maim MOAB as it’s all about being a stall tower, so instead of focussing on a damage increase here the shrapnel will now apply the benefits of the sniper’s stun & debuff to turn this crosspath choice into a question of preference in grouping vs single target. Bouncing Bullet has also had its shrapnel pierce increased as it was the only T3 sniper that did not have 3 pierce shrapnel. 420 Maim MOAB shrapnel fragments now also benefit from stun 520 Cripple MOAB shrapnel fragments now also benefit from stun and debuff 030 Shrapnel pierce increased from 2 to 3 Monkey Sub Ballistic Missile previously had far too much attack speed added into the crosspath and was rebalanced for parity, but the overall performance loss from this was too much. Better balance will come from the base rate of Ballistic Missile itself. x3x Ballistic Missile missile reload time reduced from 1.5 to 1.3s Monkey Buccaneer Most of the early Buccaneer’s strength comes from grapes, so to make it a little easier to start we’ve moved some cost from the base tower into Grape Shot. On that same note, we’ve piled on a bunch of bonus power to T5 Grape Shot to give it a boost against super ceramics. Flying Fortress has also been reduced in price because, while achievable, it doesn’t match well with freeplay progress. x1x Exploding Pineapple bomb pierce reduced from 40 to 20 x11 Exploding Pineapple bomb pierce increased from 20 to 32 Exploding Pineapple pierce change carries up to x3x Bombing Run x4x Ground Zero pierce remains at current pierce value of 40 x41 Ground Zero pierce increased from 40 to 52 xx5 Flying Fortress price reduced from 120,000 to 105,000 Heli Pilot A little more buffing of underused crosspath 013 Bigger Jets now allows MOAB Shove to push back faster MOAB speed reduced further from -0.33 -> -0.44 BFB speed reduced further from 0 -> -0.11 ZOMG speed reduced further from 0.33 -> 0.22 Mortar Monkey We felt like we set up the math quite well with Mortar changes last update, but regardless of this missed shots due to inaccuracy vs. attack speed turned out to be unpopular and impacted the middle path too severely. Fortunately this change led to the community finding some critical bugs in the middle path upgrades there since Mortar’s release! That said, since low tier Mortars were never powerful we chose to leave the speed buff from last update but revert the accuracy nerf. Additionally mid-path T5 mortar has had all of its T3 damage bonuses increased to better reflect its position as a Tier 5. 000 Base accuracy increased from 30 back to 18 x5x Pop and Awe ceramic damage bonus increased from 3 to 12 x5x Pop and Awe Lead damage bonus increased from 1 to 4 x5x Pop and Awe Fortified damage bonus increased from 1 to 4 x5x Pop and Awe MOAB damage bonus increased from 1 to 4 Wizard Monkey Some changes have been made to wall of fire to improve race balance in particular x2x Wall of Fire attack begins on cooldown when the upgrade is purchased x2x Wall of Fire now saves the time remaining on it’s attack cooldown x2x Wall of Fire attack projectiles are removed when the tower is sold Super Monkey The projectile count of the current multitudes of mini avatars spawned by boosted temples in freeplay contributes to performance decay, so we’ve capped the spawn rate of these mini avatars. Additionally middle path has received some basic buffs with Robo-Monkey feeling unbalanced for the high price and difficult crosspathing, and Tech Terror not keeping up with other towers that perform a similar role. 4xx and 5xx mini avatar spawn rate is no longer increased by attack rate buffs x3x Robo Monkey price reduced from 9000 to 7000 x4x Tech Terror ability cooldown reduced from 60 to 45s Alchemist While the middle path T5 gets some use, T4 Transforming Tonic does not perform well for the low pierce amount so pierce has been increased. x4x Transforming Tonic transformed monster pierce increased from 4 to 6 Druid Superstorm has been adjusted with a new feature to grant it a method of dealing continuous damage to the targets that it blows backwards. We know many of you will feel this needs much more work but please be patient as we will come back to it. 5xx Superstorm’s Storm now spawns Ball Lightnings in a 180 degree arc in front of it every second until the storm expires Spike Factory We quite liked how the lifespan changes for xx1 spikes went previously, though this still wasn’t enough to make the path competitive and increasing this number further wouldn’t have much of an impact since most earlier rounds aren’t long enough. Spiked Balls strats have also felt too strong compared to higher tiers on top path, so touching on all of these issues slightly the base lifespan of spikes has been reduced, ceramic bonus increased on 4xx, and a new bonus added to 5xx. We have also made changes to give more purpose to 042 Spike Storm and allowed x5x Carpet of Spikes to save its cooldown so it is no longer required to avoid saving to be used in reliable strategies. 000 Base projectile lifespan reduced from 70 to 50s xx1 Long Reach lifespan remains at 100s 1xx Bigger Stacks price increased from 600 to 800 2xx White Hot Spikes price reduced from 800 to 600 4xx Spiked Mines ceramic damage increased from 3 to 6 5xx Super Mines each spike of each mine now triggers a smaller explosion Radius 20 Pierce 10 Damage 10 042 Spike Storm targets only active paths (ie. on Bloody Puddles) x5x Carpet of Spikes save cooldown of passive ability when saving Monkey Village Call to Arms has never had enough uptime for the small amount of space that it benefits. x4x Call to Arms ability cooldown reduced from 60 to 45s Engineer Some big buffs to Bloon Trap so it can now be used more effectively xx4 Bloon Trap can now spawn multiple traps per round! with a cooldown of 20s xx4 Bloon Trap is still limited to 1 at a time per Engineer, this cooldown begins when a trap is placed rather than when it expires, so you can chain 2 together rapidly 2x4 Faster Engineering reduces this Bloon Trap cooldown from 20s -> 16 xx5 XXXL Trap will cooldown at 1/6th of the rate of the standard Bloon Trap Note: Bloon Trap still has a minimum deploy time of 2.8s if it has already been 20s Gwendolin Gwendolin’s Heat it Up! attack/buff has been sitting in a weird spot where it would benefit from attack speed but does not because of the cooldown which prevents it ever having full uptime. This rework makes her have a roughly similar uptime at all levels without being buffed, however she will now benefit properly with increased uptime depending on any rate modifiers applied to her. A fully juiced Gwendolin around level 15 or 18 should now be capable of achieving 100% buff uptime Level 4 Heat it up! cooldown reduced from 15s to 4.5s Level 4 Heat it up! Shots required to trigger has been scaled up to her match her innate attack rate at all levels Ezili Targeting priorities set to manual instead of hard coded to allow more possibilities & precise player control Level 10 MOAB Hex initial target will now follow Ezili’s priority instead of Strong Level 10 MOAB Hex jump target will now follow Ezili’s priority instead of Close Adora Adora’s level 7 ability served little purpose once she reached level 20, to solve this and also give her a small overall buff we have applied an extra bonus when sacrifice is used. Good Morning Guardians, The Solstice has arrived and with it, a host of activities bringing back that 'Grind' feeling to reach a bigger goal with unique Rewards and Gear. Something D2 has arguably lacked over the last year but leading into Forsaken, should give us plenty to do with a rewarding Grind leading up to September 4th This post is split into 2 sections. First half focusing on Solstice of Heroes and Second half focused on MOT. Solstice of Heroes Trailer Dev insights video for any interested in the process For any further info, see Bungie.net Summer Solstice From the 7th of July 2018, 'Moments of Triumph' have been visible for our accounts, tracking our achievements throughout Destiny 2. Some at this point could have been completed / shown as completed if you already met the requirements. Solstice of Heroes released the entire collection of challenges and achievements on July 31st in order for us to be rewarded for our triumphs in Destiny 2 (Full list of Triumphs below). Below is from quick fire FAQs of the whole Event What is Solstice of Heroes? (SoH) Solstice of Heroes is a limited-time Live Event which celebrates the achievements of Guardians in the first year of Destiny 2. Solstice of Heroes starts on July 31, 2018 and ends at the weekly reset on August 28, 2018. What do I need to own in order to participate in Solstice of Heroes and Moments of Triumph? All players must own a full copy of Destiny 2, however some Triumphs and activities require players to have Curse of Osiris and/or Warmind. Where can I see my Triumph progress on Bungie.net? Players can see their Moments of Triumph progress by visiting their Bungie.net profile. If you wish to create a Profile, please visit Bungie.net You can also follow progress on the Bungie, Destiny App Can progress toward my Triumphs be lost in any way? Yes, players can lose progress toward Triumphs by deleting characters that Triumphs were earned on. For the best experience, it is recommended that players do not delete any characters until all desired rewards have been redeemed, and Solstice of Heroes concludes on August 28, 2018 What makes this event unique? SoH has changed the Tower. Upon launching in you will notice a celebration occurring. Amongst this are statues which hold 'Redux' missions of the Campaign which are to be used for fun and to meet requirements for a unique SoH armour set (Detailed below). These Campaigns have various changes to them to keep them fun, fresh and also challenging but not impossible. SoH also has a refreshed Eververse Inventory, which included the Knockout system for anything earned to prevent duplicates. This includes Emotes, Shaders, Sparrows, Ghosts and Weapon Ornaments. All viewable (Also knockout system viewable) in game if you inspect the Solstice Engrams in Eververse. Below are some previews: Link to 3 new Ghosts, 3 new Ornaments for Sturm, Jade Rabbit and Suros and 2 New Sparrows, Blacklight Razor (Left) and Gray Hornet (Right) Link to New emotes - Master Baiter (Left) and the Peacock Dance (Right) EV also includes a new item, 'Glows'. These are similar to how 'Chroma' worked in D1 where it 'Lights up' a piece of armour. Glows go into your inventory to be unlocked. Once done, they act like Ornaments for you to turn on and off as you choose. 3 Glow colours are available, Void, Solar and Arc. So if you love fighting the Darkness looking like you just left a Rave at 5am, this stuff is for you You will get a Solstice Engram everytime you are awarded a Bright Engram How do I get the Solstice Armour? Fly to the Tower, approach the statue dead ahead and visit Ikora. This will start the 'Redux' version of the 'Homecoming' Mission from the D2 Story. Complete it, go back to the statue and you will receive you armour reward Dude, what the hell, this armour is Green!? Correct! This armour evolves over time. On each piece are a list of requirements to complete in order to progress it to the next 'stage' The Armour will go Green (Scorched set - PL 200) > Blue (Rekindled - PL 350) > Legendary (Resplendent PL 400) > Masterworked Resplendent (PL 400) Link to armour preview as it changes through the stages The requirements for each Armour piece and Class are as follows: Note - These challenges are NOT retroactive. Everything (Minus 1 challenge) for Solstice armour is from scratch. The 1 Retro is 'Reach the Valor rank of Legend in the Crucible'. If this does not immediately show for you. Complete a Crucible game. Win or lose, it should then clear Note 2 - You must complete ALL challenges for each coloured set before you can upgrade them. So all Green to Blue, all Blue to Legendary. These also drop from Fireteam kills so working as a team with mixed element Sub classes & Weapons will help speed up the process More on this in the SGA section below Triumphant Return Next to SoH, Moments of Triumph run alongside the event providing unique rewards and challenges to chase after and complete. Again, some challenges may require CoO and/or Warmind. What are Moments of Triumph? Moments of Triumph, or "Triumphs", celebrate the achievements of players through the first year of Destiny 2. Some were made available to complete starting on July 7, 2018, and players may continue to complete the rest through Solstice of Heroes or catch up on any they are short on The Tower now has a 'Statue' in the middle when you enter. Run up to it and hold X/Square and it will bring up your Triumphs like Bounties.
