Hey! I am looking into purchasing a Nintendo switch lite or a Nintendo switch 2 and I am looking for some advice from people who have the devices already. I am not a huge gamer, however I enjoy playing Mario Kart on my husband’s Rog but I find it quite uncomfortable to hold due to its size and weight, which has led me to the Lite, however my husband is persuading me to go for the switch 2 by saying it won’t be as big or heavy as he’s rog and I won’t be able to play the games I want to on a lite. I would be looking to playing games like Mario, Pokémon, animal crossing. Do these games play well on the Lite? I would love to hear people’s experiences and any help/ advice please! I'm loving playing on this little guy! At first it doesn't look that smaller than the regular Switch, but when you hold it in your hands you realize how impossibly small it is. It's just a tiny bit bigger than the PS Vita. The smaller size and lighter weight is great, especially for games with touch controls like Mario Galaxy, Voez and Severed. I still find it crazy to see Crysis running on such a small, cheap and underpowered machine. I know it's an old game, but it's so impressive to look at! I thought the screen would be worse than it is, but the pixel density is impressive and it looks really sharp. I'm overall impressed with the Switch Lite, and it will be my main Switch going forward. This actually got me back into portable gaming. I upgraded from a Switch Lite to the Switch 2. I didn’t realise how much I was missing out on when it comes to versatility. Playing on Docked, Handheld, or table top mode. I love it. It really winds me down especially if I had a hard week or day. I know people complain about the screen not being OLED or being a bit overpriced on YouTube. But, this honestly worth the money. I love the screen, the battery life doesn’t really bother me to be frank, it’s more than enough for me. I enjoy travelling it with it sometimes. Made me fall in love with video games again. Hey there guys! First time posting on this group! So, I got back into Nintendo thanks to the Switch Lite. The original Switch didn’t really grab my attention, you know? It looked a bit too flimsy for my liking, and I couldn’t bring myself to buy it. But when the Switch Lite came out, I couldn’t resist and grabbed one on launch day. I’m so glad I did! The Switch 2 looks much more sturdy than the original, and the specs are incredible. Nintendo really outdid themselves with the Switch 2 in my humble opinion. From 4K 60hz on the TV to 1080p on the handheld, it’s just amazing! Now, I’m on the fence about whether it’s worth the upgrade coming from a Nintendo Switch Lite. I bought a switch lite when it first came out and I loved it. I played it for hours but then I got busy with school and working. I haven't touched my switch in two years. I suddenly got the urge to play it and couldn't find it anywhere. Turns out, my mom gave it away since "I lost interest in it" which sucks since I paid for it. I bought it for my birthday. She also gave away my carrying case, charger, and all of the games I had. I prefer physical games over digital ones. I told my mom to get it back but apparently, she did this over six months ago and I just never noticed. It's too late to get it back from my younger cousin. Sorry, this wasn't relevant to the post I just wanted to vent. I went to GameStop to buy a new switch lite. I told the guy working there I wanted to get the switch lite in gray. They didn't have it in gray, yellow, or coral. All they had were turquoise and blue in stock. I said I would take the blue one and he told me he didn't recommend buying it. He said the switch is almost dead. Its reaching the end of its lifespan and Nintendo is going to replace it with something better. He said I should wait for the switch 2 or the next console. I told him I still wanted the switch lite and he kept repeating himself, saying it was a waste to buy it since the switch won't be relevant soon and how Nintendo will stop making games soon. He insisted I buy a pre-owned switch lite to save money. I told him I would think about it and left. I'm ordering a new one with amazon. This interaction was so weird to me. I just want to clarify that the guy was polite the whole conversation and I think, he thought, he was being helpful. Personally, I wish he just sold me the console, but oh well. He did have some valid points, but I know what I want. Has this happened to anyone before? EDIT: Thanks for all the replies. I did not expect this many people to respond. I really thought the focus would be on GameStop guy instead of my mom. So, to answer some of your questions, I ordered a switch lite off Amazon because I don't plan on buying a Switch 2. I have no intention of docking it and only like handheld consoles. If they make a Switch Lite 2, I'll get that. I already beat all my games and was just replaying them for fun. I love games like FE3H and SMT5 since they allow for so much customization. I won't be rebuying any physical copies of my old games. If I find them in the Nintendo Store on sale, I'll buy them then. My mother is not paying for my new switch lite or replacing any of my games. I did have a conversation with her about the price and she did not believe it costed that much until I pulled out my amazon order history. It's about $800.00 for the switch lite and games. She felt bad once she realized the price. As for why she felt it was ok to give it away, I can't give you a good answer. She just gave vague excuses. My mom was against me buying a new Switch Lite once she realized the price and thought I shouldn't buy it again since I already had my fun playing with it. She thinks it's a waste of money. We argued, I said I'm wasting money because of her, she said she thought she was doing a nice thing for her nephew, but we made peace. I am NOT going to sue her, sell her things, or make a big deal out of this. I live with her rent free and am not going to rock the boat. If I demand she pays me back, she may ask for rent money. 16f here. I regret buying the Switch Lite. I paid full price for it, and while I’ve wanted a Nintendo Switch ever since I was little, I didn’t think it through. The Lite can’t be docked to play on a TV, which feels like a big limitation. Plus, the games are so expensive, and it’s hard to enjoy the system fully without spending even more. Now I wish I had either saved up for the regular Switch or held off until I found a better deal. I’ve tried to find someone who would buy it so I could resell it and get some of my money back, but no one seems interested. I was so excited at first, but now I feel stuck with something that doesn’t feel worth it.
