Battery tender?
I don’t drive often and when I do it’s usually 15-20 min on local roads. Been having issues with battery not charging enough, of course. It’s a 2020 Corolla and I just had my battery replaced for a second time. Mechanic said it had bubbled this time. Not sure if that’s from jumping it too often, from the NOCO 10 I recently bought to try to stop having to jump, or from neither. Is using a NOCO 10 every so often the right idea? Mechanic said chargers/maintainers aren’t good and to disconnect the negative, but I don’t want to have to keep bothering with that when I need a quick trip. Battery tender drained the battery?
I’m kind of dumbfounded by what happened but basically the car was left in winter storage for about 4 weeks. It started fine but I decided to put the OEM charger on. Followed all the instructions, proper lights came on. Came back 3 weeks later untouched and the car and battery died despite the charger saying it’s fully charged. Maybe I received a faulty unit? It’s now hooked up to a Noco trickle charger previously used on my old C7, hopefully it starts up with no problems in the next few days. submitted by /u/user8380283 to r/C8Corvette [link] [comments]

2026 Tungsten - Battery Tender
I just bought a 2026 Tungsten, so far no battery issues at all or other items to report - although in a wait cycle for the digital key option to show up in my IPhone App so I can have that enabled! Now related to the battery tender, I’d like to attach a Noco battery tender lead to the batteries(X2) to make sure they stay fresh if I don’t use the truck for a couple days. I have a 2026 GV70 that has already had a battery replacement. I got a NOCO GENIUS10 battery tender and was curious how others have theirs connected? My core question is if you have it connected under the hood, which ends up leaving the hood open enough that the dash screen shows the hood as open? Noco Battery Tender question
I added a Noco Genius Gen 5X2 tender to my 2019 2500. Obviously my intention was to keep the batteries charged up while the truck is not being used for weeks at a time. I ran into an issue when I noticed the dashboard would light up once it was plugged in and after the ECU had gone to sleep. After a minute or so, the dashboard would go dark again for a couple of minutes before it would repeat the cycle. My question to you guys is, does anybody have a fix for this that would allow me to successfully hook, both batteries up to the battery tender without the computer waking up? If you want more info on the battery, tender, I copied this from Amazon: MULTIPLE BANKS — A two-bank onboard battery charger rated at 10 amps total - 5 amps per bank. Independently charge 12V batteries in marine, boat, starter, and deep-cycle systems. CHARGING MODES — Selectable modes for each bank: 12V, 12V AGM, 12V Lithium, and 12V Repair Mode. Independently charge and maintain all types of lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries with precision. ENJOY PRECISION CHARGING — An integrated thermal sensor adjusts charging based on ambient temperature, preventing overcharging in heat and undercharging in cold for optimal battery performance.) Noco G3500 Battery Tender issue. Unable to switch mode, and will flash red after connected to battery for a while
let me preface by saying I have a battery that is NOT completely dead, it measures at 12.3 and is less than a year old. I am trying to put my car away for the winter and tried connecting my Noco G3500 battery to it. within 10 minutes it flashes red that says it's unable to charge. I tried cycling from 12V AGM to normal 12V mode but it's totally stuck in 12V AGM mode, and unable to switch at all. I then plugged in another Noco G3500 that I have and it charged my battery up fine. Is there some kind of reset procedure I can do on the one that's not functioning right, or is this thing complete garbage? submitted by /u/dsp3000 to r/batteries [link] [comments]

2009 ES 350: Advice re: battery tender
Thanks in advance for any feedback/help: My situation is my now homebound elderly mother is no longer driving her 2009 ES 350. I live out of state & return every 4-6 weeks & Lexie is used to drive mom to appts, errands & in general get her out of the house etc. After 2 incidents of dead battery needing to be jumped by emergency road service upon arriving to visit, just had to tow Lexie to dealer with battery & alternator being replaced. Mom is prone to forgetfulness so can't be relied upon to start-run car in my absence. researching easy to use trickle charger for the 4-6 weeks Lexie sits. I am not mechanically skilled (pls be kind) but not put off at the thought of hooking up a trickle charger to the battery. Have gotten recommendations for Noco or CTEK. Any feedback or recommends for specific products between these two brands that would work simply with battery terminal hookup?? For non-mechanical folks is a dealer installed trickle charger most efficient bet? I have gone to both companies' websites but am cowed with the options. Hoping the clan of Lexus here can advise? Best Deep Cell Battery Tender
Hey all, I know this question has been asked in various forms but I haven't found the exact question asked more recently. I have a boat with a deep cell house battery and a high amperage starting battery. Earlier I was using a battery tender Junior to keep them topped off with a smart link between them. But my battery tender went south and drained both to nearly zero. So I bought a Noco genius five to replace the tender which was great for bringing the deep Cell back to life (the starting battery is another matter will probably have to be replaced). What i noticed about the Genius is that once it considered its mission accomplished ("battery full, sir!"), it turned itself off. I could turn it back on with a button press, but not great for a battery tender that lives deep in my hold. What are y'all using to keep your batteries topped off from the current generation of battery tenders? submitted by /u/wmodes to r/GoRVing [link] [comments]

Overcharging can damage a battery, so selecting a charger with adjustable amperage settings or automatic shut-off features is crucial. Many tenders offer a low amperage float charge for maintenance, typically around 1-2 amps, while providing higher charge rates when the battery is heavily depleted.Battery Type Compatibility: Various battery types, including lead-acid, AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat), gel cell, and lithium-ion, each require specific charging parameters. It's vital that the battery charger battery tender you select is compatible with your battery's chemistry. Some models offer selectable charging profiles tailored to different battery types, ensuring optimal charging and preventing damage. Mismatched charging can severely shorten a battery’s lifespan or cause it to fail prematurely. Automatic Shut-Off: Automatic shut-off is an invaluable feature that prevents overcharging by automatically stopping the charging process once the battery reaches full capacity. This feature is particularly crucial for battery tenders, which are designed to be left connected for extended periods. Automatic shut-off not only protects the battery but also conserves energy. Reverse Polarity Protection: Reverse polarity protection is a safety feature that prevents damage to both the charger and the battery in the event that the charging cables are connected incorrectly. It typically involves a circuit that prevents the charger from operating if the polarity is reversed, protecting against short circuits or other potential hazards. This feature is particularly useful for users who are not experienced with battery charging. Diagnostic Capabilities: Some advanced battery charger battery tenders offer diagnostic capabilities that can help assess the condition of the battery. These features may include the ability to test the battery's voltage, detect sulfation, and identify shorted cells. Diagnostic data can definitely help you determine whether a battery is simply discharged or needs to be replaced. Detailed diagnostics can also help you monitor battery health over time and proactively address potential issues. Yes, battery tenders are designed to be left connected to a battery indefinitely. They monitor the battery's charge level and provide a low-amperage maintenance charge to prevent self-discharge without overcharging. Modern tenders feature automatic shut-off capabilities to prevent damage. are battery chargers and battery tenders the same thing? While both chargers and tenders supply electricity to a battery, there are key differences. A charger typically delivers a higher amperage charge to rapidly restore a depleted battery. A tender provides a low-amperage float charge to maintain a fully charged battery over extended periods. Many devices combine both functions, acting as chargers for depletion and tenders for maintenance. Will a battery tender work on all types of batteries? Not all battery tenders are compatible with all battery types. It's important to select a tender that supports the specific chemistry of your battery, such as lead-acid, AGM, gel cell, or lithium-ion. Some tenders offer selectable charging profiles for different battery types, ensuring optimal charging and preventing damage. Check the product specifications before purchasing. How do I know if my battery is sulfated? Signs of sulfation include a battery that charges slowly, doesn't hold a charge well, or fails to deliver adequate starting power. Some advanced battery chargers and tenders include desulfation modes to help reverse the buildup of lead sulfate crystals and restore battery capacity. Noco boost, load tester, trickle charger/tender, or Noco Genius?
You guys I'm having a tough time deciding what to buy for my car. I have a phantom pull to my battery, and was looking for load testers that would give me a battery percentage, so i can charge my battery BEFORE it dies. Autozone said it's at 56%, when my mechanic just charged it a week prior. Correct me if I'm wrong but the nocoboost is to jump start a dead battery and isn't good long term to use for charging. Would I use a noco genius instead? I read that it's a trickle charger so it takes better care of the battery. I have a high suspicion that my sound system is what's pulling from the battery. I've heard of adapters that sit between my subwoofers and my battery, so that way the system can pull from the adapter first instead of the battery? But I'm having a tough time finding what this adapter is. I'm down to just disconnecting my battery when I'm not using my car to try and preserve my batteries life, until I can find out what's going on with my car. submitted by /u/Pale_Diamond_5928 to r/batteries [link] [comments]
