Nuphy sent me a broken keyboard, now wants me to buy a second keyboard
Nuphy sent me my keyboard (Air75 V3) with a bent pin where the swappable module goes. I've contacted support, sent them these pictures (and some more with measurements and whatnot), asked what we can do. First they (obviously) tried to pin it on me, said "here in this picture the pin is fine [it is not] in the other it is broken, therefore it is your fault" (even tho I clearly stated that the second picture is after I carefully moved the pin back in the right position). Now they want me to pay 70$ + shipping for "keyboard kit", which is basically the keyboard without switches as "solution". I had a hard time deciding between Keychron and Nuphy (as the only two producers of low profile german ISO boards), and finally went with Nuphy because I've heard bad things about Keychron's quality, but I guess that was the wrong choice as well. Can't be paying 150$ dollar just to get offered to pay another 70$ to get a working keyboard. So basically Chinese companies have shitty support, who would have thought. submitted by /u/LeChrana to r/MechanicalKeyboards [link] [comments]

Keychron vs NuPhy for an Office Keyboard
It's been a while since I've shopped for a Keyboard, and the landscape has changed drastically (I'm a Mac user and back in the day Das was pretty much your only game in town if you wanted a Mac Optimized Mechanical Keyboard). I've been looking at both KeyChron and Nuphy keyboards (K2, V1, or K5 mainly for KeyChron, Kick75, Air75 or Halo96 for Nuphy). My local Micro Center has both brand in stock. I don't want to spend more than $150 on it, and I don't especially need a second number pad as long as there is arrow keys and the like). What keyboard would you recommend? I would mainly be using this in the office. submitted by /u/Nick-Eat-World to r/keyboards [link] [comments]

Low-profile metal keycaps for NuPhy boards
We just launched Awekeys Air, a low-profile metal keycap set designed specifically for low-profile keyboards. Most low-profile boards don’t have many aftermarket keycap options beyond plastic, so we built these to be compatible with low-profile MX switches, uniform flat profile, and available in full kits (80% / 100%).... They’re noticeably thinner than our regular profile caps and designed to keep the low-profile feel intact, just with a thocky, more solid typing experience. >> Check it out and we're happy to answer anything submitted by /u/awekeys_official to r/NuPhy [link] [comments]

Some thoughts after a few days with the Nuphy Node 100
Got this in the other day with the tactile switches. Stock keycaps were okay but I have liked these Womier shine throughs so I threw them on. Now, I'm coming from a Magi65 which I like very much, but it turns out I'm one of those that needs a numpad and far right enter, so with the free shipping promo I thought I'd branch out and maybe save a buck before throwing down for a Magi96 plus different switches (stock red golds are too light for me) and caps (hate the font on the stock ones). Lighting is good, connectivity with the dongle has been perfect, no complaints about the board really. The top right touch strip for volume control is nifty but not useful to me, as I produce music and the monitor volume knob on my interface is about five inches away from the board and I reflexively reach for it first anyway. But still, cool idea. Better than whatever the Flow 2 was trying to do, anyway. The sound with these caps and stock tactile switches is fairly deep, deeper than I thought a plastic low profile board would sound. The switches are not my favorite, right on the edge of feeling kinda mushy, definitely missing some snap, though that could be juxtaposition with the very poppy crispy sound of the Magi65 with the aluminum body. Kind of wish I had gotten the red linears, which is wild to me as I never prefer linears to tactiles...(Side note: has anyone tried the Gateron Grey Herons? I can't find a sound test or much of anything about them). I may swap the caps back to the originals since I think they had a crisper sound. Anyway, I'm not blown away but I do like the board. I may tinker more or I may go for the Magi96 and swap switches and caps. I think I just prefer aluminum in the end, but this is a really nice board, especially for $109 shipped. submitted by /u/tacophagist to r/MechanicalKeyboards [link] [comments]

NuPhy and long term ownership. Hard to recommended.
I bought a Field75 about exactly 2 years ago. In general its a great keyboard and I am very happy with it. Recently however there has been an issue where the Control keys and the Caps Locks are swapped. This is primarily due to there being switches under the keyboard that control this option are no longer functioning correctly. There is no way to disable this feature so once it happens it seems like it is permanent. Some light searching will show that multiple users have had this issue. While this is not a debilitating issue (clearly as I am using the keyboard right now), it is beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable as control is the primary shortcut key and all muscle memory that comes from using any other keyboard clashes with this issue. While my keyboard is outside the warranty, it is clear there is some design defect that is causing this issue. I've toggled the switches and tested both orientations. I've re flashed the firmware multiple times. I've done factory resets multiple times. I've tried swapping between windows and mac modes. I contacted NuPhy asking for a replacement and they offered me a replacement deck for $55 plus shipping without switches or key caps. Depending on how much shipping costs this is not a great option when the original order was over $200. $200+ for 2 years of keyboard usage all due to a $0.05 component malfunctioning or design flaw causing it to malfunction is unacceptable. I get that its a slightly unfair comparison due to the relative complexity differences, but crappy membrane keyboards from the 90s that cost $5 still work perfectly fine today. In addition, this was only offered on contingency of the deck being in stock. If it weren't i'd be SOL. I asked in addition for either the source code to disable the feature myself or a modified firmware with the feature disabled. They were unable to do either solution. In general, I feel as these small brands catering to niche communities tend to focus on releasing as many products as fast as possible, all at premium pricing and when it comes to support they leave the users holding the bag. I've had similar issues with Lamzu (Two mice had bad encoders one after another each after LESS than a year of usage) and it's getting the point that I refuse to even consider these boutique brands because while their products may be nicer, to have to repurchase them every 2 years because they always break right outside the warranty is nuts. Not trying to bash NuPhy or anything but I wanted to share my experience dealing with long term support. I'm sure some/most might find their solution acceptable but I feel that a product shouldn't have issues like this only after two years of use. submitted by /u/jfkfhhfj to r/NuPhy [link] [comments]

My brand new NuPhy Halo75v2
Got a new keyboard for the holidays. NuPhy Halo75v2 with Gateron Lemon switches. It is replacing a Keychron V1 with Keychron K Pro Blue switches. I really liked my Keychron, but it began exhibiting a serious problem. Keys would intermittently stop working. The intermittent-ness would fairly rapidly increase once a switch began showing symptoms. I bought a jar of replacement switches, thinking maybe they are just from a bad batch. However, when the same keys began dying 2-3 times, it’s more apparent that there’s a bigger issue. There are some Reddit threads suggesting that the PCB has a design flaw on the original Q/V boards, but customer service never really gets anywhere with people trying to fix their products. So with that in mind, I pivoted to a different company - NuPhy! Hopefully this one treats me better. Going from harder, clicky blue to a lighter, creamy tactile switch is difficult for me and I’m bottoming out a lot and my fingers are sore. But I’m going to give it a few weeks before buying new switches because I really love the sound… which I funnily never cared about before. submitted by /u/LogicWavelength to r/MechanicalKeyboards [link] [comments]

Warning: My $200 NuPhy Field75 is now basically a wired-only keyboard after a factory reset—and support has gone radio silent.
I bought this keyboard in March 2023. Just last week, Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz modes completely broke after a reset. I tried everything: official reset instructions, firmware update from obscure third-party sources, Bluetooth slot clears, USB mode—all failed. Only wired mode sometimes works now. The wireless switch doesn’t even toggle properly. I emailed NuPhy with a detailed breakdown and they replied once, vaguely claiming “stable model” and asking for a video. I responded with everything I tried. It’s been nearly 24 hours—no reply, no solution, no accountability. I really wanted to love this board, but the lack of post-purchase support and firmware transparency is a massive red flag. Be careful if you’re considering the Field75. The HE model might be better, but don’t expect NuPhy to support you if something goes wrong. submitted by /u/General-Sprinkles801 to r/MechanicalKeyboards [link] [comments]

Beware of NuPhy keyboards
I wanted to share my experience with NuPhy keyboards and customer service. I have a roughly 3 year old Nuphy Air75 v1 that had a battery bulge issue. I noticed after some keystrokes were repeating or missing and I flipped the board over. After looking online this seemed like a common issue and you can find numerous other posts with similar issues, so I started checking my email to see if I lost a recall email.... I had not. Reached out to customer service and told them about it. Nuphy's stance on this is that "The lifespan of the battery is estimated at 2-3 years." Which they also sent with "reminders" about battery safety. They offered 3 options to remedy the issue, stating that they have a 1 year limited warranty. All 3 options cost me money, and 2 of them were just discounts on newer keyboards. (I just found their official statement about the issue I'm having) I have only ever had this keyboard plugged into a 5V usb port, in an air conditioned space. It's on a guest computer, so it has very little use This keyboard comes with pbt keycaps, and mechanical switches, to me that suggests you're buying something for more than 2-3 years of use. They glued in the battery. They offer no replacement for the battery on their website, although according to their claim, they are essentially consumable and should be replaced regularly The failure mode of this battery is that it catches fire and breaks the board, not simply that it loses the ability to charge My board in particular had the board damaged from the battery issue, and after removing the battery still has duplicated keystrokes Nuphy does not stand behind their products. It seems like this could/should be a class action lawsuit. I recently replaced a battery in my Son's Yoto speaker with almost exactly the same issue. It was a simple recall and came with instructions to fix. They want to run away from this issue and just have you buy another keyboard. They are far more interested in marketing than making keyboards. As for this board, I now decide between giving them MORE money to a company I don't want to do business with, or simply chucking the board and taking the loss. I have replaced it with a non-wireless board for now, and I'm questioning why every keyboard (even the cheaper ones) even need to be wireless. It was actually difficult to find a new keyboard that met my criteria and wasn't wireless. submitted by /u/juggleaddict to r/MechanicalKeyboards [link] [comments]

NuPhy DOES NOT accept returns and has extremely poor customer service
Had a horrible experience with NuPhy. Two things: They refuse to accept returns if the package is opened or the product is used. Yet their refund policy on their website mentioned that we may return the item in original condition if we are not completely satisfied with our purchase. How do we find out if we are satisfied if we don't even open our package?? The first package is lost in transit. They kept me waiting for a month since the package dispatch date and after my four email chasers. Eventually this is resolved by them sending me another package through DHL. They also did not honor the $25.99 shipping cost refund eventually and gave me $10 refund (for a $163 order) instead for my troubles. This is literally the first time I write negatively about a brand on reddit, as this is really disappointing given how much they spent on marketing and how well known they are. Edits for updates (First off, thank you all for your attention!!) Lodged a PayPal chargeback. NuPhy asked for a return to an Asia container address in order for me to receive a refund. The return address reads super odd - "XIANGGANGKWAI CHUNGRMC&D,1/F,BLK.2 ,KWAI TAK IND. CTR., 15-33 KWAI TAK STREET, KWAI CHUNG, H.K. Tel :36931229 A/C : (ECM2294TCN)Attn : Thomas". I looked it up, XIANGGANG seems to be Hong Kong.. Shipping cost is prohibitively expensive: very likely costs ~$100. Will be asking for a US shipping if they have any; if not, I guess it is what it is. (see screenshots below) 1.1 (Refuse to refund) 1.2 (Return policy on their website) 2.1 (Offered shipping cost refund at the beginning) 2.2 (After sending out the replacement, they refused to honor the shipping cost refund, and said that they would refund the shipping cost only if I waited for the original package, which had never arrived. And the \"premise\" they mentioned was not brought up in their original offer) Update submitted by /u/Rare-Ear-2780 to r/MechanicalKeyboards [link] [comments]
