I used peonies from my yard to make jelly
I started with a pic of the finished product first but it was too pretty to bury. I used 4 peonies of similar size to the one in pic 2. I made a tea and let that steep for 24 hours. I added lemon juice to get the tea to turn pink. 4 cups of sugar and a package of pectin later I’ve got jelly Edit: I tasted it and it’s floral with hints of peach first and then strawberry. It’s almost like perfume. My wife hates it and I think it’s really good. She also doesn’t love peach. submitted by /u/Pork_chop_sammich to r/gardening [link] [comments]

My dad called me at 7am to tell me his peony opened. I'm 31 and i finally get it.
Title basically. He's been into his garden for like 15 years. I always thought it was a "dad has retired" thing. This morning my phone goes off at 7:02am. "Cant talk long, just wanted to tell you the big peony in the side yard opened. It's the pink one. Have a good day." Click. I'm 31 years old. I have one (1) successfully kept basil plant on my windowsill. I have spent 0 minutes of my life caring about peonies. And i sat there with my phone in my hand and thought "aw, hell yeah, peony pink one." Im about to go buy a peony. To my dad: i finally get it. submitted by /u/youngTchag to r/gardening [link] [comments]

Mom sent peonies before passing.
I can’t explain how important these peonies are. I was in the hospital for two weeks and Mom sent these when I arrived home. I found out later that day she was in the hospital and she passed about a week later, yesterday. Can I press these? Do you have any recommendations on how to get the best result? I’d like to put a few of them in a frame. Thank you in advance for your help. Edited to add: A few people have pointed out that these are Tea roses. This is funny because mom told my stepdad to order peonies. I think there was some kind of confusion along the way about what peonies look like. I myself wasn’t even strong enough to notice the difference when normally I would. it’s OK because what matters to me is mom remembered I love peonies and what makes this more special is her name is Rose submitted by /u/LightOfSaraswati to r/PressedFlowers [link] [comments]

Re: 500,000 Tulips
My daughter and her friends went to a huge tulip field/farm and bought bouquets...cut to order. They were beautiful and there were many varieties. I no longer plant tulips because the bulbs are not long lasting. Daffodil bulbs last forever and never need replacing. My favorite flowers are Peonies and Lilly of the Valley. I like violets too.

Good afternoon. It was sunny earlier but now it's clouding up and looking like rain any minute. Temp is 70 degrees. The wind is picking up too. The HVAC serviceman was here this morning and made sure the AC was in good working order for summer. I've only had it on for a few days so far. My peonies have bloomed and they smell wonderful. I'm enjoying a small bouquet of them in my living room today.

[Peony's daughters]
Im truly shocked by this revelation. For context, I'm a French player, and in our version, the famous term "adven tour, so specific to Peony and which makes him recognizable, isn't used. Instead, the term 'my little Penny" is used. Also, in our version, Peony, Peonia, and Penny are named Dilan, Pivonia, and Pania respectively, so linking them through their first names was rather limited. Now I'm wondering if Penny is the older sister? And which academy does Peonia come from? submitted by /u/Bloom_Syndrom to r/PokemonScarletViolet [link] [comments]

New to peonies
We just purchased this house late fall and to my surprise, I have several peonies growing! I’ve done a little research on caring for them, but my big question is, how do I know how mature/old these ones are? It’s my understanding that they need to be a few years old before you can get good, cut blooms? Any information appreciated! submitted by /u/Inside-Cantaloupe761 to r/gardening [link] [comments]

Why do my peonies always end up looking like this?
I am aware that this probably is not the subreddit for this question and if it is removed, I understand, but every time I put my peonies in a vase they always end up wilting by the third day. I buy them at their marshmallow stage and usually add flower food (specifically Arber’s brand) and trim the stems at an angle before adding water. What am I doing wrong? They’re my favorite flowers and I want them to be able to fully blossom and be kept alive for as long as possible on my table. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/aphroditesswan to r/florists [link] [comments]

Maybe a silly question, but is it worth having peonies if they only bloom for 7-10 days?
I moved to a new house this past spring and inherited a peony plant. Most of the time it kind of looks like a bunch of leaves, not that beautiful, and had just two weeks of blooms. I've researched them since and it seems like they just have a short bloom time. Wouldn't it be better to have something that flowers longer? Peonies are obviously beautiful but 🤷🏻‍♀️ submitted by /u/skanedweller to r/gardening [link] [comments]
