3 months into Pilates... here’s what actually changed (not what I expected)
About 3 months into Pilates and honestly, the changes weren’t what I expected. I didn’t suddenly become super flexible or see huge physical changes right away. But my core feels way stronger, like in a practical sense. My posture is better, my lower back bothers me less, and even basic movements feel more controlled. One thing that surprised me was how much more aware I am of my body now. At the beginning I was just trying to survive the exercises 😅 but now I actually understand what muscles I’m supposed to be using (most of the time). Flexibility has improved a bit, just slower than I thought. Strength definitely came first. Also didn’t expect how it would affect my mood. I usually feel more calm and focused after sessions instead of completely wiped out, which has made it easier to stay consistent. Overall it’s been less about big visible changes and more about just feeling stronger and more “put together” physically. I thought of something after watching the pilates scene again
I've seen some comments about Chris' skin during his scene with Jess where he tells her he's used to dating people who workout every day. Some people with skincare related professions chimed in saying he may have roseaca, or some alcohol abuse related splotching, and it very well could be either of those, or any combination of them. But I had the thought today that it looked like he got hit. Like he was in a fight. He had disappeared the night/day before, and according to his overall demeanor, and especially the recorded leaked call/voicemail from his ex, I could absolutely see this little chipmunk getting all cocky after some drinks and causing problems in a bar. I’ve done Pilates for one year now
So for the past year I’ve been doing reformer Pilates pretty regularly (3 classes a week). I signed up seeing all the people online talking about how much they loved it and how their body changed. So after one year, and no changes to my diet I can confirm there are no changes to my body. My body shape looks the same, I don’t think I gained any muscle, I am slight better in some of the Pilates moves but that’s about it. In January I started going to the gym and started doing weight and I noticed a bigger difference after starting that. I’m now able to do leg moves better in my Pilates classes after starting weight lifting. While I think Pilates did help me with my mind to muscle connection, I don’t think it changed my body much. I’m now going to focus more on weights, and do Pilates at home once a week, because i do like it as an ab workout. The reason I’m making this post is because I’ve seen many women talk about starting Pilates for weight loss. And I just wanted to say it’s not going to make you lose weight or change your body shape. Thanks for this PMR Pro. I took the methotrexate Friday night and was ok most of Saturday. Did some gentle exercises and stretches in the afternoon but in really bad pain all night and all today. I do get some pain after Pilates which could be steroid induced muscle myopathy. So may not entirely be the methotrexate but nothing like this,

[AS] Cristiano Ronaldo daily routine: five naps, eats six times a day with fish making up the staple of his diet. Cristiano also puts away plenty of chicken, avocado toasts as snack and also likes to sleep eight hours a night combined with very hard training based on gym, swimming and pilates.
