Hello! Please help. Just bought new iPad 11 2025 (A16). It’s a bit slow, but works well. But when I’m watching videos in Safari or Firefox, it gets very hot. Close videos - 2 minutes and it gets cool again. Also have some strange bug. When I’m trying to set wallpaper, it gets very hot too. Even more, when I swipe for different wallpaper filters, i get visual glitches, like half of the image is pink… Should I return it (really don’t want to do it) or it will pass by itself? The first picture is what it normally looks like, pink and orange gradient. The second picture is what it looks like today. Every time I tried to fix it, it’d get brighter. Like did you begin liking it recently, were you a fan when you were little. Here's my story: So as all men born from the late 2000s and early 2010s and even before... it was basically a rule for all of us to avoid anything girly (some are understandable like Barbie) but everything, there's this social divide amongst the two genders that was stronger back then. So I would be with Thomas the Dank Engine (sorry watching too much dank memes) or Cars or stuff like that. So I have not much memory of being around Hello Kitty/Sanrio stuff other than seeing girls who were my friends walking around with it and always related Sanrio with barbie pink and sassiness. So I disliked it in a way as well. The first time I actually had to come face to face was a Peru trip in 2018 or 19 I think. Our AirBnB had two bedrooms and one was more girly themed (though my parents didn't know) and I was like shocked and mad and made sure not to make contact with the my Melody that was on the shelf and tried to watch Star Wars on the iPad to forget about it (I was in a stage of my life where I wanted to only resonate with older kids shows and even adult stuff like Simpsons). But that was it. Roll to 2022 I was watching Cursed Hello Kitty products video and I loved the video and was introduced to the rest of the gang and I don't know, I began liking them... soon it grew gradually, I created a custom Kuromi character on Lego Star Wars TCS and even joined the Discord Sever in May of 2023. The next month I was just battling with myself to tell my parents that I like them for I was feeling bad of not having the plushies or the merch or having to hide to watch the shows.... especially that I was on a vacation with my relatives but on June 29th... I told them I like it. Unfortunately I didn't do my research and I failed miserably. Parents freaked out and said that I was groomed by Discord even though I joined the server after becoming a fan. We'd have arguments and my mom would pull the age/gender card (and because she's a catholic conservative I can't use the whole toys are neutral argument) and say things like would it be normal if a girl would like Rambo or saying things like would I a middle aged lady would look normal if I painted my hair and wore short skirts. I'd just stutter and surrender (I would also lose my internet access for a time). Now I have two plushies, some key chains and even one hello kitty lego thing I got in a vending machine in Korea. But there's tensions like once my mom got mad at me for having a my melody wallpaper of her on my phone and recently she asked me if I would grow up and used my past Thomas the tank engine (which I was obsessed before but now I donated it all and see it as a past memory) as evidence that I should do the same. She says its more of a "suggestion" but I don't think so. Now I hid all my sanrio merch and I unfollowed everything regarding sanrio. It's pretty hard to convey my point that straight men who look normal can like it when all I find are girls wearing it or men in the LGBTQ+ or with deviations of morality (which won't help my point) so I feel practically alone..... Hello! I've compiled and organized all complaints I've found so far, some are mine, some are from other Nikki's, feel free to use this on the next survey's, I'll keep this post updated through the seasons! And comment your own complaints so I can add them. CURRENT PROBLEM, IMPORTANT After some complaint from a small part of the Chinese community, Infold decided to censor Nikkis boobs. This is, first of all, completely unnecessary, boobs aren't something to be ashamed of or censored; second, adding an ugly mesh like texture to cover her cleavage to new AND OLD dresses is unacceptable, it looks ugly, it was done without communicating it to players, and altering an already existing dress shouldn't be done, plus altering Timeless Melodies neckline on its release when the promotional images have the original neckline is false advertisement (which is illegal in China); lastly, it's incredibly disheartening that Infold has listened to such a small part of the (misogynistic) community in such speed, instead of 95% of the fan base that was okay with Nikkis cleavage/boobs or showing a little more skin, again, nothing to censor; While many of us have been complaining and bringing up actual issues, like bugging and clipping, and we have received nothing so far. The Solitary Silhouette boots still clip under all pants, this hasn't been fixed nor brought up by the team, but suddenly someone said 'Oh she's not modest enough', and yall decided to work on that asap. Plus, this only happened in Infinity Nikki, all other Nikki games haven't had this problem, she has way more revealing outfits there, not censored, I don't understand the need to censor her body in this specific game. We would like to request immediate removal of all the mesh blurring Nikkis chest asap, and compensation (crystals) for this issue. Thank you. OUTFITS / ABILITIES It's about time they let us equip at least two outfit abilities, I leave so many of them unused because of the hassle it is to change between abilities - the game has a ton of them. Deer ability;The treasure detecting doesn't work in co-op. Specifically, you cannot help players find chests that you have already gotten. Stop taking players out of deer mode because some Esseling sniffed Nikki's perfume from miles away. Optionally, let us turn off the deer music. Nails and rings being in gloves department [Celestial Rainbows], not being able to layer them with other gloves. They could at least be able to stack, like face accesories do. Or make another section for nails. Not separating nails from current 5*[Fragrant Dawn from Dreamtime Bestowed], instead of the halo they could have separated nails and gloves. Giving eurekas to the 5 stars when we don't even use eurekas, most people don't like eurekas, some are not willing to spend 20 crystals for a Eureka looking halo part of the outfit to complete it, they won't even use it. Fishing Pirate Outfit, I beg on my knees. Miracle outfits losing meaning to the plotline + being easier to craft. Part of the meaning of the miracle outfits is that they're hard to craft and take a while, I'm not talking about time gated like SoS miracle outfit. I'm talking about actually hard to craft MOs, having to grind for them, that's the fun of those outfits. More skin tone options (human and fantasy). Existing additional skin tones ([Tide of Tears] and others) and face morphs ("shapeshifting" from [Where Wanxiang Weaves Life]) should be equipable in the closet. No more yellow glow ups please. More variety of colors for outfit evolutions vs it being pink, green, etc Give us the [Born Flawless] ability outfit RING, it's the only handheld not given to us. Make whimsicality animations available in photomode. A lot of whimsicality and ability animations are unavailable even with F12 screenshot function. The Forest Ripple ability - After using it, you're locked out of doing anything, no jumping, no shooting the bow, nothing for some seconds. It completely disrupts the flow of the game. Funny how a game that focuses so heavily on parkour and fluid movement just randomly paralyzes your character, right? I would like the alternate form on all evolutions and not just on the last one - sometimes the last one doesn’t dye well. Would love to be able to remove the special effects from the final evo of some outfits. It hurts my eyes. I’ve spent enough to get the final evo, I should be able to turn the glowing effect off. Give us the ability to turn off fake eurekas on the final evolution of certain outfits. The deer has two of those on the halo which just makes it bigger but the worst one are the mountains attached to the sleeves. Short hairstyles in 5* outfits More 2 piece sets, mix and matching is so hard otherwise. Add (more) essential basic clothing pieces such as T-Shirts, Button-Up Shirts, Jeans, Jean Jackets, Leggings/Footless Tights, etc. Allow dresses to be worn with pants. Please give a easier fishing outfit Please give us the option to use the World Rhythms ability one time for it to last in a range or for 24 hours or something vs using it at every tiny pond. Quicken the speed of using the Flourish Walk ability. Its almost the same speed to just pick my plants, etc with it making it useless. Give us options to trial the outfits/dying before investing into it, due to the locked dyes and dying part options Can you call outfits the same names? 2nd or 3rd evolutions are named differently and then done easily come up in the lookbook. Forest Ripple ability is insanely loud when using on a lot of home flowers/trees. I have to mute my computer every time I harvest them lol DYE Individual 5 star item having 3 star item dyes,eg. [Staff of Dreams] paid item with so few dye colors. + Certain areas dying horrible, not true to the chosen color, dying black and it turns out green. + Highlights in hair not having their own area, they dye random ugly colors that have nothing to do. All hair styles should have a new palette always unlocked with one colour, Nikki's natural pink hair colour should be available in all hairstyles. ALL hair should come with a natural hair palette that includes real blondes (not highlighter yellow). Give us better dying options for non 5 star outfits Please stop locking pieces from dying unless we unlock the evolutions or specify it Similar to how we can change the glossiness of the hair, we should be able to adjust the dye: so that 0 is not dyed at all and 1 is entirely the colour of the dye, then somewhere in the middle of the scale is the dye colour merged with the original palette. Because this is so inconsistent throughout the items. Some items dye so poorly and look horrible and nonsensical. But some do not have any of the original colour and completely just have the dye colour (which is good). The dye system needs an overhaul. If you must tier it, why not tier the amount of palettes we can unlock per evolution stage and let us choose which to unlock first, from all palettes. Ugly, undyeable clothing effects. Seems like they are doing it on purpose to force everyone to roll for max. A better way to help indicate which part you are dying, especially if the part in question is super tiny, it's already hard dying clothes on mobile, but to not zoom in on a SUPER TINY part of a clothing piece is just painful because i'm spending more time trying to find the part instead of actually playing the game. Let us dye momos cloaks! Wearing the base color cloak with a fully evolved outfit color does not match! Let us match with Momo! Allow more clothing to use patterns. Ever since 1.5 (the update which introduces dyes and patterns), only three pieces of clothing support patterns. Add more clothing patterns such as stripes (horizontal and vertical), polka dots, gingham, flowers, etc. Allow all dye colors (as well as custom colors) to be used with clothing/hairstyles of any rarity. Allow us to color mounts All dye palettes should be available for outfits which were bought with real money, cause we only get the free basic palettes for them. even the Stellarites outfits have more dye options. Add more color options, especially black, white, pink, and other popular palettes. Make dye materials feel worthwhile to spend on premium items. Please revise dye areas for the dress Burning Thorns and its evolutions from She is Wildfire. Several dye areas contain separate dress parts that don’t make sense to be combined which severely limit dyeability & limitations aren’t removed in higher evolutions. Eg Area 1 - main skirt with shoulder piece, Area 2 - sleeves with lace underskirt (can’t have dark skirt with light sleeves), Area 4 - corset trim with metal hardware. WARDROBE / LOOKBOOK Color lookbook limit too little, I've created more than 200 looks and erased more than 100 sadly Wardrobe being messy and chaotic. With the amount of clothes currently in game, it's getting so hard to search for the clothes you want when making an outfit, it's overwhelming and annoying. We need to be able to sort through our clothes, like in the sims, make tabs to sort through long, medium or short hair; sweater shirts and crops; shorts, pants, skirts; etc. Also, an option to archive clothes, like in real live, when we don't want something in our closet anymore, we get rid of it; in game we could archive it, so it isn't visible in the main closet. Most tops not being long enough to reach the pants. We don't have many tops, and since most are cropped, they don't reach the length of some pants that sit under the navel. It's frustrating to try and style that. Heeled boots from [Solitary Silhouette] being layered under pants instead of over, weird layering of shoes and socks, limits the fun of mix and matching items. Shoes being layered over the new construction ability socks [Visionary Dreamer]. We should be able to choose to layer under clothes or over. Like put levels of the clothes and we choose the priority of the clothes, so we can change and choose to layer under or over. Being able to use your character wardrobe presets when customizing ability outfits and the ability preset wheel also remembering the saved ability outfits so that when you switch to a different ability preset wheel, the outfits also change accordingly. Let us access the dye system in the ability set up section in the wardrobe, and zoom, we can't zoom while customizing ability outfits. Glow-Up filter : Hide all fully Glowed-Up Outfits. As the more outfits we get the harder it gets to see what outfits we've glowed up and which we haven't. Give us the option to separate makeup pieces more with it being makeup vs items/decorations on the face The lookbook search function where you can type the name of the item into the filter, has never worked on PS5. HOUSING In the housing island only chandeliers provide any light. I want all light sources to be able to light up at least part of the room! All lights except chandeliers are completely useless. It ruins housing for me (along with a lot of other problems in housing), because I can't make a cozy room with bright lights. Plus, If we put high ceilings, even chandeliers don't work, because they light up 1 square meter only, horrible light work. Housing being buggy, and the load limit not enough, especially for maximalists, some have encountered an invisible load limit wall and weren't able to continue building/decorating even though they didn't reach the load limit. More build items, new windows, walls, etc. The furniture packs are honestly so pointless if you can’t even have variety in build materials. Home Island improvement: A bridge to go over the water area separating the pieces of land. Google bugs of fish for the pond. Other life like..butterfly's, crickets etc. MORE landscaping building materials.. different types of rocks, wooden path ways, waterfalls, different types of plants and trees Toggle to stop people from eating our decorations/ food on our island Raise capacity limit for the home island, it's really nice its been updated but it still feels very empty. The Dreamland Showcase needs some adjusting. The walls and floors should be a one-time purchase. A recolor. These should be wallpaper and flooring that works on all wall types and floor types. The fences, both railing and post, should also be a one-time purchase. These should give you a sketch. In many cases, you need a lot of fencing for it to be worth it. There are already plenty of other beautiful furniture that we will want a lot of to spend more of our dreamland currency on, there is no need to have us buy a bunch of walls, floors, and fences. We should be able to make the grass look good, instead of having to waste load space putting tile floors or green grass floor all over the island. Maybe a toggle to make the grass smooth, less fuzzy. Or a lawnmower. We can't place more than 1 big pink tree since we don't even get it's sketch in the basic landscaping even though it's in the picture showcase, plus it seems like the focal point, but we can't even have multiple of it, and once you sell it you can't get it back either. Seems like false advertising. Please give us a sketch for it. GAMEPLAY The runway in serenity island has been forgotten, if it was moved to SoS people would access it easier, plus, they could do fashion competitions between stylists in the runway and players get to vote for each other, like Dress to Impress. That would motivate people into pulling for more items most likely. Coop being pushed into everyone. Not everyone wants to coop or interact with others. Every gameplay and minigame should be adapted for both, so we can choose. And rewards should never be gated behind coop. SoS being forced coop, some people really don't want to play with others. Make a button or setting to turn off being able to see/interact with other nikkis, so some people can see others, some will have SoS empty of people. Original intro being changed by the 1.5 SoS intro. It makes no sense, it's crazy to enter a story you don't know anything about and start with that crazy plot, especially since it's a lot of peoples first game / gacha. People can think the outfits shown in that intro are obtainable for free when they're not. It's a very confusing intro and it has raised concerns of new players not understanding anything, being super confused and in the end, less recommending the game to friends for fear of judgement since new players won't experience what 1.0-1.4 players experienced. The original intro is way better and should be changed back to it. Not having anything to do with leftover dews and whimstars? Especially dews of inspiration, there's so many and nothing to do with them anymore once you complete the cadenceborn stuff. Make a way to check completed quests in the quest menu, past quests are forgotten after they end, and we have no way as of right now to play them back or check what they were about. More songs to the Piano mini game that's now only in Sea of Stars. They should revisit previous mini games and ideas introduced in previous seasons, like the piano mini game. Because they do a basic version of it. Update it once in the same patch. Then abandon it. Give options for combining skills or using the D-pad to easily swap through skills in seconds. Make some sort of fashion show or more fun things to do in sea of stars while we wait. Please continue giving us more story and character interactions. Maybe an option to invite characters to speak with/ take photos in areas or in the new spira building area vs it being totally random. Another way to imporve co-op and the lack of fashion gameplay would be a mode where we can style an outfit on a split screen with a friend - so we can see each other dressing our Nikkis up in real time. In the same mode could be a "challenge" mode where you press a button, and the game selects a random item that at least 1 of you have (if only person A has the item, the item unlocks temporarily for Person B so they can have fun) and that you MUST include in your styling. At the end, people could share their looks side by side to a Catalogue (kinda like Color Lookbook) that is made for this mode, where it can either be shared with the option "Let people choose a favourite" or without. If people are allowed to choose a favourite, then they can press like on whichever styling they liked more. Some players found the instructions for the tile-based deckbuilding puzzle minigame that was added to 2.6 to be confusing - especially the last level of the 3rd set and the last level of 4th set Add some "life" to the Sea of Stars such as wind or dust or other dynamic environment features and collectibles like animals, bugs, plants, fish, monsters, and maybe rotate what is available to collect in the Sea of Stars based on the day of the week - or even put in random player accounts as bots running around along the path they last took BANNERS Outfits not being revealed until 3 days before. This issue has been fixed for reruns (Timeless melody being announxed early), but an idea: make a rerun calendar so we know what outfits are coming back for next updates. Outfits being too wishfield style instead of Itzaland style. Give us pirate, conqueror, armor, something, there are many in Shining Nikki, so it's possible, we want different styles, variety. Allegedly, someone said that infold said they won't be tying banners to regions, and that's what they're doing rn, but it makes no sense. Part of the meaning and fun of new regions is getting to style different themes and styles, getting different style outfits, why have Itzaland if not have Itzaland outfits? It's nonsense and it makes me feel out of place exploring Itzaland with pretty barbie outfits. An option to select rerun banners. In SN, there’s an option for that. Players should be able to freely choose between older banners that rotate every season. Final evos need more rewards in general. Like prop recolor to match, momo cloak recolors for each evo, ability to use alt details on every evo. Maybe even an extra prop that’s completely new from the standard. And how about color wheel for the makeup!! BUGS Camera getting stuck after dying clothes/uploading to the lookbook, deleting from the lookbook... Also, zooming being locked idk how, but it's annoying and I have to restart the game everytime. Bug: Swordsmith Ruins dungeon used to change the music as the player progressed through it but now the dungeon no longer does that Upon logging in, Momo spawns into the game in between Nikki's legs OTHER Horrible choice of controller mapping. The 2.3 color shroom gameplay is horrible, not explained what controls we had to use, who uses right stick to move and L2 to shoot? No one, took me 5min to figure out the controls. In the normal control set of the game not being able to shoot arrow w L2. In the professional set, not being able to dash with R1. Horrible choice of controls. Should let us choose our controls, change them however we want, usually that's an option, especially on PC, but us control users really need this, I always misclick because the controls are so weird, and in the normal control set it's impossible to point arrows with circle??? And move the cam with R3 using the same hand. Fix this. Filler patch stories too short and irrelevant most times. Although I do like the heavier topics discussed, it was over in 30mins or less, it was too fast, it felt rushed. I don't like when the quests are time gated, but I like them a bit longer. Would be better to claim escalation rewards straight from the menu instead of teleporting to the realm of blinding flashlight, like bubbles and rocks for crafting outfits. Some form of option for clearing up unused space. I.E, updates and outfits you don’t have/aren’t using should be optional to download. Especially if you can’t play the storyline. Especially from earlier seasons, where the storylines were smaller but still took up space. The game is massive and it’s only going to get bigger until it pushes out more players. Especially on mobile. Need to compress files. Better communication with the players about updates. Pity for Eureka, people have upgraded one piece over 90 times and still don't have the iridescent. It's madness. We need the option to skip pages in the momo album whether by bulk (ie every 10 pages etc) or an actual specific skip (ie putting in a page number), it’d be also great if we can skip from first to last page, the option to favorite photos and have a toggle to access just those favorite photos. Make exchanging Wishfield materials for Itzaland materials/shiny bubble PERMANENT. Let us use duo poses with important NPCs (I wanna be cute with Tan Youyou) because many people don’t want co-op Mobile players struggle with storage space even with uninstall + reinstall method, and when reinstalling their custom outfits are reset and erased, make that sync or something so that they don't have to make them from scratch again every month. Improve lighting outside the wardrobe, it's so bad and different from the wardrobe that outfits look worse. Also it's impossible to see at night time, especially with rain. If we put brightness all the way up, which is not enough for night time, teleporting or going into a white space blinds us, putting the brightness down, makes it so hard to see at night, also in home island it's impossible to construct while it's so dark at night, I have to keep changing the time. Or make a toggle or option so that it stays daytime / nighttime all the time, whatever we choose. Improve the lore/setting/world building; it's confusing for new players and learning about nations and giving anticipation creates hype, which is better to keep current players and keep them exited. For the love of god let us turn off Momo’s idle lines or all idle lines (Nikkis and Momo’s) in general. Make it optional, so people can have it or not, but the constant dialogue, especially the repetitive ones like momo constantly reminding us to ring the bell in SoS, is annoying and it gets boring. Sometimes silence is far more appreciated. PLEASE let us turn off the Whimstar notification off, I don’t understand why they need it to play endlessly for as long as you are within range of a whimstar. Or change it back to the way it was before, it had only 1 chime and it shut off after, while still having the Momo notification on the corner, now it sounds endlessly. It is incredible that they would go through the trouble of creating a new area and have 0 things for us to look for while exploring. Bring back old places from previous seasons such as the curio/platforming domains from those seasons, and the theater from Music Season. Add quests and Random quests to the interactive map, it's impossible to find the last random quests when I don't even know which ones I've done! Give an easier way to clear notifications/ claim everything at once vs fighting the menu systems constantly Option to remove/ delete quests we don’t want to do or storylines we don’t feel comfortable playing with. An option to undo that, just in case. Should make the moving all your photos prompt more clear, or an option to do it later, a lot of player didn't read nor comprehend the instructions, which it barely had, and all or most of their photos got erased, some got the prompt mid quest even, didn't even understand what was it for? Please add to have a quest log. Sometimes the quests don’t show up on the map. I wish there was an option to follow people's lookbooks. I often send other players friend request simpy because I want to see their new lookbook creations when they post them, even tho I don't interact with them otherwise at all. The issue with this is, that not everyone accepts the friend request and there's also a friend limit. If I could simply follow the people whose creations I like, it would be so much easier! Some are playing on an iPad and at this point Infinity Nikki is the only thing they can do on the iPad due to the space of the game. They've lost all their monthly gifts for this month because they can’t log in to claim them. They've spent money in the game to pull on banners and they won't even be able to see or use again. I wish there was a way they can optimize towards mobile so the file size isn’t as huge. I have 44gb available and it still isn’t enough. The only thing left on my iPad is system data. I’ve even deleted FaceTime and the weather app. I literally can’t delete anything else. I’ve reached out to them many different ways to ask how I can make it work with no response. I can’t be the only person who has been playing this game for over a year and now suddenly can’t. If you all can raise the concern about file size or at least give us the ability to optimize for mobile it would mean so much! Thank you in advance! Hello! I've compiled and organized all complaints I've found so far, some are mine, some are from other Nikki's, feel free to use this on the next survey's, I'll keep this post updated through the seasons! And comment your own complaints so I can add them. CURRENT PROBLEM, IMPORTANT After some complaint from a small part of the Chinese community, Infold decided to censor Nikkis boobs. This is, first of all, completely unnecessary, boobs aren't something to be ashamed of or censored; second, adding an ugly mesh like texture to cover her cleavage to new AND OLD dresses is unacceptable, it looks ugly, it was done without communicating it to players, and altering an already existing dress shouldn't be done, plus altering Timeless Melodies neckline on its release when the promotional images have the original neckline is false advertisement (which is illegal in China); lastly, it's incredibly disheartening that Infold has listened to such a small part of the (misogynistic) community in such speed, instead of 95% of the fan base that was okay with Nikkis cleavage/boobs or showing a little more skin, again, nothing to censor; While many of us have been complaining and bringing up actual issues, like bugging and clipping, and we have received nothing so far. The Solitary Silhouette boots still clip under all pants, this hasn't been fixed nor brought up by the team, but suddenly someone said 'Oh she's not modest enough', and yall decided to work on that asap. Plus, this only happened in Infinity Nikki, all other Nikki games haven't had this problem, she has way more revealing outfits there, not censored, I don't understand the need to censor her body in this specific game. We would like to request immediate removal of all the mesh blurring Nikkis chest asap, and compensation (crystals) for this issue. Thank you. OUTFITS / ABILITIES It's about time they let us equip at least two outfit abilities, I leave so many of them unused because of the hassle it is to change between abilities - the game has a ton of them. Deer ability;The treasure detecting doesn't work in co-op. Specifically, you cannot help players find chests that you have already gotten. Stop taking players out of deer mode because some Esseling sniffed Nikki's perfume from miles away. Optionally, let us turn off the deer music. Nails and rings being in gloves department [Celestial Rainbows], not being able to layer them with other gloves. They could at least be able to stack, like face accesories do. Or make another section for nails. Not separating nails from current 5*[Fragrant Dawn from Dreamtime Bestowed], instead of the halo they could have separated nails and gloves. Giving eurekas to the 5 stars when we don't even use eurekas, most people don't like eurekas, some are not willing to spend 20 crystals for a Eureka looking halo part of the outfit to complete it, they won't even use it. Fishing Pirate Outfit, I beg on my knees. Miracle outfits losing meaning to the plotline + being easier to craft. Part of the meaning of the miracle outfits is that they're hard to craft and take a while, I'm not talking about time gated like SoS miracle outfit. I'm talking about actually hard to craft MOs, having to grind for them, that's the fun of those outfits. More skin tone options (human and fantasy). Existing additional skin tones ([Tide of Tears] and others) and face morphs ("shapeshifting" from [Where Wanxiang Weaves Life]) should be equipable in the closet. No more yellow glow ups please. More variety of colors for outfit evolutions vs it being pink, green, etc Give us the [Born Flawless] ability outfit RING, it's the only handheld not given to us. Make whimsicality animations available in photomode. A lot of whimsicality and ability animations are unavailable even with F12 screenshot function. The Forest Ripple ability - After using it, you're locked out of doing anything, no jumping, no shooting the bow, nothing for some seconds. It completely disrupts the flow of the game. Funny how a game that focuses so heavily on parkour and fluid movement just randomly paralyzes your character, right? I would like the alternate form on all evolutions and not just on the last one - sometimes the last one doesn’t dye well. Would love to be able to remove the special effects from the final evo of some outfits. It hurts my eyes. I’ve spent enough to get the final evo, I should be able to turn the glowing effect off. Give us the ability to turn off fake eurekas on the final evolution of certain outfits. The deer has two of those on the halo which just makes it bigger but the worst one are the mountains attached to the sleeves. Short hairstyles in 5* outfits More 2 piece sets, mix and matching is so hard otherwise. Add (more) essential basic clothing pieces such as T-Shirts, Button-Up Shirts, Jeans, Jean Jackets, Leggings/Footless Tights, etc. Allow dresses to be worn with pants. Please give a easier fishing outfit Please give us the option to use the World Rhythms ability one time for it to last in a range or for 24 hours or something vs using it at every tiny pond. Quicken the speed of using the Flourish Walk ability. Its almost the same speed to just pick my plants, etc with it making it useless. Give us options to trial the outfits/dying before investing into it, due to the locked dyes and dying part options Can you call outfits the same names? 2nd or 3rd evolutions are named differently and then done easily come up in the lookbook. Forest Ripple ability is insanely loud when using on a lot of home flowers/trees. I have to mute my computer every time I harvest them lol DYE Individual 5 star item having 3 star item dyes,eg. [Staff of Dreams] paid item with so few dye colors. + Certain areas dying horrible, not true to the chosen color, dying black and it turns out green. + Highlights in hair not having their own area, they dye random ugly colors that have nothing to do. All hair styles should have a new palette always unlocked with one colour, Nikki's natural pink hair colour should be available in all hairstyles. ALL hair should come with a natural hair palette that includes real blondes (not highlighter yellow). Give us better dying options for non 5 star outfits Please stop locking pieces from dying unless we unlock the evolutions or specify it Similar to how we can change the glossiness of the hair, we should be able to adjust the dye: so that 0 is not dyed at all and 1 is entirely the colour of the dye, then somewhere in the middle of the scale is the dye colour merged with the original palette. Because this is so inconsistent throughout the items. Some items dye so poorly and look horrible and nonsensical. But some do not have any of the original colour and completely just have the dye colour (which is good). The dye system needs an overhaul. If you must tier it, why not tier the amount of palettes we can unlock per evolution stage and let us choose which to unlock first, from all palettes. Ugly, undyeable clothing effects. Seems like they are doing it on purpose to force everyone to roll for max. A better way to help indicate which part you are dying, especially if the part in question is super tiny, it's already hard dying clothes on mobile, but to not zoom in on a SUPER TINY part of a clothing piece is just painful because i'm spending more time trying to find the part instead of actually playing the game. Let us dye momos cloaks! Wearing the base color cloak with a fully evolved outfit color does not match! Let us match with Momo! Allow more clothing to use patterns. Ever since 1.5 (the update which introduces dyes and patterns), only three pieces of clothing support patterns. Add more clothing patterns such as stripes (horizontal and vertical), polka dots, gingham, flowers, etc. Allow all dye colors (as well as custom colors) to be used with clothing/hairstyles of any rarity. Allow us to color mounts All dye palettes should be available for outfits which were bought with real money, cause we only get the free basic palettes for them. even the Stellarites outfits have more dye options. Add more color options, especially black, white, pink, and other popular palettes. Make dye materials feel worthwhile to spend on premium items. Please revise dye areas for the dress Burning Thorns and its evolutions from She is Wildfire. Several dye areas contain separate dress parts that don’t make sense to be combined which severely limit dyeability & limitations aren’t removed in higher evolutions. Eg Area 1 - main skirt with shoulder piece, Area 2 - sleeves with lace underskirt (can’t have dark skirt with light sleeves), Area 4 - corset trim with metal hardware. WARDROBE / LOOKBOOK Color lookbook limit too little, I've created more than 200 looks and erased more than 100 sadly Wardrobe being messy and chaotic. With the amount of clothes currently in game, it's getting so hard to search for the clothes you want when making an outfit, it's overwhelming and annoying. We need to be able to sort through our clothes, like in the sims, make tabs to sort through long, medium or short hair; sweater shirts and crops; shorts, pants, skirts; etc. Also, an option to archive clothes, like in real live, when we don't want something in our closet anymore, we get rid of it; in game we could archive it, so it isn't visible in the main closet. Most tops not being long enough to reach the pants. We don't have many tops, and since most are cropped, they don't reach the length of some pants that sit under the navel. It's frustrating to try and style that. Heeled boots from [Solitary Silhouette] being layered under pants instead of over, weird layering of shoes and socks, limits the fun of mix and matching items. Shoes being layered over the new construction ability socks [Visionary Dreamer]. We should be able to choose to layer under clothes or over. Like put levels of the clothes and we choose the priority of the clothes, so we can change and choose to layer under or over. Being able to use your character wardrobe presets when customizing ability outfits and the ability preset wheel also remembering the saved ability outfits so that when you switch to a different ability preset wheel, the outfits also change accordingly. Let us access the dye system in the ability set up section in the wardrobe, and zoom, we can't zoom while customizing ability outfits. Glow-Up filter : Hide all fully Glowed-Up Outfits. As the more outfits we get the harder it gets to see what outfits we've glowed up and which we haven't. Give us the option to separate makeup pieces more with it being makeup vs items/decorations on the face The lookbook search function where you can type the name of the item into the filter, has never worked on PS5. HOUSING In the housing island only chandeliers provide any light. I want all light sources to be able to light up at least part of the room! All lights except chandeliers are completely useless. It ruins housing for me (along with a lot of other problems in housing), because I can't make a cozy room with bright lights. Plus, If we put high ceilings, even chandeliers don't work, because they light up 1 square meter only, horrible light work. Housing being buggy, and the load limit not enough, especially for maximalists, some have encountered an invisible load limit wall and weren't able to continue building/decorating even though they didn't reach the load limit. More build items, new windows, walls, etc. The furniture packs are honestly so pointless if you can’t even have variety in build materials. Home Island improvement: A bridge to go over the water area separating the pieces of land. Google bugs of fish for the pond. Other life like..butterfly's, crickets etc. MORE landscaping building materials.. different types of rocks, wooden path ways, waterfalls, different types of plants and trees Toggle to stop people from eating our decorations/ food on our island Raise capacity limit for the home island, it's really nice its been updated but it still feels very empty. The Dreamland Showcase needs some adjusting. The walls and floors should be a one-time purchase. A recolor. These should be wallpaper and flooring that works on all wall types and floor types. The fences, both railing and post, should also be a one-time purchase. These should give you a sketch. In many cases, you need a lot of fencing for it to be worth it. There are already plenty of other beautiful furniture that we will want a lot of to spend more of our dreamland currency on, there is no need to have us buy a bunch of walls, floors, and fences. We should be able to make the grass look good, instead of having to waste load space putting tile floors or green grass floor all over the island. Maybe a toggle to make the grass smooth, less fuzzy. Or a lawnmower. We can't place more than 1 big pink tree since we don't even get it's sketch in the basic landscaping even though it's in the picture showcase, plus it seems like the focal point, but we can't even have multiple of it, and once you sell it you can't get it back either. Seems like false advertising. Please give us a sketch for it. GAMEPLAY The runway in serenity island has been forgotten, if it was moved to SoS people would access it easier, plus, they could do fashion competitions between stylists in the runway and players get to vote for each other, like Dress to Impress. That would motivate people into pulling for more items most likely. Coop being pushed into everyone. Not everyone wants to coop or interact with others. Every gameplay and minigame should be adapted for both, so we can choose. And rewards should never be gated behind coop. SoS being forced coop, some people really don't want to play with others. Make a button or setting to turn off being able to see/interact with other nikkis, so some people can see others, some will have SoS empty of people. Original intro being changed by the 1.5 SoS intro. It makes no sense, it's crazy to enter a story you don't know anything about and start with that crazy plot, especially since it's a lot of peoples first game / gacha. People can think the outfits shown in that intro are obtainable for free when they're not. It's a very confusing intro and it has raised concerns of new players not understanding anything, being super confused and in the end, less recommending the game to friends for fear of judgement since new players won't experience what 1.0-1.4 players experienced. The original intro is way better and should be changed back to it. Not having anything to do with leftover dews and whimstars? Especially dews of inspiration, there's so many and nothing to do with them anymore once you complete the cadenceborn stuff. Make a way to check completed quests in the quest menu, past quests are forgotten after they end, and we have no way as of right now to play them back or check what they were about. More songs to the Piano mini game that's now only in Sea of Stars. They should revisit previous mini games and ideas introduced in previous seasons, like the piano mini game. Because they do a basic version of it. Update it once in the same patch. Then abandon it. Give options for combining skills or using the D-pad to easily swap through skills in seconds. Make some sort of fashion show or more fun things to do in sea of stars while we wait. Please continue giving us more story and character interactions. Maybe an option to invite characters to speak with/ take photos in areas or in the new spira building area vs it being totally random. Another way to imporve co-op and the lack of fashion gameplay would be a mode where we can style an outfit on a split screen with a friend - so we can see each other dressing our Nikkis up in real time. In the same mode could be a "challenge" mode where you press a button, and the game selects a random item that at least 1 of you have (if only person A has the item, the item unlocks temporarily for Person B so they can have fun) and that you MUST include in your styling. At the end, people could share their looks side by side to a Catalogue (kinda like Color Lookbook) that is made for this mode, where it can either be shared with the option "Let people choose a favourite" or without. If people are allowed to choose a favourite, then they can press like on whichever styling they liked more. Some players found the instructions for the tile-based deckbuilding puzzle minigame that was added to 2.6 to be confusing - especially the last level of the 3rd set and the last level of 4th set Add some "life" to the Sea of Stars such as wind or dust or other dynamic environment features and collectibles like animals, bugs, plants, fish, monsters, and maybe rotate what is available to collect in the Sea of Stars based on the day of the week - or even put in random player accounts as bots running around along the path they last took BANNERS Outfits not being revealed until 3 days before. This issue has been fixed for reruns (Timeless melody being announxed early), but an idea: make a rerun calendar so we know what outfits are coming back for next updates. Outfits being too wishfield style instead of Itzaland style. Give us pirate, conqueror, armor, something, there are many in Shining Nikki, so it's possible, we want different styles, variety. Allegedly, someone said that infold said they won't be tying banners to regions, and that's what they're doing rn, but it makes no sense. Part of the meaning and fun of new regions is getting to style different themes and styles, getting different style outfits, why have Itzaland if not have Itzaland outfits? It's nonsense and it makes me feel out of place exploring Itzaland with pretty barbie outfits. An option to select rerun banners. In SN, there’s an option for that. Players should be able to freely choose between older banners that rotate every season. Final evos need more rewards in general. Like prop recolor to match, momo cloak recolors for each evo, ability to use alt details on every evo. Maybe even an extra prop that’s completely new from the standard. And how about color wheel for the makeup!! BUGS Camera getting stuck after dying clothes/uploading to the lookbook, deleting from the lookbook... Also, zooming being locked idk how, but it's annoying and I have to restart the game everytime. Bug: Swordsmith Ruins dungeon used to change the music as the player progressed through it but now the dungeon no longer does that Upon logging in, Momo spawns into the game in between Nikki's legs OTHER Horrible choice of controller mapping. The 2.3 color shroom gameplay is horrible, not explained what controls we had to use, who uses right stick to move and L2 to shoot? No one, took me 5min to figure out the controls. In the normal control set of the game not being able to shoot arrow w L2. In the professional set, not being able to dash with R1. Horrible choice of controls. Should let us choose our controls, change them however we want, usually that's an option, especially on PC, but us control users really need this, I always misclick because the controls are so weird, and in the normal control set it's impossible to point arrows with circle??? And move the cam with R3 using the same hand. Fix this. Filler patch stories too short and irrelevant most times. Although I do like the heavier topics discussed, it was over in 30mins or less, it was too fast, it felt rushed. I don't like when the quests are time gated, but I like them a bit longer. Would be better to claim escalation rewards straight from the menu instead of teleporting to the realm of blinding flashlight, like bubbles and rocks for crafting outfits. Some form of option for clearing up unused space. I.E, updates and outfits you don’t have/aren’t using should be optional to download. Especially if you can’t play the storyline. Especially from earlier seasons, where the storylines were smaller but still took up space. The game is massive and it’s only going to get bigger until it pushes out more players. Especially on mobile. Need to compress files. Better communication with the players about updates. Pity for Eureka, people have upgraded one piece over 90 times and still don't have the iridescent. It's madness. We need the option to skip pages in the momo album whether by bulk (ie every 10 pages etc) or an actual specific skip (ie putting in a page number), it’d be also great if we can skip from first to last page, the option to favorite photos and have a toggle to access just those favorite photos. Make exchanging Wishfield materials for Itzaland materials/shiny bubble PERMANENT. Let us use duo poses with important NPCs (I wanna be cute with Tan Youyou) because many people don’t want co-op Mobile players struggle with storage space even with uninstall + reinstall method, and when reinstalling their custom outfits are reset and erased, make that sync or something so that they don't have to make them from scratch again every month. Improve lighting outside the wardrobe, it's so bad and different from the wardrobe that outfits look worse. Also it's impossible to see at night time, especially with rain. If we put brightness all the way up, which is not enough for night time, teleporting or going into a white space blinds us, putting the brightness down, makes it so hard to see at night, also in home island it's impossible to construct while it's so dark at night, I have to keep changing the time. Or make a toggle or option so that it stays daytime / nighttime all the time, whatever we choose. Improve the lore/setting/world building; it's confusing for new players and learning about nations and giving anticipation creates hype, which is better to keep current players and keep them exited. For the love of god let us turn off Momo’s idle lines or all idle lines (Nikkis and Momo’s) in general. Make it optional, so people can have it or not, but the constant dialogue, especially the repetitive ones like momo constantly reminding us to ring the bell in SoS, is annoying and it gets boring. Sometimes silence is far more appreciated. PLEASE let us turn off the Whimstar notification off, I don’t understand why they need it to play endlessly for as long as you are within range of a whimstar. Or change it back to the way it was before, it had only 1 chime and it shut off after, while still having the Momo notification on the corner, now it sounds endlessly. This arrived on Thursday but I work 50 hours so could only get to unpacking it today after having some peace and quiet. I went with the silver - it's shockingly thin and light (although the case does weigh it down a little). I also think the official Smart Book two-tone case is quite stylish and gives me some IKEA vibes - the orange is more between a peach and salmon color, not quite orange but also not quite pink. It looks more orange in the picture, but also the white is like a gray-beige instead of a white. Glad I went with it but wish there were more stylish and quality cases made for this. Coming from a 2018 iPad Pro, I feel like I entered the future. Also the speakers on this is so rich! It was a nice surprise! I chose this over the S11 and S11 Ultra. The haptic screen, air controls on the SPen is very handy, not to mention I also now have a choice on where I get to store the SPen (the side as well as the back). Edit - In general, im a little disappointed that the Galaxy Store doesn't offer the same range of wallpapers, themes and icons for their tablets like they do for their phones! I bought the Z Flip 7 and thought i could have the same customization fun but on a bigger device like their tablet. I thought finally coming home for the holidays was going to be a good thing. I haven't seen my sister or her kids in almost two years, and I hated missing out on all the important bits of their lives. So this Christmas I was going to be vaccinated and boostered and tested and whatever else I had to do to get to see them. Fortunately it all went smoothly and I got there in time for the big Christmas eve dinner. Normally I can be a little awkward about eating - I have very sensitive gums and fake teeth and have to eat my own pureed stuff - but my sister has the same medical condition so everybody is used to it. The doctors never figured it out and we got picked on a lot as kids, so it's such a relief being around people who don't stare as you chug protein. Besides, the focus was all on my niece and nephew. Luke, my older nephew, was trying to be cool. He's ten now, almost a teen and it's starting to show. Cool haircut, cool sweatpants, cool shoes. He desperately wants everyone to know he's an adult. It honestly made me kinda sad, how I'd missed out on the last of him being just a kid. Fortunately Alice, his sister, is only six and she's still hopped up on the magic of Christmas. I'll admit I was playing favorites, spending more time with her and her Legos than with Luke, but he just wanted to play Fortnite on his phone with his friends anyway so I didn't feel too bad about it. Alice had plenty to tell me. About school over zoom and playdates with friends - I let the words wash over me like a warm hug. This was so much better than a little box on my computer. But then as we finished assembling one of her Christmas presents, she started asking me if I remembered when I was a kid. How Alice would come to my window to make sure no one was awake. Then sneak inside, in the dark, and watch me sleep. I barely stifled a "what the fuck?" It didn't make any sense. My sister and I are pretty close together in age, Alice was twenty years away from being born when we were kids. How could she have watched us sleep when we were children? She said it super nonchalant, too, mostly focused on her legos. "Well?" she asked, "do you remember?" I decided to play along. "How could I remember if I was asleep?" "You didn't stay asleep," she told me. She said she watched me and my sister, her mom, for hours. She described our wallpaper - pink clouds our mom left up for way too long - and our pajamas - a big shirt of my dad's for me, and some ugly plaid thing for my sister - and our toys - I was obsessed with micro machines at the time. When she said that something tinkled in the back of my mind. Like, literally, I thought there was a bell in the next room going off. The wisp of something came back to me - a feeling, of being young, and a little awake but mostly asleep, and knowing, *knowing*, that something else is in the room... "And then I woke you up," she said, and she put the last lego brick in its spot. "Finished!" she shouted, and she scooped up her spaceship and ran off making laser sounds. I left her and went to the kitchen. I needed water, or maybe a stiff drink. My sister was in there putting together some leftovers, so I told her about what her daughter had said. She just laughed it off. "Oh she's always telling weird stories. And we were looking through those old photos - I'm sure she just saw an old polaroid and combined it with some nightmare and told you." I accepted the explanation, because anything else sounded crazy. She was just my little niece and I loved her dearly. Full stop. The afternoon was back to the usual, lounging around, watching Christmas movies and football. I even let Alice cuddle with me on the couch without getting the heebie-jeebies. We took a family photo at the end, to remember being back together after so long apart - me and my sister with our tight, closed smiles, the kids and her husband smiling with their big, beautiful teeth. Alice's adult teeth had just come in, and the dentist said they looked good, though she should be careful to floss because there were already signs of cavities forming. I had been so glad once we knew the kids didn't inherit whatever we'd had - I didn't want them to have to deal with the shit we did. So when she asked me to put her to bed that night, I said yes and was mostly excited about it. I read to her from one of her new books about a horse detective for a chapter or two and then went to turn out the light. "Wait Aunt Jo," she said, "I want to tell you a story." I figured she was just stalling for more time before bed. "Okay, what book should I get out?" "It's not a book," she said. "It's what happened after I woke you up." It was like electricity through my spine. I wanted to run out of the room but I couldn't move. Alice sat there in bed, staring at me, and just kept talking, and I couldn't stop her. Outside her window it was dark, with lazy snow falling, and it felt like we were the only two people in the entire world it was so lonely. She explained that she'd actually been watching me and my sister for years before it was time to finally wake us up. She didn't explain why it was time, just that it was. One night, after creeping in through the window and sitting in the dark and watching us sleep and listening to us breathe, she reached out and gently shook my shoulder. I sweat, right then, in her bedroom, I could feel that hand, hot and heavy and sticky on my shoulder, shaking me awake. "Rise and shine love of mine," Alice said but it wasn't her voice, it was a deep, gravelly voice, one that echoed through time and back to my own childhood bedroom when I woke from slumber and a shadow loomed over me, backlit by the window, the words carried on a sweet, warm breath, like the decaying leaves outside my window - it was autumn then, I remembered that suddenly, it was autumn and we'd be going trick-or-treating in a few weeks and I would be the headless horseman and I couldn't wait, I was so excited, and then he came and woke me in the night -- "And then what Alice?" I asked, but she was asleep, curled up on her bed. I was tempted to wake her and demand answers but then I remembered that hand on my shoulder, and I had to get out of the room. I stumbled downstairs to where my sister and her husband sat watching It's a Wonderful Life. "Sounds like she went down easy," my sister said but I didn't answer. I went to the kitchen and got down the wine and a glass and sat there and drank. But the image lingered with me, the tall shadow, leaning down towards childhood me, rousing me, talking to me before I had time to scream -- I called our mom. There's a reason she wasn't at our Christmas - when we lost our teeth, she started making it all about her, how we were ruining her life. Finally she divorced our dad and started over with a new husband and kids. We only talked occasionally, when someone died or if she needed money. But right then I needed something from her. By the slight slurring in her groggy hello I could tell she'd been hitting the wine longer than I had. I skipped pleasantries. "When we were kids," I asked her, "did someone break into our house?" She had no idea what I was asking about and I had to repeat myself a few times. Finally she got defensive. "Oh, now you're blaming me for that? I told you both a million times, you girls were perfectly safe. Those kids were on the other side of town, the poor side. Nothing bad was going to happen to you. Or at least, no scary man was going to take you. You girls used to have such beautiful smiles." But I was still on the first part of what she'd said. "What man?" I demanded, but even as I asked I started to remember. That summer there'd been stories of kids going missing, from the other side of town. Taken from their bedrooms. Everybody was freaked out. But by the fall it had stopped, and then that winter they'd caught him... "After he stopped taking kids you started telling those stories of him being in your room. You'd come screaming into our bedroom but of course we'd look and no one was there, everything was locked up tight. When they finally electrocuted him I said an extra prayer for him to burn in hell for the way he got you two riled up. I swear you girls needed to be the center of attention, well you got what you wanted when your teeth all --" I hung up on her. I'd heard it enough times before. Her theories on why it had happened to us. What we'd done to deserve it. I went to bed without talking to anybody. I was sleeping down in the basement, on a pullout. Other nights I had no problem sleeping down there but that night I couldn't close my eyes for more than a few moments before becoming sure someone else was in the room. What were those shadows passing by the windows? The creaking in the corner of the room? Had it returned, this forgotten thing from my childhood? Or had Alice gotten up in the middle of the night, quietly made her way down the stairs into the basement, and now stood in the corner, watching me, like she'd claimed to have watched me all those years ago before I was born... But every time I grabbed my phone and turned on the flashlight there was nothing and no one there. I was alone. The next day I was heading out. Normally I would linger and make up excuses to stick around but not that morning. I wanted to get home. Back to somewhere safe and familiar and away from Alice. I avoided the kids all morning, eating breakfast quickly and then going for a walk to get coffee. I wanted to be nice and caffeinated for the long drive back. But I couldn't skip goodbyes. What was I going to say, "you're creeping me out kid"? It was a quick hug and then I'd be out the door and I could forget all about it. First I hugged Luke and he thanked me for his ipad and I told him to keep drawing. Then I knelt down to give Alice her hug. I wanted to get in and out but as her head burrowed into the crook of my neck I felt her breath on my ear, the same as I had all those years ago in my childhood bedroom. "I want you to know, I still have the teeth I took from your mouth," she said, just loud enough for only me to hear. I slowly pulled back, staring at her in horror. I must have looked insane to the others but I grabbed Alice and shook her. "What do you mean? What did you do with them?" Just tried going into private in Safari and it showed private and my tab groups all in one section and when I selected private it opened like a tab group. Had to force restart the app to fix it. Still getting pink backgrounds in weather until the apps quit and restarted. Maps in the Find My widgets background are often blank and only refresh when the apps launched. Loads of Apple Music bugs like music skipping, content not available and for some reason with Dolby atom set to automatic, the volume in my car on any Dolby atoms song tanks and I can’t hear anything Couple of random re-springs occasionally Notification centre bugs like overlapping notifications and spacing/padding issues We’ve had huge features like FaceTime stuff removed for now and there’s no word on universal control being in the .0 build of iOS 15. And most importantly; NOT. A. SINGLE. NEW. WALLPAPER SINCE WWDC! (Joking but usually we get some variants on the colour at least!) Seems about par for the course for an iOS .0 release though really! He glided over to his desk and pulled out a pink tablet, offering it to her with as much reverence one would a precious heirloom. Jasmine looked down at the tablet – a pink-cased iPad – and was surprised to see it still had some battery left. She stared at the familiar piece of tech, a window into someones else’s life. The lock screen had a beautiful wallpaper: a moonlit night on a lake, a lotus flower in bloom with a trail of stardust floating from its petals. “This was found amongst other dataslates,” Nako related, taking a softer, more sincere tone with her, sharing a side he hid from almost everyone else. “I need to know, what is the significance of the image? Please.” To him, it was as important and as significant as the banners on his wall, but Jasmine couldn’t help but feel disheartened. Was a stock fantasy image really so compelling to him? “Significance?” Jasmine murmured, “It probably meant a lot to its original owner. Hollow and bitter, like a cold drink had been thrown in his face. “Maybe…” Jasmine replied softly. “You do not think so?” The Lieutenant inquired, prodding to see if the emotions ran deeper. “Your people have crafted fine weapons and tech, do they not have a warrior’s hunger?” Jasmine had to laugh, but it was a painful, dark sound. “Just the opposite, I'm afraid ()...” Her hands held the tablet tighter and she drew in a sharp breath. There was a flash of, something. An echo of a scream. But was it in anger or anguish? The Commander could not tell. Too quickly was it repressed. His curiosity could not be contained now, there were too many unanswered questions for him to let them go unasked. “Then why does the complement hurt you so?” Jasmine shook her head. “(Damn Translator…)” The internal voice was harsh, a low growl while the one that passed her lips remained civil. “I mean, I’m sorry. The news of what the Rajava do to planets and its inhabitants is still very fresh in my mind. The thought of anyone suffering the same torture as I did… ” Her voice trembled and paused carefully with every thought out line. The alien maiden was trying desperately to contain a swarm of emotion. “I can only imagine what dignities they took from you,” Nako sympathised. “(That’s putting it lightly.)” Jasmine's hands gripped the tablet tighter as she explained to the Commander. “They tore me open and played with my organs. I felt the pain, I was nothing to them, just a warm body… A piece of meat. ()” It had been a long time since Nako had ever felt something akin to pure disgust. The intensity of emotion was almost too much, it was a wonder she did not stiff herself! Despite the suffocating sensation, however, a cold burning fire bided its fury within the small creature. It was thrilling. “You hate them, don’t you?” Jasmine’s head snapped up, and while she opened her mouth to reply, her Freq was painfully clear on the matter. Nako raised his hand for her silence. “You don’t need to answer, the mere fact that you have survived an encounter with the Ravaja with your faculties intact is an attestation to humanity’s-” Suddenly the door to Nako’s quarters slid open. “Is everything under control sire?” Tifera tried to contain the urgency in her voice as she stood just outside her Commander's quarters. “We felt the distress from the-” Nako was quick to wave off her concerns, another raised hand and flourish with the opposite. “Everything is under control, Captain,” he replied, returning to the more upstanding persona he took around crew members. “Miss Howe was recounting her ordeals with the Rajavan menace. As such, I will not be forcing her to do again otherwise.” Out from behind the behemoth Tifera, Xant practically pushed his way forward and scrambled to Jasmine’s side, hands reaching out for her shoulder before tentatively grasping themselves. “Jasmine, have your memories put you in distress?” He offered his mechanised hand in comfort, only then noticing hers were occupied with a strange looking dataslate. “Remember when I said I wouldn’t be the same for quite a while? That’s what I meant,” Jasmine reminded him. “I hope my ‘Freq-bomb’ didn’t disturb the crew too much?” Both Xant and Tifera stared at her through their suits, funny how some answers didn’t need a translator to be understood. “It was certainly noticeable…” Xant tried to soften the blow. “But, there was no instances of injury.” “Of course not!” Nako chuckled, “Need I remind you both that this is an active combat vessel? If my crew couldn’t handle a pulse like that, then they best be escorted off the REFINED.” Tifera’s ears stood up at the statement, but quickly shot back down with a look from Nako. “Miss Howe, I wish to thank you for your insight into these artifacts, they have been most enlightening.” Jasmine frowned, confused. “Oh, that’s it?” she asked, “Don’t you want to see if there are other pictures like this on here?” “More pictures?” Nako asked, surprised. “Well yeah, this is just the lock screen. I’m sure whoever owned this has more pictures on here.” She pressed a hidden button on the side of the device and the beautiful landscape shifted elegantly to another scene, from the moonlit sky to a white landscape, black trees and a torn banner planted in the snow. “I mean, I’ll do my best to try and unlock the password, but I think we’re screwed if it’s a number lock.” The alien runes surfaced as though they were made of liquid. Jasmine stared past the picture, her voice cracking in a strange cackle. “Miss Howe?” Nako asked, but he received no answer, the Commander then gave a stern look to Xant. “Jasmine?” Xant prompted, looking over at the uniformed language. Jasmine tilted the tablet so he could get a better look, her mouth grinning wide from ear to ear with white blunt teeth. “Humans,” she explained, “We personalize our dataslates, including locking them in case they get stolen. There are many different ways to secure tablets. One way is to have a question and password, and it just so happens that I know the answer to this question!” Xant looked to the screen and saw the strange runes, as she glided her finger underneath the small question. “You know nothing…” She read out loud and rapidly tapped the little white box, an entire alphabet opened up before her and she typed the answer in with ease, “Jon Snow.” All at once the screen changed again, but this time they were greeted not with a landscape, but a human face. Dark, intense eyes stared back at them, a glorious mane of black, wind tossed hair spilled down his head and shoulders, body draped in a encompassing black cape while wielding a large steel broadsword. The imposing figure stood to one side of the screen, the master of his domain, defending the right side of the screen from the multiple brightly coloured squares on the other. “Who is that?” Xant asked, studying the differences between the two humans. “The King in the North (),” Jasmine replied before remembering that these aliens took her word as gospel and didn’t want to put Mr. Harrington on an even unreasonably higher pedestal. “I mean, that’s who he portrays in fictional drama, he’s an actor. (An attractive actor, though...)” Jasmine’s explanation was once again met with confusion, “So this, actor, is influential enough to have his image present in a maiden's dataslate?” Nako asked. “He’s a lead actor in the most popular fantasy drama on the planet. He’s influential enough to have met the actual Queen.” Jasmine shrugged, “Perks of being famous.” “I see…” Nako replied not understanding in the slightest. She tapped her finger over one of the coloured squares, opening a list of even more coloured squares. “Let’s see who owned this tablet.” The human enlarged the first picture and began swiping right, one by one. It was filled with unique human faces, all with different coloured skins and manes, painted with different colours on their eyes and lips. Unique body shapes dressed in an array of different and exaggerated outfits, consuming multitudes of equally distracting liquids. Those that weren’t filled with humans were that of untouched landscapes and beautiful construction. Xant was particularly interested in the lush greenery that seemed to stretch on forever, how did they manage such farming techniques without any visible equipment? “It must belong to her.” Jasmine pointed out a recurring human. She had a slightly darker complexion to Jasmine, her mane was long and light, like faded strands of thread. The eyes that stared straight back were a vibrant green with flecks of gold, lips pouted a pale pink. “From the looks of it, her and her partner were on holiday, somewhere tropical, Southeast Asia maybe? Hard to pin down when almost all the photos are close up selfies.” The last photo in the collection was that of the mysterious platinum blond overlooking the thick jungle, miles away from the lights of whatever metropolis they started in. “(So they were out in the middle of nowhere, too.)” She exited the program, and her finger hovered over the other colourful buttons, picking the music app and taking a deep breath at the sight of the song list. “I-I never thought I’d get the chance to hear music again, another human voice or anything from home.” She looked through the list, hoping to have something truly classic for the aliens to hear for their first taste of human music. She didn’t want to inflict Justin Bieber on them unless she absolutely had to. “So it is a music recorder?” Xant deduced. “More like an entertainment and research device.” “Isn’t mixing research and entertainment counter productive?” “...Yes.” The human answered, being rightly embarrassed by the contradiction. “Honestly, they can be whatever you want them to be; the programs aren't restricted like your dataslates are, every one is completely personalised. Music tastes are just the same, whoever owned this dataslate has genres of music that I don’t, so choosing a song for you to hear is going to be very difficult.” She looked up at the crowd around her. “It might be easier to ask you what kind of music you like, it would narrow down my selection.” Nako peered over at the dataslate, now filled with line after line of alien text, wondering why the human would think such a decision would be difficult. How many songs could there to choose from? “I’m sure any song you pick will be fine.” Nako replied, unhelpful. Jasmine let out a sigh, then a small chuckle. “Random, don’t fail me now!” Blip. Xant had heard Jasmine sing many times before, always full of emotion and passion. But it truly could not have prepared him for the sound that serenaded its way from the dataslate’s speakers. Human songs held a rhythm all to themselves, sounds of deep drums and saccharine strings accompanied unknown harmonics, yet those tones only served to augment the main attraction. Smooth, sweet voices melded together in a spine-shivering harmony, effortlessly weaving lyrics as though they were instruments themselves. The language chosen to carry the full weight of the melody seeped through the layers of music, drawing out not just a reaction from the human who understood them, but echoed out through her translator in waves as strong as an ocean current. “Well I've heard there was a secret chord That David played and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? Well it goes like this: The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Well your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya She tied you to her kitchen chair And she broke your throne and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah...” Tears fell down the human’s face as she wiped them away. “Damn shuffle… I should have just picked a Rihanna song.” “That… is human music?” Xant breathed in awe. “Yeah, it certainly puts my terrible voice in perspective, huh?” Jasmine joked. “And these songs,” Nako pointed to the dataslate, “Sound as this one does?” “Nope, they’re all different,” Jasmine replied, “Different voices, different tempos, different emotions.” The cold fire burned low within her once again. “Humans have created millions and millions of songs, every one of them different. Most to be never heard again, and many more to never be written.” Xant had felt this pulse before, but now it was only a drop of what it had been. The mourning for the loss of her people. Without Freq to truly convey emotions, the human brain had found other ways to broadcast emotion. It had become sensitive to sounds and touch. The dazzling music triggered something inside the human’s brain that only she could feel. Without the translator, Xant and the other GC residents would feel nothing but the vibrations of sound. “We have other dataslates,” Nako stated, “Dozens of them are just waiting to be unlocked. The Rajava may have taken you from your people, but I can help you recover what little of their voices remain.” He offered her his undivided attention, a hand outstretched beyond his cape toward her. “We can be on the return voyage to Branch within the [hour].” Xant’s ears drooped, he could not hope to hold Jasmine on Ulessia with such an offer before her. Jasmine paused in thought, before replying in her most ambassadorial demeanor possible. “It has been explained to me that the segregation of citizen and military personnel is absolute and very rarely do you mingle with one another. If that is the case then I humbly request that I finish my business on the research station before we depart.” She handed back the pink tablet to Nako, looking over at the doctor and smiled gently. “Xant has been promising me an upgraded Translator for days and, in return, I promised to finish the report for citizenship. So if another human is in my position, they can have the option of an ordinary life. I’d like to spend as much time as I can with the Esaander staff before I leave them, Sir Nako.” Nako withdrew into himself, and stumbled over his reply. “That does sound...reasonable,” he admitted, before turning sharply towards Xant. “Doctor, how long will it take to install the translator and complete your tests?” Being put on the spot, Xant answered quickly, “It shouldn’t be more than [72 hours], Your Honour.” “That is... acceptable,” Nako replied, mulling it over in his head. “It will give my crew time to secure you your own quarters, Miss Howe.” “Thank you, Sir Nako,” Jasmine replied, taking a bow. “If you’ll excuse me, it has been many hours since I’ve eaten and I am missing my canine companions terribly.” Nako nodded understandingly. “Then once you are refreshed, the Doctor could give us a tour of the facility, to see the other specimens obtained from Earth?” Xant nodded meekly. “I shall let the Director know of the change in schedule.” Jasmine stood from her stool and waited for Xant. “Captain,” Nako addressed Tifera, “Please escort Miss Howe and her company back to the station, I have some affairs to attend to.” “Of course, Sire.” The Captain saluted before following after the errant guests. The Commander looked down at the dataslate and all the other trinkets pulled from the bowels of the Rajavan ship. His legs shook as he walked over to his desk, the toll of the suddenly shifting Freq pulses had weathered his nerves more than he was willing to let on. He had been right to listen to his instinct; the treasures were frivolous, created by a species completely alien in thinking and understanding to anyone in either the Galactic Council space or the Arvas Imperium.
