I have noticed that content solving specific problems or answering common questions seems to perform better than generic posts. If you're starting a new board, I'd probably focus on a clear niche and share useful, original content consistently for a few weeks to see what gets the most engagement.

I bought this new recently (Urban Decay Naked The Perfect 3Some Vault) from someone and am living my 2016 dreams. The palettes are brand new and check out as authentic, however the manufacturing date is 2017-2018 which doesn’t quite line up with the vault year as this vault released in 2016-2017 so I’m asking the seller about that because if it was purchased outside the US that could explain. Anyways I’m feeling nostalgic and I’m excited to have these as part of my collection! I couldn’t afford it back then but now I have adult money 😎 I love the extra touch of some of the Naked3 shadows being ready to fall out 🤌 Edit to add: and I never noticed that Half Baked was in both the first and second palettes 😆 Additional edit: did confirm with seller that she replaced the palettes later after gifting the original ones. Not in any particular order. Also, I rarely use Pinterest now and haven’t used consistently in about a year, so I may not even be fully up to date. Ads - Take them away. Reduce them. Whatever. This is the biggest thing that has made me no longer enjoy using Pinterest. Ads on top of ads on top of ads. Video ads are especially awful (see my next point). I genuinely believe my feed is more than 50% ads. Videos - Take them away. I hate that Pinterest includes videos now, especially video ads, but even videos that are not ads. It is overstimulating trying to scroll through my feed. I deleted TikTok for a reason. I don’t want to see TikToks, TikTok like videos, or TikTok imitation ads anywhere on Pinterest. Feed automatically updates as you scroll (fine) but becomes more repetitive as you save pins (not fine) - I save one picture of a type of nail art from my home page feed. Suddenly, I’m shown similar pins over and over and over. Now I’m stuck with being shown a lot of the same types of pins instead of a variety. Search function shows irrelevant results - Instead of showing what I’ve actually searched for, it shows SOME of what I’ve searched for and LOTS of pins similar to most recent saves, even when completely irrelevant to the search in terms of subject matter. Ai images - I recently had a hair appointment and was trying to find some inspiration pics to show my stylist. SO many of the pins shown to me were Ai. I don’t want to see Ai haircut ideas. I want to see real haircuts on real people with real hair textures so I can actually have an idea of what a certain style will look like on me. I am sad that what once was my favorite app is now unusable. Making boards was genuinely a hobby for me. Yes, I saved the classic recipes and ideas for my real life. But, it was also a bit of a creative outlet. That might sound silly, but I had so much fun making boards for specific aesthetics and fantasies. For example, what would my aesthetic be like if I were a mermaid? I made boards for my friends made of images that represented how I view them, and they loved them. I’ve been seeing these super subtle “skin-toned” / barely-there tattoos on Pinterest and I honestly love how they look. I’m really drawn to the soft, close-to-skin minimalist style. But whenever I look up advice for first tattoos, I keep seeing people say these are often regrettable because they can fade quickly, heal patchy, or just not age well. For people who actually have experience with very subtle neutral-toned / “skin-tone” / white-adjacent tattoos (or tattoo artists who’ve done them): * Do they really fade a lot faster than regular fine-line tattoos? * Do they end up looking patchy or scar-like? * Is there a safer way to get that “barely there” look without using pure white or literal skin-tone ink? * Are there certain ink tones (taupe, gray, brown-gray, etc.) that heal better for medium warm skin? * Would this be a bad idea for a first tattoo? I used to use Pinterest, but now it feels like the vast majority of it is just ads and genai garbage (even after disabling genai in settings). I feel like I didn’t used to have to actively dig through screen after screen of ads just to try to get some kind of art on my screen. I’ve heard that not even ad-blockers work. Does anyone know of a similar program to find and save art? I’ve tried tumblr, but the layout and ui is too confusing to navigate, especially since one image takes up the whole screen and can’t be changed. Before any of you get on your pedestal about hard work and the time needed, yes, this requires dedication, but money and easy should never be in the same sentence. That said, if you want to learn something, keep reading. If not, carry on with your day. What You’ll Need: A website (you can use Medium) A Canva account (free) A Pinterest account Referral links I won’t be going into details on how to set up your Pinterest profile or Canva account, as I’m sure you can figure that out on your own. Understanding What Does Well on Pinterest The very first thing you need to do before you start is understand what works on Pinterest and how to properly research the niches where you want to promote your articles filled with referral links. There are two key aspects you need to understand if you want any chance of success: your niche and the keywords you’ll target. In my experience, people use Pinterest to find images and ideas for home design, fashion inspiration, food, and similar topics. That’s not set in stone, though. I’m in the make money online niche, and it works just fine. To find keywords, you can use the free version of keywordtool.io. Getting Articles ChatGPT is your best friend here. Just don’t let it spit out the whole article from one prompt. You need to ask for an intro and clearly tell it what to write. Then give it your first subheading and explain what you want in that section. Then move on to the second subheading, and so on. The more input you give it, the better the output you’ll get. Otherwise, you’ll end up with generic AI slop that’s already been published thousands of times online that nobody wants to read. Creating Pins When I first started, I made the pins myself. Since I’m not a designer by trade, it took a lot of time, and they looked like crap, like a 5-year-old made them. I had to watch a few YouTube tutorials just to make sure I was using Canva properly. After dozens of trials and errors, my pin designs finally started doing well on Pinterest. Once things picked up, I scaled pretty quickly, which meant bringing a designer on board to start cranking out pins for several websites. Pro tip: See what’s ranking in your niche on Pinterest and try to copy those designs with your own unique twist. High-Converting Referral Programs As I said, I’m in the make money online niche, and for me the most profitable programs are the ones where people just have to install an app and I get paid. Most of them throw in a small signup bonus, which definitely helps people pull the trigger. For example: Branded Surveys Scrambly MobileXpression Nielsen Panel InboxDollars From time to time, someone will sign up for a REIT platform and actually invest money, so I’ll get a decent referral. But it’s nowhere near the volume of the programs mentioned above. Your links will depend on your niche. From what I’m seeing, people in the fashion niche are pushing Shein, and in home decor it’s mostly Amazon. But you’ll probably know your niche better than I do. Getting Your First Commission Now that your articles are live, it’s time to start pinning. Start with 5 pins a day, and after 20 or so days, ramp it up to 10+ a day. It usually takes about a month to get out of the Pinterest sandbox and start seeing real traction and traffic to your articles with your affiliate links. Secret Sauce: Pinterest’s Multi-Account Strategy All roads lead to one site. If you watch some of those gurus on YouTube showing insane results and how they “blew up” in a short time, they usually forget to mention that they already have a network of established accounts they use to push a new one. Same thing people used to do on Instagram with shoutouts. That said, you can use multiple Pinterest accounts to funnel traffic to one main website without triggering spam alarms. Done right, it looks natural, not shady, and it scales fast. Each niche account focuses on one narrow topic that already exists on your site. For example, one account just for cheap dinners, another for nails, a third for travel, and so on. Every account should look like a standalone creator with its own bio, boards, and pin style. It can mostly pin your content, but also some related third-party content to keep it balanced. Pinterest doesn’t care how many accounts you own. It cares about value, consistency, and relevance. 2 months ago, I decided to try and sell my digital products on Pinterest. For context, we had been having problems with him being obsessive and controlling before this.
