Looking for a recommendation - Portable Projector for classes and home
Hello, I am a professor working at a high school and university in Mexico, where I need to show some videos or slides for my classes. I need a projector that is portable, has decent brightness and sound. The room is your standard mexican classroom that has curtains to block sunlight and a whiteboard ( I know is not optimal, but here teaching rarely is). The classrooms sizes actually varies to give an exact number but the whiteboard is usually 1m tall x 2m wide. I also want to use it at home when at night after work for youtube or netflix. My room is your standard living room with no furniture and a white wall of 2.2m tall x 2m long, so I can position the projector as I please/need. Also one major point is that it should be cheap enough so I don't feel too bad if it gets robbed or falls down during transportation. My budget is $100~$200 (in US Dollars) and while I have considered those chinese in the Amazon Marketplace like the XuanPad I come here to request for a better opinion. Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/Kanaletto to r/budgetprojectors [link] [comments]

Things nobody explains clearly when you're buying even the best portable projector (and a few lies on the spec sheet)
Do spec sheets just not explain things anymore?? Ive seen that these companies rly dont agree on anything like why are lumen numbers soo different across the charts?? I'm seeing everything from 250g to 3kg labeled as portable. Before buying, check three things: actual weight, whether it has a built in battery at all (a lot don't), and battery life if it does. Those answers will tell you what portable actually means for that specific unit. Only ANSI lumens is a real standardized measurement. Regular lumens on a box are measured at the unit's brightest, most color washed mode. which i guess sounds great on paper but its rough in a room. LED lumens is even further removed from reality. A projector listed at 9,000 lumens might deliver 500–800 ANSI lumens in actual use. i found out that when comparing these find the ANSI number specifically. 300–500 ANSI lumens is genuinely usable in a dim room. 4k is not a deal breaker i think You almost certainly do not need a 4K projector. Save that money. At typical viewing distances (2–4 meters, 100-inch image) which is easy btw, you'd have to sit uncomfortably close to even notice 4K over 1080p. And most 4K portable projectors are pixel-shifted 1080p anyway and NOTTT the real native 4K sensors lol . The label is technically accurate in a veryyyyyyy generous sense of the word. lol Throw ratio is the one spec worth actually reading Throw ratio = distance from projector to screen divided by image width. A 1.5 throw ratio means 1.5 meters away for a 1-meter-wide image. Short-throw sits close to the wall. Ultra-short-throw sits right up against it. In a small bedroom or apartment ignoring this means rearranging your furniture around the projector instead of the other way around. No phone dependency, just grab the remote The issue: budget projectors often run older Android versions with limited app support. Netflix requires smth called Widevine L1 certification to stream in HD most budget projectors don't have it. You can also install the app but you'll be stuck at 480p wondering why everything looks like a fever dream. butttt always check for Widevine L1 if HD streaming matters to you. Some Myths that rlly need to die: more lumens = better picture nah you just made a bad image brighter all dlp has rainbow effect most people dont even see it and newer ones barely have it laser projectors last forever they last long not immortal chill keystone is totally fine yeah if you like sacrificing resolution for no reason you need an expensive hdmi cable you really dont unless you have extra money lying around THE THING NOBODY TALKS ABOUT ENOUGH The single biggest upgrade you can make to any portable projector setup is room darkness, not the projector itself. Going from a slightly dim room to a properly blacked out one is roughly equivalent to doubling your projector's ANSI lumens in perceived brightness. Blackout curtains cost less than most projector accessories and the impact is immediate. Sort your room before upgrading your gear. what’s the one spec you thought mattered but totally didn’t in real life? submitted by /u/pacmanGoat to r/projectors [link] [comments]

What mid-range portable projector should I get?
I don’t know much about projectors but looking to ditch our tv since we don’t use it very often. Looking for something we can move between bedroom and family room for occasional movie night, kids shows, concerts etc. Here’s what I’m looking for: Portable — moving between family room and bedroom, needs to be easy to store and set up Laser — don’t want to deal with bulb replacements HDMI (for Apple TV) + Bluetooth audio 4K preferred, 1080p acceptable Flexible image adjustment — keystone correction, easy repositioning; changing size, location, angle Daytime usability — doesn’t need to be cinema-grade in daylight, but should be watchable enough to throw tv show for kids / casual viewing Budget: $1,000-$1,500 Based in US. Hopefully my requirements / budget are not out of wack :). Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/TrailGrazer to r/projectors [link] [comments]

[USA] Portable projector under $500 for movies & light gaming (Indoor/Outdoor)
Hi everyone, I’m looking for a projector for under $500 that is portable enough to easily take between houses. I am totally fine with buying used/refurbished if it gets me better specs for the price. Use Case: Content: Movies and some light gaming. Environment: Mostly indoor use, but needs to be able to handle nighttime viewing on a blank outdoor wall. "Extra": Low latency/input lag. Good built-in speaker. Dimensions & Setup: Room Size: Setup varies, but primarily indoors in a roughly 5m x 6m room. Throw Distance: Outdoor use will likely be from about the same distance. Target Image Size: Aiming for a 100-inch image. Sorry if I'm missing any crucial details! I’m not entirely sure what else is relevant for a setup that moves around this much, so please feel free to ask if you need more information to make a recommendation. Best portable projector... my cheap Vankyo just smoked and died mid-movie
My old Vankyo Leisure fan had been grinding for weeks. Last night it literally just let out a puff of smoke and shut off completely. I paid like 60 bucks for it three years ago so whatever. But I'm honestly so done buying cheap plastic e-waste. I need an actual decent mini projector. Something I can throw in a bag for Airbnbs or just point at my bedroom ceiling when I'm tired. Mostly watching Netflix, YouTube, maybe playing some Switch games. So the input lag can't be like three full seconds. Budget is around $400 to $500 max. Right now I'm staring at the Samsung Freestyle and the XGIMI Halo+. The Freestyle looks awesome with that swivel stand. But I keep reading the software is a laggy nightmare. The Nebula Capsule 3 is also there. It's the size of a soda can which is hilarious but 200 ANSI lumens sounds completely fake. Like I'd need to be in a literal pitch-black cave to see a thing. I just want a reliable small projector where the colors don't look completely washed out. Couple things I'm stuck on before I drop this kind of cash: - Do you actually use the built-in apps or just plug a Roku stick into it? ...because I hate slow menus. - Is the Freestyle really that bad or did firmware updates fix it - How fast do the batteries degrade on these toys I'm watching YouTube on my phone right now and my neck hurts. Just tell me what to buy. submitted by /u/LipNat to r/projectors [link] [comments]

Bought three different portable projectors before learning what actually matters
spent way too much figuring out portable projector category. bought one, returned it, bought another, sold it, finally got one that actually gets used first projector: found a budget one online, forgot the name. reviews looked decent on amazon. specs said 400 lumens but image was way dimmer, felt more like 200, probably inflated numbers. setup was nightmare every time, had to manually adjust focus and keystone. used it twice and returned it. second try: went for an XGIMI Halo+, paid attention to resolution and brightness numbers. better image quality for sure but still annoying to set up. menus were confusing, auto focus inconsistent, had to fiddle with it constantly used it maybe month before realizing i was avoiding using it cause setup felt like chore. sold it on ebay. what i learned: marketing talks about 4k support and long feature lists but in actual use what matters is whether image stays sharp without constant fiddling and whether its bright enough for your space. specs dont mean much if picture dim or annoying to line up every time portable units honestly very easy to manage when done right. you set it down, angle it where you want, and thats it. doesnt require constantly fighting through tough to navigate menus. when projector easy to use it actually gets used more frequently compared to complicated ones auto setup features worth it. 30 seconds vs 10 minutes determines whether you actually use equipment or it collects dust third one: went with the nebula x1 pro for the auto setup stuff mostly (not perfect, sometimes takes a few tries to get it right), but honestly the biggest surprise was the built in surround sound. didnt expect projector speakers to actually sound good but it saved me from dealing with separate audio gear. speckled images occasionally and blacks arent as deep as benq or sony but portability makes up for it. been using it few weeks now, way less hassle than before the biggest mistake people make with this category is ending up with something that technically works but feels like a hassle. if you're deciding to get one at least get something where you know what you're getting is reliable, don't just look at specs on paper. 1080p that works instantly better than 4k that requires constant adjusting. ease of use beats resolution numbers point is, if projector annoying to use you wont use it. ive learned this multiple times hopefully someone saves hassle from my mistakes. submitted by /u/Weird_Perception1728 to r/projectors [link] [comments]

Download the latest version here: What’s inside: Safe to Recycle (A–Z) + Keep lists for Workshop / Quests / Expedition Selling vs Recycling table ranked by % gain/loss (value change) “Recycles into” at sell value (see the math behind each decision) High-priority components — best donors, drop cues, and use cases Recycling & crafting priorities for high-demand parts Keycards Cheat Sheet — where each key is used (map pins + video links) Where to find loot — links to interactive maps Searchable PDF (latest: v3) Free & up to date: I host the latest file and changelog on Ko-fi so links don’t break and you can opt into update notifications. Everything stays free. Happy raiding! // pRoDeeD Updates: Mechanical Components does not recycle into Steel Spring. → Changed to Rusted Tools Damaged Heat Sink → Removed from Safe to Recycle as it was used in Utility Station lvl 2 upgrade. submitted by /u/pRoDeeD to r/ArcRaiders [link] [comments]

[OC] ARC Raiders Sell vs Recycle Cheat Sheet V3 (Searchable PDF)
Hello Raiders! Huge thanks for all the kind words, corrections, and suggestions lately. I’m super grateful! I’ve had a ton of requests for a clear Recycling vs Selling guide and more efficient ways to craft, so here’s V3. Up to date: All component values + recipes aligned with the current patch. Future updates: I’ll post new versions on my Ko-fi so there’s one place for everything (and optional notifications). Not a paywall — everything stays free! Download .PDF (Version 1.1) Features (V3): Searchable in PDF viewer Selling vs Recycling table ranked by % gain/loss (ROI) What each item recycles into at sell value (so you see the math) High-priority components + best ways to obtain them (drop frequency, ROI, use case) Recycling & crafting priority for high-demand parts Where to find specific loot (Interactive Maps) Happy crafting, and keep the feedback coming. If you spot anything off after a patch, drop a comment and I’ll fix it in the next update. // pRoDeeD Updates: Reduced PDF complexity for faster browser performance and smaller file size; added icons marking components needed for workshop upgrades, expeditions, and projects (credit to u/Revolutionary-Two457); added a reference to Looting Cheat Sheet v2.1 and renamed this sheet to “Sell vs Recycle v1” to complement—not replace—the looting guide. Thank you for all the feedback! Added Full Resolution 18mb (no compression) and Light version 6.3mb (compressed). Keep in mind full resolution is very demanding for your browser/PDF reader. submitted by /u/pRoDeeD to r/ArcRaiders [link] [comments]

Quick-glance Recycling Guide — What to Keep vs. Safely Recycle (with quest uses)
BE AWARE UPDATED VERSION HERE: Hey Raiders! I made a one-page visual cheat-sheet to help remember which scraps to keep for quests/upgrades and which you can safely recycle at a glance. It’s based on a list by u/Xi4 and his post from a few days ago: List of recycable items you need to KEEP for QUESTS I will try and keep it up to date if quests change or someone finds mistakes. Updates: Version 2.1 - Images updates, Adjustments based on feedback and 65% Smaller file size Future revisions will be on my Ko-fi as it allows me to make one place for all updates and new releases. What's the best Portable projector?
Im looking to buy a mini projector, theres so many brands online and half of them look the same. i just want something that works decent for movies and maybe gaming without costing a fortune. Would be nice if its bright enough to watch with a little light in the room and not super blurry. i dont need crazy theater quality but i also dont wanna waste money on junk. would also be cool if its a decent size so i can take with me on trips. Anyone here found the best portable projector they really liked or one they regret buying? trying to get some real advice before i make a decision. submitted by /u/Fischer12391 to r/projectors [link] [comments]

It's not dumb if it works!
15 minutes in CAD and a few iterations to solve a problem that only I have. We wanted to be able to use our little portable projector in the bedroom, but without optical zoom the image was far too large from across the room. That's how we ended up here. Pretty happy with how well it works. submitted by /u/CaesarOfSalads to r/functionalprint [link] [comments]

What portable projector should I get?
Our TV is having some issues, but given the room and space for a projector screen we're considering getting a portable projector. We're looking for a portable (or one that isn't explicitly called portable but can be) one to get. So that way it can be something we can even setup in the garden for Summer nights or sleepovers etc. We're looking for one that: 1. can connect with a Google Hub/Chromecast, a PS5 and even phones & laptops. 2. We're fine with 1080p, but I imagine the bigger the projection the worser it'll look... but I assume it won't look too bad though... right? 3. Our budget might be quite low... £500. It can stretch if the quality/specs are worth it. What's your advice? Which do you have? And what's the pros and cons? Any particular ones to look out for? Or is it better off getting a normal projector? Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/RBIsmail to r/projectors [link] [comments]
