Characters getting exactly what they asked for and regretting it immediately. Bonus points when it serves as the antithesis to the protagonist's journey. Irina Spalko - Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: having cornered Jones’ crew and returning the missing crystal skull, Irina Spalko wishes to “know everything”. The aliens grant her this and begin flooding her mind with every bit of knowledge about the universe at once. This proves to be too much for the human mind to comprehend as her eyes begin to burn out of her head before she de-atomizes completely all while begging for the information to stop. Absorbing man - Hulk: Absorbing man (also Bruce Banner's abusive dad in the 2003 film) as the name implies has the power to absorb the properties of any material he comes in contact with. In the climactic fight with the Hulk, Absorbing man initially appears to have a leg up in the duel as the angrier the Hulk gets the more gamma radiation he can absorb and essentially leech to increase his own power. The Hulk decides to use that power against him to unleash the full brunt of arguably infinite gamma filled rage and childhood trauma to overload Absorbing man in to a giant cloud of writhing energy begging for the Hulk to take it all back before being hit and killed by a gamma charge bomb from General Ross. Kai - Kung fu panda 3: Having already stolen the chi from the other kung fu masters in the spirit realm, Kai targets Po in hopes of absorbing his power to get him out of the way and continue with his plan of defeating any remaining living kung fu masters. In their final battle, a spiritually souped-up Po (thanks to the power of friendship) allows Kai to absorb all of his chi stating "you want my chi so bad? then take it". Kai, happy at first, realizes quickly and far too late that it’s too much before exploding in to spirit energy. Jafar - Aladdin: Jafar wishes to be made in to a genie as they hold absolute power over the universe. He gets exactly what he wishes for only realizing as the shackles appear on his wrists what becoming a genie really means. As he's pulled down into his own lamp it seemingly dawns on him that he'll only ever be able to use that awesome power at the command of other people‘s wishes and will never be able to move freely again, or as Aladdin puts it “phenomenal cosmic powers! I forgot I had an event to attend yesterday, and could barely work on 4 colors by staying up till 2am, despite already having been going off 3 hours of sleep all day. So, the rest of the requested colors should be made and approved either later tonight or tomorrow! For now, these are what I have! Also, I have some test wallpapers made selling for 125 that aren’t gonna be the official ones sold. Feel free to grab it or the official ones. Lastly, I hope you like the blurred wall designs on some of the wallpapers! The first example that comes to mind is him attending the funeral (or manorial or remembrance. I’m genuinely struggling to remember what it was exactly) of the soldiers who died in the afghan withdrawal. Every vet day or Memorial Day I’ve seen him conduct was very respectful. The biggest example of him being good to the military is giving them a parade. We can get into policy stuff like him trying to stop WW3. Went for a quick, cheap, and bold fix - and it certainly looks quick, cheap, bold, and hideous. Turns out I have no sense of style or design. Thought the green and burgundy would be an interesting contrast but everything just looks sooooo cheap. I can’t afford to change the sink or faucet right now (but life pro tip: NEVER ever ever get this sink or faucet- hate everything about it), and don’t really want to change the lights or cabinet since I just got them, but would really really appreciate any other advice to make this less horrific. Please be gentle, I know its bad. 😩 Some possible fixes I was considering: • definitely getting rid of the weird gold lined picture and the cheap looking candle holders • getting rid of the gold, black, and purple thing and going with shades of green and more muted things like eucalyptus or something (I really have no idea) • maybe adding wallpaper somewhere?
