Interesting. I was just researching this today. I liked the Cerave Retinol resurfacing serum when I used it. It's good for acne-prone and oily skin as well as first-time retinol users. I have balanced/normal skin, but I do get pimples here and there.

Retinol Night Serum—how cautious should I be? [Product Question]
Basically what my post to r/traderjoes is asking. Will I be okay using the retinol night serum more than 2X weekly? What are your experiences with it? I want to stop using Cerave so when I ran out this morning, I reupped at TJ’s. I love so much of their skincare. submitted by /u/SituationFederal5955 to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

Retinol Night Serum—how cautious should I be?
Hey all! I’ve seen a lot of discussion about how strong the TJ’s retinol night serum is. On the bottle, it suggests going from 2X weekly up as tolerated. I currently use Cerave’s Skin Renewing Retinol Serum every night. I’m thinking I can do the night serum at least 3X weekly, right? I have ADHD and it’s kinda hard to remember to do things just some nights. My brain can’t hold routines easily unless they are daily. What are your experiences with this serum? Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/SituationFederal5955 to r/traderjoes [link] [comments]

Bondi Sands Retinol Serum thoughts?
Has anyone tried the bondi sands retinol serum? I'm in my mid 20s and have sensitive skin, but i want to try incorporating retinol into my skincare routine. I've been searching up different kinds of retinol recommendations looking for beginner friendly retinol that isnt too expensive and hopefully available at chemist warehouse, mecca or sephora and this was one that popped up. Wanted to know some honest reviews on it and if it would be suitable for a beginner? I've been looking at cerave as well. I'm open to any recommendations, I have sensitive and dry skin most of my skincare is focused on hydrating and soothing using exfoliating toner pads alternatively. submitted by /u/Necessary-Creme-7776 to r/AusSkincare [link] [comments]

An update and a thank you!
Hello lovelies! Late last year I posted here asking if my routine was working. I was under the false perception that, living in Norway, i did not need spf during winter, even if i was doing extremely sensitising things with my skin (microneedling, exfoliating, retinol). You guys rightly pointed this out and sinse then I have made some adjustments: 1. I OF COURSE use spf 50+ everyday 2. I have started tretinoin (i think 0,5%), going at maybe 4-5 times a week currently 3. I have stopped all other harsh actives, only using niacetamide, snailmucin and the occational Argeraline. Just because it clearly shows- i have also had an upper bleph So yes, I just wanted to say thankyou! ❤️ I clearly still have a long way to go, but I do feel there is a difference in both my skin and the pictures. My plan is go to add Vitamin c next, focusing more on the hyperpigmentation. Morning: "cleanse" with water Occationals: Ordinary coffeine eye cream, and argeraline serum Beauty of joseon dynasty cream og cerave dry skin lotion Sunscreen (I go for the korean ones everyone else uses, currently its the boj probiotics one and it works great - as have all the rest ive tried) Evening: Doublecleanse: boj cleansing oil and inkey list fulvic acid (Thinking of switching/alternating with the oat one as my skin is still getting used to tretinoin) Occational: boj retinal eye cream, and argeraline serum Tretinoin (Cordes VAS 0,5%) Same moisturizer as morning Occational: La roche posay cicaplast Im out of the dynasty cream and i think i will try to add a toner with niacetamide in and then use my cerave lotion as moisturizer. submitted by /u/Single_Education_777 to r/30PlusSkinCare [link] [comments]

I cannot believe the difference from 24 days ago thanks to asking for advice!
I came asking for help with all the fine lines on my face and you guys delivered! I didn’t realize just how dehydrated my face was and that I was due for some changes in routine. I wasn’t expecting my skin to change so much already (I’m 33) but clearly I needed some changes! I’m so thankful for this group 🤍 New routine: So I cleanse at night only and then I do all the other steps both morning and night. At night I’ve been slugging with aquaphor but I’ve gone down to only 2-3 days a week for that now. La roche posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser for Dry Skin Milky toner from Paula’s choice The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Hydrating Serum with Ceramides Then at night for moisturizer I’m using CALM Rescue & Repair Intensive Moisturizer Paula’s choice Morning moisturizer is Pro-Collagen Peptide Plumping Moisturizer I use DRMTGLY tinted moisturizer with spf but it’s been pilling lately with the new changes so I think I’m going to be on the hunt for another one. Id like to work retinol back in eventually but I’m scared because I think that was one of the products that messed up my barrier in the first place 🤷🏻♀️ submitted by /u/weddingaccount060417 to r/30PlusSkinCare [link] [comments]

[Product Question] Which CeraVe Retinol for my situation?
39yr/Male Resurfacing seems to have more reviews and often gets recommended in YouTube videos by dermatologists. But I don't have acne and never did...well at least anything notable. I do occasionally get rosacea and have used Soolantra to clear it up. I'm mostly trying to reduce fine lines and secondarily smooth out skin tone. All points seem to steer me to the anti-againg (Skin Renewing) cream. I do have very dry and sensitive skin. I cannot use my prescription tretinoin because I can not use it more than 1x a week (I've tried for months). It was suggested to try retinol instead. Thoughts? Or am I overthinking this. submitted by /u/sawdustking to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

Thoughts on CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol? I’m a little scared to try it [Product Question]
I have sensitive, breakout prone skin, but with my current routine I haven’t had major acne lately, just a few spots here and there. I’m in my late 20s and have been thinking about slowly incorporating a gentle retinol in my routine. I often break out from new products and I know retinol can cause purging. I wouldn’t mint a shorter period with some acne because I have experience with it, but I’m afraid that it will cause major, inflamed breakouts. I know a lot of people say CeraVe products caused really bad acne for them, but I saw others praising this retinol for being gentle on the skin. Any tips or experiences with it? I was going to start it with the sandwich method and only once maximum twice a week. submitted by /u/Green-Tea1876 to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

[Acne] Struggled with a decade of acne and been clear for 5 years. Here is everything I’ve tried vs everything that’s worked + my current routine.
pic 1: taken AFTER my accutane course. my acne here is still much better in this then it used to be. Apologies for the low quality, I hated pictures because I was super insecure hence why I don’t have ones from before accutane either. pic 2: makeup only on my eyes and lips, nothing on my skin except sunscreen and moisturizer. My eyebrows are microbladed. FULL DISCLOSURE #1: I am not a dermatologist nor a licensed esthetician. I am a registered nurse with a basic understanding of microbiology and human anatomy who has spent way too many hours on skincare YouTube. What I’ve detailed below is what worked for me, and by no means what works for everyone else. FULL DISCLOSURE #2: I’ve had pico laser done once in office to help with post inflammatory hyperpigmentation as well as laser removal of my flat facial moles. FULL DISCLOSURE #3: I am not sponsored by, nor do I have any conflict of interest with any of these brands I list. Things I’ve tried that didn’t work (before y’all come for me please remember that I started this journey when I was like 10 😂) - benzoyl peroxide (I am allergic 😭) - spironolactone - clay masks - scrubs/ physical exfoliation (St. Ives 😱) - peel off masks - salicylic acid acne clearing pads - proactiv (the entire set) - pore strips - Mario badescu drying lotion - witch hazel - Clinique clarifying lotion - 10 step Korean skin care routine (I didn’t curate it, I just bought blindly based off of what had good reviews 🤦♀️) - snail mucin - essence and/ or toner - Chinese medicine (I don’t even know what I was taking tbh.) - not moisturizing “because I was too oily” - any type of DIY mask (lemon juice, egg, honey, olive oil, yogurt, rice water, u name it) - topical clindamycin Things that worked but don’t currently use: - Accutane (I did a 6 month course; acne came back eventually but SO much improvement in severity) - CeraVe SA cleanser - rx Sodium Sulfacetamide cleanser (cleansing with sulfur is one of the things I truly believe saved my skin. I still break out when I go without my sulfur for too long. I think it’s bullshit when people say your face wash doesn’t matter - sulfur absolutely matters for me) - oral doxycycline (worked only while I was actively using, but was worried about antimicrobial resistance) - ZitSticka Skin Discipline multivitamin capsules (genuinely helped my skin but was too expensive and was able to wean off of them over the course of trial and error x 1 year) Current Regimen AM: - cleanse CeraVe hydrating cream to foam cleanser - serum: glossier super pure (niacinamide and zinc - been repurchasing this for over 6 years now) - moisturizer: glossier after baume (my HG moisturizer: super thick and luxurious but doesn’t break me out) - sunscreen + vit c: melano CC sunscreen spf 50++++ PM - first cleanse: glossier milky jelly cleansing balm (doesn’t really matter what first step cleanser I use tbh. I’ve used banila co, the inkey list, CeraVe makeup balm, etc. as long as it removes makeup and sunscreen well I’m good) - second cleanse: Dermaharmony 5% Sulfur and 2% Salicylic Acid Liquid Castile Soap (I switched to this from using CeraVe SA + rx Sulfur cleanser because I was tired to carrying around 2 bottles as well as having to get an rx for my sulfur wash. I absolutely still need Salicylic acid AND sulfur in my regimen. - moisturizer: glossier after baume - agency skincare formula for hyperpigmentation: tretinoin 0.035% + tranexamic acid 5% + dexpanthenol 1% + niacinamide 4% - when I’m super dry, esp in the winter: Elizabeth Arden advanced ceramide capsule (I usually just use like 1/3 of a capsule and leave the rest in the clean spot for later. Glossier future dew works okay too, just doesn’t spread as nicely) + I skip my retinol for a night General rules (these are also critically important) 1. Don’t touch your face unless you’ve just washed your hands. 2. Dedicate a towel for your face and treat it like it’s sterile. Don’t use it for anything else but your face. Don’t hang it near the toilet (invisible fecal particles erupt from your toilet when u flush). 3. Change your face towel and your pillowcases at LEAST every 4ish days. I like to do every 2. I have a million old T-shirts that can be used as pillowcases. When a side gets “old”, flip it to the other side and you’re gucci. 4. Pat when you’re drying with a towel. Be gentle. Don’t rub your face ever. I also prefer to lather my face wash with a foaming net until I have a thick, dense cloud. You don’t want to be tugging or manually scrubbing at your skin. Let the micro bubbles do the work. 5. Please wash that damn makeup sponge/ brush with soap and water after every use 😩 and deep clean with boiling water if it’s safe to do so every couple of uses. I just throw my wet beauty blender in the microwave with some water in a bowl for 3 minutes every 6-7 uses (the manufacturer does not recommend this as it may cause the blender to deform or lose integrity. I’ve never had an issue. Move forward at your own discretion) Treat your makeup like it’s sterile too - only a clean brush/ clean finger is allowed to touch it. Sorry it’s so long! I hope this helps someone :) submitted by /u/plaesma to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

CeraVe 10% stabilized Ascorbic Acid serum and purple retinol are now available in EU!
For over 2 years it was only available in the US and UK. Now they seem to appear in EU, but I couldn't find anything here in Germany, but turns out polish CeraVe already sells them! They both cost 30 euro, but it's introductory pricing so it's always out of mind. submitted by /u/No-Layer3215 to r/EuroSkincare [link] [comments]

[B&A] Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Serum results. Started January 31st and it’s a miracle!
I have had such a hard time getting rid of these forehead wrinkles. I tried so many different serums. Some made my face extremely dry. Some caused major breakouts and red spots. I knew PTR was a good brand, so it was my last ditch effort. I am truly astounded by how amazing this product has worked. First pic is 12/21/24. Second pic is 02/03/25. Third pic is 02/12/25. Morning: wash with water, no cleanser Clindamycin ointment (prescribed) Clean & Clear dual action moisturizer (salicylic acid acne treatment) Night: wash with Cerave acne foaming cleanser (benzoyl peroxide acne treatment) Clindamycin ointment (prescribed) Peter Thomas Roth night serum (retinol 1.5%) Cerave facial moisturizing lotion (niacinimide and hyaluronic acid) Only thing that changed in my 2 year long routine was the night serum in the last 2 weeks. Bottle says to build up to nightly use but I had no issues starting it nightly. Skin type: Usually acne prone and oily. Used to have cystic acne from birth control. That’s why I am prescribed Clindamycin. Not sure if I still need the Clindamycin, but I don’t want to take any chances because the acne was painful and scarring. I drink water constantly and eat a particular diet (celiacs, so eating gluten causes acne breakouts), and work in hard labor, so my face does get extremely sweaty for approximately 5 hours 5 days a week. I have had some purging of small closed comedomes, but it was nowhere near as intense as I thought it would be. If you’re acne prone or naturally oily, this may be good for you! I’m not sure how people with dry skin would fare. It is a serum in a dropper bottle that does not feel particularly oily, which I love. Please let me know how this worked for you longterm if you’ve used it! I’m already so stoked on this. Even the ‘dent’ I’ve had on my forehead has slowly gone away. I know it’s not a wrinkle but wtf? I had to run and tell you guys lol. submitted by /u/averagemeatballguy to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

41F skin seems best at this age
I’ve had problematic skin since I was a teen and it’s not until I reached my 40s that it’s actually playing ball now. Has anyone else found this too? Took long enough! I found this routine and ditching the foundation has helped loads. Carbon theory charcoal cleansing bar The body shop camomile cleansing butter The ordinary copper peptide serum ROC multi correxion vitamin c serum Neutrogena 0.5% salicylic acid moisturiser Neutrogena 7% aha liquid exfoliant (great cheaper dupe for Paula’s Choice) Cerave retinol serum once a week Instead of foundation I now use Dr Jart’s Cicapair and whatever random concealer I have with a translucent setting powder to stop the oiliness. I suffer from RBF 😂 so get regular botox for frown lines and I’m looking into co2 laser for under my eyes and an upper bleph soon. I’ve noticed my eyes in particular are looking way more tired at this age. I’ve got a really square jaw so was contemplating masseter botox but been told this can cause jowls so think I’ll avoid that one! submitted by /u/crystalyzex to r/30PlusSkinCare [link] [comments]
