[Routine Help] Rosehip Oil or Vitamin C Oil?
So basically, I want to add a new oil to my skincare routine. Mainly to get an overall even skin tone, brighten, and reduce dark spots (from acne and sun exposure). I've been researching around, and based off the hundreds of websites and yt videos, the top two contenders seem to be either vitamin C oil or Rosehip oil. Has anyone tried these? Or does anyone have any advice on them? I'm not sure which one to get. submitted by /u/engineergirl102 to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

Worsening cheek wrinkles since turning 30
These have been worsening and I don’t know what to do anymore - I hate smiling now. I work in the outdoor industry. I’ve started to use sunscreen now but there was a couple years I didn’t (🥲). Unfortunately I still spend a lot of time in the sun and sunscreen the best I can but I can’t use retinol either because of this (I’m aware retinol is fine with sunscreen but unfortunately I work on rivers studying fish so I’m wet a lot and reapply a lot etc etc but still not perfect). Botox isn’t an option for me either. These weren’t as much of a problem until I moved to a high altitude desert (very dry). I’m wondering if my skin is just exhausted and dry as well? I know they are also probably wrinkles. But can hydration maybe improve it? Just adopted a skincare routine with light probiotic cleansing milk, rosehip oil, cerave moisturizer. Occasionally Andalou Resveratrol Q10 night repair crème but I was totally maybe I should just stop that for a while and hydrate my skin and fix the barrier? Before this, I didn’t have any facial routine. Don’t wear make up. Didn’t clean my face. Nothing. Thank you for any advice…. I really need it and appreciate it ❤️ Pic of me not smiling included so you can see how skin looks. TLDR: have never had face routine, just adopted one. Live in high desert + work in outdoors. Need help and advice and hope. Yes, I sunscreen (period of 1 year where I didn’t). submitted by /u/Wyomingyeehaw to r/30PlusSkinCare [link] [comments]

How much rosehip oil should I add to my moisturizer?
I just purchased 100% pure rosehip seed oil and I’ve heard it’s good for scarring. I’m planning to use it on certain parts of my body and want to mix it into my unscented moisturizer. Assuming I use about 1-2 pumps of my moisturizer bottle for those areas (something equivalant to a teaspoon of moisturizer), how many drops of rosehip oil should I add? submitted by /u/Pitiful_Pineapple_45 to r/beauty [link] [comments]

[Product Question] Rosehip oil
Good morning everyone and Happy New Year! 🎆 I have a few questions I’m hoping to get advice on. I had gastric bypass, lost almost 170 pounds, went from 377 to 210. Looking great, feeling great! However, I noticed that I’m starting to have dry flaky spots on my face, and I’m getting bags under my eyes. I’m 41, so the bags don’t necessarily bother me, it’s part of the aging process, but the dry spots are bad. My dermatologist suggested rosehip oil, he says it helps tighten the skin, provides more moisture and may even help with the bags. It has the good vitamins like A C and E that is essential for the skin. I just started using it like 3 days ago, he suggested once in the morning, and once before bed. I’m noticing a difference yet, he says it may take a few days/weeks to notice a change as everyone’s skin is different. I have been seriously self conscious going out in public because of the dry patches on my face. It looks horrible. My husband says I’m still beautiful and it doesn’t bother him, but I feel like he HAS to say that because he’s my husband. Like he can’t say “babe your face is gross” you know what I mean? I guess questions would be, is rosehip oil really good? Has anyone used it and it helped their skin? Will it help with the dry flaky skin on my face? Are there any other recommendations you guys may have that I can try? submitted by /u/BellaBaby318 to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

Regrew my hair - 12 month update.
Over the past 12 months i’ve managed to regrow pretty much 80-90% of my hair back. I first shaved my head on 1st August 2024 and started topical minoxidil 5% and topical finasteride 0.25%. I didn’t really have high expectations, i have been going bald since my mid 20’s - i’m currently 40. I noticed some early regrowth in the first month or so but i had to wear a hat to work and it was pretty slow progress. Around month 4-5 i started really noticing quite a bit of regrowth and thicker hairs. At month 7-8 i could get a haircut and grow out my hair and stopped wearing a hat to work. Since then it’s been shedding for 4 months that has now stabilised and my hair is thicker and better than ever. My gf says it’s better than when she met me 8 years ago. I am still taking minoxidil 5% topical 2 x per day. 1ml of 0.25% finasteride topical 1 x per day. I micro needle 1 x per week at 1.5mm and apply minoxidil straight away. I’ve been lucky and have had no side effects. I also use quercetin, coq10/pqq, rosehip, tumeric/black pepper, biotin daily in capsules and 1 x per week i apply an oil called the Mane Elixir blend which has about 10 different oils. I sporadically use a red light cap and wash my hair 2 x per week with ketaconazole 2% shampoo and use a silicon scalp massager daily in the shower. I also eat pretty healthy - cut out sugar and processed food and work out 4-5 times a week. My advice to anyone is to be consistent. Get a routine and stick to it. That is the single most important thing. There are hard days - particularly the sheds but its all worth it in the end and i am very much still in the beginning of the process and learning. My last post in April had people thinking i have had a hair transplant, but i hope my progress pics here will prove otherwise. Thanks to this community i’ve learnt a lot and managed to get my hair back. My crown is still recovering a bit from a 4 month shed, my hairline is still a work in progress but its filling in and baby hairs growing now in the temples. Overall i am obviously delighted with the results. I never expected when i started this journey 12 months ago i would be sitting here now with pretty much a full head of hair. I’ve added some progress pics in the comments. submitted by /u/Streetsofbleauseant to r/tressless [link] [comments]

Just turned 37, always working on acceptance
Routine: Infrequent use of TO Glycolic Acid and very limited occasional use of their AHA BHA Peeling Solution. Infrequent use of their Azelaic Acid and Hyaluronic Moisturizer. I add in their Rosehip Seed Oil and Agiraline to the moisturizer and apply all at the same time(I might be a heathen). Infrequent use of Tazarotene(I don't sandwich or apply anything other than this when I do use it) and Infrequent use of Beauty of Joseon Sunscreen. I'm really trying to be better about applying sunscreen consistently. I am quite the homebody, though. I always apply when I leave the house! Everything is so inconsistent because I struggle with executive function and easily lose track of time(waiting between applying different things rarely works). I don't use any cleanser, just water on a clean cotton washcloth. For a while, I was also using Peach & Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum I got it as a gift from my mom. I genuinely really liked it so I'm planning to purchase more. I usually am on top of my skincare regimen for a few days, then fall off for a few days, then get back to it, repeat. There are a few things I'm unhappy with like some volume loss under my eyes and some volume loss in my cheeks, but I don't think I'm prepared to pursue any injections at this time, maybe PRP/PRF someday? I am trying to learn to accept any signs of aging, though. Oh, and I also intermittently use my red light therapy box! Only makeup in these pics is a bit of mascara and a bit of brow pencil. I have never been very expressive which I'm sure helps a lot to limit expression lines. submitted by /u/LaceyBambola to r/30PlusSkinCare [link] [comments]

Thoughts on rose hip seed oil
Has anyone used this TO oil? I’m interested in buying it due to the positive feedback about how rosehip oil helps with dry, irritated skin and is also beneficial for acne inflammations. I'm not sure how much of that is true, so I wanted to ask here first. I have combination, dehydrated, sensitive skin, and I also have acne. Currently, I'm dealing with closed comedones and inflamed pimples. Will this oil help in any way? submitted by /u/Cold_Clerk_1242 to r/TheOrdinarySkincare [link] [comments]

Slugging Queen with no makeup and great lighting :D
(36F)Skincare Routine Topical Human Race Rice powder cleanser ( whenever I feel like I need it) Human Race Lotus Enzyme Exfoliator ( once a week) Human Race Moisturizer ( a few times a week, depending on how my skin feels) pure Rosehip Oil seed extract daily ( night and day ) -Rosewater spray ( as needed ) sometimes I use Almond Oil on face ( I use it on body daily ) Mango butter on neck. I whipped it with avocado oil and jojoba oil and am loving it I started slugging with Aquaphor and I’m loving it. ( twice a week ) I don’t use sunscreen daily ( I’ m not advising that anyone does this, this is just what I do) I live in NYC and I struggle with low vitamin D levels. I don’t get much sun in the winter months even when I try. My natural complexion is a lot darker than this. I make it a point to get 20 min of sun a day if possible. During summer if I know I’m gonna be out more than 20 minutes I use mineral sunscreen. Things that I believe might affect my skin non-topical: I do red light therapy 5 times a week with a mitopro 300 panel Face Yoga ( polina on Youtube) she’s helped my neck enormously Hydration. I have a reverse osmosis system and remineralize our water with trace minerals. I also take LMNT for hydration I exercise Guasha I recently purchased the theraface. Has it changed my life? No. Does it make me feel good? yes lol ** I’ve posted about using Retinoid/Retinols before and how I believe it caused my eyebrow and hair to fall out - I suspect due to Vitamin A toxicity. This is why I avoid them but also because I get overwhelmed by the amount of products/info so I just keep it simple ** submitted by /u/lordshivashiba to r/30PlusSkinCare [link] [comments]

[PSA] I know a lot of people already know this, BUT for those who don’t, ROSEHIP SEED OIL IS AMAZEBALLS for fading PIE.
A little back story: about 8 months ago I would use an at home lactic acid peel (oops) about once every 5 days to try and help fade my PIE. It did absolutely nothing for me! I cut the lactic acid out completely and just used my regular acne products. A little over a month ago I introduced rose hip seed oil to my routine and DANG. today I was looking in the mirror and I’m like “is dat me?” Lol. I still have quite a few PIE marks but they HAVE faded and I HAVE seen progress. It’s so frustrating to use a product for a few months and feel like it’s not doing anything! Please give it a shot if you haven’t! I know the ordinary is under controversy, but I use their rosehip seed oil! Edit: for those asking about PIE/PIH & what it is https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/comments/75hr6k/misc_ive_seen_a_lot_of_people_telling_others_they/?st=JIES3N25&sh=a827bb01 submitted by /u/broccoliandbeans to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

[personal] product rave for acne: aloe vera gel + rosehip seed oil!
Ever since coming off hormonal birth control ~4 years ago, my skin has suffered from regular cystic acne flare ups across my jawline/neck. Be it related to hormones, stress, dairy, sugar/carbs, insect bites (eww) or yeast — just about anything was giving me multiple hard nodules of pussy, red, PIH aftermath acne that lasted WEEKS and would often flare right back up in the same spots. I tried so many things: betonite clay masks or various acid peels (AHA/BHA) helped a bit, but my skin was often dry and irritated from the vinegar or active acids. Various moisturizing products helped but often broke me out worse (snail cream, y u betray me?!) and I was basically at a stand still. But on a whim, one day I tried moisturizing more... slugging it up, super thick... with the Trader Joe’s aloe vera gel mixed with 4-5 drops of rose hip seed oil. Oh my god guys. Oh. My. God. Cystic acne? Almost entirely gone and flare ups are way less common/severe. Red marks and scarring? Rapidly fading. Closed comedones? Barely seeing them now. Oh yeah, and my eyebrows and eyelashes are growing. PRAISE BE TO THE SKINCARE GODS FOR I HAVE FOUND MY HOLY GRAIL! So to anyone who bothered reading this: if you have super sensitive, “f*** your plans have some cystic acne instead” and reactive skin like me.... maybe you just need an ultra bland, healing moisturizer! Yay! EDIT ANSWERING QUESTIONS: What brands? Ingredients in it? https://i.imgur.com/qdjlpM0.jpg THIS STUFF https://i.imgur.com/TTfqEnF.jpg INGREDIENTS How much do you mix? I mix before each use. So like a quarter size blob of aloe vera + 4-5 drops rosehip seed oil! How long until you saw improvement? How many times do you use daily? For me, 24-48 hrs (aka 2-4 uses morning/night, more product at night with more oil to soak in). First use saw calming of redness/inflammation, smoother skin texture overall, then by 3-4 uses shrank my cystic acne down to like half the size. One week of this combined with 2x weekly betonite + acv spot treatment mask on cysts totally smoothed it all out and healed it FLAT, with much less PIH scarring than before. It helps with fading old marks too! Did you use any products besides the aloe and oil? Like a toner or stridex pad? 2x a week: betonite clay + ACV mask. Occasional transitioning to more regular (every other night) use of stridex (red box) wipes for remaining texture concerns. My fav combo is the 50 shades of snail routine of stridex / betonite clay mask / oil cleansing followed by a thick slug of aloe. submitted by /u/tropiq to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

[Product Question]Does rosehip oil have any real benefits for the skin or is it all just marketing? (x-post r/Skicareaddiction)
The beauty brains says it's not any better than a normal moisturizer. But I wonder if there's any reliable sources that might think differently. I hear so much about rosehip oil and it seems to be everywhere. I was going to use it as an antioxidant serum for prevention. But The Beauty Brains says that the antioxidants in it don't have a high enough concentration to do anything for your skin more than a normal moisturizer. I already own some rosehip oil by Sukin and I find that it's annoying to use cause it leaves a bit of a film on my skin and if I use too much my skin becomes a bit irritated and dry from it. But normally it feels ok on my skin as long as i don't use too much but I don't like the film it leaves on my skin. So I just want to hear about your experience with it and whether you think it does anything to your skin? Is it worth to keep using it? Edit: Also websites such as Livestrong seems to deem it helpful against photo aging. So it's all very conflicting information. submitted by /u/rightrough to r/AsianBeauty [link] [comments]

does anyone here use rosehip oil?
I've heard some good things about it for extra moisture and PIH but I'm not sure if it would be a good idea for dry, sensitive skin on Retin-a. Any thoughts? submitted by /u/miraculously to r/tretinoin [link] [comments]
