Tw: Alcoholism. Spoilers for SDV. ​ We had been dating for nearly 3 years, and it just became too much. My ex gf (23) discovered Stardew Valley at the start of 2022, she was struggling with alcohol and depression and bought the game after she heard how it helped other's be not depressed. I (24) will say her mood and addiction issues did improve afterwards, but our relationship began to suffer terribly. She spent all her free time obsessing over the game and more specifically the bachelor Shane. If she wasn't playing, she was writing self insert fanfiction, browsing the tags on tumblr or browsing the SDV reddit. At first, I honestly didn't care. She was happy, she stopped drinking for the most part, life was fine. It wasn't until it began to interfere with our relationship that I cared. She had 400 hours poured into the game in less than 3 months, she didn't want to do anything but play her game. I even tried playing with her, but she STILL married Shane, shortly after she asked me to not play with her because I was messing up her "flow". Now, I get feeling strongly towards a character, even relating to their storyline but she wasn't even playing the actual game. She farmed only things that would impress Shane. The only season she played was Spring Year One, then the rest was grinding for hot peppers, the things to make cheese, to make pepper poppers etc etc. She set her phone wallpaper to his 10 heart event, specifically the kiss, when it was previously us. She gained an appreciation for football, despite hating sports prior, even picked a team and bought a jersey. When I asked her why, she said she wanted to get into the headspace of a sport husband's wife. Okay. She wouldn't engage in intimacy with me, and got annoyed when I asked her to do something other than play her game. She did maintain employment and did her share in chores but outside of that, her switch was in her face. Instead of sleeping in bed with me, she would stay up until god knows when playing and then crash on the couch. It went on like this for months. At least once a week, she would buy a frozen pizza and a beer and play Stardew while wearing her Seattle Seahawks jersey. Once they got married I thought it'd relax a bit, but no, it got so much worse. She talked about him like he was a real person, about their kids like they were real kids. I started to feel she had replaced one addiction with another, but she said I was being unsupportive of her coping mechanism. I guess I did get jealous watching her giggle and blush over the SINGLE time you can talk to him once a day, when I was getting little more than a "hey", which feels dumb to admit but UGHHH. I just couldn't take it anymore and I asked her if she would lay off the Shane talk and just the game in general because I couldn't do this. I couldn't compete anymore, it had been months and we had just been living like roommates, so I told her it was me or him. She told me I was being ridiculous and broke up with me because I was "too jealous of her fictional husband". FULL 32 TEAM ALBUM Here is what I have updated: All wallpapers have been converted to 1920 x 1080. The old sizes have been placed in a single album in my minus page and are still available for download. Cowboys – cleaned up the “stress” and jazzed up the text (see future updates for Cowboy plans). Original plain text versions are still available. Dolphins – incorporated new logo with completely new design. Old logo and design converted to 1920 x 1080. Jaguars – incorporated new logo. Old logo and design converted to 1920 x 1080. Panthers – incorporated new logo. Old logo and design converted to 1920 x 1080. Redskins – multiple versions with new “words” but design remains the same. Seahawks – new design with new “words”. I added some green blur to background and wasn’t sure if everyone would like it so included versions without it. One of the original designs was converted to 1920 x 1080. Vikings – cleaned up design and “words” placement. Converted foreground stress to a dark purple rather than yellow. Future updates to come: Bengals – make wallpaper with “B” logo Broncos - add words "higher, harder, stronger" Bucs - add words "fire the cannon" Cowboys – add boot with spur, revolver or space ship/saturn 5 rocket in backdrop as silhouette image. Add words "defend the star", "go for launch" or something having to do with launch. Lions - add "Heart of the Lion" (decided not to do) Patriots – add musket or revolutionary war solider in backdrop as silhouette image Texans – plain blue background as alternative to current blue/white/red Steelers – add rivets to the grey stripes Thanks to everyone for contributing to the words and for upvoting the original post. The "house words" from the families in Game of Thrones always felt similar to the style or history of a sports team. So I tried to describe the 49ers and seahawks fan base and style of play with a short phrase. Can't remember the last time I was this excited for a Seahawks game...
