I bought a new Secretlab chair. It arrived with visible water damage and I have spent the last week trying to get them to replace it. The chair clearly got wet and reeks of mildew. I think they are going to replace it now (maybe, still waiting), but I'm really disappointed in their customer service.

Hey everyone, just wanted warn anyone thinking about buying from Secretlab right now. Their logistics and customer support are a complete dumpster fire. I made a brand new Reddit account just to post this because I am honestly afraid of the company retaliating against me. A few weeks ago, I ordered a Magnus Pro XL desk. It never showed up because the FedEx driver completely mangled the delivery, and Secretlab's support team has been an endless loop of automated-sounding scripts and zero actual action. This is on top of a previous order of accessories that was also misdelivered, where I couldn't even file a police report because the local police told me a missing package technically wasn't a crime. Now, because they shipped the accessories separately, I am stuck sitting here with a mountain of accessories for a desk I don't even have. To give you an idea of how broken their shipping process is, look at the absolute mess on the tracking log for the desk. The desk was marked as "Delivered" and a signature was logged. I eventually got a hold of a FedEx representative who looked into the back-end data and revealed that, based on the GPS coordinates of the handheld scanner, the driver actually scanned and signed for my package while sitting in the parking lot of the FedEx station. That is literal, blatant carrier fraud. Only three hours after that fake delivery, a delivery exception was suddenly logged stating "Refused by recipient - Order canceled." By Friday morning, the package was put back on a vehicle for delivery, but it was quickly flagged as "Returning package to shipper" with a simultaneous "Address corrected" update. By Friday evening, the package arrived back at a local FedEx location, completely locked into a "return to sender" loop back to Secretlab's warehouse. I even tried contacting FedEx directly to dispute the "refused" status and pull the package before it left the local facility, but it was already too late. Secretlabs all the while provided absolute zero help, You’d think a company would care about the driver faking a signature in a parking lot, right? Nope. Here is how ridiculous Secretlab's customer service has been since then. For weeks, they just kept sending me generic emails stating they are waiting on an update from their team while doing absolutely nothing to help. They refused to just pull a brand-new desk off the shelf and ship it to me. Instead, they insisted I had to wait for the original, completely mishandled box to get all the way back to their warehouse so they could inspect it and reship it to me. I'm paying full price for a premium product, not an open-box gamble. To make it even worse, when they finally agreed to a reshipment, they told me they can only do it with no signature required. So after a FedEx driver already faked a delivery in a parking lot, Secretlab's brilliant solution is to just force me to use FedEx again...but don't worry. They are going to refund me the $20 shipping fee. Honestly, save yourself the headache. The desks might look great, but if anything goes wrong during transit or otherwise, Secretlab will completely abandon you to protect their own internal metrics. I’m planning to order it online and try to get it discounted with Checkmate, but before I do I just want to know if it’s even worth it. Finally settled on upgrading my desk set up and shelling out $1600 on a new desk. Which I can’t believe I spent the money on, but now I got an update on the invoice that I’ll receive some of the accessories and desktop but not the legs! The legs are scheduled to ship 7 weeks later!! So I’ll have to make do with boxes in my place without a work top to work on!! I do realize when purchasing it said the entire desk was delayed (which I’m okay with). It didn’t specify it’s just the legs. So I’m just astonished that a premium company like Secretlabs manufacture on different timelines, especially on something fundamental like desktop and legs. I get it first world problems but I need my desk! And I don’t want to be spending anymore money than I already have. For a company charging an arm and a leg for a desk! I would have been okay if it was 1-2 weeks on back order or maybe just the accessories I can live without. BUT to manufacture the desk WITHOUT the legs is mind boggling to me! The title says it all. I have a Titan that just turned seven. I am a casual office user. I work a normal in-person 9-5, and only use the chair on weekends and occasional weeknights. The seat has been noticeably bad for a few years; I was just too lazy to do something about it until it I found myself using my son's $40 desk chair because it felt better. I really wanted another Titan, but I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much if it was just going to wear out that quickly again. I decided to reach out to support to see if they could do anything. At first, I was talking to a real person, and they made it seem like they were going to be able to help me out. They had me take pictures, provide the invoice, get the serial number, and took my contact info. Then they said their "manager" would be in touch via email, and it all fell apart. The full email messages are below. I'd have rather them just say it was out of warrantee and there was nothing they could do they respond with this slop. The statement saying they "would like to provide a gesture of goodwill in recognition of your experience and your past support of Secretlab" on the second message and then literally responding with the exact same thing as the previous email is what got me the most. $70 off non-sale prices. Every chair is already on sale for at least $50 dollars right now. Anyways, I'm just disappointed, and now need to go find a new chair. I have 2 Magnus Pro XL desks that I'm incredibly satisfied with, so I thought I'd also give the chair a shot. At about 6 feet tall and relatively thin, I debated going normal size or XL, and after some research I decided to go for the XL. Unfortunately I hugely regret it - It is so clealy made for wider people. The armrests are the biggest problem. I don't understand why SecretLab didn't let them adjust another few inches inwards. They are WAY too far apart at full adjustment inwards. If I just want to lean back and use my phone with my elbows on the armrests, I have to turn them 45 degrees so the part of the armrests for the elbow are closer than the part for the wrists. Even then, I'm super uncomfortably pushing my elbows out wide, rather than comfortably by my side. For optimal comfort, I also need to be able to pull the armrests more toward the back of the chair, but of course that adjustment also stops too soon for me. It's also too deep front to back. I can't tuck my chair in close enough to my desk to be able to sit ergonomically with my back fully supported and my elbows at 90 degrees. People weren't kidding when they say it's hard... Sitting for long periods of time is quite uncomfortable because of that. I bought the optional lumbar support pillow thinking that might help, but it's even more uncomfortable. I think lumbar pillows are just not for me in general, not just a SecretLab thing. At least it was packaged well, easy to put together, and looks cool. The headrest is quite nice. That's about where the positives stop. My main desk chair is a Steelcase Gesture - I didn't expect the SecretLab to be super comparable at a bit less than half price, but it still has a hefty price tag so I didn't expect this much of a massive comfort difference. Alrighty, so I did a lot of research before buying my desk, so I figured I’d give a detailed view into my experience to help others interested in Secretlab desks. I’ve had the Magnus Pro XL White since the beginning of November and after a few months of use, I feel like I have landed on my final thoughts. My love-hate relationship: As countless posts have mentioned, Secretlab’s customer service is pretty slow and that can put a sour tone into the relationship. In general, they are quick to respond when you want to give them money, but audaciously slow when you need something from them. One specific qualm I had with their customer service is that they have no clue what’s going on outside of their specific sphere of influence. I initially purchased the desk at the end of Oct. 2025. Before I purchased, I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing some solid Black Friday sales, so I asked their customer service (both sales and marketing point) if they were planning on any sales on this specific desk. They replied, “Please note that there are no upcoming promotions or guarantees for price reductions” and “we recommend proceeding with a purchase”. Because they confidently stated that they weren’t planning on any promotions, I moved forward with my purchase. (Oh and the Secretlab subreddit peeps also told me that it was absurd to think that Secretlab would put their premium desk on sale, which was decidedly incorrect.) Not a full week later, the exact desk goes on Black Friday sale for $250 less than I had paid. I don’t blame any of the subreddit peeps for not knowing this would be on sale, because they don’t work and represent Secretlab. But customer service should be aware of sales happening in the next calendar week. This seemed particularly agregious because they didn’t say that they might have a sale but they didn’t know – they confidently told me that there wouldn’t be a sale and to proceed with my purchase. I was irate. I’m still a bit mad typing this out now, tbh. So, I attempted to communicate with them to see if they would kindly understand that their customer service agent led me to purchase under false pretenses. Then, a pattern of slow response and no response. They responded saying they’ll get back to me soon about a partial refund (I asked for $250 back) but it kept on getting delayed. So, I raised some hell after two weeks of no real response. Which is what you need to do for real action. I think a lot of their tactics are fundamentally a game of chicken. They know it’s expensive to ship the desk back, let alone boxing it up and getting it shipped. Fortunately for me, I live about 20 minutes away from one of their two U.S. warehouses, which would have been the return address. So, I laid out their situation, “Black Friday is a few days away, so we have two options. Either A. You give me a refund, or B. I’m well within my return window and I will personally drive the desk back to your warehouse, in which case you will have an open boxed desk you now need to sell and I’ll just re-purchase at the current discounted price. Boxing for 30 minutes and driving another 40 in total is well worth $250.” And honestly, it’s not about the money, it’s about being accountable to your customers when your rep lies to them. (Again, maybe she didn’t know, but that’s still Secretlab’s responsibility to have a basic level of communication with their employees.) I think they did the math and realized they had much more to lose than I did. So they replied quickly and ended up reimbursing me $150, which I was happy with. But it took like 6 weeks to receive the money. Ok, that’s the hate. The rest is love. The desk is a dream. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted from a desk and more. The Magnus Pro XL is beautiful, easy to keep tidy, has fantastic cable management, is functionally sturdy, and honestly makes work more enjoyable (ambiance). As a 6’3” man, the desk feels very appropriate as a professional workspace (I like not being able to reach everything from one sitting position, it feels like I have a little more space than I need). For a white desk, it’s super easy to keep clean with basic forethought (coasters for drinks etc.) As I got set up, I found more and more ways to map cables under my desk with magnets to hide them from sight. Sellers on Etsy provide fantastic add-ons, so my desk space is tidy and free even though I’m a filthy maximalist when it comes to accessory devices. I can’t imagine being happier with an alternative. 10/10 would recommend to a friend. 2/10 5/10 customer experience since they gave me a partial refund. Even with the bs customer support issues, the Magnus Pro XL is well worth the purchase. As a side note, they absolutely run sales and promotions, I see them all the time now that I'm paying attention. So if anyone is wondering about Black Friday sales or Holiday sales, I can confidently say that they do, in fact, run them. (Around 10%-15% off, which is basically worth another premium accessory.) Also, if anyone is interested in my setup specs outside the desk itself, I’d love to share those as well. Seeing so many posts about how Secretlab chairs are "poor quality" and "aren't comfortable" so I kinda wanted to throw my two cents into the ring. If your the kind of person who can only sit for more than an hour in THE MOST cushiest, soft, plush and luxuriously conforming chair...then don't buy secretlab. If your the kind of person who hunches when they walks, sits, eats and shits...then don't buy secretlab. IF YOUR THE KIND OF PERSON who is poor and can't afford to buy a chair that they've never tried out in person and MIGHT not like...don't buy secretlab. But if your posture isn't that of the fucking hunchback of Notre Dame and you don't need to have the clouds of Olympus under your ass cheeks AND you can afford to blow some money on a chair that you just might not like...then buy Secretlab. This is my first ever Reddit post, I usually just read. But this experience with Secretlab was bad enough that I felt others needed to know. I bought the Secretlab Magnus Pro for £862 in June 2025, expecting premium quality. What I received was an older production version, the one with leg cutouts that cause wobble. Secretlab has quietly revised this in newer batches with solid, reinforced legs. In their words, the product “now ships with the updated Integrated Power Supply Column (IPSC)”, corporate speak for “we fixed the structure but didn’t tell you.” There was no disclosure about version differences during purchase. It’s sold like a single, current product. But after opening the box, I noticed the old design and started asking questions. Secretlab support denied everything at first. Here’s what happened: They claimed there’s no difference in stability or structure. I sent this side-by-side video, the old version visibly wobbles on a hard floor with no load: https://youtu.be/vsV6zU7uZ70?t=52 They changed the story: “Only the white version has the updated legs.” I sent this second video, clearly showing a black desk with the updated leg design: https://youtu.be/0XD8MpJ-3PA?t=100 They finally admitted the newer black version exists, but only ships to the US and CA. I’m in the UK. Earlier on, they told me I could return the desk at my own expense and reorder the white one, which I didn’t want. Even then, I said I’d consider it. They refused. Only after escalating multiple times, providing video evidence, and citing UK consumer protection law did they agree to cover return shipping. But by that point, the return policy included: “Should our inspection indicate that the refund amount needs to be adjusted, we will reach out…” At that stage, I’d lost all confidence in the process. They told me to “disassemble the chair and pack the parts back into the original packaging, in preparation for the return” because who among us hasn’t mistaken a desk for a chair? I didn’t trust them not to find an excuse to short my refund. So I kept the desk — not because I was satisfied, but because I didn’t want to risk losing more money fixing a situation they created. I asked for a basic goodwill gesture, a small recognition of the time, effort, and misdirection I had to fight through. They declined, saying the desk “functions as intended.” Which brings us full circle: Back to point #1, where they pretended there was no difference at all. Even after admitting there is a newer, better version shipping to other customers, they still think it’s fine to charge full price for outdated stock and offer nothing when challenged. TL;DR for UK buyers: Secretlab is still shipping outdated Magnus Pro stock There is no disclosure of the design differences Support will deny, deflect, contradict itself, and only act under pressure Even when you prove you're right, they’ll refuse to make it right I kept the desk purely to avoid further loss. The post from yesterday seemed very disingenuous, so i thought I'd share my 5+ year old secretlabs chair (bought at the end of 2019). Mint condition. No issues with it what so ever. No squeaking. No tearing. No falling apart. Arm rests are still holding together nicely. I dont know what you need to be doing to your chair to destroy it. Just wanted to share what my Secretlab Dark Knight Edition looks like after five years of regular use. Seat cushion is torn, exposing foam. Stitching is fraying in multiple spots. Armrest cover is peeling like it's been chewed up. It’s out of warranty, and while the chair served me well in terms of comfort, the condition now feels like a letdown considering the premium price.
