Best Primer and foundation for mature skin
I have seen all these viral adds for il makiage skin primer, the color changing foundation sticks, and others. I am 34, have wrinkles and minimal discoloration. I use an under eye tightening serum under my foundation that helps. I am looking for ANY recommendations and your experiences with it. I have olive/ yellow undertones if that makes a difference. some days I want light coverage, and some days medium. the foundation stick was tempting because it seems so simple & easy. right now I am using it cc cream and chanel mixed together to get the right shade. I like it for the most part, doesnt stay fresh very long. I use Maybelline poreless jelly primer underneath, no setting spray. I appreciate any information that is shared here! submitted by /u/MedicineMom-1 to r/makeuptips [link] [comments]

37F Looking for routine/foundation advice for maturing skin because it just ain’t working out for me right now.
Hi everyone—would really appreciate some advice from others with dry, maturing skin. I’m lucky that I actually have pretty great skin for my age (people usually think I’m younger), but I am dealing with dryness and fine lines like anyone else in their late 30s. Lately, my makeup just isn’t sitting right anymore. It looks good initially, but after a few hours I get patchiness, texture, and settling into fine lines. Skin type / concerns: - Dry + dehydrated - Fine lines becoming more noticeable - Redness in cheeks (prefer medium or buildable coverage, not full coverage) - Fair, cool-to-neutral undertone Foundations I’ve tried: - Purito Cica Clearing BB Cream (used to love, but shade range + formula change issues) - Dior Forever Skin Glow (0CR) - Chanel Les Beiges (B00) - Estée Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue (1N0 Porcelain) - NARS Light Reflecting Foundation (Yulong) - Milk Makeup Skin Tint (1) I’m currently using the Milk Makeup Skin Tint—it’s the least patchy on me, but after a few hours it starts to look kind of “powdery.” All of these look decent at first but don’t wear well throughout the day. Primer: - Milk Makeup Hydro Grip (no noticeable difference vs no primer) Application: - Pat in with fingers first, then blend with a sponge Powder + setting: - Laura Mercier setting powder (beautiful, but takes away too much glow for me) - TIRTIR Mask Fit 24hr Fixer - I’ve also tried spraying setting spray between layers Skin prep: - Micellar water cleanse (sometimes skip AM cleanse if no-makeup day) - HA peptide serum - Purito Oat-In Gel Cream - Sunscreen (usually water-based) - Wait at least 5+ minutes before makeup Actives (PM): - Sunday Riley Good Genes - Tretinoin 0.025% (alternate nights) I tend to get the most dryness on the apples of my cheeks and between my eyebrows, so at night I’ve started dabbing a little cold-pressed rosehip oil in those areas as a final step. --- What I’m trying to figure out: - What skin prep actually helps makeup sit better on dry/maturing skin? - Are there changes I should make to my skincare (hydration vs exfoliation balance, etc.)? - Foundations/skin tints that don’t cling to dryness or settle into lines - Whether primer is even necessary - If powder is worth using at all (and how to keep a glowy finish if I do) - Application techniques that help with texture I feel like I’ve tried a lot of “hydrating/glowy” products, but I’m still not getting that smooth, skin-like finish. I also tend to get pilling if I mix water-based and silicone-based products—even when I wait between layers—but I’m open to any suggestions. If you’ve gone through this and found something that works, I’d really love to hear what helped you. Thank you so much 💛 submitted by /u/Waywardgarden to r/30PlusSkinCare [link] [comments]

37f Looking for routine/foundation advice for maturing skin because it just ain't working out for me right now.
Hi! I’m looking for help troubleshooting my base routine + foundation recommendations for dry, maturing skin. I'm lucky that i actually have pretty great skin for my age. Everyone thinks I'm younger than i am, but i do have dry, aging skin with fine lines like anyone else my age. My makeup looks good initially, but I keep getting patchiness, texture, and settling into fine lines as the day goes on. Skin type / concerns: - Dry + dehydrated - Fine lines becoming more noticeable - Redness in cheeks (prefer medium or buildable coverage to help with this but NOT full coverage) - Fair, cool-to-neutral undertone Foundations I’ve tried: - Purito Cica Clearing BB Cream (used to love, but shade range + formula change issues) - Dior Forever Skin Glow (0CR) - Chanel Les Beiges (B00) - Estée Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue (1N0 porcelain) - NARS Light Reflecting Foundation (Yulong) - Milk Makeup Skin Tint (1) I'm currently using milk makeup skin tint. It is the least patchy on me, but after a few hours begins to look "powdery". All of these look decent at first but don’t wear well on me. Primer: - Milk Makeup Hydro Grip (no noticeable difference vs no primer) Application: - Pat in with fingers first, then blend with a sponge Powder + setting: - Laura Mercier setting powder (a lovely powder but makes me lose too much glow) - TIRTIR Mask Fit 24hr Fixer - Have tried spraying setting spray between layers Skin prep: - Micellar water cleanse (sometimes skip AM cleanse if no-makeup day) - HA peptide serum - Purito Oat-In Gel Cream - Sunscreen (usually water-based) - Wait at least 5+ min before makeup Actives (PM): - Sunday Riley Good Genes - Tretinoin 0.025% (alternate nights) I tend to get the most dryness on the Appels of my cheeks and in between my eyebrows so in the evening for extra moisture I've started dabbing on cold pressed Rose hop oil in these spots as a final step. --- What I’m trying to figure out: - Best prep for dry/maturing skin before makeup - Foundations/skin tints that don’t cling to dryness or settle - Whether primer is even necessary here - If powder is worth using at all (and how to keep a glowy finish if I do) - Application techniques that help with texture I feel like I’ve tried a lot of “hydrating/glowy” products, but I’m still not getting that smooth, skin-like finish. Would love any product recs or technique advice! I tend to get issues with pilling when i mix water based with silicone based even with waiting in between but again open to ANY suggestions. Best tinted creams for mature oily skin
Hi everyone, I need a recommendation. So basically, for almost 10 years I've been using Gosh 123 foundation, which has truly perfect shade for me. Unfortunately, as time goes by, it doesn't look as good as it used to, mainly because it's too matte. Trends have changed, my skin has changed...I need something lighter, medium coverage and non- comedogenic. I've found some recommendations for L'Oréal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum (yep I copied this long ass name, because no way I could remember it) and information online says it should be non-comedogenic; yet sources in my native language say it gets greasy and is terrible for someone with oily skin. Have any of you tried it? Any other mid-price recommendations available in Europe? submitted by /u/Kikimara99 to r/30PlusSkinCare [link] [comments]

Sheer to Light "My Skin, But Better" Skin Tints for Mature Skin?
I'm being a bit of a Goldilocks, but here's what I'm on the hunt for... ...a skin-tint product that... Has Sheer to light coverage Still lets some of your natural skin color/character come through Gives that natural, skin-like, "my skin, but better" appearance Is mature-skin friendly (nothing matte, chalky, drying) Feels like a skincare/makeup hybrid Has a natural, satiny glow -- a little dewiness/glow is fine -- but nothing shiny Layers beautifully atop moisturizer and a "main" SPF like Beauty of Joseon Has a good variety of shades (I'm a medium tan who probably leans to neutral or warm undertones) Can have SPF (but this is not a deal breaker) I do feel like cosmetics brands these days are using some terms interchangeably and inconsistently. I used "skin tint" in a very broad way to cover this whole category. I don't really care if it's called a skin tint, a tinted moisturizer, a tinted spf, a sheer foundation, a lightweight BB balm or CC cream, a serum foundation, complexion perfector, a skin veil / veil foundation etc. ... as long as it fulfills the brief, above. (Did I miss any names?) In my limited experience, I've found two products I like so far with a couple of caveats: Dr. Jart Premium BB+ pretty much fulfills all of the brief, except, even a small amount quickly looks like medium coverage. As such, I think it starts to get too "foundation perfect" for my taste and nearly totally masks any of my natural color beneath. It's definitely going to be my go-to when I want more coverage. It Cosmetics CC+ Nude Glow also fulfills this brief nicely, but, while not to the extent of Dr. Jart's, it, too, can go from light coverage to full-on medium coverage with just the smallest amount of product. If anyone has personal experience with any of these products, please let me know, but don't limit yourself to this list: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Kosas BB Burst Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted Moisturizer Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint Hourglass Veil Skin Tint Saie Slip Tint SPF 35 Summer Fridays Sheer Skin Tint Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted Moisturizer Typology Tinted Serum Rose Inc Skin Enhance Luminous Tinted Serum Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint Tower 28 SunnyDays SPF 30 Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 Chanel Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint Armani Golden Hour 24HR Lightweight Skin Tint submitted by /u/HorseTearz to r/MakeupAddiction [link] [comments]

Mature-Skin 'ers - what are your Holy Grail Makeup Products at Sephora?
If you don't swallow your weight in supplements each night and if you weren't in double-digits when Madonna acquired that temporary English accent, this thread is not for you. I love you, Zoomers & Alphas, but this is for those of us squarely in the "mature skin" category. Is your skin mature, with some dryness, texture, fine lines? If so, envision this horrifying scenario, you're being shipped off to a desert island where you can only pack one of each key makeup item from Sephora in your away bag, which ones are you bringing with you? Your absolute must-have... Moisturizer you use before your makeup Your pre-makeup primer Foundation for medium to full coverage Your skin tint, tined serum, tinted spf, BB or CC for sheer-to-light coverage Your bronzer Your blush Your under eye concealer or color corrector Your face concealer Your setting/fixing powder or spray Bonus: Add any other makeup product you couldn't live without! You don't have to list all of these -- we don't all use this many makeup products. But only list one product for each category -- no matter how many you love! We've got mature skin, we can make tough, but mature decisions! And, naturally, ensure the product is available through Sephora (in your country.) Add any context you think is helpful -- ex: like if you're more of a "high glam" gal/guy or a "natural, minimal, my-skin-but-better" gal/guy. I'm very new to makeup, so I don't have responses to all of these, but I will list the ones I'm liking so far in my comment. submitted by /u/HorseTearz to r/Sephora [link] [comments]

Ordinary Serum Foundation for Mature Skin?
Hi, I've been looking for a new foundation, my old one just doesn't work for me anymore. I kind of fell into trying Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Serum and I do like it. It's still a bit expensive and I've been wondering about the Ordinary Serum Foundation for mature skin? It's got such a great price, although I prefer to try to color match so that's a concern. Does anyone use it and like it? It would be wonderful if it was enough coverage for older skin, I don't want anything heavy my skin is pretty good but definitely need a pick me up! Recs for very lightweight serum style foundation and - mature skin
Hiya! I love my makeup, but goddamn age (and the meno) means I can’t really wear the same types of foundation I used to. What I got: 1. mature skin that is a tad dry 2. Wrinkles around the eye and mouth 3. Hyperpigmentation around the mouth and dark under eye circles 4. South Asian, medium skin tone, neutral leaning to warm undertone What I do: 1. Drink a shite ton of water 2. Stay out of sun and use sunscreen 3. Wash my face, serum, under eye cream and lotion. I use whatever is around - like samples - I know not great - but I gotta use up these samples before I hit 95 damnit! and I have a lot of them! What happens when I use my old makeup: 1. I use Pat McGrath foundation - but it has started to look too heavy - maybe it is how I am applying it? I use my fingers and then buff out with a brush. I use a tiny amount as well. I don’t know if it is the new formulation - the old one was watery and worked perfectly - but this new one just sort of sits on my skin like a kabuki mask (nothing against those masks they are dope). 2. I use nyx colour corrector (orange) and the matching shade of Pat McGrath concealer for the undereye and mouth. It just sits in the old wrinkles. I have tried to dab away the excess but it comes back. Tried without colour corrector and it does the same thing. I have tried different types of concealers (rose in, kiko, some hideously expensive shite from the dermatologist) and it does the same. Again I use a very small amount - not trying to hide the undereye circles just dampen them a bit. what I have tried: 1. Mario balm - which is nice for daytime, but doesn’t do what I want for special evenings out. 2. Rose inc serum foundation - love this, but it makes me look so so orange - no matter which colours I have tried. 3. Chanel serum foundation - wtf man- one colour is way too light and the other way too dark great. What I am looking for: 1. Lightweight/serum style foundation just to even out the skin tone. I am looking for something super lightweight/serum style to use as a base to even out the skin. Would also love any recommendations on concealer/colour correctors etc. 2. Leads on any foundations/concealers that don’t make us brown girls fecking orange. 3. I am in Europe so if only sold in the states sadly have no access. thanks a mill for any advice! Happy to share pics of the products and shades I have as well. submitted by /u/Inner-Damage-9027 to r/makeuptips [link] [comments]

Sensitive Skin Care and Makeup Essentials for Mature Skin
Caring for sensitive skin is both an art and a science. When you add the nuances of mature skin into the mix, it calls for even more attention to detail. The good news is that with the right products and techniques, you can achieve radiant, healthy-looking skin while keeping irritations at bay. Korean skincare, in particular, has been a game-changer for many people with sensitive skin due to its focus on nurturing, gentle formulas. This guide will walk you through tailored skincare routines, makeup tips, and detailed recommendations for foundations and concealers, especially for those grappling with dark circles, under-eye bags, or redness. Why Sensitive Skin Needs Extra Love Sensitive skin demands more caution than other types because it’s easily triggered by external and internal factors. Common symptoms include redness, tingling, dry patches, and inflammation. For mature skin, this becomes more pronounced due to a slowing down of cell renewal and collagen production. Skincare Challenges for Sensitive, Mature Skin Thinner Skin Barrier: Aging can weaken the skin’s natural defenses, making it prone to redness and irritation. Fine Lines and Texture: Sensitive skin often reacts poorly to harsh anti-aging products, leaving fewer options for addressing these issues. Dark Circles and Puffiness: Under-eye skin becomes more delicate with time, showing signs of fatigue and dehydration faster. Korean skincare excels in delivering hydration, soothing inflammation, and boosting the skin barrier, making it ideal for this combination of needs. A Thoughtful Skincare Routine for Sensitive, Mature Skin Here’s a foolproof Korean skincare-inspired routine designed to protect and revitalize your skin while keeping it calm and nourished. Morning Routine Gentle Cleanse: Use a non-stripping cleanser to start your day. Cleansers with a low pH are particularly beneficial. Recommendations: Etude House SoonJung pH 6.5 Whip Cleanser – Ultra-gentle foaming formula, perfect for sensitive types. Isntree Green Tea Fresh Cleanser – Contains calming green tea extracts to soothe redness. Hydrating Toner: Look for a toner that hydrates without clogging or irritating your skin. Suggestions: COSRX Hydrium Watery Toner – Infused with hydrating panthenol and allantoin. Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner – Luxuriously hydrating and deeply calming. Targeted Serum: Brighten and hydrate with a serum that’s kind to sensitive skin. Options: Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum (Propolis + Niacinamide) – Delivers soothing and brightening properties. Purito Unscented Centella Serum – Repairs the skin barrier with gentle ingredients. Moisturizer: Choose a cream with ceramides to restore and protect the skin barrier. Top Picks: Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream – Renowned for its intense moisturizing properties. Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Cream – Lightweight yet hydrating. Sun Protection: Finish with a high SPF sunscreen. Try These: Axis-Y Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen – Non-irritating mineral sunscreen. Missha All Around Safe Block Soft Finish Sun Milk – Great for mature skin needing a matte finish. Evening Routine Double Cleanse: Remove makeup and sunscreen with an oil cleanser, followed by a gentle gel or cream cleanser. Cleansing Oil Recommendation: Heimish All Clean Balm – Melts away impurities effortlessly. Hydration Layers: Use a toner and essence to layer hydration. Recommendation: Laneige Cream Skin Refiner – Combines the benefits of a toner and moisturizer for simple hydration. Night Cream: Opt for a richer cream to support skin repair overnight. Nature Republic Aloe Vera Gel (80%) – Calms and hydrates inflamed or tired skin while being lightweight. Makeup for Sensitive, Mature Skin Foundation and concealers often carry a bad reputation for clogging pores or irritating delicate skin. But when chosen carefully, they can enhance your natural glow without causing irritation. Prepping the Under-Eye The under-eye area is sensitive and prone to dryness. Prepping this area well ensures smooth concealer application. Laneige Eye Sleeping Mask: Offers hydration overnight, making mornings refreshed and puff-free. Klairs Fundamental Eye Awakening Gel: Caffeine-based formula wakes up tired eyes. Light-Weight Foundation Alternatives When your skin is sensitive, less is more. BB creams and cushion foundations are excellent for light coverage with added skincare benefits. Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream: Provides buildable coverage with a nourishing, soothing formula. Laneige Neo Cushion Glow: Offers hydration and a dewy finish, enhancing mature skin’s radiance. Concealing Perfection For dark circles or redness, creamy yet lightweight concealers work best. Top Recommendations The Saem Cover Perfection Tip Concealer: Affordable, effective, and gentle. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Corrector: Hydrating and specifically designed for mature skin. Application Tips for Best Results Use a Damp Sponge: This avoids pulling on the skin. Hydrate First: Always prep your eyes with a light eye cream to avoid creasing. Set Sparingly: Use loose powder only around the T-zone to prevent makeup from caking. Product Comparison Table Product Name Key Ingredients Benefits Texture Sensitive Skin-Friendly? Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream Hyaluronic acid, niacinamide Hydrates while providing medium coverage Lightweight cream Yes Laneige Eye Sleeping Mask Caffeine, beta-glucan Refreshes tired, puffy eyes overnight Lightweight gel Yes Purito Centella Green Buffet Serum Centella asiatica Repairs irritation and calms the skin Lightweight serum Yes Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream Ceramides, hyaluronic acid Deep moisture and skin repair Rich cream Yes FAQ Section 1. What’s the best way to layer skincare for sensitive skin? Start with the lightest products, like toners and essences, and work up to thicker creams or oils. 2. How do I keep foundation from looking cakey? Make sure your skin is well-hydrated before application and use a blender sponge for even distribution. 3. Are fragrance-free products always better? Yes, fragrance can often irritate sensitive skin. Opt for unscented products wherever possible. Please Suggest A Powder Foundation That Works for Mature Skin
Currently I'm using Lancome Teint Idole Ultrawear and the matching concealer. It's great, love the look, no problems with it but there are days when I just want a quick way to apply foundation without as much fuss. I don't do full face makeup daily, sometimes not even weekly but do like to blur out imperfections and even out my skin. Years ago I remember there were creme based foundations in compacts and I loved the one by Estee Lauder but alas, it's long out of production and I've come to find creme foundations have fallen out of favor. So I'm researching powder instead but being older need one with some added moisturizing benefits, if that even exists? I have a good routine of cleansing/serum/moisturize so my face will be in good condition to accept the powder - just want to be sure it doesn't start caking up on me later in the day. And if I use this type of foundation is a primer still needed? I'm fair skinned with a neutral/cool tone and for the most part my skin is in good condition other than the usual dark circles from aging which I deal with. Price isn't a concern but wearability is. Any ideas? submitted by /u/EitherCoyote660 to r/MakeupAddiction [link] [comments]

Glowy Dewy Finish for Mature Skin? Contemplating Chanel
I am very happy with the products I'm currently using for skin care (a combination of mostly Lancome and Shiseido) and my face makeup in general, however, I'd like to achieve a radiant effect for my face other than the matte look I'm currently accustomed to. Kind of like just after I apply serum and moisturizer. I like that flushed, fresh look. I'm considering the Chanel Les Beiges Sheer Healthy Glow Highlighting Fluid. I like that it can be mixed into the foundation or applied as a highlight afterwards. Both Pearly Glow and Sun Kissed look like they will work well for the healthy glow I hope to find. I'm light skinned, fairly neutral with a peach undertone. Skin condition is normal and I don't normally breakout but my skin does lean to being slightly sensitive. Are there any other products you can recommend? I purchased 2 to try out yesterday; Fenty Beauty Demi Glow Light Diffusing Highlighter in TuTu Much (deeply on sale so figured I'd take a chance) and a mini of the Westman Atelier Lit Up Glow Highlighter stick in Nectar. Both had been recommended as good for more mature skin. I'm in no rush if there are better options than the Chanel. I just started using makeup again after many years of going bare faced (thanks pandemic and work from home all this time) but I have a wedding to attend at the end of this month so I'm doing a lot of makeup testing to see what looks and wears best. It's costing a small fortune but lots of fun! Thanks! submitted by /u/EitherCoyote660 to r/MakeupAddiction [link] [comments]

Primer (& concealer) for mature textured skin
I’m 51F dealing with hormonal acne on my chin (& sometimes on/in/below my nose 🤦♀️) and really struggling to find a primer and/or concealer that will cover without “caking” in the texture of the acne {{help!!!}} I recently visited Sephora and came home with the Caliray So Blown primer, Kosas Revealer concealer & Ilia True Skin Serum foundation (all of which I’m in the process of returning) This combination leaves “patches” of makeup over the textured blemishes (to me that’s just as bad as not covering them 🤷♀️) As you can see, my budget is extremely flexible, so if you have a luxe holy grail product I’m willing to give it a shot My skin care routine consists of: AM CeraVe foaming facial cleanser (+ clean skin club towel) Farmacy Deep Sweep toner Tower 28 SOS spray Caudalie Grape Water spray Tatcha Water Cream InnisFree Daily Defense spf PM Bioderma Micellar Cleansing Oil CeraVe foaming facial cleanser (+ clean skin club towel) Farmacy Deep Sweep toner Tower 28 SOS spray Caudalie Grape Water spray Tatcha Water Cream CeraVe Night Cream (if needed) Thanks in advance for any help!! 🤗 submitted by /u/Clarity_Coach to r/Makeup [link] [comments]

Opinions please on MAC "Studio Radiance Face and Body Radiant Sheer Foundation" for mature skin (55). I'm looking for sheer coverage that won't sink into fine lines. It's on sale right now on the MAC site and I'm tempted!
I've never used any MAC products before and I am wondering if this foundation is worth it. I'm currently using L'Oreal True Match Nude HA Tinted Serum foundation and even that tends to accentuate the fine lines on my upper lip that I've recently developed. I have very fair skin and I'm using the lightest shade (0.5-2) and I really have to use a light hand with it so it doesn't look too dark and feel too heavy for me. Oh, I am looking for sheer coverage btw! I use moisturizer and sunscreen serum before I apply my foundation. Basically, I am asking if anyone currently uses this MAC product with mature skin and has good luck with it! I apologize if this seems scattered...I'm doing about ten things at once! submitted by /u/millerhighlife to r/Makeup [link] [comments]

Finally found my perfect foundation and primer combo for my dry, mature skin
I will start by saying that I’m 49 years old, I deal with huge pores, and a lot of lines on my cheeks (if you saw my previous post earlier in the week, I had a picture of the aforementioned lines on my cheeks). I’ve pretty much always used the Smashbox photo finish primer, but I tried about 6 others. I’ve tried it Cosmetics full coverage cc cream, and I used the whole tube of that but it was actually quite drying and settled into lines but had amazing coverage. I’ve tried Makeup by Mario and it was beautiful in pictures but a hot mess up close and gone and separated by the end of the day, Anastasia Beverly Hills luminous foundation which was both drying and separated almost immediately though it was a perfect color match, and the Armani luminous silk also separated, almost immediately and had zero coverage. My winner was the it Cosmetics Full-Coverage Illumination cc cream. I prepped with Sukoyaka Suhada toner, Mary Kay, intense moisturizing cream, and skin1004 Madagascar Centella hyalu-cica water-fit sun serum spf 50+. I let everything dry down for a few minutes, and then today I put on the Smashbox primer and waited three minutes before putting on the cc cream with just my fingers. I’m in love! It’s got very pretty coverage, I can’t feel it at all, and it’s just a little bit dewy, but nowhere near sparkly like some reviews mention. submitted by /u/Whole-Wrangler-702 to r/30PlusSkinCare [link] [comments]

Silicone concealers for dry mature under eyes and water based cream blush/bronzer for dry skin - can I use them together?
I have eye bags and dark circles that are genetic. They have always been my biggest makeup challenge - since high school. Now that I’m in my mid 30s, dryness and wrinkles are now another challenge that accompany my dark eye bags and it really narrows down my product selection even more. As a whole - my skin type is DRY and my complexion is fair. I use pink tones for colour correcting. The really promising concealers I’ve researched are silicone based and all the cream based blushes, bronzers that look great for my dry skin are water based or oil. I know mixing silicone and water based is a big no no for foundation and primer/foundation, bronzer&blush. But I don’t use foundation and my ‘primer’ is focusing on moisturizing my skin (eye serum/cream, embroylisse etc). Will using a silicone concealer and water based cream blush/bronzer going to be a disaster? I wear my blush fairly high on my cheekbones, temples, and a little close to my eyes. Here are some of the products I’m thinking about potentially mixing together: The concealers I’m interested in that are silicone based: Lancôme teint idole ultra wear all over concealer Dior backstage Haus labs concealer Huda beauty #fauxfiltercolor under eye color corrector Smash box becca under eye brightening corrector Blush and cream bronzers that are water based: Patrick Ta crème and powder blush duo Nudestix blush Bobbi brown pot rouge (pretty sure this is oil based?) Mac - glow play blush Makeup by Mario soft sculpt skin enhancer Thank you for your help!!! Holy grail luxury foundation for mature, ultra-fair neutral skin
I'm way too paranoid to post a selfie but HOLY COW I finally found my holy grail foundation and had to share with other pale ladies, especially since I haven't heard much hype about this one yet... Dior Capture Totale Super Potent serum foundation, shade 0 neutral. Before I get into what makes this foundation so exceptional, some background: I'm mid-thirties with dry skin (thanks, tretinoin!), true neutral undertone, and have tried a LOT of the top luxury foundations out there (Armani Luminous Silk, NARS, Chanel, Chantecaille, Givenchy, Cle de Peau, to name a few.) For reference, best shade match I've found for my skin is MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW10. Anyway, here's why I'm obsessed with Dior Capture Totale serum foundation: The finish. Mother of god, THE FINISH! A lit from within, ethereal glow, yet somehow natural-looking on the skin and not cakey at all. I'm talking angel-skin, y'all. Doesn't settle into fine lines - excellent for mature skin Doesn't oxidize at all (tested through several 10-12 hour work days) Versatile medium-coverage; a few tiny dabs applied with a beauty blender sponge and the foundation melts into my skin but gives a lovely even coverage. I can also easily build it up for a more glam, camera-ready look. Consistency of the finish is slightly dewey and stays that way if you don't apply powder, which I like in drier winter months. For day-to-day wear, I dust a very small amount of Laura Mercier powder on my t-zone such sets the foundation perfectly It softens imperfections and dark spots, but you can still see my real skin texture - it just kind of blurs and evens everything out It feels more like a serum than a foundation, and acts like one too; it melts into the skin and blends out easily Layers very well with other products. I use vitamin C serum, moisturizer, and SPF (Elta MD UV Clear - another holy grail ;) and the Dior foundation absorbs nicely on top of my skincare - plus, the foundation is loaded with its own good skincare ingredients and SPF I just can't get over how good this foundation looks and feels on my skin. I scoured the internet for reviews & swatches before purchasing since it's so pricey ($85, but occasionally goes on sale at Nordstrom for 20% off) but there was very little info out there on this particular foundation. So happy I took the plunge, wanted to share in case there's someone with similar skin still on the quest for their holy grail foundation - I want to spread the word so it never gets discontinued haha. Anyone else try this yet? submitted by /u/snaxomophone to r/PaleMUA [link] [comments]

Looking for a cruelty-free dupe for Etude House’s Double Lasting Serum Skin Foundation
A while ago I got some samples of this product and my mom (with mature skin) absolutely loved this because it’s lightweight, doesn’t accentuate skin texture, fine lines etc. She really wants to find a very similar product that is cruelty-free. Any recommendations are appreciated! submitted by /u/EloiseTheElephante to r/AsianBeauty [link] [comments]
