Has Ellie not heard of setting spray

I bought a spray can of dielectric grease the other day. While setting up today to do a comparison of two different types of this substance, the little red nozzle straw shot off into outer space. I got out my PD36R and looked everywhere for it to no avail. I think it's hovering somewhere over Wisconsin right about now.

while on the way home i discovered that my ac blows real cold on low setting, as seen below (28-30 degrees), but will blow about 40 degrees on high. and judging by the ice that it formed, perhaps i’m still low on charge? i will hook the manifolds up to it and spray water to see. Attached Images

SKIN TYPE: combination-oily, seasonally dry so i'm a bit of a conservative when it comes to makeup, as much as possible i avoid gimmicky stuff. anyways, i always believe that primer & setting powder are the only things you need to keep your makeup last and for me setting spray is not essential. Do you have any local brands or cheap brands that has good setting spray po? i have oily skin and mabilis ako mag sweat, I'm looking for a setting spray na effective talaga sa akin HUHU. I moisturize, put sunscreen and put primer before mag make-up everytime and most of my products are water based. I'm looking for a spray na di ako agad mahuhulas. Learn from my humiliation, kids. Setting spray is *not* just for your face. I recently discovered (and love) the It Cosmetics Do It All concealer stick (in Tan Neutral 410) and realized it also works beautifully on covering a couple of hyperpigmentation spots on my lower leg. However, today, I also discovered that it is not transfer-proof — even hours after initial application. I was kneeling on this bench for kneeling one arm dumbbell rows and the concealer transferred to the bench. I know your next question — did I notice this *before* I then sat my hindquarters flat on the bench in my stark white gym shorts? No, no, I did not. So I then got to walk around the gym looking like I couldn’t hold my preworkout in. Oh, this of course happens to be the night my gym crush shows up and I spend the rest of my workout walking backwards through the gym to avoid giving him a bad…. second opinion. Lesson learned! Now I may need to try one of those green color correcting creams to reduce the scarlet red blush of humiliation from my cheeks. No, not those cheeks. In my experience, setting sprays have never worked well. Laging nagta-transfer yung or nagca-cake yung base ko. I’ve tried Squad Cosmetics, Issy, MAC, Zeesea, Sea Makeup, and Azla. Sa mga nilista ko, the only ones that worked kinda well are Sea Makeup and Azla (they both make my makeup melt pretty nicely, pero my makeup still smudges / transfers). So yun na nga. On my journey to find the best setting spray, I went on a rabbit hole sa TikTok and found out that people use 70% ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL as their setting spray!!! Ang ginagawa nila is dina-dilute siya with water or witch hazel… and apparently, it works wonders kasi all setting sprays use alcohol as an ingredient. Just mix them in a spray / mist bottle and boogsh! I went thru the comments and andaming esthetician na nagsasabing totoo nga siya, so I said 🤷🏻‍♀️ alright and I tried it for a week. For reference, I am a 1st year nursing student na pawisin and super oily. Kahit na mag-oil up or pawisan ako, my makeup doesn’t budge! Even if i-pat ko ng panyo or oil blotting paper, halos waley transfer! And napansin ko rin na it helped dry out my pimples! Some info about me: I have oily skin, I'm pawisin, I'm a student who commutes papuntang school and walks for more than an hour pauwi under tirik na araw, mainit sa school namin huhu, and my schedule is from 7am to 2pm. ZEESEA, Pink Cap My very first setting spray, nagpadala sa hype HAHAHA. I mean, worth naman yung hype for me. This setting spray actually has my favorite finish, it melts/settles my makeup so nicely on my face, and it leaves a natural finish na walang glow pero it's not super matte. I don't remember how long exactly before I oil up kasi it's been a long-time since I've used if, basta I know it takes a few hours before I oil up — dapat lang since this variant is specifically for oil control HAHA. It really does extend the longevity of my makeup, again, I don't remember how long huhu basta matagal bago humulas. My makeup does transfer tho, lalo na kapag pinagpapawisan ako, andaming nata-transfer sa tissue kapag nagpupunas ako. Maganda rin nozzle nito, fine yung mist na lumalabas. Also, this has my favorite smell out of the bunch, mabago siya for me. Vice Cosmetics 24HR Lock Honestly, this is my least fave setting spray out of the bunch oops. Don't get me wrong, I'd still recommend this kasi ok naman performance niya, pero meh. Just go for ZEESEA if you're looking for a budget setting spray. Maraming nagsasabi that this doesn't have oil control, pero idk kasi mas maganda oil control neto kesa ZEESEA based on personal experience, to each their own situation siguro. Mga 5hrs bago ako mag-retouch, and yung hulas niya is medj noticable huhu. Medjo nagiging visible na yung acne marks ko, and all the products sa nose ko ay wala na, down to the base literal. Sa nozzle, ok naman siya most of the time, pero may moments na sabog siya kaya magugulat ka nalang pagka-spray mo sa face. The smell is nice for me, it has a light floral siya, parang sampaguita. Pero yun nga, out of the bunch, this is my least favorite setting spray. Milani Make It Last, Original I should've probably went for the matte variant, nonetheless, maganda parin performance nito. Very natural yung finish niya, may pagka-natural glow yung face mo, pero it's not dewy. Most of the time nagiging noticable yung oil ko tuwing 11am, pero hindi naman super dami nung oil na lumalabas, nakaka 2-3 blotting papers ako. It really does extend the longevity of my makeup, mga 6-7hrs bago ako mag-retouch. Lumilitaw nang veryyy light yung acne marks ko sa cheeks, pero the products are still very much there down to the base. Pero same with Vice Co., tanggal na talaga lahat ng products sa ilong huhu. I also noticed na may times na medjo nagiging patchy yung blush ko in some areas, pero it's really not noticable unless tinignan mo up close. Bet na bet ko yung nozzle nito, super fine yung mist and even yung distribution. For the scent, may light floral scent din siya, kung Vice Co. ay sampaguita, this one smells like roses to me. Urban Decay All Nighter I LOVE THIS. Ngl, I was skeptical at first kung it will still work kasi 2022 pa yung manufacturing date niya when I checked the code sa box. Pero hoorah, gumagana siya, and it works really well. This leaves a natural finish, may onting glow but not dewy. This extends my makeup from classes hanggang pag-uwi, I'm not even joking. I only need to retouch mga 12 or 1pm, and I don't even need to retouch much, tbh yung blush lang nireretouch ko kasi nag-lighten lang siya. Pero everything is still intact, even products ko sa nose ay andun parin, this is the only setting spray that has achieved that. Na-shock ako mostly sa fact na naglalakad ako pauwi for more than an hour sa ilalim ng initan, pero my makeup still looks nice even if pinagpawisan ako. Also, transfer who? Sa sobrang minimal ng transfer, wala kang karapatan magreklamo, joke HAHAHA. Nagiging noticable yung oil ko tuwing 12pm, and the oil produced is not even that much tbh. I use 2 blotting papers most of the time, 3 kapag nag-inarte ako HAHAHA. There are two things that I don't like about this product, the nozzle and the scent. I really don't like the nozzle, sabog yung lumalabas na mist dahil dun huhu. Also the scent, my gosh the scent, nawawala naman yung scent pag nag-settle na sa face (which is mabilis naman din) pero jusq amoy laway siya huhu 😭😭. Here's my reco for fixing sprays as a oily dehydrated girly in a hot & humid country right at the equator (I stay in SG where it gets more humid and hot than in PH). I also tend to finish 1 bottle of a 100ml Setting Spray in a month. 1 - One Size On 'Til Dawn Setting Spray Thoughts: Gusto nyo ba ng plakado from day to night? Yung sa akin the other way around bec I wore this from 6pm - 6am and been through eating dinner, chill na inom, partying at Zouk, 20mins of walking to look for an after party hawker, eating a hot bowl of hor fun and my makeup was still on. Nothing budged even if I did sweat throughout the walking, jumping and dancing. If you need something for special occasions that you know you'll be beat up but you want your makeup na plakado pa rin, this is it! I will repurchase. Application: Mac fix+ after liquid & creams and O/S setting spray after powders 2 - CT Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray Thoughts: Upon application, parang nasusuck yung hydration sa face ko which has its pros and cons. Pros for oily skin type is that the oiliness won't peak thru until 8hrs later but if you're a dry skin type hooman, use it with caution kasi baka magcrusty yung makeup nyo especially if you'll be using powders. No qualms about this product except for its price but I use it as well on occasions that I want a plakado makeup look and I know that I'll be out for a while. I will repurchase. Application: CT setting spray after liquid & creams then final spray after powders 3 - Makeup Forever Mist & Fix Matte Thoughts: This is the setting spray I brought with me in Bali for 9 days and it was giving. It's not like the CT spray na parang nasuck yung every drop ng hydration sa face mo. My makeup was still great even if I walked for the whole day in Ubud (weather was sunny but I didn't sweat bec of the cool breeze) and Seminyak (sunny but cool breeze pa rin but I did sweat a bit). Whenever I sweat and use a paper towel, there's transfer but not in an alarming way. Whenever I'm about to take my makeup off, I'm amazed how my makeup was still on. I will need to try this on SG weather tho which is comparable with PH's. I will repurchase. Application: Makeup Forever setting spray after liquid & creams then final spray after powders 4 - Sephora Makeup Setting Spray Thoughts: If you're on a budget and you need an everyday setting spray, this is it! Not sure why this is slept on but I trust this with my 9am-6pm and my 40hr commute back and forth (total of 1.2hrs) via train with a bit of walking to the train stn and my office. I really recommend this for everyday. It doesn't suck out the hydration but makes my makeup on fleek. I will repurchase. Application: Sephora setting spray after liquid & creams then final spray after powders 5 - Urban Decay All Nighter (not in photo) Thoughts: Been repurchasing this over the years since it was the OG setting spray but a lot of better setting sprays have been released in the market. It's weird because it makes my makeup a bit crusty even if it doesn't suck the hyrdration after application. My makeup is ok but I get oily after the 5th hr mark with this one. My eyeshadow also gets into my lines. This is only a so-so and would not repurchase since I already have other better setting sprays. Application: UD setting spray after liquid & creams then final spray after powders 6 - GRWM Lifeproof Fixing Spray Matte Thoughts: Idk why I kept on trying to make this work. I bought 4 bottles of the bigger size when I was back in PH because I thought I will save some moolah. But after 3hrs, my makeup gets too oily na. By lunch time, I need to touch up with blotting paper and powder. Tried this with every technique I could think of but this isn't for me. At first, I thought it was a good setting spray for everyday that I reco it in this subreddit but I think I was delulu bec I really want to support PH made products. I hope they'll develop a better setting spray that can go thru fire & ice. lol. I won't repurchase anymore bec it did nothing to keep my makeup on and my oil on bay. 4 bottles of trying it out is enough I guess until they improve the formula.
