This sewing machine is a few years old, last I used it was probably last fall. When I moved in February, it was still white (like you can see some accents that haven't yellowed). It has been stored in about 20°C temp this whole time, covered. I know plastic can yellow over time, but that seems rather quick. Is it possible to reverse this? Hello guys, really need some help here. I've been sewing for about 7 years but have never bought a machine before. This one keeps getting reccomended to me and I absolutely love how it looks, but the price is throwing me off. My mother's machine is about 2k and I love it, mine is about $500 and I hate it (It's a janome if anyone is wondering). So the extremely low price for a machine promising to be heavy duty is scaring me. Additionally, I have heard some people say Singer is no good, and I don't want invest in a junk machine even if it is really cheap. I remember watching the Mai Ardour graduation dress two years ago and had always wanted to make it, but I didn’t know how to sew. About two weeks ago, I pulled my grandma’s old Singer out from the garage and decided to teach myself. I practiced on some scraps to get the hang of the machine and then went to Hobby Lobby and bought fabric and bias tape for $11. This piece took me about 7-8 hours over two days. I am quite happy with how it turned out. I can’t wait to try more fabric types and colors. The only question I have is about the seams around my hips. They seem to be bunching up and creating bumps. My mother had an old "Brother" sewing machine from the early 80's until early 10's. She then had a cheap one until now, and it broken down. She uses it for everything so needs to cope with everything from Fine fabric to denim to upholstery.
