Yahoo Sports: Does Shai Gilgeous-Alexander really fall more than his peers?
Presenting without judgement other than this was the most interesting part to me: "He wasn’t done. SGA topped that high mark in Game 2 on Wednesday night, falling a staggering nine times on his shots (including fouled attempts). That’s more than Wembanyama has fallen in this entire postseason on his shot attempts. Considering that Wembanyama has gotten a whistle nearly every time he has fallen (seven out of eight), maybe he should dive more often. Or not." https://sports.yahoo.com/nba/article/flop-or-not-does-shai-gilgeous-alexander-really-fall-more-than-his-peers-134022010.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly90LmNvLw&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAHuRZ838AIVSLWMwQNDb9hqMvlPYET-5ssXiUvkHlGrK67DhLHQggdcCpeqr7OzNWPowy5CHdHUj7BALoIPkPeHWOtEPeFdZh1tRbjIoHZ9UVnsa6h87-K-2LIz0gjw9CleRWK0W3gQoJSbxzAy7VjHMNirAdDr36dwYYyb4JjzV submitted by /u/Ok-Topic-6095 to r/nba [link] [comments]

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on the night he receives his 2nd MVP award in a row: 24 points on 7/23 shooting | 24/3/12 overall | Team-worst +/- of -14 in a 7-point loss
EDIT: +/- of -15. The original post is as follows. On... 7/23 FG 2/7 3P 8/9 FT https://www.espn.com/nba/boxscore/_/gameId/401873197 Between Castle, Harper and Wemby, the Spurs had far more options to make the reigning MVP's life hell than the Thunder did to make Victor's less anywhere near as painful as the Spurs steal home court advantage in Game 1 while Chet made like the Avatar and disappeared. He was able to get to his offense going in the 4th with 12 4th quarter points and he got to the line enough times to keep the game close late and ultimately tied the game with 3 seconds to go with his 19th shot and force overtime after the Spurs final shot attempt was blocked by Chet but San Antonio had different plans in overtime. To put tonight into perspective: He had as many points as Wemby did rebounds. submitted by /u/CazOnReddit to r/nba [link] [comments]

Nick Wright on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander flopping: "Thunder fans can’t accept winning a championship gets you the championship and the bragging rights and the belt. But it does not get you necessarily love and it times it doesn’t get you much respect think you deserve."
Nick Wright on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander flopping: “I am not arguing that Shai only does that, Shai is one of the most prolific drivers to the basket. He does very often get actually fouled and still finish. He’s a great player but one of the clubs in his bag that he goes to more often then any other All-Time great player is the just cartoonish flailing about throwing his own self to the ground to get a call. And it’s fu*king maddening. Thunder fans can’t accept winning a championship gets you the championship and the bragging rights and the belt. But it does not get you necessarily love and it times it doesn’t get you much respect think you deserve. And oddly you know the person could have told Thunder fans that? A person that Thunder fans many of them feel exactly that way about his championships former Thunder Kevin Durant.” Source: WhatsWrightShow submitted by /u/AncientOneAurelius to r/nba [link] [comments]

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: “you’ll never hear an OKC fan complain about my free throws. You’ll never hear a Denver fan complain about Jokić’s free throws. You’ll never hear a Lakers fan complain about Luka’s free throws. It’s just part of the business.”
“I understand why [fans] are frustrated about it, because they’re an X, Y and Z fan,” says Gilgeous-Alexander. “They’re playing against us, and in the past couple years we’ve happened to beat their team. And we beat their team because we scored more points. We scored points at the free throw line, midrange, three-point shot, free throw, everything. So I completely understand why they’re frustrated. “But you’ll never hear an OKC fan complain about my free throws. You’ll never hear a Denver fan complain about Jokić’s free throws. You’ll never hear a Lakers fan complain about Luka’s free throws. It’s just part of the business. But I love it, it creates buzz around the game. It creates rivalries. It creates energy. It’s what makes the NBA so fun. Honestly, the fact that they care so much is great, because they care, they watch it on TV, the TV deals grow, I get more money. It’s how it goes. That’s honestly how I see it. So I love it. It’s amazing. It makes the games more fun.” source:https://wwwsi.com/nba/shai-gilgeous-alexander-shrugs-off-free-throw-criticism-in-bid-for-second-straight-mvp submitted by /u/ColoradoMenace24 to r/nba [link] [comments]
