Me [29 M] with my wife [27 F] of 4 years, just found she has a fake instagram and is following my exes?
I am not The OOP, OOP is u/throwawayfakeinsta Me [29 M] with my wife [27 F] of 4 years, just found she has a fake instagram and is following my exes? Original Post Nov 29, 2014 Hi reddit. My wife, Claire, and I have been married for four years. We have been together for a total of seven years. During this time, nothing like this has ever happened. She is honestly the most drama-free person I know. We have rarely ever argued during our time together, and she is very mature when conflict arises and will come talk to me about the situation calmly. She has also never been outwardly jealous or bitchy when it has come to other girls in my life, including exes. Before Claire, I had had 3 "serious" girlfriends. The most serious of the 3, was a girl I dated when I was 16 named Hannah. I was just a teenager and I thought I was in love, so it was a very dramatic relationship with all those hormones thrown into the mix. I was very cut up when she left me for another guy, but eventually I got over it. We were in contact for a while through facebook (she is now married, with children), and it was nothing more than a hi and bye sort of thing. I eventually removed her because we simply did not talk anymore. The other two were nothing special, just girls I dated and it didn't work out. I have always told Claire the truth, and was very open with her about my past, especially about Hannah because that had been my longest and most emotionally involved relationship prior to Claire. Claire has never exhibited any crazy, jealous behavior. She asked normal questions regarding Hannah, what had happened, etc, but nothing at all that would ring any alarms. She never seemed to be upset at all when we discussed the past, and she never brought it up beyond our conversations. This whole thing is so out of left field and so very unlike her that I am extremely confused and shocked. We both have instagrams and sometimes we will take a selfie on the other person's instagram (if they've gone to the bathroom and left their phone) with a weird face or something and tag it as #clairewashere or #mikewashere. Today we were just lounging around having a lazy Saturday, watching tv. She went to go take a shower and left her phone on the coffee table. So I go to take a silly selfie and tag it when I notice her instagram looks really weird. Instead her pictures, it was pictures of someone else, and the name "Cecilia" was in the description box. The username was different, and this account had about 10 followers, as opposed to the 65 people they were following. I clicked to see who they were following and I was stunned to see my three exes plus other girls who are friends/co-workers with me on the list. The more I scrolled through the followers, the more girls I knew/know popped up. Girls I'd been to school with, girls I worked/work with, my exes, Hannah's HUSBAND even. I quickly put her phone back and when she came out of the shower I acted as nothing was wrong, because I honestly have no idea what the hell to even say. Is she keeping tabs on my exes/women i know? Does she have other fake accounts where she checks what they post? And more importantly WHY??? Why would she do this?? I can't understand it. Is she looking for contact between us or inappropriate posts or what? Please help me, reddit. I am a bad liar and can't keep this bottled in for much longer. Eventually she will know something is up and I need to figure out how to talk to her about this. I just feel so blindsided, this is honestly the last thing I would expect from her. How should I approach this so she won't freak out? TL;DR: Wife has a fake instagram account and is following my exes + other women who have been in my life. She has never exhibited jealous behavior and I am completely blown off course by this. RELEVANT COMMENTS ladyxdi This just sounds like some insecurity issue. You probably told her about how you thought Hannah was the love of your life and that you'd never find anyone better but then you grew up and stopped being a teenager. However, there's probably some idea in the back of her head that you think of Hannah as the one that got away. OOP You may be right :/ I did tell her that I was very upset by the breakup and I thought I loved her, but like you said, I grew up. I was 16 ffs, didn't even know what love was. When I approach her I will definitely address that though and let her know Hannah was definitely not "the one who got away". Thank you for pointing that out Update 1 Nov 30, 2014 (Next Day) First, thank you to everyone for your comments and advice, especially to those of you who admitted doing similar things before. It really did help me when thinking of what to say to her. Today I decided to approach her when we were calm and relaxed after breakfast. The conversation went like this: Me: Hey can I ask you something? Claire: Yea, of course. Me: Who's Cecilia? Claire: (tenses up) Hmm? Me: I was going to take a selfie on your instagram last night when you went to shower and I noticed it wasn't logged into your instagram. It was some other account, a woman named Cecilia? Claire: Oh. Me: Oh? She went quiet for a long minute or two and wouldn't look at me. I reached over and touched her hand lightly and told her that I wasn't upset, I just wanted to know what was going on and wanted her to explain. Basically she told me this: She had always sort of resented my exes, Hannah especially, since I had told her about them. It wasn't about if we were in secret contact with each other, more like she was curious about them. She wanted to see what I had seen in them and she couldn't make a fake facebook profile because people can sniff those out instantly and would just delete her or not accept her friend request. She told me instagram was ideal because strangers follow each other all the time and people are "follower whores" and just accept anyone if they are on private. She told me she people tend to post more of their life on instagram anyway because its so quick to upload a picture. She wanted to glimpse into their lives and see if they were really that extraordinary. I told her I could understand the morbid curiosity of checking out an ex of mine, but why were there normal girls from my life on there too? She told me (rather reluctantly) that she had some bottled up jealousies about them, especially one girl who I work with who is in a band and whos music I thought was okay. She said that she couldn't compete with some of these girl's talents, because she didn't have them, and what started as a small curiosity became an obsession with them and what they do. After she told me all of this, a lot of little things started to click. Claire had begun to point things out in stores and ask me if I liked them, even though they were very far from anything she'd like (furniture, clothing, etc). She had seen exes/girls post these things on their instagrams and was actually checking to see if I was compatible with their tastes. She also used to like indie bands a lot, but ever since getting to know about the girl at work whos in a band, she has completely dropped the genre and began to bash it a little if a song would come on the radio. She has also asked me about seemingly innocent things like a different hair style or color, or even what I would think about certain tattoos (one ex of mine has a full sleeve). These things were very un-Claire (she has this super clean fashionista look/style), but I really just assumed she was trying to branch out or something. Never in a million years would I have guessed it was because she was checking out my exes on instagram. I told her that I understood her curiosity, but that it wasn't healthy or helpful. She might follow these people on instagram, but she doesn't actually know them. She doesn't know if they are good people, if they are even interesting people beyond what they post. I told her to think about how many really extraordinary people she actually meets, and how likely it is that any of these girls are the super amazing people she thinks they are. I pointed out how easy it is for people to make a fake persona online, using her "Cecilia" as an example. I told her Hannah was just a girl I had dated as a teenager, and I grew up and realized what real love was. She was nodding a lot and agreeing with me and the conversation seemed to be going well. Then I asked her to delete the account and she sort of just froze up. She said what did it matter, she wasn't contacting them or harassing them, she was just looking at their pictures. I told her she was fueling an assumption she had about them and that it wasn't healthy to continue to obsess over them. She got angry that I used the word "obsess" and asked me if I thought she was crazy as well. "Is that what you think? That I'm just some crazy obsessed person? Because, you know what I think is crazy? It's crazy to have been in love with someone who cheated on you, and you went after her after she did it. And she continued to cheat on you. And you still went after her. I don't think you'd ever go after me. You've told me that. You've said cheating was a dealbreaker and that would be it. But it wasn't for Hannah. You cried, you went after her. So that means she had something I don't. And yea, maybe it's a little out there with the account and all, but it's the only way I can know for sure. Honestly Mike, I don't even know what you saw in her. Was it the bad taste in furniture or the brand name obsession? But hey. I'm the crazy one right. I'm obsessed. " Woooooaaa. I just sort of sat there open-mouthed at that whole thing and she got up to leave. She said she was very sorry but she couldn't be in this conversation right now and she would come back when she was ready to be level-headed. That was about 2 hours ago and she's still not home. Honestly not sure where to go from here. We have always been able to work out our differences, and she has never quite just exploded on me like that before, so I know this issue is very different from anything we've experienced before. I would really like if she deleted her account and would stop ruminating about these women who have no bearing on our lives anymore, but obviously just touching the subject of it is too much for her right now. Any advice on what to say to her when she's back would be great. tl;dr: Confronted wife on the situation, seemed to be going well until I asked her to delete the account. She blew up about my "serious" ex and left the house. Update 2 Nov 30, 2014 (Later the same day as update 1) First of all, I want to say a million thanks to everyone who commented. Thank you to everyone who gave advice and those who shared their own experiences with this sort of thing. I want to especially thank those of you who told me about your experience being in my wife's shoes. It has helped immensely to know that this seems to be a much more common issue than I had initially believed. Claire came home around 4 and approached me to talk. She apologized for blowing up, for the account, for lying, and for walking out on our argument like that. She acknowledged that she was in the wrong and that she knew her actions were immature. We sat down and talked for a long time about all the things she had been bottling up. It turns out (like many of you guys mentioned in the comments) that she had this idealized view of what my relationship was like with Hannah. I took your advice and explained to her that I was a stupid teen and Hannah was certainly not "the one that got away". I had chased her back then because I had little self respect. She accepted that but she still looked like she was bottling something so I told her to speak freely. From what she said, I can say this. Sometimes when we speak about our exes, we forget that the other person hasn't been in our shoes. They don't realize who this person was as we did. So there were a lot of little things she grabbed onto that I had told her. For example, I told her how when I was with Hannah I would sleep on a park bench outside her house whenever her dad kicked me out because he didn't want some guy staying overnight. She held on to that and she told me that it was a little sad to her, because she felt that spoke a lot about the extent I was willing to go for Hannah. Of course, we have never been in a situation that would warrant me doing that for Claire, so she has no idea if I'd do that for her or not (I would). But again, I was a teenage boy and my family life wasn't so great, so sleeping on a bench in a coat outside my girlfriend's house wasn't such a big deal to me. We spoke about the other exes and women on the list, and went through each one and why she felt the way she did. It was a looong long conversation. But it was also very enlightening. There were a lot of things I told her that I had forgotten about, but clearly she had not. Almost every time it came down to her feeling like they had something she did not, or that I had shared an experience with them that we could not share (going on a trip together, being with me when I had major reconstructive surgery, being with me when my brother died). I told her I loved her very much, and that obviously none of these girls had cut it because it was Claire I was married to. And then she said "Yea but...I feel that if Hannah had never cheated on you...that would've been who you married." And looked extremely sad while saying it. I told her honestly that we could never know for sure because things did not turn out that way, but that most likely not. I would have eventually grown up and gotten over the "wow" of Hannah and moved on with my life. After all this talking, she logged into the instagram and let me watch her delete the account. She promised me to stop insta-stalking and that she would try to be up front with me when she felt insecure about someone. I said to her, very carefully, "I understand. And if you ever think that just talking to me isn't helping, or maybe you want a different opinion, we could always do something like couples' therapy so we could all get some perspective on the matter." She took it very well and agreed. I do think perhaps Claire would benefit from therapy, but I feel that is a choice she has to make on her own. I already put the suggestion out there and let her know it's okay if that needs to be an option. Like I've said, she's never been one to be dramatic or cause issue, so this is a very unique situation and I am much more understanding of it now that we talked and I've read so many similar experiences from the comments. Again, I want to thank everyone who helped. You guys are honestly amazing and so much better than a 300 dollar/hr counselor lol. --- tl;dr: Wife came home and we had a very very long discussion. Put the option of therapy out there so she knows its okay to do if she finds it within herself to go. Account was deleted and a lot of loose ends/assumptions were cleared up. Why is "looks-maxing" ridiculed in men when women have been doing it since the beginning of time?
First off, I'm not trying to defend clowns like Clavicular who advocate things like bone-smashing and micro-dosing methamphetamine. I'm against either gender feeling pressured to take extreme measures to augment their appearance, but I find myself wondering why there seems to be such a double-standard on this topic? But if you boil down the idea of "looks-maxing", it seems to me the main argument is that these young men believe that looking more conventionally attractive will get them advantages in dating and other areas of life, like employment. It seems to me that women have been operating under this assumption since the beginning of time. Yes you have some very extreme and risky measures taken by men to try to look better, like limb-lengthening surgery and the aforementioned bone-smashing, but is this really that much more extreme than: Getting silicone bags implanted in the chest which might pop and induce sepsis Having fat transferred from the midsection to the butt, in a procedure which might result in death Having neurotoxin injected into the face to paralyze muscles Injections and surgery on the face to change your features and bone structure A lot of this stuff is seen as a status-symbol on social media for women, while men who speak openly about things they've done to improve their "beauty" (aside from going to the gym) are met with derision. When male politicians are "caught" wearing shoes giving them a couple extra cm of height, they become the butt of a joke and it's something they have to deny. Like I have seen a lot of comments and joke headlines saying looks maxers are undergoing "gender affirming care" or are "male-to-male transitioning". Why isn't it labeled "gender affirming care" for women to spend hours a week doing countering makeup to augment their bone structure, or getting tattoos on their face to make their eyebrows seem fuller? edit: formatting submitted by /u/pragmojo to r/NoStupidQuestions [link] [comments]

Best all rounder SHOES for women?
Look I think spending 10k+ on good nikes is doable for me, but I'm trying to cut out my expenditure, making it heavily necessity based instead of want-based. Brand doesn't matter, budget is fine as long as it looks like I'm buying shoes and not fkn gold lol. Use cases should be vast though (daily commute, hanging out, walking/running, gym too, maybe could also go with casual-formals for office like with plain denims/trousers) AND should look cute. 😭 Basically I'm looking for some shoes that could last me years. AIO for snapping at my friend for calling my shoes (and me) trashy?
My friend works in finance, and his office throws the team a celebration lunch at a nice restaurant when they have an exceptionally good “quarter” or whatever. Dates are allowed, and he said he was tired of being one of the only people to go alone every time. So, he asked if I would be his +1 this time. The dress code was business casual. I wore a loose, white, button down shirt, grey slacks, and 2-inch, leopard print heels. He saw my shoes and said they were tacky. When I asked how, he replied that only “certain women” wear leopard/cheetah print. I questioned him further about what kind of women. He said the kind that wear print styles. I pushed him until he finally admitted he meant trashy women. For context, I’m also Latina. I don’t have proof because he didn’t explicitly say it, but his tone and the way he kept dancing around the questions felt really racially loaded. He’s probably referring to the “chonga” stereotype racists imagine when referring to “trashy” hispanic women. I got mad and told him that I was doing him a favor, and that he needs to shut up before I get so angry I make us both look bad because I’ll either be upset the whole time or just not go to the lunch. Was he right about the shoes? Should I apologize? submitted by /u/International-East63 to r/AmIOverreacting [link] [comments]

A woman sold her boyfriend’s shoe collection, reportedly worth thousands, for just $250 as revenge 😬
A woman has gone viral after selling her boyfriend’s shoe collection, reportedly worth thousands, for just $250 as revenge 😬 She said she was tired of being ignored while he spent all his time scrolling through social media and following other women. According to her, she wanted to make sure “someone appreciated his shoes more than he appreciated her.” The story quickly blew up online, with reactions split down the middle. Some people are backing her revenge, while others are calling it straight-up theft… So what do you think... savage payback or way too far? 🤔 submitted by /u/beklog to r/SipsTea [link] [comments]

Roped into our neighbors’ search warrant because we live in a duplex. Police seized our iPad only used for art.
I am NOT OOP, OOP is u/typewrytten Originally posted to r/legaladvice Roped into our neighbors’ search warrant because we live in a duplex. Police seized our iPad only used for art. Trigger Warnings: police brutality, destruction of property Original Post: June 10, 2025 My wife and I live in the upstairs unit of a duplex in Minnesota. The two units have separate house numbers and are independent, aside from a shared entryway, garage, and trash cans. We have our own keys, front doors inside the entryway, mailboxes, electric meters, etc. Earlier this week, multiple police officers and a SWAT unit executed a search warrant for the downstairs unit. The warrant was for narcotics and firearms. At 7 am on the dot, the Minneapolis Police Department showed up with no sirens and blocked off the street on both sides of the house. They then forcibly broke down the shared entryway door, then the downstairs neighbors’ front door, and also the man door to the garage, which actually left a small dent in our car parked inside (not major, but still). Our front door, the one to our upstairs unit, is the only exterior door that still works in the entire building because I opened it myself when they told us to come up with our hands up. They shoved rifles in our faces, cuffed us, and put us in the back of a squad car, where we were for about two hours while they searched both apartments. They uncuffed us about an hour in but we were not allowed to leave the car. They initially told us that the warrant was for downstairs (street address 50—not the real number), and asked us repeatedly if we lived there. We said no, we live at 48 and have no connection to the people in 50. We literally just moved here less than six months ago from out of state. The most we interact with the folks in 50 is a “hey how are you?” if we happen to be in the entryway together. They asked if the apartments connected at all once inside the respective front doors (they do not). They also asked my wife multiple times if she was a specific downstairs neighbor (she is not). Both my wife and that specific neighbor are black women. Then they told us the warrant was for “the entire building” and the garage. Eventually, they printed us a second warrant on the spot that listed our upstairs address, which we only got after the searches were over. We were also directly told by an apologetic sergeant that this had nothing to do with us and we were “just caught in the crossfire.” During the search of our unit, which was not as thorough as 50’s, they seized my wife’s iPad. The only thing on this iPad is my wife’s art. Nobody touches this iPad save for my wife, not even me. They left all other electronics untouched, including my own iPad and our laptops. Meanwhile, they took every single electronic device from all the folks in 50, including their cellphones and work computers. My wife did sign a document allowing them to search the iPad. We were told it could take a month or more if she didn’t, and her art is one of our revenue streams. We can’t afford to be without it for an extended period of time. We did get a receipt. We don’t own firearms and don’t use or sell illicit drugs. We are law abiding citizens with nothing to hide. The worst things in our apartment are weed (legal here), blunt prop swords, prescribed medication, and angry cats. All were left unharmed. No arrests were made, so I’m assuming nothing illegal was found downstairs either. The whole scene was very overwhelming and frankly a little terrifying, especially with guns pointed at us first thing in the morning. I’m kicking myself for not paying better attention because the situation feels off to me. I was more worried about making sure the cops didn’t manhandle my wife and knew about our escape artist cat. I’m also disabled, so sitting with my hands cuffed behind me so tightly for so long was not a great experience and I was/am in a lot of pain. Was this all on the level? Can they search both units when they are separate like this? Is it normal to print off a new warrant off on the spot? Why only take her iPad and leave everything else while taking everything from downstairs, especially when it has literally nothing to do with anything going on in 50? How can we get it back as soon as possible? Do we need to get a lawyer? We do not have lawyer money right now and we weren’t charged with anything, so I don’t know how PDs work in that regard. I’m keeping an eye on the iPad via FindMy because I don’t know what else to do. This is a completely new situation for both of us; I think we have one speeding ticket between us. Location: Minnesota EDIT: y’all, the iPad is backed up to the iCloud. I don’t have another device for her to use and I cannot afford one rn. Stop lecturing me on the importance of back ups. Edit 6/10: Y’all if I see this on TikTok with a shitty Minecraft parkour video in the background, I s2g. Editor's note: OOP made lots of responses, I am listing the common questions asked and responses Relevant Comments Commenter 1: Only mistake was allowing them to look at the iPad. The police can lie to you, the month thing could've been a lie, or more likely that it'll take over a month regardless, probably longer since they have a document ostensibly justifying the seizure. Pretty sure it's all digital now, the copy your neighbours got was probably printed in the same way. Depends on how the warrant's worded if it was legal. If it specifies their apartment number (assuming the apartments are zoned as separate apartments) then they had no business going into your apartment. Likely you'll have to wait a while. You still want to speak with the police about wanting your belongings back, sometimes valuable evidence not relevant to any case gets "lost", when that happens no police officer seems capable of providing assistance. OOP: I’m not sure how we would have stopped them from looking at it. They would have just seized it anyway and hooked it up to a passcode cracker. I have its exact location on Find My, luckily. And it’s locked to my wife’s AppleID, I can brick it instantly if I really want to. Commenter 2: Since the document was signed they can more easily argue that you allowed them to have it, although it depends on what exactly she signed. Without the document they'd be more likely to budge if you bother them about it. Although naturally it's possible they're nice and will return it early since they can access it easily, but not something that can be relied on. You should get it back eventually. It's just always a risk to have it there, they really don't like taking responsibility for anything. Shouldn't hurt to speak to them at least to hear if they can give you a timeline. Speaking to a lawyer could also be a good idea if it's not beyond your means. OOP: Signed only for them to search it with the provided passcode, not to seize the actual device. If they lose it or refuse to give it back, I will rain hellfire on the police department with any means I can muster. Commenter 3: Find a lawyer. The search warrant is required before entering your residence, not during or after. I'll bet they got the warrant after the fact to cover their ass. If they had a valid search warrant like the one for the lower residence, then there would be no need to ask permission to take anything that is related to the search. If they did not have an executable search warrant prior to entering a lawyer should be able to get your iPad returned immediately. Commenter 4: I'd bet the city didn't know it was a duplex - it sounds like it was once a single-family home and was converted at some point. Definitely talk to a lawyer and Legal Aid may be able to help. OP, you did pretty well on the fly. When they have guns out, follow their directions and live to fight it out later in court, if need be. OOP: It’s been converted for at least a decade, maybe two. Not totally sure. I know how to pick my battles. If this had been ten years ago, when I was young and dumb and not married, this very well may have gone differently lol + They would have seized the iPad regardless. We only gave them permission to search it willingly instead of them passcode cracking it, no choice on the seizing part. OOP on the house they are residing at OOP: I think this house was built in 1910 or something like that, if that makes a difference. I doubt it started out as duplex, but it’s definitely been one for a while OOP on their and their wife's backgrounds OOP: My wife is black. I am a disabled trans person. Unfortunately the bare minimum doesn’t always apply to us. And they literally pulled us out at gun point and were in our apartment before I even got to say “can I help you officer?” Commenter 5: They should have given you a form showing what they took along with case number, detectives name , phone number etc. They Ipad will be kept in evidence. Even if they didn’t give you a form, go to the police station or call and they’ll tell you about how long they need to keep it. DO NOT wait for them to call you, keep calling or showing up because they most likely won’t call you. It’s just going to sit in an evidence locker once “the case” is over or the DA says it’s ok to release it. OOP: We got a warrant that looks like a middle school MS Word document, a copy of the seizure receipt for the iPad, and a copy the thing to look at the iPad. No case number, no phone number, and a cop’s name that is illegible Commenter 6: If the house is separated by legally and registered as a separate address by the governing entity in your area, and you were only provided the warrant specifically outlining your address AFTER they searched your house, then they conducted an illegal search. If you have any timestamped video from a ring cam for instance, be sure to save it, and provide to a lawyer, along with the copy of the warrant. That should be timestamped as well. A half decent lawyer will quickly be able to prove this in court, and not only get your iPad back, but I believe they are on the hook for repairing any damage. OOP: They were in our apartment before they even finished putting my cuffs on. We didn’t see the warrant until we were allowed to go back in after it was all over. I don’t think they even said anything about having one until we were in the car and then later said they were printing us one. We do not have a ring camera unfortunately. Commenter 7: NAL - but a former Minneapolis resident. You may want to reach out to your city council member. They could be really helpful. OOP: Already done! That’s what I did last night when I was still too wired to sleep. From what I’ve heard, ours is pretty cool, so here’s hoping + Damn fuck he already answered me and now we are meeting with him tomorrow. Ngl, I have never had anyone at any level of government get back to me that quick Update: March 26, 2026 (over 9.5 months later) Original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/legaladvice/s/uEQvwNc3nl Location: Still Minnesota. Oh boy where to start? If you’re looking for a guide on how to get your shit back from the police, this ain’t gonna be it. Within a week of the iPad being taken I: - spent over 12 collective hours at the courthouse talking to about 20 different people - had a meeting with our city council member - went viral on both Reddit and TikTok - had to take our disabled cat to the ER because she ate something a cop tracked in on their shoe (she’s fine—shoutout U of MN) - called and spoke to everyone from the judge that signed the warrant to the officer who took the iPad to three different records offices - was told by the officer who took the iPad that since I was causing an issue, they were going to keep it longer - requested all the police reports documents. Had to do this multiple times because I kept getting rejected. - emailed about 15 other people - connected with Communities United Against Police Brutality (CUAPB) - got a lawyer - filed case with the Office of Police Conduct Review (OPCR) The week after that, our downstairs neighbors decided this entire event was my fault and started a smear campaign against me online. Then they started texting me about how I was a disrespectful, animal abusing wife beater who uses autism as an excuse to be racist. Good people of r/LegalAdvice, I have no fucking idea how or why or when they came to that conclusion. Anyone who knows me knows that the vibes in our household are very much NOT that. I mean, I am autistic, that much is true. I’m being flippant about it now but it was incredibly stressful while it was occurring. Our neighbor is a really influential person in a specific community that we are a part of so it could have been very bad for us. Luckily the fallout wasn’t terrible. After all that... …literally nothing happened! Still to this day the MPD did not file any of their paperwork about the warrant, nobody replied to our council member or lawyer or CUAPB, nothing. I did get a redacted copy of the police report for them coming to the house. That was it. In August this had to take a back seat because the school year started and I went back to work. Ngl, I also took a break from annoying the cops so much because I was worried they would retaliate. If they opened some sort of case again me or started giving me legal trouble some other way, I would be at risk of losing my license/clearances/etc. that allow me to work with children and thus my entire livelihood. I tried to continue to reach out every month for an update. In January, the OPCR emailed us! A whole six months later! We did an intake interview with a neutral lawyer. Still have heard nothing else. We also got a little bit…sidetracked by everything going on in the city and trying to protect students/neighbors. I think the sound of a whistle will forever be etched into my nervous system. And I had my school breaks eaten up by manuscript deadlines—nothing like doing line and copy editing 10 hours a day for two weeks straight to make your brain melt. In the meantime, my wife used my shitty half-broken Apple Pencil and the shitty half-broken iPad I found in the attic that we both forgot we had. Gen 7 base I think? With 32GB of memory so it was full almost immediately and her quality took a big hit with the resolution drop. That revenue stream dried up a lot unfortunately. We’ll get it back. And then in March, our downstairs neighbors got their stuff returned. Supposedly. After our neighbors got their stuff, I had my wife call the officer who took the iPad, figuring a new voice might be helpful as I’m sure mine is now automatically associated with annoyance. Five days later (today) he calls back. Y’all ain’t ready for this. APPARENTLY, the iPad was released from evidence. In OCTOBER. But they “didn’t have a way to contact” my wife. You know, despite having our address, driver licence numbers, both phone numbers, and a signed evidence receipt. They also “accidently” had my wife’s name badly misspelled, again despite EVERYTHING they had with our names on it. This is also despite me, and the lawyer, and our CM, and CUAPB reaching out to the MPD between October and now. No “hey your shit is ready,” no “we’re done with this garbage,” nothing. It’s not like they are supposed to only hold released evidence for 60 days or anything. So we go to the evidence unit. The officer w/couldn’t even tell my wife the address of the damn place because fuck him. Granted, I already knew where it was, but still bro. I fully prepare my wife for the fact that I am going to sit there until they give it to us or I get dragged out because I am fucking over this. Shockingly, the evidence unit went off without a hitch. iPad in hand, custom engraved Apple Pencil still there, no screen cracks. And they finally gave us the case number! Amazing! Only took 10 months! We get celebratory pizza at Boludo and go home. I unplug the Wi-Fi and boot up the iPad, I don’t want it connected to our network until I make sure it’s not fucking wiretapped or something. Open Screen Time to discover they never even touched the damn thing. What-fucking-ever. 40 minutes of iOS updates and 25 minutes of app updates later and we’re back in business. It’s been real, LegalAdvice. Thanks for coming along for the ride. TL;DR: We have the iPad. description of the image A black-and-white, sketch-style illustration with a playful and expressive tone. On the left side, there is large lettering reading “F*ck the MPD,” written in a swirly calligraphy style with sparkles around it, creating a contrast between the decorative typography and the message. On the right side, there’s an anime-style character of a young lady with short bob haircut, tiny horn-like shapes on head, and facial markings on cheeks. She has expressive eyes and a slightly determined expression. Her outfit has lacy details with a fitted bodice, decorative trim. Her pose shows confidence, one arm is bent as if she’s making a fist. Around her head are small sketchy marks that look like accent lines or stylized motion/emotion cues, adding to her attitude. end of the description Editor's note: OOP did not leave any comments here in the update DO NOT COMMENT IN LINKED POSTS OR MESSAGE OOPs – BoRU Rule #7 THIS IS A REPOST SUB - I AM NOT OOP submitted by /u/Choice_Evidence1983 to r/BestofRedditorUpdates [link] [comments]

Looking for comfy pair or everyday shoes (women’s)
Hey friends, as stated I’m looking for a comfortable pair of everyday shoes. I live in Chicago so I do quite a bit of walking, I currently wear adidas tennis shoes (pictured) but they are wearing out in many places after owning them for less than a year. Seeking something of a similar style - NOT looking for sport running shoes/workout shoes submitted by /u/AbsurdPear488 to r/GoodValue [link] [comments]

Why do so many American men wear shorts and a tshirt when going out with a woman who dresses up?
I've seen this over and over through out the years, especially during this past Mardi Gras here in New Orleans. I see a ton of couples either walking or in restaurants and the woman is dressed and fit. Hair, make up, accessories, shoes, purse, and a super cute dress- all of it. By contrast, the man will be in an oversized tshirt, baggy shorts, sneakers, and yeah that's all the effort put forth. I've seen all age ranges, all income classes, all backgrounds, but never a clear common denominator. Is it really as simple as men putting 20% of their effort into getting ready, while women give 110%? How is that not embarrassing for the men? And why would all these women put up with it? submitted by /u/M_For_Mayhem to r/NoStupidQuestions [link] [comments]

My (36M) wife (34F) fell deep into conspiracy theories and online hate groups. Is there any saving our marriage?
I am NOT the Original Poster. That is Loud_Ad_9189. He posted in r/relationship_advice and r/QAnonCasualties Thanks to u/nursechai, u/Creepy_Addict and u/CourageKind for the recommendation. Do NOT Comment on Original Posts. Latest update is 7 days old. Trigger Warning: domestic violence; racism; cult-like mentality; delusion; likely some sort of undefined mental illness; bullying Mood Spoiler: so frustrating and sad for OOP, but he and daughter are ok Original Post: October 5, 2025 I (36M) have been married to my wife (34F) for six years. We have a 4-year-old daughter, and I really don’t want to divorce but I’m starting to feel like I’ve run out of options. When we first met, my wife was a kind, brilliant and outgoing person. Over the past few years, she’s changed in ways that really scare me. She’s become very involved in online conspiracy spaces and online hate groups and now spends hours every day scrolling and arguing online. It’s like she’s living in a different reality. She hasn’t held a stable job in about three years. She’ll take on part-time work but ends up quitting or getting fired after a few months. Meanwhile, I’ve become the sole provider and have also taken on most of the parenting. Our daughter loves her mom, but my wife often seems distracted or disengaged, and it breaks my heart to see that. Another issue is she has became more racist overtime. It started as an obsessive dislike of a certain celebrity, but it’s turned into outright racist comments, particularly toward women of color. She’s lost several friendships because of it, and even her family has started to distance themselves. They still check in on me and our daughter, but they’ve made it clear they don’t know how to reach her anymore. I’ve begged her to try therapy. She actually did for a few months once, and for a little while, I saw glimpses of the person she used to be. But she quit, and everything went back to the way it was. I’m emotionally exhausted and worried about the environment our daughter is growing up in. I don’t want her picking up these beliefs or thinking this level of disconnection is normal. That said, I’m also terrified of what divorce might do to her. I always believed in trying everything before walking away, and I don’t want to feel like I gave up too soon. That’s why I’m thinking about asking my wife to go to couples therapy. Maybe she’d be more open to it since it won't be just her? My question is how do I even bring this up? Would it be wrong to tell her that I’m considering divorce if she refuses? I don’t want it to sound like a threat; I just want her to understand how serious things have gotten. I love her and want to believe there’s still a way forward, but I can’t keep doing this by myself. If anyone has been in a similar situation with a partner who’s fallen deep into conspiracies or become resistant to therapy, how did you approach it? I really want to try everything I can before making such a painful decision. Some of OOP's Comments: unimpressed46: Threatening divorce to force her into couples counseling is not the appropriate route. For couples counseling to work, both people need to be open and willing to do the work. Approach couples counseling as a team effort. It’s something that could help you both better communicate and work together. Couples counseling doesn’t solve relationship issues. But it can give you the tools to tackle the issues together. The rabbit hole of conspiracies is difficult to pull someone out of. It’s almost like an addiction, and you can’t force someone out of addiction if they don’t want to give it up. Consider counseling for yourself as well. It may help you navigate this situation. OOP: I feel like I don't even know how to talk to her anymore. She rants at me about things but I haven't had a good conversation with her for the longest time. Appreciate what you said about getting counseling for myself. I’ve honestly been so overwhelmed RideJackRide: You face what I did with my brother. Unfortunately the main problem with all-things-conspiratorial is the cult members are programmed to reject absolutely everything that refutes their positions. Counseling will only work if she realizes she has an issue. And you can't really use it as a lever because there is just no way she will respond to the stick without automatically concluding that you are part of the [cabal / Deep State / libtard / "Them"] that is out to get her and her cult members. It did not end remotely well with my brother. We are permanently estranged. The Q is strong with the Qnutz. OOP: I was afraid to hear this. She isn't exactly Qanon, she used to be liberal but she is now strongly anti-vaxx, thinking of homeschooling our daughter because the education system is grooming kids or whatever, anti-government, anti-Meghan Markle...it's a long list. Sorry about your brother lknei: Your daughter will do far better being raised in a co-parenting arrangement than being raised in a loveless home. Staying together for her is not the right choice. You need to want to stay together because that's what is best for you and your wife and it seems like your wife isnt good for you anymore OOP: One of the things that really scares me about the idea of divorce is what would happen with a custody arrangement. I may not have any control over what our daughter is exposed to during her time with her mom. I’m also scared about her general attentiveness. My wife can get so wrapped up in her phone or online discussions that she tunes everything else out. If our daughter needed her or got hurt, I’m not confident she’d notice right away. ChromeLightBulb: [...] If possible I'd try filming the moments you mentioned where your daughter is specifically trying to interact but she's clearly not interested as she's on her phone etc and play them back to her. [...] OOP: Thank you for the filming suggestion. OOP adds: She used to be a very outgoing person. She had a large supportive circle of family and friends, was involved in our community and then covid hit and she started spending so much time online and just never went back to being her old self no matter how hard I tried or her family or friends tried to reach her DaniTully: As soon as you mentioned getting obsessed with a celebrity and now is against women of color, I pegged this as a Meghan Markle thing. I am sorry she has found her dopamine hits in hatred. Best of luck to you and your daughter. OOP: Surprisingly, her obsession with Meghan Markle has been just as detrimental as her anti-vax or anti-education beliefs. It’s been one of her longest running online fixations and, in many ways, acted as a gateway for more extreme behaviors. What started as constant criticism slowly bled into racist attitudes in real life. Editor's note: OOP has some comments from awhile ago talking about his wife's fixation and hatred of Meghan Markle and how it is worrying him. RawMeHanzo: And you're perfectly okay having your children growing up to be racist, too? You need to divorce her, no matter what "happens" to her. She's going to turn your children into hateful little bigots if they hear the pathetic vitriol their mother is spewing. OOP: I'm not ok with my daughter growing up to be racist or mean to other women. This isn’t who my wife used to be and I kept hoping something like therapy could help her find her way back. I’ve been doing everything I can to protect my daughter from this but people keep acting like divorce is some magic fix. If we split there’s a good chance we’ll have shared custody, and I won’t be there to protect my daughter the way I can now. wino12312: Talk to a lawyer. Usually they offer a free consult. This will give you the information you need to make a decision. I worried and worried for nothing. But do protect your daughter. Go for full custody and let her testify on her behalf. OOP: Will definitely start looking into a lawyer and getting full custody QAnon Casualty Post: November 8, 2025 (one month later) Editor's note: I took out the parts of the post that were repeating parts of the first post or part of the comments. [...] At first, she started with anti-vax talking points. I had our family doctor talk with her, and she seemed to have gotten over it but she still brings up vaccines being poison and causing autism occasionally. Around this time, she also began to have an obsessive dislike of a certain celebrity, which slowly morphed into outright racism, particularly towards women of color. She’s lost several friendships because of it, and her family began to distance themselves. They still check in on me and our daughter, but they’ve made it clear they don’t know how to reach her anymore. She has started talking about homeschooling our daughter because the education system is grooming kids and the government is brainwashing children. I've told her our daughter will be going to a normal school and having normal social interactions with kids her age. [...] My wife hasn’t held a stable job in about three years. She’ll take on part-time work but ends up quitting or getting fired after a few months. I’ve become the sole provider and have also taken on most of the parenting. Our daughter loves her mom, but my wife often seems distracted or disengaged, and it breaks my heart to see that. I've tried to get her off the Internet by suggesting we spend more time as a couple/family. For the latest attempt I got her out of the house to go trick or treating. She barely bothered to smile or show enthusiasm for our daughter but for 3 days after I was treated to her saying nasty things about her celebrity obsession going trick or treating with her own kids. She goes on long rants about these things to me so often that I can't recall the last time I had an actual conversation with her. I've been leaning more towards getting a divorce recently, but I am scared that if we have a shared custody arrangement I wouldn't be able to control what my daughter is exposed to. I'm also terrified that my wife is so distracted when she is online that she may not notice right away if my daughter got hurt or needed her. She once forgot to give her lunch because she was on her phone and yelled at her when she started crying. I've been told this sub has seen a few success stories in getting people back to reality and would appreciate any advice from persons who have been in similar situations. Is my marriage even salvageable anymore? Some of OOP's Comments: To a longer Comment: I had some luck with getting our doctor to talk to her about her anti-vax views. I was hopeful that getting a teacher or someone she trusts within the education profession would convince her that home schooling would not be best for our daughter and she isn't equipped to homeschool a kid. But who can I get to convince her not to be racist or not to obsess about Meghan Markle online? Are you and your wife divorced now? SoVerySleepy81: Was her therapy coupled with antidepressants or anti-anxiety medication? When my mental illness was not being treated correctly and it was being allowed to kind of just rampage I was very into conspiracy theories. Once I was being treated correctly that went away pretty quickly because I was able to actually Think in logical ways rather than trying to desperately grasp for explanations for feeling like my world was out of control. OOP: She did therapy when our daughter was around 2. Obviously the therapist didn’t tell me anything directly, but my wife told me the therapist said she had anxiety but was not depressed. That it was normal for new parents to feel some level of anxiety. She did those sessions for a few months without medication and there was improvement, which is part of why this is so frustrating. It showed me she can get better when she engages with help but I can't get her to accept she has a problem and needs treatment anymore. Taking an internet break: I've tried to get her to take a break, I've even thought of cutting off the phone or Internet before but I want to be able to contact her in case there's an emergency with our daughter How the Meghan hate started: I think it started for my wife because Harry and Meghan left the royal family around the time COVID lockdowns happened and there were probably lots of tabloid stuff about them online. Her obsession with Meghan seemed harmless at first but it turned into a pipeline for more racist beliefs Update Post: January 28, 2026 (almost 4 months from OG post) I’ll try to keep this update short. I wanted to say thank you to everyone who took the time to comment and message me. For those who didn’t read the original post I made, I will link it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/relationship_advice/comments/1nywu56/my_36m_wife_34f_fell_deep_into_conspiracy/ Some of you helped me accept a reality I had been avoiding for a long time: my soon to be ex-wife was not going to get better, and I had to act to protect my daughter. I also want to specifically thank those who pointed me to the QAnon Casualties sub. Reading other families’ stories and seeing how similar the patterns were was incredibly validating. It helped me understand that this wasn’t something I could love or wait my way out of. I took the advice of some commenters and started documenting my ex's neglect of our daughter, her racism and extreme beliefs and reached out to a divorce lawyer. I checked on our joint bank accounts as advised and discovered that she had been withdrawing large sums of money from a joint account we opened early in our marriage for family vacations etc and that we had discussed using to eventually set up a college fund for our daughter when she was born. When I confronted her, she initially denied taking the money. When I demanded she show me where the money went, she went on a long rant about "creating a better world." She admitted she had donated money to organizations like TPUSA, claiming they would “create better schools” and “keep kids safe.” She had also spent a significant amount on designer handbags, shoes, and clothing that she had hidden from me. The craziest thing is she was also being scammed by someone she met through some royal gossip subreddit who claimed to have hired a private investigator to expose Meghan Markle. Apparently, this person would send her negative articles about Meghan Markle and claim that the private investigator had discovered this information and sent it to the press and my wife would send more money. She told me all of this as if it were completely reasonable and saw nothing wrong with it. I told her I was filing for divorce and at first she thought I was joking but then exploded at me and began throwing things while ranting about me breaking up the family. A glass cup she threw hit me in the head. I left the house bleeding and went to my neighbor’s, who called the police. She had trashed the kitchen by the time the police showed up and they arrested her after I explained what happened. I applied for and was granted a Domestic Violence Restraining Order, along with temporary custody of my daughter. My wife currently has supervised visitation only. She is facing a misdemeanor criminal charge related to the domestic battery incident, which is being handled in criminal court alongside the ongoing divorce proceedings. She is currently living with a former coworker, and her family has reached out to express support for me and my daughter. I am in the middle of divorce proceedings, and my lawyer believes I have a strong case for sole custody. This isn’t how I ever imagined things ending, but I’m grateful I listened to the advice here when I did. My priority now is my daughter’s safety, stability, and emotional well-being. Thank you to everyone who helped push me to act. Some of OOP's Comments: IvanNemoy: As awful as it sounds, her hitting you with that glass might be the best thing to ever happen in this case. A CDV verdict is usually a massive help to securing custody. Best of luck to you and your kiddo, and hopefully your ex maybe someday regaining their sanity. OOP: My lawyer told me the same thing. Before we had discussed how family courts preferred joint custody arrangements but we might have a chance if I could prove neglect. Her hitting me with the glass and acting unhinged in front of the police really increased those chances. I'm just glad my daughter wasn't around when all this happened. Therapy: I'll be going to therapy when the divorce is settled. I'm currently just focused on making sure my daughter is ok. Thank you for the concern OOP clarifies: She is facing a criminal case which is separate from our divorce proceedings. I'm sorry if that was confusing Again, do NOT comment on Original Posts or DM OOP. submitted by /u/LucyAriaRose to r/BestofRedditorUpdates [link] [comments]

Looking for shoes MADE for women and wide toe box
So I’ve recently learned that most shoes, especially running shoes, are made mostly with men test subjects and therefore are made with men’s feet in mind. Apparently, companies use a term called “shrink it and pink it”, which I can’t properly articulate how much that annoys me. I am looking for shoe companies that actually test and research women’s feet. Also, I have learned how bad narrow toe boxes are so I have been looking for wide toe box shoes. The problem comes with finding a shoe that meets both of these requirements: (1) actually makes shoes for women's feet and build and (2) wide toe box or natural foot shape. Brownie points: If they aren’t hideous, I really prefer a very plain solid color shoe, no random colors or unsightly logos. submitted by /u/Efficient_Trouble527 to r/womensfashion [link] [comments]

Need recommendations for the best running shoes (for women)
Ive just started running (and preparing for a marathon which is next year) and now Im looking for running shoes. While searching online I realized that there are wayy too many options out there . I’m looking for something suitable for long distance running. I know I should be looking for beyond good cushioning but every brand has a million models and it’s honestly overwhelming. I’ll mostly be running on roads and slowly building up mileage over the next year so I want something that feels supportive and comfortable on longer runs. Budget isn’t super strict (I want to use these for a long time so I’m willing to spend more), but I also don’t want to drop a ton of money on the wrong pair. I would love some recs on what to look for and where to look for. Thanks! submitted by /u/SillyGoofyPenguin34 to r/beginnerrunning [link] [comments]

These 5 women's walking shoes kept coming up in every thread.
So here's the thing. I've been trying to get my walking routine together and every single time I start looking for shoes, I end up in this weird research hole where I'm reading the same threads over and over. Like, I'll be three hours deep in r/walking posts and realize I've bookmarked seventeen different pairs and I'm no closer to actually buying anything. But I started noticing patterns. Same 5-7 models kept getting mentioned in every thread about travel days, daily step goals, or just "help me find shoes that won't destroy my feet." So I figured maybe there's something to these if they keep showing up, right? Did some digging to figure out what actually makes them worth considering for women who walk a lot or just want something comfortable for daily wear. This isn't me just throwing together random shoes I found. These are the ones I kept seeing recommended when people were talking about real use cases - like actual walking, not just looking cute at brunch. Skechers Women's D'Lites: Probably the chunkiest option here but also feels the most like actual support. Upper is leather and mesh mix with ra ubber outsole, so it holds its shape but still breathes okay. Heel gives you a slight lift of 1 1/4 inches, and the memory foam insole is way better than you'd expect at this price point. Why people love them: If you like a little height, need more structure than those pure mesh shoes, and don't mind the retro dad-shoe aesthetic, this delivers all-day comfort without looking like you raided a medical supply store. The catch though that it's noticeably heavier than everything else on this list. You'll definitely feel that weight if you're doing more than a couple of miles. The upper can be stiff around the laces during the first few wears, so expect some break-in time. New Balance Fresh Foam Roav: These show up constantly in walking and travel threads. They've got this weird-looking heel design but it actually does lock your foot in place really well. Fresh Foam midsole feels plush but still has some bounce to it, and they're surprisingly durable considering the knit upper. Also work fine with orthotic inserts if that's your thing. Why people love them: Perfect for daily urban walking, errands, light workouts, even those long airport days. Comfortable enough to wear all day but not so soft that your foot just sinks into nothing. The downside is that knit upper, while breathable, runs warm and holds moisture way longer than you'd want if you get caught in rain or just sweat a lot. Skechers Women's Go Walk Joy Sneaker: Super lightweight and built for people who prioritize comfort above everything else. The 5GEN midsole and Goga Mat insole combo makes it feel like you're walking on a soft platform without going full marshmallow mode. Total summer shoe - breathable mesh, low profile, casual vibe. Why people love them: Perfect for warm weather, travel, or those long days when you're on your feet and want something that's easy on, easy off, zero fuss. Great if you're someone who gets foot fatigue easily. But that upper is really airy and offers basically no protection from wind or rain. Also, while it's comfortable, there's not much structure. If you need arch support or any real midfoot stability, this might feel too soft or flat after a while. Skechers Men's Go Run Consistent (Unisex Fit): This one's more structured and performance-oriented. Technically marketed as men's but sizing down works fine for women who need more stability or have wider feet. M-Strike rocker tech is supposed to make walking transitions smoother, and the mesh and leather combo gives it more of a locked-in feel. Why people love them: Best option if you want something more athletic or you're doing brisk walking. Also good for people who want more heel stability than they usually get with soft walking shoes. Few things to watch out for though. That mesh and leather upper holds its shape well but isn't the most breathable when you're really moving, especially on hot days. And while it works great as a trainer-style walking shoe, it doesn't really blend with casual outfits or daily wear. Adidas Men's Kaptir 3.0 (Wider Fit Option): Surprisingly solid for all-day city stuff. Cloudfoam midsole gives you that instant step-in comfort, and the styling actually works better than a lot of ultra-cushioned options if you want something casual that doesn't scream "I'm going for a run." Built wider than typical Adidas shoes too. Why people love them: Good match if you need a cushioned walking shoe that still looks decent with jeans or casual clothes. Bonus points for the eco materials if that matters to you. The drawbacks? It's comfortable but not the most secure fit for fast-paced walking or hills. And if you need arch support, this stays pretty flat with no real built-in structure. If you want to check out everything I mentioned (plus a few extras), I put them all in one list here. Really hope this helps someone else skip the hours of scrolling and comparing I went through. Let me know if you've actually worn any of these long term though. Always curious how they hold up after some real mileage gets put on them. submitted by /u/Electrical_Lawyer131 to r/walking [link] [comments]

TIL in 2023 a Kenyan male chess player wore a burka as a disguise to enter a women’s chess tournament for prize money, but was caught after his strong performance, silence and "masculine" shoes raised suspicion

What’s the best women’s gym shoe in your opinion?
Hi! I figured this sub would be the right place to ask, since I am training with both weights and cardio to try and lose weight. My current gym shoes have been great but I got them secondhand and they’re a bit too small. I want to treat myself and invest in a good, stable pair for the gym, but just googling it is giving me mostly sponsored answers. I’ve been going to the gym for about a year and have really started taking it seriously the past 4 months. After a pretty heavy battle with mental illness / messy breakup / medications / surgery all in the span of 2 years, I did end up gaining about 60lbs. I’m currently down 20lbs! I want shoes that are going to last me awhile, and that other people have genuinely found to be comfy, supportive, and cute in the gym. I need recommendations because shoes are expensive so this is going to be an investment lol. What are tried and true gym shoes you personally love and have used for your weight loss journey that are good for both lifting and running? submitted by /u/desstony to r/loseit [link] [comments]

Most comfortable but relatively presentable walking shoes for women?
I like to do a lot of sight seeing in a lot of tourist areas. I end up wearing walking boots everywhere as I end up getting pain and inflammation in my feet. However - these are inappropriate in a lot of places. They’re scruffy & hard to take on and off quickly in places like Japan. Any suggestions please? submitted by /u/Wild-League-888 to r/TravelHacks [link] [comments]

The winner of the best Chandler quote is, "Oh no, two women love me. They're both gorgeous and sexy. My wallet's too small for my fifties, AND MY DIAMOND SHOES ARE TOO TIGHT!" s2e8. What is Phoebe's best quote? The one with the most upvotes wins.

CMV: Shoe sizes should be the same for both men and women
This one is just plain confusing. Shoes work the same way on everyone's feet. Shoe sizes measure length. Plenty of shoes look equally good on both men and women. It's weird to ask for a "women's size X" or a "men's size Y" when they end up being the same size. I know plenty of people who wear shoes of "the other sex". I can't find a good reason to not measure all feet the same way. I am opened to changing my view, especially if men's feet really are somehow different than women's feet. Any double blind studies on whether or not anyone can tell if it's a woman's vs man's feet? submitted by /u/meteoraln to r/changemyview [link] [comments]

Some women buy shoes like I buy wood...this piece of sapele just called to me. My husband seems to accept this logic. Sapele with walnut end table for next to my reading chair.

Al Bundy scoring 4 touchdowns in one game isn’t nearly as impressive as owning a 2 story home along with being the sole breadwinner for a family of 5 while working at women’s shoe store
