I’m 15 yrs old and an amateur boxer. I’ve been training nonstop for the past 5 yrs. I’m in the gym training 4 to 5 hours a day Monday through Friday everyday after school. Recently I’ve been getting burnt out on boxing and starting to realize I’m interested in other things too. I’m happy I found skateboarding because it’s helping me to balance things out. Thank you to my pop’s for supporting me in everything I told him I wanted to try skateboarding and he took me to a shop and got me a board built. Curious to see other people experienced with different trucks/brands. I bought some independent trucks and was not a fan of them ngl. The projectile you see flying in the video is, in fact, an Independent 129mm truck. This customer walked in with his child and the first thing he said was, “You’re going to give me a fucking refund!” I maintained my composure and asked for more details about his dissatisfaction with our products, particularly any issue severe enough to provoke such a reaction. He claimed the truck was defective and accused us of “ripping off children” by selling flawed products. I then requested a receipt to verify the purchase date. He did not have a receipt and claimed he had bought the truck over two months ago. Our return policy clearly states that we accept returns and exchanges within 30 days of purchase and that a receipt is required for a return. This is an industry standard. Upon inspecting the truck, I found it was indeed defective. One axle appeared to be slightly larger in diameter, making it too big for the bearings to slide on. Nevertheless, I stand by our products and offered a one-for-one replacement, even though he lacked a receipt and was well outside our return window. However, this solution was not satisfactory for him. He continued cursing at me, asserting that return policies are meant to be broken and threatening to leave ten bad Yelp reviews. My final offer was either a replacement truck or in-store credit. What you see in the video is me handing him a gift card with the in-store credit, followed by him grabbing the truck and hurling it across the store, nearly hitting his own son in the process!!! Since this incident, I received exactly 0 bad yelp reviews from this guy. He also never used the store credit. Cops were notified and provided this video along with the license plate number from his vehicle. Nothing came of it. Anyway, I could write a book about all the crazy customers I’ve had to deal with over the years.
