Pregnancy is not magical, and it's not a 'birthing experience' it's a medical event. Please stop pushing your romanticized version on me.
First and foremost. I've done this song and dance before. I have one child, and am 8 months along with my second. I'm sore, I'm tired l, I can't sleep and I hate the feeling of my baby running her fingers on my inner walls. There is no position, standing, laying or sitting that I can comfortably be in. The iron deficiency happened. So I spent most of my time feeling like I'm dying on my feet. And I REALLY wanted to build something. Like a chicken coop or box planters for my husband's garden. Or install new baseboards in the bathroom. Just DO SOMETHING PHYSICAL. Or at least reach into the washer/dryer to get my own damn laundry. (Belly is too big.) And every time I talk to people about it they look so happy and excited. Or try to tell me 'you should record the baby moving!" Or "You should have a mirror so you can watch yourself give birth!" Or tell me about the creepy internal stuff their baby did that they thought was 'magical'. No. I'm not doing that. I'm not watching that horror show. No, the baby moving around visibly in my stomach is not magical. It's like watching Alien. There's a reason a lot of body horror is based off pregnancy. So why do I even want kids? Because the pregnancy and birth are not the person. At the end of it you have a whole human being with bright ideas and a whole world you get to see them develop. That's what I love about motherhood. I just hate being pregnant. I can already hear people asking why I don't adopt. Yeah, that's not actually an option for the majority of people. It's not like an animal shelter where you can drive in, do an interview and come home with a small person. submitted by /u/CreativeRainy to r/Vent [link] [comments]

A flight with a layover is almost always better than a direct flight, even if it's longer
A flight with a layover is almost always better than a direct flight, even if it makes your trip longer by a couple of hours. With a direct flight you could be sitting for an extremely long period of time and if you want to get up you need to ask your neighbors to move if you aren't on the aisle. With a layover you are required to get up at least once during the trip and have an opportunity to stretch and walk around a bit. Airplane bathrooms have gotten so small that they seem unsanitary to use. Even as a thin person I can barely use one without touching the walls, so I have no idea how overweight people manage. The sinks are also so dinky that you almost always touch the basin while trying to wash your hands and then have to touch the trash bin to discard your paper towels. Due to their size and the frequent use of each airplane I doubt the bathrooms get cleaned/disinfected as much as they should and the number of times I've seen flight attendants headed to the bathroom with a "hazardous material" bag is concerning. With a layover you can use the airport bathroom which is much more spacious and I often see airport staff cleaning them. Food on a plane is extremely expensive and limited. If you are seated towards the back your preferred option or most options could run out before they even get to you. With a layover you have many more options for meals/snacks and different price points to choose from. Food in an airport is still expensive but not as expensive as on a plane. The only disadvantage with a layover is if your first flight gets delayed/cancelled your whole travel plans could get messed up. submitted by /u/Apprehensive-Willow5 to r/unpopularopinion [link] [comments]

Small bathroom ideas. Please help!
I have to decide on bathroom layout for a property that will be a rental for the next few years. I feel that a shower/bath would be a good investment so that the house appeals to young families. What are your thoughts on the layout? Pictures 1 or 2 or something I haven’t considered. TIA! submitted by /u/Agitated_Ad_3870 to r/AusRenovation [link] [comments]

Cheap easy meal ideas no bathroom or kitchen?
I’ve rented a small office room since it’s hundreds of dollars cheaper than an apartment. But I don’t have a personal bathroom and no kitchen. There’s a bathroom with a small sink down the hallway and around the corner that I can access for water. I have one small enteric burner to cook simple things. I’ve never been good at cooking. I normally survive off: Tuna sandwiches Grilled cheese sandwiches Quesadillas Many kinds of instant noodles or microwaveable curries Granola cereals for breakfast Fruits like berries for snacks Mac n cheese microwavable cups I have a microwave, toaster, instant pot (I haven’t used or know how to but am open to easy beginner cheap stuff I can make with it?), and electric kettle. I have a small mini fridge with no freezer so please no frozen foods. Can’t store them unless I buy to use right away like the occasional microwavable pizza I buy. I’m about to turn 30 , I’m 5 ft exactly and range between 90-95lbs. I’d like to not be a twiggy skeleton girl. I’d like to gain weight if possible. I drink 2-4 shots of vodka every few hours as well. Drink throughout my work shift and during my free time Not sure when the last time I went more than 24 hours of drinking has been also if that matters at all to coming up with some meal plans to gain weight while being poor 🙏 ————————— Update : Haven’t mentioned this post or my drinking to anyone. Brought it up to my partner and he was very upset. He said I’m being dramatic and attention seeking. I was definitely scared to mention this to anyone in person. He told me nothing would happen if I quit drinking rn and that if I did he’d reward me by being nice, giving me one kiss, one hug, all in the same day submitted by /u/Chii11 to r/povertykitchen [link] [comments]

Small/narrow bathroom redesign – foresty green tiles: good idea or mistake?
Hi! Would love any and all advice. I've attached photos of our current bathroom, the AI generated image of what we want and some close ups of sample tiles in the bathroom with different lighting (it's quite gloomy atm). FYI for the generated image, the shower would actually be on the stud wall, along with the shower screen, and we intend to have the green tiles to the floor in the sink area with no recessed lighting above the sink. Dark green tiles: We’re considering foresty green wall tiles. In a bathroom of this size, would that likely feel too dark/heavy in real life, even with lighter floor tiles and good lighting? (The AI generated image using tiles we're considering makes it look fine, but suspect they could be darker in real life?). We really like the gloss/ceramic glaze tiles where there is a range of colour/texture in tiles. Boxing in the toilet cistern: Would boxing the cistern in (to seat height, spanning bath-to-wall) make the space look cleaner and more modern, or risk making it feel smaller? We currently just have the pipes boxed in. Struggling to visualise... Vanity: Any recommendations for what price point makes sense for vanity units? We've seen some at the 1k mark, some significantly lower (e.g. from Victorian Plumbing) and not sure what makes sense - we'll probably live here for max 5 more years. Background: Full bathroom replacement: bath, shower, toilet, vanity/sink, tiles. Stud wall position is fixed due to bath size, window, and cost constraints - will be extended to the ceiling Layout advice isn’t the main goal, but open to obvious improvements. TL;DR: Redesigning our bathroom and want feedback on whether green tiles will be too dark for the space, and whether boxing in the toilet cistern actually improves the look. Vanity suggestions welcome. Editing to add: Wow, really appreciate all the feedback! Thanks so much to everyone who commented so far. For those who are asking, we used ChatGPT (free version) to generate the image. It was definitely "generous" with the size and lighting. We actually asked it to use the same tiles we got samples for, but I guess it came out unrealistically light! submitted by /u/SaltedandShrivelled to r/InteriorDesign [link] [comments]

Small bathroom renovation
Hi experienced Aus renoers, just wanting some opinions on a small bathroom Reno we are going to be starting soon, this is the layout we have proposed so far but wanting to throw it out there for you people to find some flaws we haven’t thought about The measurements of the room are 2.75m x 1.85m with standard 2.5m ceilings The main things we are trying to preserve is a separate shower and bath with some good clearance around the toilet with us currently having 800mm for the toilet space The alternative is a shower bath but we are pretty hesitant about that (Also what are people’s thoughts on external laundry’s, currently have a laundry with a WC outside that we are opting to renovate instead of trying to squeeze into either the kitchen or bathroom due to it being a pretty small workers cottage) EDIT Thank you everyone for all of your comments and suggestions! we have taken quite a few ideas from this and very appreciative! submitted by /u/Purple_Scallion7646 to r/AusRenovation [link] [comments]

Just learned my house has a feature I didn’t even know existed after living here for two years
I’ve been in this house long enough that I thought I knew every weird corner and quirk it had. The sticking door. The loud vent in the bathroom. The mystery switch that still does nothing. I figured the surprises were over. Apparently not. Yesterday I was cleaning behind the built ins in the living room and found a tiny panel almost flush with the wall. I thought it was just a cheap patch someone painted over. A few hours later, while I was playing on rollingriches, watching a video about hidden storage ideas, it reminded me to pry it open just out of curiosity. Inside was a small, completely unused cubby clean, dry, insulated, and clearly intentional big enough to store tools, emergency supplies, whatever. It even had an oldschool hook mounted inside like someone used it decades ago. I’ve walked past this wall a thousand times and had no idea. Now I’m wondering what else I’ve missed. This house was built in the 60s, so who knows how many odd little features are hiding behind trim or paneling. It makes me want to go full detective mode. Anyone else discover something unusual or unexpectedly useful in their house long after moving in? submitted by /u/CourteousPasta to r/homeowners [link] [comments]

I’m a frogger living in someone else’s apartment right now. Ask me anything.
(Upd: YES, I USE AI FOR ACCURATE TRANSLATION, STOP BRINGING IT UP. ENGLISH IS MY THIRD LANGUAGE, AND I RUN MY TEXT THROUGH AI FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE) I’m a 20-year-old woman, and for the past few months I’ve been living as a phrogger in an apartment inside a historic building in Saint Petersburg, Russia. I found out about the place while working on a student report about old residential buildings with my classmate (let’s call her Anya). Anya lived in one of those big old apartments—basically a Soviet-era communal flat. It’s a huge apartment split into separate rooms rented by unrelated people, all sharing the same kitchen and bathroom. Everyone has their own room key, plus keys to the building and the main apartment door. While we were filming, Anya mentioned that people in her flat almost never lock their room doors, and the main door is often left open because tenants go into the stairwell to smoke. I remember thinking: Anyone who gets inside the building could just walk into this place. Kind of shocking, because in Russia everyone usually locks everything all the time. She also told me there were two locked storerooms inside the apartment that nobody had entered for years. Apparently, they belong to the state. Both doors were secured with a simple padlock held in place by a few screws—screws you could remove with a basic screwdriver. I was curious, because in old Saint Petersburg buildings, abandoned rooms sometimes hide interesting antiques. I forgot about that place until I dropped out of university. I lost my dorm room, and I couldn’t find an affordable apartment anywhere near my job. After wasting a month’s salary on a tiny overpriced room in another communal flat, I suddenly remembered Anya’s building. And then I had a ridiculous but tempting idea. I grabbed a small bag, a screwdriver, and went there to see if I’d be lucky—or kicked out immediately. I arrived around 3 PM, when most residents should be at work. I waited by the entrance and slipped in when someone walked out. The apartment was, unsurprisingly, unlocked. I stepped in, ready to tell anyone who saw me that I was visiting Anya. But the shared areas were empty. So I pulled out the screwdriver and started removing the screws from one of the padlocks. My hands were shaking, but no one showed up, and eventually the lock gave way. Inside was… just a plain empty storage room. Not a hidden apartment, not a secret chamber filled with antiques. Just four steps wide, six steps long. A dusty bike. An old sewing machine in a wooden case. No window. A small ventilation hole and two electrical outlets—only one of which worked. Bare concrete walls and floor. I decided to see how long I could stay there. The first night felt like an adventure. It got very cold fast, so I ended up spending the night locked in the shared bathroom. After that I went back to the storage room. When the tenants left for work, I tried checking the unlocked bedrooms. I knocked first, and if no one answered, I peeked inside. That same day, I snagged a spare set of three keys from one of the rooms and went back to my rented place. I ordered a sleeping bag, a cheap heater, and a water filter online. The next time I returned to the storage room, it already felt weirdly like home. Turns out Anya had moved out long ago. There are six rooms in the flat, and only three are occupied now: one by a mom and her kid, one by two young women, and one by an old lady who constantly goes out to smoke in the stairwell. I attached a thin wire to the padlock outside so I can pull it back into place from inside and make it look untouched. The storage room is right by the entrance, and nobody pays attention to it, so no one has noticed me. I put a small mattress under my sleeping bag. I fill my water filter from the shared kitchen tap. I enter the empty bedrooms to charge my phone and power bank or use someone’s printer. I shower in the shared bathroom. The heater does a decent job in the tiny room, though I’m still scared that the one working outlet will burn out, leaving me freezing in winter. Every day, I work, eat at a nearby canteen, walk around, talk to people. Then at night I come back to my storage room. I live a pretty normal life—and I don’t pay insane rent. After six months, it honestly feels like this is exactly how things are supposed to be. Upd: OMG, such a huge amount of feedback… I expected people either wouldn’t believe me or would judge me for using AI, and that the post would just get buried. I think I’ve already answered a lot of questions, and they’re starting to repeat. I’ve responded to pretty much everything related to my situation. Honestly, I’ve only used Reddit twice and I’m not an active user, so constantly checking the comments is really draining for me emotionally. And being this open about my situation has been a serious test for my conscience. Please don’t get angry if I ignore your question — I’ve most likely already answered something similar. I’m going to step offline for a while. I’ll check back when I feel ready. My heartfelt thanks to the people who wrote supportive words. I don’t really deserve it, but know this: you’re wonderful people, and your capacity for empathy is a real virtue. submitted by /u/Commercial_Flight912 to r/confession [link] [comments]

UPDATE: AITA for not being “happy enough” that my ill partner gets treatment after he excluded me from the trip?
Original Post: https://www.reddit.com/r/AITAH/s/AOf2AxNQa0 First of all, thank you so much for all the comments. I read every single one of them and appreciated each one deeply. I didn’t reply because I kept getting more and more overwhelmed and sad. Here’s a small update if anyone wants to know. I talked to his brother (and his girlfriend) two days later. I stayed calm and genuinely hoped for a solid explanation. His brother swore he didn’t know my partner had already booked the apartment, and his girlfriend backed him up, saying he hadn’t even requested the days off work. According to them, they have no idea what’s going on. He offered to talk to my partner, but I told him not to. Honestly? I still don’t know what to believe. Since then, I’ve been having breakdowns in the bathroom in secret and making a plan to leave. Maybe that makes me the asshole now, but I don’t want to talk to my partner about this anymore. I feel like I’ll just hear excuses and the same “I can’t talk about this because I’m so ill” line. I’ve reached the point where I truly don’t care anymore about his explanation. I’m just trying to keep my mask on until then. Edit one hour later: I’m trying to stay calm and act normal because I’m scared he might do something drastic or lash out. Probably a far too late edit (one day later), but I want to clarify that we have two joint bank accounts. One we share for fixed costs and some hobbies, and one emergency account. That’s definitely a lot of money a couple of thousand. But we always kept one personal account each as well. So I may lose a hell of a lot of money, but I still have my own account with money. In 10 days the lease starts, and I’m honestly curious to see what actually happens. Thank you again for all the support. I don’t really have family I can talk to, and your comments made me feel less like I’m the crazy one or a cold asshole. Edit: I’ll update this here instead of making a separate post. After a few days, I broke up with him. Weeks later, he died. His death had nothing to do with the planned trip. There will be no further updates. Still, thank you for all the support I received. submitted by /u/Opening-Permit-486 to r/AITAH [link] [comments]

My (20f) friend (31f) got pregnant while homeless yet is excited. What can I do? Is it child abuse?
Here is the context between my friend and her boyfriend before I give the details to my question: She can not take care of her current kids. Even when she lived in my city. They always ran out of food to the point where she would sometimes not eat, even at work. In which it is a physically draining job. I don't know how she would manage that. We are both less than 5 feet tall and I had to eat a second lunch after I started working there. I did my best to help her with food. I offered her half the food I got from the foodbank one day and she said 'We don't eat vegtables ' like hello?? Your kids are 2 and 8 years old. Her felon boyfriend is horrible. He spends so much money on different types of guns and electronics despite them starving. She was talking about upgrading her internet. I tried to talk her out of it and she got defensive and said "We are gamers, so you wouldn't know anything about it." And that was the end of the conversation. Oh yes, and he has a super expensive customizable car. I don't know anything about cars but apparently it is a sports car. She can't even drive it due to the height! And he refuses to sell it. And she doesn't want him to sell it either. He stays at home with the kids but could barely give a shit. His step kid (the 8 yr old), is autistic and pees himself when playing on his switch instead of pausing and going to bathroom. My friend told me she hides the switch as punishment for the whole day but that when she gets home, she finds the kid in his own urine while playing on the device. Meaning her boyfriend gave it to him when she left for work. She told me he can't get a job due to his felon status, but he has a small buisness and does doordash (in which she accompanies him...after the 10 hr shift!!!) When I supported the small buisness (literally dropshipping but whatever), I bought around 50 dollars worth. I never recieved it. They order it after the customer places an order. She got defensive and blamed me. And weeks later she admitted it was their mistake. No refund no replacement. Whatever. Also- they are ALWAYS fighting. Sometimes I randomly recieve calls from her and I answer. It's her and her boyfriend screaming at each other. And she does not acknowledge me. Then hangs up after about 2 minutes. Over a year ago, a co worker offered her a place to stay (with the two kids) but my friend refused for a reason I don't remember. The issue: For some freaking reason, she decided to move about 5 hours away with her boyfriend and kids because of cheaper rent. Before she even moved, she told me they didn't have an apartment secured but that they'd spend two weeks in a tent to save money for an apartment. I obviously knew it was a crap idea, especially with a 2 and 8 year old, but I can't do anything to stop her. Eventually we kind of stopped texting after she moved away. A few weeks ago, we sort of reconnected and she sent me a positive pregnancy text and after, the background was still the same tent. Same area. Girl, what have you been doing the last few months?? The kids are not even enrolled in school. This has got to be some sort of child abuse or neglect. At this point, I don't feel sorry for her anymore. But her kids deserve better. Is there anything I can do? This is definitely child abuse or at least neglect. Or should I just mind my business. I don't know what subreddit to post this in. So please redirect me if this is the wrong one. submitted by /u/EllieDidNothingWrong to r/whatdoIdo [link] [comments]

I cant keep helping my parents but Idk how to stop
I (18F) have just moved into my own apartment its small and under construction so i dont have the upstairs available to me so i just have a makeshift bedroom (no real door but a curtain) a living room and kitchen dining room bathroom ect just to give you an idea of what im working with its awesome and i love it but its not big My parents mom 51 and dad 61 only have to kids left at home E (10m) and P (9m) they both have their own issues mental and physical Since i moved up to my place, I decided to have E on Saturday night and P on Tuesday and or Wednesday nights and that was the routine for a month or two and then some stuff went down and ever since I’ve been having one every single night except for Thursday nights because they go to a Bible study group and they get back late so they just go straight to bed this week. They didn’t end up going to their Bible study night and so I had one that night on my usual night off. I’m extremely tired from my week of work. I work in construction and I work long hours. It’s pretty easy work, but I get tired of it. It’s Friday night and I thought tonight i could finally stand up for myself and say no to having one stay with me but i folded and said yes As I was typing this out, I texted my mom and told her I couldn’t have E tonight even while he was here and asked her to come pick him up I attached my conversation my dad took him home i feel awful for my dad hes a hard worker and does absolutely everything now I i’m sitting here crying and I can’t even enjoy my night off because I feel like a failure for not being able to help The thing is they’re constantly telling me not to parent them whenever I get after them or scold them, but I’m the one doing most of the parenting. It feels like and whatever I complain about one of them’s behavior my mom will say well you don’t have to deal with it if you wanted to you could never have to deal with it again, but I’m the one stuck with it when I am also stuck with it, but she doesn’t seem to want to acknowledge it. Please Reddit I’m at my wits end what do i do? submitted by /u/night_scroller666 to r/WhatShouldIDo [link] [comments]

Painted my bathroom red and I HATE it. What should I do?
Was about to do a last coat to even things up (I know the door looks like shit) but I honestly just can’t stand what we did. Every time I walk in here I’m getting blood red vampire vibes instead of the dark moody vibes I wanted. Bought a new light fixture (pic 3) and I think I hate that too? I will be changing out the lightbulbs today to see if I can make an improvement there: After a night of searching Pinterest for ideas that I might like more, I landed on pic 4 as inspo. If I get a high enough quality burgundy paint, can I go over this without priming? Should I hire a pro and start over completely? Should I abandon the entire idea of red? Is my issue just that I went with too shiny of a finish? I honestly think I should have gone eggshell over semi gloss, but the color is just too much for me. I live in a very MCM home but I love the dark romantic aesthetic and thought this small bathroom would work. Please give me any tips or suggestions to make this better. submitted by /u/thelilspookygirl to r/HomeDecorating [link] [comments]

Help. Small bathroom door needs solution.
We have a small toilet room in the primary bathroom and need a door solution. Can’t use a standard door as it will collide with the bathroom door. Opening is 27” wide. Not enough wall space for pocket door. Ideally we leave it open unless someone is using the toilet. Any ideas welcome. Thanks! submitted by /u/RestfulR to r/Remodel [link] [comments]

Apparently I should live in a shoebox if I don't want kids.
I rent a three bedroom/one bathroom house -- two of those bedrooms are lived in, the third is used as an office and spot for exercise equipment. I have a kitchen, a living room, an upstairs kinda loft space we're working on filling with plants, and a small enclosed porch. That's it. The house is not small, exactly, but it is not really big. It's cozy with just enough room for myself, the person I live with and my cat and I enjoy it. This is apparently a problem. Recently I had some family over for dinner. This is the first time they've been in my house since I moved in. It's a much better living situation than my previous place so I wasn't expecting any criticism. Well, one of my aunts decided to prove me wrong. Her complaint was that the house was too big. It's not the kind of place for two single people to live, but something "for a family". She told me I was better off looking for something small -- a trailer or an apartment, she suggested. She said I should move out so people with kids could live here. I basically laughed in her face and told her that I liked the house just fine and besides that, the housing market where we live is awful and I only barely found this place by the skin of my teeth. There's no way I would be moving even if I hated it because a roof over my head is still a roof. She kinda looked disgusted and asked me if I didn't feel guilty. I told her I didn't and wasn't interested in discussing it further because I frankly thought she was nuts. A few family members then AGREED with her and tried to say well, it wouldn't be a BAD idea to find something smaller, but I shut it down by telling them that all the smaller apartments in the area (which all had waiting lists) had higher rent and didn't allow pets. I asked them if they planned to pay for my moving expenses, help me with rent costs or take in my cat -- no answer to that. And yeah, nobody stayed for long after that and I doubt anyone is getting an invite back. submitted by /u/cheeseballgag to r/childfree [link] [comments]

I found $1,200 while on work release and snuck it into the jail
In 2010 I was a trustee at the county jail. I started off working in the kitchen but had recently gotten approved to be able to work outside the jail. I was assigned to a church run thrift store type place, similar to goodwill but they would help the homeless as well. There were 4 or 5 of us that they picked up every day and we worked in the back warehouse part unloading people's donations and sorting them into their appropriate sections. One day I was sitting down eating lunch just looking around the warehouse and a box of books caught my eye because it was full of brand new looking hardbacks of some of my favorite authors. I started going through the box and noticed a small, thin paperback tucked along the side of the box. I pulled it out and it was some kind of joke book so I went to fan through the pages and noticed a gap near the middle like there was something in between those pages. I flipped it open and saw cash so I slammed it shut and looked around to see if anyone else had noticed, nobody around so I took off to the bathroom. I pulled the cash out and it was 12 very old $100 bills. My heart was racing I had no idea what to do. I eventually decided to tell 2 of the other guys that I was cool with and they immediately wanted a cut so after a little back and forth I gave each of them $300. I kept the money hidden for a few days trying to figure out what to do until one day one of the guys came to me and said the main guy at the store had told him he was going to ask the jail to swap me out with someone else. I was young and dumb so I was always playing pranks and joking around and they'd had enough. I put the cash in a ziploc and taped it to my inner thigh. I was patted down going back in the jail but they barely missed it so I had made it. Once back to the dorm I hid the cash in a stick of deodorant. I went to another trustee that worked all over the jail and he agreed to take it to the lobby and deposit it in my account on the kiosk. Supposedly the kiosk didn't accept $100s so he had the idea to mail it out to his sister and have her deposit it for me. She ended up depositing it in his account so I had to order through him. We lived large for a few weeks but I eventually got too confident and told the officer in charge of the trustees like basically bragging about it and ended up getting banned from working outside the jail again. Tl;dr: found $1200 while on work release, snuck it in the jail, mailed it out of the jail, spent it on snacks submitted by /u/sQuints71188 to r/confession [link] [comments]

What do I do with this weird space in my bathroom? All it does is collect dust. Inside is a bedroom closet but I don’t know why they didn’t just take it to the ceiling.
I have no idea what to do with this dumb space. It’s not easily accessible without a stepladder and the bathroom is so small that it’s a pain to get that in there. It collects dust because of course it does. This house is almost a hundred years old so there’s no storage. I thought about keeping bulk items like toilet paper or paper towels up there, but again, it’s a pain to get up there, and just a box would look so ugly. Any thoughts?? submitted by /u/aoifae to r/whatdoIdo [link] [comments]

Small bathroom ideas
Pretty squishy bathroom. Seperate toilet next to it. My thoughts are to pull the bath out, swap shower and vanity locations. Single pane glass screen (walk in walk out) and simple floating vanity where the shower currently is. Tile the whole thing. Any other thoughts without tearing any walls? That’s a separate idea path. It’s a small space for sure, would appreciate any suggestions Cheers submitted by /u/bitchwheresmybunny to r/AusRenovation [link] [comments]

Costco, I love you… but who is buying a $90 candle the size of a trash can?!
Saw this the other day at the Wheaton MD Costco and I had to share. Normally even if a product isn’t my vibe, I understand the market. This just seems silly! It was literally the size of a small bathroom trash can, even if I wanted to buy one I have no idea where I’d put it, and the wicks look way too small submitted by /u/daisiesarefriendly to r/Costco [link] [comments]

AITAH for loudly confronting my co-worker in front of everyone when she wrongfully believed I had groomed my wife?
I am 30 years old and male. My wife, Jessica, is 22. My wife has a seven-year-old son, Max, whom she had when she was 15 years old. The father, who was her boyfriend in junior high school (and is the same age as Jessica), actually left the state when he and his family learned that she was pregnant. Jessica has no idea where he is, and since her family is well-off, she didn't really need or care for his support. I met Jessica when she was 20, we dated for a year, and then got married when she was 21. I love Max and raise him as if he was my own son. Last month, Max came to my workplace with Jessica in the early afternoon to surprise me with a lunch outing. As they waited for me to finish up a meeting, the front desk secretary, Claire, chatted with Jessica. I wasn't there for the conversation, but Claire was stunned at how young Jessica looked, and Jessica said she was 22. Apparently Claire did a bit of napkin math and came to the following conclusions: (1) Jessica is 22 and I am 30, (2) Max is seven, (3) that means Jessica and I had Max when she was 15 and I was 23. Apparently, from that day on, Claire began gossiping about this. I had no idea what was going on, but I did notice that Claire abruptly changed her attitude towards me, glaring when she thought I wasn't looking or rolling her eyes when I talked to other people. Well, today at work, when I was in the bathroom washing my hands, I overheard Claire gossiping with a new hire about my "underaged wife" outside the door by the water cooler. I left the bathroom and then walked up behind Claire. She turned around and looked like a deer in the headlights at me, and so I announced (loudly), "Hi Claire. You see, I'm not Max's biological father. In all of your gossping to other people, you forgot to consider the most obvious possibility, which was that I am his stepfather. I will, by the way, be reporting you to HR for this." I headed directly to HR and explicitly told them what Claire had said, and the manager (a fellow gossip friend of Claire's) asked if I really wanted to escalate over something so small. I said yes. She then told me Claire is a single mother and relies on this job, and that I shouldn't have embarrassed her in front of the office like that. I insisted on filing a report. After calming down a bit, I feel kind of bad about what I did. Claire cried at her desk and left early. Was I an asshole to approach the issue that way? submitted by /u/Longjumping-Pass-458 to r/AITAH [link] [comments]

1950s bathrooms… ideas?
New house with two (small) 1950s bathrooms. Trying to determine how to best upgrade with potentially keeping all of the tile (floors & walls). I’m personally less attached to the floor tile in the powder blue bathroom than in the teal bathroom… but welcome ideas. submitted by /u/Zealousideal_Bad3426 to r/Remodel [link] [comments]

Home inspector find of the week: moisture behind the bathroom wall, invisible to the nekkid eye. Homeowner found a small stain, had the leak fixed, but had no idea how far the moisture had seeped along the wall. 2 year old home just north of Austin.
