Men’s Necktie History: 5 Ways Ancient Style Rules Are Shaping the 2026 "Loose Tie" Trend
For decades, the necktie was the symbol of the rigid corporate world: a silk noose tightened to the collar, signaling conformity and "business as usual." But in 2026, the pendulum has swung. If you’ve stepped onto a city street lately or scrolled through a high-fashion lookbook, you’ve seen it: the loose tie. This isn't a sign of laziness; it is a calculated style move. We are seeing ties worn with open collars, knots sitting two inches below the throat, and silk blades draped over denim jackets and knit cardigans. To the untrained eye, it looks like a rebellion against tradition. However, as any true student of menswear knows, today’s "rebellious" look is actually a resurrection of rules that are centuries old. At La Mode Men's, we believe that understanding the "why" behind a trend is what separates a well-dressed man from one who is simply following a fad. Here are five ways ancient style rules and historical engineering are shaping the 2026 loose tie trend. 1. From Armor to Ease: The Functional Origin of Neckwear Long before the boardroom, fabric around the neck was about protection, not just presentation. In the 3rd century BCE, soldiers wore neck scarves to protect their throats: then considered a source of physical strength. Fast forward to the 17th century, and Croatian mercenaries in the service of the French king used simple neckerchiefs to hold their jackets together. These weren't decorative knots; they were functional tools. How this shapes 2026: The modern loose tie trend brings the tie back to its original role as a soft, practical layer. By wearing a tie with a lower knot and an open top button, you are prioritizing movement and breathability: just as those original soldiers did. The Modern Rule: Opt for unlined or lightly lined ties that behave more like a scarf. The Look: Pair a silver solid tie with a casual shirt or a chore jacket. This takes the tie out of the "office armor" category and places it firmly into the "functional accessory" category. Master the shift by treating your tie as a piece of soft fabric rather than a rigid requirement. 2. The Cravat’s Lesson: Controlled Asymmetry is the Goal In the 18th century, the cravat was the height of fashion. Unlike the mass-produced ties of the late 20th century, cravats were folded and tied by hand. Because they were hand-tied, no two were exactly alike. There was a celebrated beauty in asymmetry. A man’s ingenuity was measured by how he manipulated the fabric into a unique, slightly imperfect knot. How this shapes 2026: The "Loose Tie" look reclaims this structured imperfection. In 2026, a perfectly centered, perfectly symmetrical Windsor knot feels dated and sterile. Instead, the trend favors the Four-in-Hand: a knot naturally characterized by its slight lean and slender profile. The Modern Rule: Embrace the "dimple" that isn't perfectly centered and the blade that hangs slightly off-center. The Look: Take a red solid tie and tie it loosely over a button-down collar that is left unbuttoned. The contrast between the bold color and the relaxed knot creates an aura of "casual sophistication." True style is found in the human touch, not in factory-standard perfection. 3. The Rule of Proportion: 19th Century Logic in a Casual World By the 1800s, neckwear was everywhere, but it was governed by one strict law: Proportion. As coat lapels widened or narrowed, the neckwear followed suit. This balance ensured that the man’s frame was complemented rather than overwhelmed. How this shapes 2026: Even though we are wearing ties more loosely, the rules of proportion haven't changed. The reason a loose tie looks "cool" in 2026 rather than "sloppy" is that we are matching the tie’s width to our modern, relaxed tailoring. The Modern Rule: If you are wearing a relaxed-fit blazer with wider lapels, your tie should have a classic width (around 3 to 3.25 inches). If you are wearing a slim, modern-fit blue dress shirt, stick to a slimmer tie. The Look: A gold solid tie paired with an unstructured navy blazer maintains a vertical line that elongates the torso, even when the knot is slacked. Choose your tie width based on your jacket’s lapels to ensure your relaxed look remains grounded in classic geometry. 4. The Bias-Cut Revolution: Engineered for Fluidity The most significant technical shift in necktie history happened in the 1920s. A New York tie maker named Jesse Langsdorf began cutting the fabric on a 45-degree angle (the bias) and sewing it in three segments. This "Langsdorf Construction" gave the tie elasticity, allowing it to spring back into shape after being knotted. How this shapes 2026: The loose tie trend relies entirely on this 1920s engineering. Because a quality tie is cut on the bias, it drapes beautifully even when not tightened. It curves with the body and moves as you move. The Modern Rule: Only attempt the loose tie look with high-quality silk or wool ties. Cheap, polyester ties lack the "memory" of a bias-cut tie and will look limp rather than draped. The Look: Use a patterned tie to add visual texture. The way the light hits the bias-cut silk as it hangs loosely creates a sense of depth that a flatly tied knot simply cannot match. Invest in quality construction; a well-engineered tie is designed to be handled and loosened without losing its soul. 5. The "Almost Formal" Code: Negotiating Status Throughout history, neckwear has been a social signal. The cravat signaled elite status; the starched collar of the industrial era signaled professional discipline. Opting for a softer, loosened style was historically seen as the mark of the artist, the bohemian, or the rebel. How this shapes 2026: In 2026, the loose tie is the new "business casual." It sits in the deliberate middle ground between "suit and tie" and "t-shirt and jeans." It says, "I acknowledge the rules of formality, but I am not ruled by them." The Modern Rule: Use the tie as a visual accent rather than a requirement. Think of it as the 2026 version of the pocket square: an optional flourish that proves you put effort into your appearance. The Look: A white solid tie worn under a dark denim jacket is a high-contrast move that screams confidence. It’s sophisticated enough for a gallery opening but relaxed enough for a weekend dinner. Position yourself as a discerning modern man by using the loose tie to communicate that you are "formal...ish" on your own terms. How to Master the 2026 "Loose Tie" Look If you are ready to integrate these historical principles into your own wardrobe, keep these instructional tips in mind: Select the Right Fabric: Stick to natural fibers. Silk, linen, and wool have a natural drape that is essential for a relaxed look. Explore our collection of ties to find the right texture. Mind the Collar: The loose tie look works best with a spread collar or a button-down collar left unfastened. Avoid stiff, formal wing collars. Adjust the Length: Even when worn loose, the tip of the tie should still hit near the top of your belt line. If it’s too long or too short, the proportions will feel "off." Confidence is Key: The loose tie is a statement of ease. If you look like you’re constantly trying to fix it, the effect is lost. Tie it, loosen it, and forget it. At La Mode Men's, we are committed to providing the affordable luxury you need to build a versatile, timeless wardrobe. Whether you are dressing for a high-stakes meeting or a casual urban outing, our curated selection of solid and patterned ties offers the perfect finishing touch. The necktie has survived centuries of change because it is the ultimate tool for self-expression. By loosening your knot in 2026, you aren't just following a trend: you are returning to the original spirit of neckwear: comfort, personality, and effortless style. Master the loose tie trend today and redefine what sophistication means for you. submitted by /u/lamodemens to r/LaModeMens [link] [comments]

Met Gala 2026: Fashion's Biggest Night Under the "Costume Art" Theme
Every first Monday of May, the steps of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art become the most-watched runway in the world. The 2026 Met Gala took place on Monday, May 4, drawing enormous search interest from the United States and dozens of countries worldwide in the days surrounding the event. Global Search Interest According to Google Trends data aggregated by Kiolix Pulse, search interest in "met gala 2026" was distributed as follows: Country Estimated Search Interest 🇺🇸 United States 212,000+ 🇵🇭 Philippines 58,600+ 🇬🇧 United Kingdom 11,500+ 🇫🇷 France 10,200+ 🇨🇦 Canada 6,500+ 🇦🇺 Australia 5,500+ 🇮🇳 India 5,500+ 🇧🇷 Brazil 5,500+ 🇮🇹 Italy 5,000+ 🇲🇽 Mexico 4,300+ 🇪🇸 Spain 3,200+ 🇹🇷 Turkey 2,700+ 🇩🇪 Germany 2,000+ 🇵🇰 Pakistan 700+ 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia 200+ 🇪🇬 Egypt 200+ 🇮🇩 Indonesia 100+ 🇹🇼 Taiwan 100+ The United States accounted for by far the largest share of searches. Substantial interest also emerged across Spanish-speaking countries (Mexico, Spain, Brazil), France, Italy, and Turkey, reflecting the event's genuinely global reach. https://preview.redd.it/1iqnldl4m7zg1.png?width=1408&format=png&auto=webp&s=0277dcc014c6fb03370ebc3dcdad9e91582fceaa This Year's Theme: "Costume Art" The official theme of the 2026 Met Gala is "Costume Art," with a dress code of "Fashion Is Art." The theme is drawn directly from the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute's spring 2026 exhibition of the same name. The exhibition features roughly 400 objects — approximately 200 garments paired with 200 artworks — displayed side by side to highlight the connections between fashion and visual art across history. It also explores representations of the body in art, aging and maternity in fashion, and broader questions of anatomy and identity. Reaction to the dress code has been mixed. Some fashion critics described it as the "laziest ever" for being too vague, while others argued that its open-ended nature could produce the most creatively ambitious red carpet looks in years. Co-Chairs and Key Attendees The 2026 Met Gala was co-chaired by: Beyoncé — Her return to the Met Gala for the first time in a decade generated significant anticipation. Nicole Kidman — Returning as co-chair after previously holding the role in 2003 and 2005. Venus Williams — Serving as co-chair for the first time. Anna Wintour — The longtime organizer of the gala, who this year attended in her first Met Gala since stepping down as editor-in-chief of American Vogue, focusing instead on her roles as Condé Nast chief content officer and Vogue global editorial director. The gala's host committee was co-chaired by Saint Laurent designer Anthony Vaccarello and actress Zoë Kravitz, and included names such as Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Sam Smith, Teyana Taylor, and Angela Bassett. Red Carpet Highlights The red carpet delivered a range of sculptural, painterly, and conceptually driven looks. Kylie Jenner wore Schiaparelli — a dramatic beige gown with a long beaded train, cape, and the house's signature surrealist details — earning praise from fashion commentators for embodying the theme. Venus Williams arrived in a sparkling Swarovski onyx mermaid gown that took direct inspiration from Robert Pruitt's commissioned portrait Venus Williams, Double Portrait (2022), with nods to pay disparity in women's tennis. Lauren Sánchez Bezos wore a navy satin mermaid gown by Schiaparelli, inspired by John Singer Sargent's painting Madame X. Sam Smith dazzled in a black sequin ensemble topped with an elaborate feather headdress by Christian Cowan. Janelle Monáe wore a sculpture-like design from Christian Siriano featuring robotic butterflies on her head and shoulders, weaving together nature and technology. Sabrina Carpenter arrived in a Dior dress made entirely of film, referencing the 1954 Audrey Hepburn classic Sabrina — a film she described as one of her all-time favorites. Emma Chamberlain and Connor Storrie Influencer Emma Chamberlain returned for her sixth consecutive year as Vogue's special red carpet correspondent. She wore a custom Mugler gown designed by Miguel Castro Freitas and hand-painted by Anna Deller-Yee. "There is sort of this watercolor feel, and I love watercolor painting," Chamberlain told Vogue. "But then also there's a creepy, sort of ominous undertone to the gown... And that is very much my taste in art." Connor Storrie, who rose to prominence following the debut of the HBO Max series Heated Rivalry, made his Met Gala debut in a black Saint Laurent suit with a polka-dot high-neck top and flowing scarf. His co-star Hudson Williams also attended, with both actors drawing significant crowd reaction on the steps. The Jeff Bezos Controversy The most contentious storyline surrounding the 2026 Met Gala was the involvement of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos as the evening's honorary co-chairs and lead sponsors. The couple reportedly contributed $10 million for the privilege, announced in February 2026. The backlash was immediate. Critics pointed to Amazon's alleged dangerous warehouse working conditions, the company's $1 million contribution to Donald Trump's 2024 inauguration, and its contracts with federal immigration enforcement agencies as reasons to oppose Bezos's high-profile role at a glamour event. British campaign group Everyone Hates Elon staged several coordinated protests. On the eve of the gala, the group projected boycott messages onto Bezos's Madison Square Park luxury residence and later onto the Chrysler and Empire State buildings. In a stunt referencing claims about Amazon delivery workers being denied adequate restroom breaks, the group hid approximately 300 small bottles of fake urine — each bearing Bezos's face and the message "Boycott the Bezos Met Gala" — inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art before the event. A makeshift installation outside the building also included a sign reading: "The Met Gala VIP toilet. Installed in honor of Met Gala chair Jeff Bezos. Go ahead, it's good enough for his staff." New York City's new mayor, Zohran Mamdani, declined to attend, stating his focus was on affordability issues facing the city. Meryl Streep, Zendaya, and Bella Hadid were also among those absent from the event. With individual tickets priced at $100,000 and a table of ten at $350,000, the optics of the event drew persistent criticism as a symbol of extreme wealth at odds with current economic realities. The controversy drove notable search activity on community platforms: the Philippines alone recorded more than 58,600 searches, a significant portion of which were tied to viral content about the Bezos protest art circulating online. How to Watch The Met Gala red carpet livestream was available via the official Vogue YouTube channel, beginning at 6 p.m. ET on May 4 (7 a.m. KST on May 5). Emma Chamberlain, Ashley Graham, Cara Delevingne, and La La Anthony served as hosts for the broadcast. For Love & Lemons Spring 2026 Is Peak Soft Romance And It Actually Works
The new Spring 2026 collection from For Love & Lemons feels like a shift away from the hyper-minimal, structured direction fashion has been stuck in for a while. This drop leans fully into lace, florals, and soft femininity but without feeling costume-y or overdone. It’s romantic, but still wearable. The brand (founded by Laura Hall and Molly Clements) sticks to what they do best: lingerie-inspired silhouettes that actually move with the body. This season just pushes that idea further. Some standout details: – Cream Chantilly lace with soft puff sleeves and ribbon ties – Blush ruffle maxis that feel effortless, not dramatic – Floral slip dresses with subtle structure (like bust ruching) – Fringe elements that add just enough edge to balance the sweetness The styling also deserves attention. Ashley Glorioso mixes delicate pieces with grounded elements—like pairing lace with rubber boots or airy blouses with straw hats so it never feels too polished or staged. Shot by Carly Dame and modeled by Naja Kirk, the campaign feels more like a captured moment than a fashion shoot. Think open fields, late sunlight, and clothes that look like they’ve already lived a little. What’s interesting is how this collection fits into the bigger trend conversation. While a lot of brands are still pushing “cool” or “edgy,” this goes all-in on softness and doesn’t apologize for it. No irony, no overthinking just texture, color, and ease. Curious what you all think Is this kind of romantic, cottagecore-adjacent style still evolving, or are we hitting saturation? submitted by /u/CinnamonLindy to r/newyorkstyleguide [link] [comments]

April scoops: New flavors and spring trends for 15 ice cream brand. What are you looking forward to this month?
T.S. Eliot opined that April is the cruelest month. But the famed poet never had special ice cream flavors from Jeni’s and Graeter’s to look forward to for dessert. Maybe if he had Flying Pig Tracks or Frosted Sugar Cookie brightening his day, his work would be less filled with disillusionment and spiritual emptiness. For the rest of us, there’s fresh spring pints to hunt down. Here’s what I know about recent flavors and what might be on the horizon from 15 notable ice cream brands, according to emails and social media. Please share any intel you have on the ice cream front. What are you looking forward to in April? Alec’s: Mint is always welcome in spring. Alec’s has a Mint Fudge Brownie flavor out to mark the season. Report back if you’ve tried it. I’m also curious if anyone has bought those damn Culture Cups encroaching on my premium pint space at Whole Foods. Baskin-Robbins: Is anyone tired of the Dubai Chocolate trend yet? Apparently not, as Baskin-Robbins reported shortages in November when it featured its Pistachio Chocolate Bar as the flavor of the month. Me? I’d get it as a double scoop with Cherries Jubilee (with that tasty hint of rum) and make it a spumoni. If like me, you missed Dulce de Leche last month, it should still be around, along with some others that have caught my eye recently: Chocolate Chip Cheesecake, Mom’s Makin’ Cookies and Twix Caramel Crunch. Also new: A version of their famed Jamoca Chip for non-dairy folks. I see Old Fashioned Butter Pecan featured prominent on their web page, too. Speaking of flavors your grandparents love, has anyone seen their Rum Raisin in shops? I am sort of obsessed after trying this flavor courtesy of Häagen-Dazs and want to try another version of it. Ben & Jerry’s: There’s a new flavor out — Honey Graham Latte — that I got a sneak taste of when it was a scoop shop exclusive last month. You can read my review (it’s fine) the latest installment of my coffee project, which features seven coffee-related B&J flavors. You can read that later today over on the main ice cream subreddit. I include one of the new Sundaes, too (Mocha Mood Pie). If it’s any indication of overall quality of the line, I’m not excited to try any others, though the Peanut Butter Blondie one seems to have some decent reviews. Blue Bell: If the release of the Honey Vanilla a month or so back didn’t excite you, try the new Brookie a la Mode. I was about to write this off as more Ben & Jerry’s-ification, but having a rich brown sugar base instead of sweet cream for the brownie and chocolate chip cookie pieces makes it more intriguing. I’ll include it in my next online order. That’s available in both pint and half-gallon (honey vanilla is pint only). It’s been a while since Blue Bell has updated its online shipping site. While there are still some holiday flavors hanging around — if you missed Christmas Cookies or Peppermint Bark they are still there — I noticed some new options available. On the half-gallon front, Tin Roof Sundae and Strawberries & Homemade Vanilla have returned. For pints, spring has brought back Java Jolt, Banana Nut and Rum Raisin (I might get my fix after all). Caffe Panna: You still have a chance to order “The Too Chocolatey?” collection if your answer to that question is Nope. The six flavors are Flourless Fudge Brownie, Malted Cookies ’N Cream, Chocolate Olive Oil Stracciatella, Dark Chocolate Turtle, Goober and Minted White Chocolate. The answer for me: Yes. I’ll pass and take wait to see some fresh options for spring. History suggests a Springs Sweet Pack might drop mid-month, or perhaps there will be something for Mother’s Day next month. Here’s hoping it’s not florals… Clementine’s: This is probably the brightest collection out right now that says spring. The Hundred Acre Woods four-pack pays tribute to the world of Winnie the Pooh and friends. This one is available in their local shops and on Goldbelly. The flavors are: Eeyore’s Birthday (birthday cake), Piglet’s Red Balloon (strawberry with raspberry swirl), Silly Old Bear (amber honey) and What Tiggers Love Best (Malt coconut with chocolate flecks). You can buy these as a collection or in the pick-4 or pick-6 options in case you just want to taste one or two. (Note that there’s a $5 uncharge for the non-dairy Tigger flavor.) If you go that route, consider the lovely Strawberries and Cream flavor for spring. Graeter’s: I’m excited for this one. Graeter’s welcomes strawberry season with the return of its April/May rotational flavor, Strawberry Chip (“ripe, juice strawberries with rich dark chocolate for a perfectly balanced indulgence”) and Flying Pig Tracks, a limited-edition flavor created to celebrate Cincinnati’s annual Flying Pig Marathon (with vanilla ice cream and “chocolate fudge swirled hills and peanut butter cup-filled streets”). Want to make it a bundle? Their Easter pack features this pair plus Lemon Meringue Pie, Mint Chip, Cookies & Cream and Black Raspberry Chip. Notice how every collection seems to feature their signature Black Raspberry? I guess it’s fitting for any occasion. Jeni’s: You can find a trio of highly anticipated new spring flavors — Basque Cheesecake with Brambleberry Jam, Black Tie Tiramisu and Key Lime Pie — in scoop shops and online. I know many of us here are already envious seeing the pictures on Reddit. I’m hoping to see these in my local stores soon. Mid-April will bring a little refresh with Frosted Sugar Cookie (which has been spotted early at least a couple of stores) plus a couple of returning flavors: Sweet Cream Biscuits & Peach Jam (which I enjoyed) and Lemon & Blueberries Parfait (which I have waiting in the freezer). Did those last two really go away at all? Häagen-Dazs: They certainly are moving at a pace that befits the new “Go Slow” collection. My Safeway saw the three new pints designed for consumers to pause and savor the ice cream moment back in January. But some on here are still reportedly waiting for some of the flavors to hit their shelves. I enjoyed all three, including Dark Cherry Truffle and Coffee Toffee Almond. But Peanut Butter Brittle for me is an early contender for best new ice cream of 2026. Also keep an eye out for new novelties. I have trouble keeping track of these, but it looks like stores should already have a trio (3-count Cherry Dark Chocolate and Toasted Coconut Crunch bars and 6-count mini Dulce de Leche bars). For April, Salted Caramel Graham Mini Bars are reportedly making their way to shelves. Leopold's: For those hoping for some floral flavors to welcome spring, consider this Georgia ice cream maker's spring pack on Goldbelly (you can also order through their website). The Japanese Cherry Blossom does sound interesting. The other spring tastes: Thin Mints & Cream, Lavender, Pistachio, Honey Almond & Cream and Chocolate Chocolate Chip. McConnell’s: Cinnamon Sticky Bun (which I recently reviewed) is part of the brand’s Spring Bundle, along with McConnell’s’ newest flavor, Peanut Butter Cookies & Cream, plus Chocolate Hazelnut & Brownies and a couple of older flavors: Pistachio & Almond Biscotti and Mint Chip. Salt & Straw: Their Monthly Menu Series still shows the leftovers of Cereal-sly Delicious. But their Upcycled Food series, called Waste Less, will launch Friday to celebrate Earth Month (no longer just a day!) This year's collection features five flavors created using upcycled ingredients to highlight sustainability and food waste reduction. Of course, don’t expect to pay less than 12 bucks even when there’s scraps involved! The flavors are Chocolate Date Tiramisu Stracciatella, Cherry Red Velvet Cheesecake, Chocolate Malted Potato Chip Cupcake, Peanut Butter & Jelly Pound Cake and Rum Raisin Bundt Cake (vegan). Talenti: I don’t know anything new with this gelato mainstay of grocery aisles. If anyone has tried the two latest flavors that launched in February as “Escapes” — Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch Gelato (“Snowed In” escape) and Paradise Passionfruit Sorbetto (“Sun Soaked” escape) — let us know what you think. I haven’t heard great things about the passion fruit. Tillamook: Strawberry has been a classic flavor for this brand. But given its recent shift to airier bases and fewer mix-ins, I’m curious how much fruit we’ll see in the limited-edition Strawberries & Cream. I’ll wait and hear some reviews on this one. Van Leeuwen: I can’t find much coming up from this brand due to its mercurial online presence. But if you are still interested in the Seuss collection — an exclusive at Kroger stores — I saw my local store still had these flavors last time I was in there. Other recent flavors include Dubai Style Chocolate Cone and Strawberry Matcha Latte. On the novelty front, they have some bon-bons out. I never had a bon-bon, so if anyone has tried these, let us know! submitted by /u/madisonguy76 to r/IceCreamHaven [link] [comments]

2026’s Biggest Plus Size Fashion Trends You Can’t Ignore
You know what stopped me cold the other day. Scrolling past another endless feed of straight-size runway shots. Then bam. A real curve in balloon pants that actually moved with her stride instead of fighting it. Spring 2026 plus size fashion just clicked. Not the usual recycled promises. This time the pieces feel built for bodies that exist beyond sample sizes. Right away the volume hits. Balloon pants lead the charge. They flare out soft yet structured from the thigh down. Think lightweight linen or crisp cotton blends that skim hips without clinging. Pair them with a tucked-in ribbed tank. Suddenly the silhouette balances everything. No more worrying about bunching at the waist after a long sit. The fabric drapes loose enough for easy bathroom stops yet snaps back into shape. History whispers here too. These echo the palazzo pants that ruled 1970s disco floors. Back when curves owned the dance. Now they own brunch lines and office hallways alike. https://preview.redd.it/78sf6xdcp6rg1.jpg?width=2560&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0f762e60fc9c1b965eebabd30c13843e0c5e0198 source: teenvogue.com "They Teamed Up With Model Halle Deneen to Style Looks That Challenge Stigmas About Being Curvy | Teen Vogue" Wide legs follow close behind. Not the stiff kind that pool at ankles. These hug high at the rise then flow free. High-waisted versions cinch without digging. They flatter real torsos by creating one clean vertical line. Toss on a cropped button-down or soft v-neck knit. The look elongates without effort. Practical note though. Check the inseam before buying. Shorter gals might need a quick hem to avoid dragging through spring puddles. Still beats skinny jeans that cut circulation after hour two. https://i.redd.it/xh64u8jlp6rg1.gif source:whowhatwear.com Sporty chic slides in next. Think elevated track pants or utility jackets in soft pastels. Not gym sloppy. More polished with contrast piping or subtle texture. A cropped hoodie layered under a structured blazer. That combo turns errands into statements. One curvy friend told me the side stripes on her new pair stayed put all day. No riding up during grocery runs or kid pickups. Comfort meets polish. It feels like the 2026 answer to athleisure fatigue. https://preview.redd.it/bywcbzbop6rg1.jpg?width=1068&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a0324a03375ec3294be974f63c9e144e4d597fa9 source:themomedit.com Asymmetrical hems bring the drama without fuss. A midi dress that dips longer on one side. Or a top with one sleeve longer than the other. These tricks draw the eye along curves instead of against them. Bold prints amp it up too. Think oversized florals or checkered patterns in electric lavender and sage. They pop against skin tones. Yet stay wearable for real life. No dry-clean-only nonsense here. Most wash fine at home on gentle cycle. Hang dry to keep the shape. https://preview.redd.it/lf3vsnptp6rg1.jpg?width=972&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=32245cec95d7f0e44848a13e6af586f035c56103 source:reviewed.com 10 plus-size spring dresses: Universal Standard, Torrid, and more - Reviewed Quick practical aside. Ever tried a statement sleeve blouse only to wrestle it through sleeves during a midday bathroom break. These 2026 versions use softer shoulder seams. They glide on and off easier. No more tugging in public stalls wondering if the whole thing will shift. Power suits close the loop. Wide-leg trousers meet tailored jackets with just enough structure. Not boxy. Sculpted at the shoulder to balance busts. Add a simple camisole underneath. The whole ensemble transitions from meetings to happy hour. Cultural roots run deep. Tailoring like this nods to 1980s power dressing. Updated now for bodies that refused to shrink. Brands like Eloquii and Torrid nail the fit. Check their latest drops for extended sizing up to 28 or 30. https://preview.redd.it/r9idwijup6rg1.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dae7047de49070d18deea37df64de352865ba5f4 source:marieclaire.co.uk Stylist Insight: I've noticed that empire-seam jumpsuits consistently fit better off-the-rack than waist-seamed versions because the single high reference point removes the torso-length variable entirely. Texturemaxxing rounds things out. Layer a fuzzy knit cardigan over a satin slip dress. Or mix eyelet details with ribbed panels. The contrast adds depth. It celebrates curves rather than hiding them. Real talk. These pieces breathe better in humid spring days. No more sweaty back after a full commute. Before we wrap. One more thing that keeps popping up in my mind. How many times have trends ignored the tuck factor. You know. That moment when you stand up after lunch and everything shifts. 2026 pieces seem tuned for that. Higher rises. Strategic darts. Fabrics with just enough give. Spring hits different when the clothes finally meet you where you are. Not the other way around. submitted by /u/Hunybunnyofficial to r/PlusSizeFits [link] [comments]

What’s actually trending in fashion right now — Spring/Summer 2026 Edition
I’ve been tracking the latest drop from fashion editors, street style reports, and runway recaps — here are the trends that are popping today, not just what’s “supposed to be in” this season: 1. White Derby Shoes Are Taking Over Forget basic sneakers — structured white derby shoes are the standout footwear piece right now. They’ve shown up from Paris runways to street style edits, pairing cleanly with denim or dressed‑up looks alike. 2. Pony Hair Accessories & Textures Glossy, textured pony‑hair materials are trending hard. Think bags, flats, and statement accents that add that textural twist to otherwise simple outfits — it’s a luxe‑meets‑accessible trend. 3. Prom & Party Dress Aesthetics Leaning Bold Young fashion influencers and students are driving prom fashion trends toward corset silhouettes, sparkles, and fitted shapes that balance glamour with personality. 4. High‑Impact Runway Energy Across Fashion Editorial circuits are talking about fresh spring vibes curated by big labels — from striking florals to layered silhouettes and energy‑forward styling. What this actually means for everyday outfits this week: Pair minimalist staples (like trousers or tees) with statement shoes instead of heels or sandals. Try textural accents (pony hair bags, fringe) on simpler outfits to feel more editorial. Even prom dresses and occasion wear are shifting toward bold expression — corsets, fitted cuts, and standout details aren’t just for red carpet. What trends are you already wearing this week? Drop pics or fit descriptions! 👇 submitted by /u/Fantastic_Celery_672 to r/thedressoutlet [link] [comments]

Spring Break 2026 tea: Santa Barbara vs Fort Lauderdale 🌴👀 (vibes, gossip, and beach drama)
https://reddit.com/link/1rtycxd/video/z1lu6asnh3pg1/player Okay, I just got back from bouncing between Santa Barbara, CA and Fort Lauderdale, FL during Spring Break 2026, and the two scenes could not be more different—but both had plenty of stories. So here’s the unofficial gossip column from the sand. Santa Barbara: Chill vibes, quiet chaos Santa Barbara’s Spring Break feels like someone mixed surf culture, influencer energy, and a little bit of low-key chaos. Daytime vibe: lots of vintage-looking bikinis and crochet sets girls in oversized button-downs and cowboy boots on the beach (yes, really) guys pretending they totally surf (some actually do) The interesting part is that Santa Barbara is way more social media heavy than party heavy. Groups filming TikToks at sunset were everywhere. One afternoon at East Beach there were literally three different influencer groups competing for the same golden-hour spot. But don’t get it twisted—there was drama. Rumor floating around: a group from LA rented a ridiculous oceanfront house and threw a party that apparently got shut down twice in one night. By the next morning half the beach knew about it. Also noticed a big trend: minimal bikinis + sheer cover-ups walking along State Street like it’s a runway. Very “cool girl who says she doesn’t party but somehow ends up at every party.” Fort Lauderdale: Full send energy Now compare that to Fort Lauderdale, which is basically Spring Break on maximum volume. The strip along A1A looked like a rolling beach festival. What everyone was wearing: micro bikinis and thong bikinis neon everything body chains and beach jewelry The vibe is less influencer aesthetic and more “we came here to party and get a tan.” One afternoon at Las Olas Beach a spontaneous DJ setup appeared out of nowhere and suddenly there were like 200 people dancing in the sand. Classic Florida energy. The funniest moment I saw: two guys trying to impress a group of girls by doing backflips into the surf. One stuck it perfectly. The other… not so much. Instant beach legend. The big difference If I had to sum it up: Santa Barbara = 🌅 aesthetic 📱 social media moments 🍹 smaller house parties Fort Lauderdale = 🎉 louder beach parties 👙 skimpy swimwear everywhere 🍻 pure Spring Break chaos Both fun, just totally different flavors. The real tea The biggest crossover trend I saw in both places: people dressing like the beach is a fashion show. Micro bikinis, vintage cuts, crochet swimwear, body chains… everyone seems to be treating Spring Break like their personal runway this year. And honestly? It’s kind of entertaining to watch. Curious what everyone else saw If you were at Spring Break 2026: Was Santa Barbara really the influencer capital this year? Did Fort Lauderdale feel crazier than usual? Any wild stories or beach drama? Drop the tea. I know there are way more stories out there. 🍹🌊👀 submitted by /u/funtunes25ffv to r/BikiniContests [link] [comments]

Model-off-Duty Spring 2026: The effortless layering trick taking over Paris right now
Just came back from Paris Fashion Week and something interesting is happening on the streets. Models are ditching the heavy coats for something way more wearable. The spring 2026 model-off-duty look is all about lighter layers. Think cardigans, bombers, blazers instead of puffer jackets. Not quite tank top weather yet, but definitely moving away from winter bulk. One styling trick I kept seeing everywhere in Paris? Button-ups layered over basic tees. Sounds simple because it is. Crisp white shirt over a graphic tee, maybe a blazer on top. Done. Speaking of graphic tees, they're having a major moment. Not the ironic vintage kind, but actual vintage pieces with real history. Harry Styles has been spotted wearing archival Miu Miu and Prada sourced via eBay for his new album press run. When someone with 46 million followers goes full pre-loved, people notice. The sustainability angle here is real. We're seeing independent designers getting the spotlight alongside vintage finds. Patrick Carroll made a custom knitted tee from leftover yarns. The Vintage Showroom in London is suddenly everyone's go-to for denim. What I love about this trend is how accessible it feels. You don't need to drop thousands on a new wardrobe. A good button-up, a few quality tees, maybe hunt for some vintage pieces. The models make it look effortless because it actually is. Anyone else been trying the shirt-over-tee layering thing? Curious if this is hitting other cities or if it's still a Paris thing. submitted by /u/IulianHI to r/Fashion_World_Now [link] [comments]

I analyzed Pantone's fashion color trend report for Spring/Summer 2026
It's almost Spring! I analyzed Pantone's fashion color trend report for New York Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2026. I love the look of this palette and turns out as a soft autumn/soft summer, I had good reason to be drawn to it! The only thing is I think Tea Rose is actually more of a True Autumn... but oh well, I still like it. submitted by /u/Bean-Central to r/coloranalysis [link] [comments]

Trend Prediction vs Fad for Spring 2026?
Has anyone else noticed that low rise/fold-over shorts are just hitting the stores again? Y2K throwback! Is this going to be a big trend for 2026, am I late to the trend, or is this just a quick fad for fast fashion? I noticed Victoria Secret, Edikted, and even Target are dropping low rise, fold-over shorts and tank sets. Are two piece sets in style still too or again, a quick fad? If not, then what do you predict will be in this spring? submitted by /u/thecheddarbiscuit to r/femalefashionadvice [link] [comments]

Coachella weather trends 1999-2025: I analyzed 25+ years of Indio weather data so you don't have to
After combing through weather data going all the way back to the first Coachella, I wondered if any past years looked similar to these first 10 weeks of 2026. We've had a wildly hot-and-cold February, and Indio kicked off March with two scorching all-time highs. Is there any historical precedent to indicate what we can expect? What I found revealed lots of fun facts about 25 years of Coachella weather. And also data to back up that weather is a super chaotic system where you can't predict much of anything with perfect accuracy beyond about 7-10 days. There's some interesting parallels between this year and the whiplash effect we experienced in 2012 and 2025. But the data could just as easily suggest it will be a scorcher across both weekends. Or maybe that we'll end up with a perfectly pleasant weekend 1 and 2 🙃 TLDR: 90% chance of hot weather and cold nights. Bring shade, coconut water, sunblock sunglasses, comfortable shoes, personal fan (hat tip u/Food4Lessy) (Fun fact: 2012 is still on record for both hottest and coldest weather across all 25 Coachellas - reaching a 107°F high on weekend 2, vs. a high of 71°F and a chlily 41°F low on weekend 1. 2025 saw a reverse whiplash with a hot weekend followed by a mild one. Either scenario is equally plausible this year) Coachella Weekend 1 Highs and Lows (1999-2025) Coachella Weekend 2 Highs and Lows (1999-2025) Coachella Weekend 1 and 2 Overlaid Highs and Lows (1999-2025) TEN FUN COACHELLA WEATHER FACTS The 100-Degree Club: Triple-digit heat only occurred at 9 of the last 25 festival years: 1999, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2012, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2025. The Saturday Spike: Historically, Saturday is the hottest day of the weekend. The most extreme Friday-to-Saturday jump for an attended festival happened in 2008, when the high climbed 7 degrees in 24 hours (from 93°F on Friday to 100°F on Saturday). The Weekend 2 Heat Tax: Weekend 2 is usually hotter than Weekend 1. Between 2012 and 2025, Weekend 2 temperatures were consistently higher, often by a significant margin. The Great Reversal of 2025: Last year broke the "Weekend 2 is hotter" trend in spectacular fashion, hitting a blistering 102°F on Friday of Weekend 1. Weekend 2 followed with a comfortable high of only 80°F. The Record-Breaking 2012. 2012 hit both the hottest attended high on record (Weekend 2, 107°F) and the coolest attended high (Weekend 1, 71°F) and low (Weekend 1, 41°F) It's Usually Pretty Warm. Across 25 years, only one attended festival day ever failed to reach a daytime high of 75°F (Saturday, Apr. 14, 2012). The Sunday "Cool Down" Trend. In recent years, Weekend 1 has frequently seen a cooling trend as the festival progresses. In 2024, Friday hit 94°F, but by Sunday, the high had dropped to 77°F, the largest attended Friday-to-Sunday drop on record. The Most Stable Weekend: 2015 Weekend 1 was the most temperature-consistent weekend on record. The high stayed within a 1-degree range for all three days (87°, 88°, 87°). The October Outlier: The inaugural 1999 festival remains one of the hottest in history. Even though it was scheduled for October and for what was hoped to be cooler temps, it reached 105°F, hotter than almost every other Coachella date on record. The Only "Single Day": 2001 is unique as the only Coachella that featured a single day of performances. It hit 96°F that day. Right now, the cold-water La Niña pattern that has been in place is rapidly collapsing, and subsurface ocean temperatures are warming aggressively to usher in a summertime El Niño. When the Pacific Ocean undergoes a rapid phase shift like this right in the middle of spring, it throws the atmosphere into chaos. Meteorologists literally call this the "spring predictability barrier" because the jet stream becomes incredibly wavy and erratic. This rapid El Niño-Southern Oscillation or ENSO transition is what drove the wild 30-degree temperature swings we saw in February 2026. As the atmosphere struggles to reorganize, Southern California gets battered by a tug-of-war between deep, cold low-pressure troughs (which bring unseasonable 60s and wind) and aggressive, expanding high-pressure ridges (which bring 100°F+ heatwaves). The fact that we are in an active La Niña-to-El Niño transition heavily tilts the scales toward volatile scenarios like we saw in 2012 or 2025 vs a more stable year. EARLY COACHELLA 2026 PREDICTIONS BASED ON HISTORICAL JAN + FEB WEATHER PATTERNS Late February 2026 saw a crazy high of 102°F, and the atmosphere is still holding a lot of energy. If the atmosphere fails to stabilize in March, unpredictable weather will likely continue into April with possible hot weather across both weekends, or a massive 20-to-30 degree temperature split with one weekend catching the trough (windy, chilly, sweaters at night) and the other weekend catching the ridge (brutal, 100°F+ desert baking). THIS MONTH WILL BE THE BIGGEST INDICATOR March will be the biggest indicator if the atmosphere is going to settle (or fail to settle) before the festival. Three specific things to watch for this month: IF: THERE'S STEADY MARCH HIGHS IN THE MID-TO-UPPER 80s THEN: LIKELY TYPICAL MID-80s WEEKEND 1 FOLLOWED BY MID-90S WEEKEND 2 When March establishes a steady baseline with daytime highs consistently in the mid-to-upper 80s, and almost no days dipping below 80°F, it could mean the February volatility was just a winter fluke. The jet stream will have likely flattened out and we can likely expect textbook warming weather between Weekend 1 (mid-80s) and Weekend 2 (mid-90s). IF: THERE'S MULTI-DAY STRETCHES WITH HIGHS IN THE MID-90S+ THEN: LIKELY VERY HOT 90°F+ WEEKENDS ACROSS BOTH WEEKENDS When March starts acting like late May with multi-day stretches in the mid-90s or higher, the desert is baking early. This suggests a likely very hot 90°F+ April across both festival weekends. IF: VOLATILE COOL TEMPERATURES IN 70S AND LOW 80S THEN: MASSIVE POTENTIAL 20-30°F SPIKE BETWEEN WEEKENDS 1 AND 2 When March sees volatile cool temperatures in the 70s and low 80s with very few days breaking 90°F, it may suggest a highly unstable jet stream setting the stage for massive 20-to-30 degree temperature splits between Coachella weekends, similar to 2012 or 2025. Right now after the first week of March 2026, it's been a historically hot March already - with new record highs on March 1 and 2 before dipping down into the 80s. The forecast for the next week is in the 70s and 80s before another multi-day stretch of temps in the low 90s. But there's still a lot of days left in March and we won't really know anything with more reliable certainty until the first few days in April. LOOKING AT SIMILAR WEATHER MODELS FROM THE HISTORICAL RECORD SCENARIO 1: The 2004 and 2014 Thermal Lock Early rising temperatures in Feb and March led to an early hot April and highs in the 90s. 2004 (May 1-2 | Actual festival dates): 99°/53° | 103°/60° (Apr. 10-12 | Not the actual festival dates): 95°/61° | 90°/49° | 92°/42° 2014 W1 (Apr 11-13): 96°/64° | 91°/65° | 90°/62° W2 (Apr 18-20): 87°/61° | 91°/66° | 94°/58° SCENARIO 2: The 2012 Whiplash When volatile February weather persists into March, a highly unstable jet stream can set the stage for massive 20-to-30 degree temperature splits between Coachella weekends, similar to 2012. 2012 W1 (Apr 13-15): 76°/51° | 71°/41° | 80°/51° W2 (Apr 20-22): 104°/57° | 107°/59° | 104°/60° SCENARIO 3: The 2025 Reverse Whiplash While 2012 saw a freezing Weekend 1 followed by a blistering Weekend 2, 2025 proved the exact opposite is just as likely to occur when the atmosphere is unstable. In 2025, after a wildly volatile February, April arrived with a vengeance early on, only to collapse by Weekend 2. 2025 W1 (Apr 11-13): 102°/58° | 98°/73° | 96°/58° W2 (Apr 18-20): 80°/60° | 86°/50° | 88°/44° SCENARIO 4: The 2016 and 2022 Atmospheric Correction This is perhaps the most reassuring scenario in the data. Both 2016 and 2022 had an extremely volatile, hot-and-cold February but by the time April rolled around, the jet stream flattened out and the desert completely stabilized. If 2026 follows the 2016 or 2022 models, the February whiplash was just a seasonal anomaly, and April will return to the classic, textbook Coachella weather pattern - with weekend 1 highs resting comfortably in the mid-to-upper 80s, and weekend 2 pushing into the mid-to-upper 90s. 2016 W1 (Apr 15-17): 85°/65° | 89°/58° | 92°/53° W2 (Apr 22-24): 94°/68° | 91°/66° | 92°/54° 2022 W1 (Apr 15-17): 88°/62° | 90°/64° | 93°/56° W2 (Apr 22-24): 78°/59° | 86°/54° | 90°/50° So fam, which scenario's got your vote for 2026? *************** DATA NERD UPDATE ON METHODOLOGY Fri., 3/6 - 12pm u/andhelostthem had a great flag on some data inconsistencies. When looking closely at historical climate data across Riverside County, you'll quickly realize that long-term weather tracking is far from a perfect science. The region's historical record is a patchwork of dozens of local stations—from Palm Springs to Mecca—many of which have wildly varying, overlapping periods of record. Some stations operated for only a few years in the 1970s before being decommissioned, while others have been tracking the desert heat for over a century. And there are often gaps in the historical record, due to things like temporary power outages, network outages and severe dust storms. Previously I tried to rely on weather data from the closest NOAA weather station - which would be the Indio Fire Station, only 3 miles north of the festival grounds. The problem was that it has significant data gaps overlapping with Coachella days so I pulled in missing data from the next closest station, the Desert Resorts Regional Airport station in Thermal, CA - about 5-6 miles southeast of the polo fields. That station has almost 100% coverage dating back to the 1950s, but it introduced inconsistencies in data measurement both because of weather station location and also that each stations records similar but not exactly the same temperatures. To ensure data consistency across all 25 years, this analysis was updated using only the official NOAA weather station at the Desert Resorts Regional Airport. Because the airport consists of heat-absorbing asphalt and bare desert, its daytime highs may skew a few degrees slightly hotter, and its nighttime lows slightly colder, than what campers actually experience on the heavily irrigated grass of the Empire Polo Club. However, this dataset provides the most optimal and unfragmented look at the extreme weather swings of the Coachella Valley over the last two decades. submitted by /u/mykeyhope to r/Coachella [link] [comments]

Weekly Recap | February 26, 2026
COMMENTS ON THIS POST HAVE BEEN LOCKED. PLEASE SEE THE MOST RECENT WEEKLY RECAP STICKIED AT THE TOP OF R/HELP Welcome to this week's Weekly Recap, where I recap the week that was! It's still winter, but the weather has been unseasonably pleasant lately. Can't wait for spring, though. But let's not wait any longer to start the Recap! Here we go! NEWS AND ISSUES The r/all experiment has concluded and the decision was made to remove r/all. I'm so sorry. =/ Reddit is leaning toward simplifying your experience to make it more personalized and relevant to your subscriptions and interests. I know some of you have some pretty strong feelings about this and I totally get that! Feel free to leave comments on this post. I will continue to pass along constructive feedback to that team. Even with the removal of r/all, you can still visit the r/Popular feed to see trending content or the Latest feed to see the most recent conversations across Reddit. Side swiping has also been removed. I'm also sorry about this one. The most recent version of the app is 2026.07.0. You may be seeing community themes on the apps. If you do not want community themes, you can turn those off! Go into your settings and it should be under "View Options". This was mentioned in the most recent Changelog here. Translation options for some languages are currently unavailable for some folks. We replied to a post here about this. Reddit is in the process of improving/tweaking certain supported languages, so some language may be unable to be translated during this transition period. PLEASE REPORT RULE BREAKING CONTENT If you see content in r/help that breaks the rules of r/help, please use the report button. You do not need to engage with those users unless you're going to redirect them to where they can actually get the help that they're looking for. But regardless, please report rule breaking content. Reporting content that breaks the rules helps us keep r/help free of spam and off-topic posts, and that allows users who really need out help to more easily get it. The mods can't see everything all the time, so reporting content is a great way to surface it to the mods so that they can deal with it. No one likes a spammer! CURRENT EXPERIMENTS In an effort to make this Recap a little easier to read and a little faster to get through, some sections will be moved to the wiki where they will be updated weekly along with the Recap. Current experiments can be found here. Reddit sometimes runs experiments. These experiments tend to last between 4-6 weeks, though they can go longer or end sooner. While there isn't a way to opt out of experiments, feel free to leave constructive and specific feedback in this post and as I've mentioned about, I'll be happy to pass it along to the team in charge. COMMON ACCOUNT ISSUES In an effort to make this Recap a little easier to read and a little faster to get through, some sections will be moved to the wiki where they will be updated weekly along with the Recap. Common account issues can now be found here. These are things like hacked accounts, NSFW accounts, suspended accounts, etc. I'm also including "Changes to Reddit" in this section as well. BUGS ROUNDUP - COURTESY OF THE COOLEST CAT ON THE BLOCK, CORRECTSCALE! [iOS] Some users are reporting that the keyboard is cutting off text when you're trying to type comments, or edit long text posts or drafts for some users. This is being looked into, so no fix yet. [Android] Some users are seeing the "Join" button in a community that they have already joined. This is also being looked into. [Web] Sometimes, the menu links on the wikis don't go anywhere! This joins the other bugs that are being looked into. [Android] And finally, some custom feeds are a little boing-y and snapping back up to the top in quite the slingshot fashion. Guess what? It's being looked into. WEEKLY STATISTICS (BASED ON THE PAST SEVEN DAYS) 1,081 posts. That's only up 31 posts from the 1,050 we had last week. 4,152 comments. That's up 288 from last week's 3,864 comments. 1.2 million views. That's up 90k views from the 1.1 million views last week. Once again, fewer posts, but more comments! Lots of help in the posts! HELP THAT HELPS HELP R/HELP - DELETING ACCOUNTS Let's talk deleting accounts this week! There are times when a user may want to delete their account. You can do this from the desktop site or from the app. If it fails on the app, try the desktop site and that should work better. To delete your account from the app, log into the account, tap your profile avatar, tap Settings at the bottom, tap Account Settings at the top, tap Delete Account at the bottom. From there, you'll see a message that says "Once you delete your account, your profile and username are permanently removed from Reddit and your posts, comments and messages are dissociated (not deleted) from your account." If you'd like to know more about that, you can click "Learn more" and it will take you to this Help Center article. To delete your account on the desktop site, you can click your profile avatar, then Settings, and then scroll down to where you can click "Delete account". You'll get a pop up which will require you to enter your username and password, as well as a checkbox to click in order to delete the account. From old Reddit, you can go to https://old.reddit.com/prefs/deactivate/ and delete from there. If the other methods are not working, deleting your account from old.reddit.com is the workaround. Reddit is unable to delete an account on your behalf. Once your account is deleted, that's it for the username! Reddit does not allow for the recycling or reuse of usernames, so no one else (including you) will be able to claim that username or use that account after it has been deleted. To summarize that Help Center article, when you delete your account, your content is NOT DELETED. If there is content on your account when your account is deleted, the content will remain, but the username will appear as [deleted]. The content will only be accessible with a direct link and will not appear in Reddit search. Deleting your content does not delete other users' content! If there are comments on your post from other users, that content will remain. If you want your content to be deleted, you will need to delete your content individually BEFORE YOU DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT. There is not a way to do this all at once. There may be some third party apps out there that will do this for you, but Reddit does not endorse or support any of them. Reddit is unable to delete content that was on your account after your account is deleted. While content from deleted accounts will not appear in Reddit search, that content may continue to show up in cached search engine results for some time after deletion. This is due to the way search engines work and is not something Reddit can control or force to update for you. The deleted information will eventually fall out of the results but we have no way of predicting how long that may take. However, Google has made it easier to request the removal of personally identifiable information and you can read about that in their help center. HELPINGEST HELPERS HELPING HELP R/HELP And here we are, seeing who helped help r/help by helping help! Love this part! Thank you to so many people out there! Studied every spring essentials list, so you don't have to: here’s what *actually* works in 2026.
It’s wild how many “men’s spring essentials” lists are just recycled Instagram aesthetics from 2017. Every year it’s the same beige tee, white sneakers, and some “light wash jeans” thrown in like it's revolutionary. After digging through the noise on YouTube, TikTok, and style blogs, one list actually stood out , Courtney Ryan’s “Top 10 Spring Essentials For Men 2021.” It’s been 5 years, but her tips still hold up. That said, fashion moves fast. So here’s an updated, no-BS breakdown of what actually matters in 2026 , curated from real data, expert takes, and wearable trends. This list blends the best of Courtney Ryan's suggestions with insights from menswear experts, fashion psychology, and practical wearability – not just what looks good in a lookbook. Here’s the real breakdown: Lightweight overshirts > hoodies Overshirts (like chore coats or shackets) give structure without bulk. They’re one of the most versatile pieces you can own. as seen in GQ’s 2024 Men's Style Report, the chore jacket is “the new cardigan” for transitional weather. Loafers or retro sneakers > basic white sneakers White minimalist sneakers have been done to death. Try retro runners (like Adidas Samba or Onitsuka Tigers) or suede loafers for texture and personality. Tailored drawstring trousers > skinny jeans According to The Business of Fashion, relaxed silhouettes are dominating in 2024. Tailored joggers or drawstring trousers give you movement and comfort without looking sloppy. T-shirts with texture > plain tees Go for slub cotton or waffle textures. Behavioral research from the Journal of Consumer Psychology found that tactile-rich fabrics increase perceptions of effort and confidence. Earth tones > pastels Courtney Ryan suggested neutrals, which still rock, but deeper earth tones like olive, rust, and taupe provide more dimension and look more intentional. Casual button-downs > polos Oxford cloth or linen shirts worn open over tees beat polos any day. They’re sharper and more flattering across body types. Style consultants like Ashley Weston repeatedly call this the most underused layering trick for men. Fragrance > flashy accessories A subtle spring fragrance leaves more impact than bracelets or chains. Experts in scent psychology (see The Smell Report) show fragrance significantly affects how people perceive attractiveness and confidence. Crewneck sweatshirts > hoodies Hoodies scream “high school.” A fitted crewneck in French terry fabric offers a more grown-up option while keeping the cozy vibes. Sunglasses that fit your face > trendy frames Don't chase TikTok eyewear trends. Opt for frames that match your face shape and skin tone. Esquire’s 2024 accessory guide recommends tortoiseshell and muted gold as safe bets. Confidence and grooming > logos and brands The best spring essential? Sharp grooming. A clean haircut, trimmed beard, and fresh skin beat any name-brand fit. As dermatologist Dr. Sam Ellis explains, “good skin care is the foundation of any great style.” Most influencers push aesthetics, not utility. This list is about what you’ll actually wear, what fits into your daily life, and what low-key elevates your presence. Real style isn’t about standing out loudly. It’s about showing up looking like you get it. submitted by /u/MotherAnt8040 to r/MenOfPurpose [link] [comments]

I attended 10 London Fashion Week shows – this is the one trend you need to know
London Fashion Week took over the capital this week. Concluding with this evening’s Burberry show, highlights of the spring/summer 2026 showcases have ranged from Naomi Campbell’s supermodel turn on the Richard Quinn runway, Jerry Hall roleplaying as a “diva psychic” at Completed Works and Lola Young performing at the star-studded H&M show. Opening night saw Harris Reed unveiling “The Aviary” with sculptural silhouettes, platform shoes and a splashing of tiger print defining a collection that mirrored the moody atmosphere of St Pancras’ gothic bar. Next up was arguably the hottest ticket in town, with H&M’s high street spectacle seeing the likes of Romeo Beckham, Iris Law and Lila Moss wear this season’s biggest trends down the catwalk (think leathers, slouchy boots and sharp tailoring). Volatility Farming for Apes: How I’m Building my Stack With Kenny’s Money
Hi everyone, bob here. This post is going to be about options and a particular trading strategy that I prefer and want to share with you for educational purposes only. No information i provide here or elsewhere is to be construed as financial advice... without further ado, here's how to actually grow your stack, upgrade your strategy, and steal from shorty to fund your long thesis EDIT: Due to some of the comments and DMs i'm getting, I want to edit the post to make this crystal clear up front... I'm sharing what I do , and discussing it for educational purposes. What people do with this information is their own business (which i hope is being inspired to learn about options and find out what strategy works for them) If you are on of those folks that are just learning about options this strategy is absolutely not for you - don't be jumping into any form of calendarized options strategy as your first rodeo. TA:DR: This post is about how to finance long‑dated GME LEAPS by systematically selling short‑dated calls into IV spikes, turning chop into cash flow. Stop lighting candles for MOASS. Start making Kenny pay you to wait for it. This is part of a larger options educational series.... It's All Greek To Me: An Introduction to Options, How They Work, And The Power of Leverage: Basic knowledge of what options are, the greeks, and a quick example of how it compares to buy and hold. Deep Dives Into The Most Important to Understand Greeks: It’s All Greek To Me: Understanding Delta, The Fickle Bitch It’s All Greek To Me: Falling for Theta, The Banana Munching Temptress It’s All Greek To Me: Gamma, The Gremlin Child of Delta and Volatility Vega It's All Greek To Me: Options Level 1 - Covered Calls & Basic Bitch Options Trading: Basic bitch options strategy: the covered call. We go in depth on what it is, and come to a nice climax with an example of how to run one and what you can do to close it out when the time comes, depending on what happens with the underlying stock. It's All Greek To Me: Volume Tre. Leveling Up - I'll Call the shots on where to Put your Spreads: Catching up on Level 1 changes since last post, and delving into many basic and more advanced deployments of options and spreads. It's All Greek To Me: Breaking The Wheel: This alternate adventure is a look at the popular options strategy: the wheel. I explain what it is, how to run it, and how I think I've found a better option that is more capital efficient, and bears less risk over time. An Overdue Options Education by Your Local Options Pariah 🤙: This is an overdue attempt to reach the superstonk community and restart their options education outreach program, hosted by yours truly. Related Options Strategy Reading: Wheeling GME for 3 Years: Using market makers to buy my shares (Crybad) Volatility Farming for Apes: How I’m Building my Stack With Kenny’s Money You’ve already done what most investors never will: you’ve bought and maybe even locked up your shares (DRS), and unplugged from Wall Street’s bullshit (zen Ape)... That took time, effort, and a conviction most people just don’t have. So you think the float is locked… Now what? Now is not the time to rest on your laurels and tell everyone the DD is done. You haven’t won shit. Kenny is still doing Kenny things, and MoASS hasn’t happened. What’s worse is, as time ticks by, the shorts have more and more opportunity to uncoil the spring. It’s about goddamn time folks stop thinking they can sit here idle, chant DRS, and stroke eachother’s purple circles and just wait as if MoASS is a foregone conclusion - it isn’t. You can’t sit there and tell me being zen and DRS is the way when it’s done fuckall for the stock since the inception of the fucking movement… Not saying it’s bad, just saying it's not the way. It’s about goddamn time that apes stop being simple guardians of the float and become savage fucking predators of the premium. We need to push that spring back into the fucking box, get it nice and tight (giggity) and, when the time is right, uncoil the fuck outta it with some violent price appreciation. So let’s please stop pretending that hodling alone is a strategy. It’s not. It’s faith. It’s fine if that’s your thing, but I’m not here to light candles and chant for tendies. I’m here to build. I’m here to harvest. And I’m doing it with options (gasp), particularly calendar spreads, and good old-fashioned volatility farming - all while forcing Kenny to indirectly bankroll my long GME position. Yes, really. I’m using the enemy’s weapons against him…. Here’s how. https://preview.redd.it/7msy3lznwq1f1.png?width=1536&format=png&auto=webp&s=d77130ea0846f42848e7326e526fe7a5d8beed26 The Mission: Build a Portfolio That Pays You to Believe This isn’t about abandoning DRS or changing minds, It’s about growing, adapting, and learning... It’s about weaponizing your autism, and solidifying your conviction. You stay long. You stay committed. But instead of sitting idly by, munching crayons, always looking to the next hype date (manana), and waiting for a liquidity crunch to maybe spark a squeeze… you get paid every time Kenny tries to shake us out, and you take his fucking money and use it to build your pile. I’ve gone from xx in 2021 shares to xx,xxx shares with Kenny's money paying my way. This method I’m about to share has the following attributes: Holds core GME shares like a proper cultist 😉 Leverages volatility to reduce cost basis Uses premiums from short-dated options to buy more long-term conviction plays or just grow your portfolio, or use as income Turns dead chop into capital Turns meme spikes in to profit generating opportunities Does it all without giving up the moonshot I’m taking Kenny’s money, recycling it into long calls, stacking premium, and then buying more GME, data, hookers, and whatever else I see fit - all on their dime. Thanks btw Kenny, this last b*tch was👌…I’m growing fucking trees and using Kenny’s tears as fertilizer. https://preview.redd.it/ovuefz1qwq1f1.png?width=721&format=png&auto=webp&s=27abd94606d8da6ba562fae3bfa2c48c80878640 The Strategy: Calendar Spreads, But Make Them Savage This is an advanced strategy and not for the uneducated. If you haven’t done shit to improve your education on options these last going on 5 years, I’m disappointed, but I got you covered. To get you started there’s this educational series: It's All Greek To Me: An Introduction to Options, How They Work, And The Power of Leverage is a classic, imho ;). Link is pinned in my profile but not allowed here because of reddit filters creating an echo chamber. Also, I should mention here that every investment carries risk, and options, being a leveraged derivative of the stock, carries leveraged risk. An example breakdown of loss and subsequent needed gain to recover to your starting point is here. It’s one of the fundamental ah-ha moments for my trading and risk management journey. I’ll be adding a whole post later on risk management. But study this first. https://preview.redd.it/2ol5fsuvwq1f1.png?width=690&format=png&auto=webp&s=053898a0510dbd22c072bae64f27baa91a3952b2 When you’re ready, here’s a step by step process to harvest Kenny’s tears: Be patient Wait for a good entry. Most good trades are made when they open. A good entry for this strategy is when Implied Volatility (IV) is low, relative to the last 6 months to a year Historical Volatility (HV) for your target expiry range group. IDGAF what the stock is doing, but if it’s flat or starting to rebound, that’s perfect. If trending down, it can eat some of your premium, so in those situations, I like to ease into the position by buying it over a couple weeks so I don't miss the boat, but can mitigate the damage of the downs while I get into position and plant the seeds. Pick your strike I like to use a data driven approach to pick the strike that I won’t go, but have found that OTM strikes work best as they yield the greatest vega per dollar deals. This needs to be balanced with realistic expectations on where the spikes will land in the time frame. Too high and you won’t be able to safely harvest your crop. Too low, and you’re going to be able to harvest, but the yield will be less. OTM options are risky, and if you don’t understand that, Please learn and paper trade before doing anything with this information. Get long and go hard Buying calls to start the process - Long-Term Equity Anticipation Securities (LEAPS), with expiration at least 12 months out. Again, do this when IV is low to get your best results. You’re loading the cannon before the next meme war. Remember patience? Now is the time to wait. Like any good farmer, you have enough patience to wait until your crop is ready to harvest. If you pick it too soon, it’ll taste like nothing, or not even be edible. Wait until that shit is ripe for the taking to harvest. You will thank me later, or at least your portfolio will. For the more attentive (impatient) farmer If you want to put your money to work more often, you can accept more risk (of getting your leaps called away or realizing a loss) by selling against the longs regularly. Fair warning though, if you do this, you WILL be caught with your hand in the cookie jar when that spike does eventually come… so maybe keep some in the chamber for those events and average out. Rolling is your friend when caught, as these rips are historically short lived relative to other things. Losses are real when rolling though, so there’s that, and the opportunity cost of not being able to harvest the volatility on the rip in favor of picking up pennies in front of a steamroller 👀 Crybad 😉(i do this too on my cash account btw - made about 30% realized return last month using a strategy similar to his described in this post: Wheeling GME for 3 Years: Using market makers to buy my shares). His wheeling is doing fucking amazing. I think last we talked about it, he was up something like 193% in the last 12 months… when the stock had done some shit, but was also just kinda drifting down overall… If you’re going to be impatient and sell calls regularly, I would highly recommend looking into his wheeling strategy - it carries less fundamental risk too if you like the stock.. He too, is a collector of GME that has chosen to weaponize his autism and become a predator of premium. Ask him for details, but I believe he too has built an impressive stack from money harvested from Kenny’s pockets. Watch the dildo grow, no FOMO https://preview.redd.it/bcvsdb0ywq1f1.png?width=1003&format=png&auto=webp&s=c30bfe0b6dbe336e20cbbb130e10814b9a746fb7 The great thing about this strategy of setting up volatility farms, is it requires ZERO fucking ability to read a goddamn thing,, and the confidence in the play that it will do what you expect it to do (have volatility spikes). When they happen, you will be tempted to fomo in, and buy weeklies to ride that giant green dildo with your ape brethren to Valhalla, but that’s not what we’re doing here. We’re NOT gamblers. We’re farmers - patient ones that will wait until the stonk does the spiky thing and shows some sign of slowing, weakening, or volatility contraction. THIS is when we capitalize. Sell your pick of expiration at a strike equal to or above your long options. If you’re feeling lucky, you can ease into these over a few days or weeks, depending on the run to get the best returns. I like to sell weeklies, following the price action on the run up, and then something up to 30 days out when I think the run is ending in order to harvest the maximum premiums I can. The trick here is to not sell a call that will be assigned, as it will force you to either buy shares at market and sell them at the strike (a loss), or sell or exercise your long options (a bigger loss for this strategy). Do it right, and you’re going to be absolutely raking in the crops while everyone doing the buy hold drs “strategy” just watches their gains spike and then evaporate. Reinvest and compound I generally don't spend those premiums, I buy more long calls, sometimes buy dinner for my wife’s boyfriend, or scale in on other asymmetric bets. I build my portfolio with house money. It’s a snowball that will very quickly become very large, and gain momentum and impact on everything it touches. I’m no DFV, but that motherfucker can definitely attest to the snowballing effect of compounding his gains. This Is How You Take Control Every time I sell a call and harvest that sweet premium, I’m watering my volatility farm. Each long-dated, far OTM LEAP I scoop up during low IV seasons is a seed that's planted deep in the fertile soil that’s moist with Kenny’s tears. They want me to wither, to fold under the weight of fear and liquidity traps. But I’ve got patience, discipline and I’m not being farmed for premium thrown at dreams of moass, I’m the fucking farmer now and I’m cultivating a fortress of premium, rooted to withstand the droughts, the drawdowns, and the barren low-volume wastelands that different market conditions can muster. And when the next frenzy hits, and it will, this vega vineyard is going to bear fruit the size of my wife’s boyfriend’s ball sack (he should really get that checked). https://preview.redd.it/oe1kk25kbo1f1.png?width=1002&format=png&auto=webp&s=4e46aee6cdfe3c9a8e6f525603e2f9bce9881f89 Real Life Example from Last Year’s Volatility Bought Jan 2025 $25 calls for $540 (edited 2026 --> 2025 typo. thanks ape!) Sold various strikes up to 30 DTE into volatility events to harvest a total premium of $2100 per set (xxx sets) Cost basis on the leaps ended at around - $15, meaning Kenny paid me to go long GME Closed the LEAP for about $8 near expiration in Jan 2025, realizing a total profit of $2460 per set, or about 450% gains in 18 months Waiting for my next opportunity, and loaded up on calls for 2026 and 2027… practicing patience now, and loading the boat a bit more in this low IV environment. All while holding a core long GME position untouched This was accomplished during a time frame when the underlying stock netted about -10% from where it was when I entered the original long positions. If I just had bought and held, I would have seen my account drop deep red, then be green, then be red again, then be green again, then be red again… all the while losing the time value of money while being strapped into a roller coaster I have no control over. Fuck that! I’ll ride this ride if I want to and get off when I want to get off, all while staying locked in with my tickets to the moon in case the rocket does finally launch one day. It’ll be nice AF, but I'm not counting on it, and it seems like a prison to me where the walls are bars made of pure hopium. A Volatility Farmer’s Notebook. GME is a volatility goldmine, and is one of the few meme stocks I believe actually has a future. Options move even when the stock doesn’t, and you can capitalize on those moves. Every time IV ramps up or spikes, it’s harvest season, and this happens at least 4x a year around earnings - more with things like GME, baskets, and shorts Selling into chaos and conquering FOMO is a key to harvesting fat premiums. My best medicine for FOMO is always hodling enough shares long and strong and unburdened by CCs that I’d walk away happy from a MoASS event. Farming volatility has presented cash flow to grow and harvest vegaCrops, expand the farm, and keep building. This isn’t a moon-or-bust strategy. This is staying long and making sure I get paid while I wait. I’m not hoping for Valhalla. I’m building the ship myself. What You’re Really Doing In simple terms, and this would apply to the strategy, outside just my favorite stonk... It works in all volatility machines. By deploying this strategy, you are: Reducing your cost basis of leaps Generating repeatable income Building conviction in positions across your portfolio while growing the fuck out of it Hedging your risk exposure while still staying long Stay active, engaged, and continually educating yourself Even more than that, you’re (re)claiming your role as an investor (you may never have actually invested - only aped in). You are refusing to be a passenger in your investments, Rejecting your a prison of hope that cripples your cash flow potential, and becoming a more active and effectual participant in this financial war on shorts. Weaponize your autism, however smol it may be. It can only grow from here, and I, and others like me, are here to help you. This is Gorilla Warfare https://preview.redd.it/ccmhn542xq1f1.png?width=765&format=png&auto=webp&s=6b4c095f1001ec0ea61a8e016f7fec927daf6d33 I’m not just holding shares and praying, I’m building a machine… one that extracts value from this rigged market, reaching deep into Kenny’s sticky pockets and yanking capital back into our hands. Whether GME hits $6.90 or $420, I’m taking his fucking money and using it to take even more. Every short, every panic sale, every fear-driven drop just feeds my next position. Each cycle, becoming bigger, stronger, and more lethal.. This is financial warfare. And volatility is my battlefield. Kenny wants you docile. He wants you Predictable. He wants your shares locked in DRS so his algos can front-run every computershare buy with surgical shorting. He wants you trapped in a drawdown, begging for a rocket that may never come. I want you to be dangerous, educated, and liquid, ready to strike… A relentless expanding force bleeding him dry and compounding the pain. You want a thousand cuts? Fine. But we can cut deeper, more often, and more profitably. I’m not just long, I’m leveraged, I’m learning, and I’m building a goddamn empire from the money they swore I’d lose. Let’s fucking go. submitted by /u/bobsmith808 to r/Superstonk [link] [comments]
