Why would you ever buy a Ferrex tool from a shop that stocks them once a year, and if you need to buy a different tool that uses the same ecosystem you can't?

I find it odd , stocks have hit very high overbought levels for weeks now right ? And every semiconductor thread has people talking about how much more they gonna buy and how much higher this is going ,.. nobody in their right mind would buy at these prices . Can’t buy anything in the market .

I own 0 AMD, MU, SNDK but lots of INTC... Why, because they are cyclical, but INTEL has fab, which is more valuable. I would rather buy TSMC when it drops instead of those pumped-up cyclical stocks.

We will know at the end of the month how much shorted volume were eliminated after smoothing for all the many random events. I predict, at least 5M will be eliminated bring the current volume of 46 million to 41M.

The Iran war was meant to be a quick expedition. It’s now going to be the collapse of the AI play. No matter what, oil is going to be significantly more expensive. The fastest and easiest option is the US backs out of the war. If they do, Iran enacts a toll, and a large portion of oil begins switching from dollar trades to yuan (or some other currency China chooses). The less easy option is Trump commits to the war. In that case, Iran oil infrastructure is destroyed, as well as the oil infrastructure of most of the other Gulf nations. Then the waterfall begins. Higher gas prices mean more expensive energy. Expensive energy means inflation, which means rate hikes. AI stocks suffer. At the same time, they need to run data centers off more expensive energy into what should be the hottest summer ever recorded. Opex balloons 3-4x on already razor thin margins. This delays AI training and makes AI usage less sustainable. The result? Dead earnings off AI. Why do you think every data center stock is tanking today? Now all of this ignores the effects on the treasury market. Gulf states that buy US treasures have less money to do so. If they try to force US rate cuts, the treasury market spikes and US debt goes from already insolvent to impossibly insolvent. The dead nail would be if China decides it time to take Taiwan while the US is stuck in a protracted land war. It would mark a complete collapse in the faith the world has in US strength, and a drop off of the US dollar and treasuries as safe havens. 80% of my portfolio is in the s&p but I want to be more aggressive while I'm younger and knew I could afford to gamble some so I bought 11 of the most mentioned stocks on different investing subreddits in Jan of 2025. There's some I didn't invest in for personal reasons and I didn't invest all 20% into these as I still have cash on the sidelines but here's how it went: Nvda 32% Pltr 141 Asts 241 Rklb 97 Amd 80 Smci 15 Bbai 66 Aur -27 Btc -4 Hims 56 Tem 124 Average =74.64% The stocks I've been seeing most mentioned this year on the different investing subs: 32 Nvda 141 Pltr 80 Amd 46 Tsm 31 Orcl 57 asml 68 avgo 60 vertiv 221 Nbis 120 Crwv 96 Sofi 241 Asts 97 Rklb -42 Lunr -84 stock not allowed to be mentioned here -68 probably not allowed to be mentioned here 327 iren 234 hood 66 bbai 41 rddt 86 baba Average = 88.09% Although both groups did well, the market & redditors were fearful more often than they were positive. And more importantly I have to say history is not an indicator of the future and as many people have been saying for the past few years, we are due for a pullback.. That pullback may come today or in 5 years. No one knows. The skeptic in me believes while maybe the trend can continue, you never know who will continue their growth, who will falter, who will be the next big thing, who will ink big deals, who will run out of money, who's tech will become superior/inferior, etc. All that to say maybe a tech etf will be safer than choosing the wrong stocks. And s&p is safer than those.
