Idk why people call Tech Jacket useless when Oliver is right there
Every single fight, Oliver makes the same fucking mistake. He challenges people severely above his weight class. He doesn’t learn. He thinks Thragg is the same as some street level villain on earth. Go fight Lucan or something. At least Tech Jacket doesn’t almost die every fight and she’s actually helped kill Viltrumites. Unlike him submitted by /u/RealAd8853 to r/Invincible_TV [link] [comments]

Show Tech Jacket and Comic Tech Jacket are roughly the same.
A few of my friends and the general discourse have been saying the new Tech Jacket, Zoe, got nerfed compared to her comic counterpart. I was scratching my head because I remembered OG Tech Jacket, Zach, getting worked pretty badly by the Viltrumites up to this point. And yeah, I was right. I went back, and Zach has a pretty rough road against the Viltrumites too. Just like Zoe, he got a few good shots in, but he needed to be rescued just as many times, and he got less panel time on Talescria to get some hits in. Go back and read Chapter 72 onwards. You'll see that Zach wasn't exactly blowing Viltrumites to pieces; it was a hard knock life for the dude. Here's hoping Zoe gets to do something cool in the upcoming animations. I loved Tech Jacket in the comics, and I'm sorta fond of the new version. Going up against Viltrumites is a tall order, and I kinda expected her to go through it like Zach did, but that's what makes them heroic. The fact that they'd even agree to fight the Viltrumites in the first place shows crazy grit. Hopefully in the next episode, Zoe squares up with Thragg and pushes him to maximum diff. IM TIRED OF THE TECH JACKET PROPAGANDA
People are trying to gaslight and act like Fem!Jacket is being severely nerfed and also did nothing in the fight compared to OG!TechJacket. I went to go read the chapter to check: HE DOES ALMOST THE SAME THING 😭 1) Shoots his lasers at DadBodvincible 2) Gets his helmet smashed in 3) Allen saves him and takes over while he recovers 4) backup w/ guns comes 5) Disappears the rest of the fight I can give them one thing he does punch a Kregg w/Allen. It doesn’t kill or really injure him but it’s impressive! It’s gonna be irritating af hearing this every episode with Fem!Jacket from now on… submitted by /u/Flo_Philly to r/Invincible [link] [comments]

My qualified and experienced husband(Senior Engineering Manager) was let go due to job cuts in Oct 2025. Since then he has been interviewing with no luck. Limited job opportunities. If he too technical they reject him for not having business strategy and if he is not technical they reject him for lacking depth. He has come very close to getting an offer, but just missed. Tech-bro misses Indian hospitality. He means his mother's unpaid labour.
Bit pissed with Indian tech-bros bragging about how hospitable the culture is. Nobody mentions who has been in the kitchen since morning. Some days ago I ran into an Indian tech bro lamenting how warm Indian hospitality is and how cold the Netherlands feels. What they miss isn't the 'culture' but the unpaid labour of Indian women: mothers, wives, daughters who cooked the food, hosted the guests, managed the children and the emotions while the men took pride in being such hospitable people. Of course you miss it. It's easy to miss hospitality when you were the one being served. Adding: I have put this here because I have been so sick of this for so long now. I've been writing about the strengths, struggles and resilience of women under patriarchal systems on reddit, substack, instagram just to have a proper outlet of this grief. Hopefully we see the fall of patriarchy in our lifetime. Adding: I am Indian submitted by /u/soultherapist512 to r/TwoXChromosomes [link] [comments]

I'm tired of the constant learning in tech and I'm afraid of AI. I think I should leave tech. I'm tired of being women in tech.
I'm 27 years old with 4 years of experience working in tech. I feel like all my free time after work has to be spent learning and improving myself. I don't have time to live, have fun, or enjoy life. Maybe 5% of my adult life has been about enjoying it the rest is just work, eating, studying, or procrastinating. In my day to day work I don’t have time for that because I’m focused on solving project-specific tasks. I can’t, for example, learn a new programming language because I have deadlines and need to deliver solutions on time. If I want to change jobs I have to prepare for interviews. Lately, I've been preparing for interviews over the past few months and I feel exhausted. Except for the summer I spend my time at home just trying to stay competitive in the market. My whole life has been like this. I studied computer science, then got a junior position where they expected me to learn everything on my own. They wanted people to be self-sufficient. The onboarding lasted 3 months and I didn’t manage to learn all the necessary skills perfectly at that short amount of time. So my entire life has been about learning, studying hard to get into a good school, then study all days to pass demanding exams, and now now constantly learning after work to stay good enough. Performance reviews also stress me out. It feels like they’re constantly watching and monitoring you. If you slow down they put you on a PIP. I can't imagine living my whole life like this, being monitored like a resource. After spending some time in tech I’m coming to the conclusion that it’s not what I imagined. If I had known what this job would actually be like I would never have chosen this major. On top of that most of my coworkers are men. A lot of them have poor soft skills. They can be rude and snarky and they lack kindness. I’ve experienced a lot of rude behavior from men. When I was a junior they would laugh at my code instead of showing empathy for someone who was still learning. I feel like as a woman I constantly have to prove myself. It’s like they’re watching and waiting for me to make a mistake and when I do they blow it out of proportion. When I was younger, I had the spirit and strength of an animal. Now I'm exhausted. My fragile nerves can't handle being treated like that constantly. It's easier to leave this toxicity. Today I can honestly say I’m fed up. There’s so much negativity that I can’t see the positive side anymore. There are layoffs, AI developing faster than imagined, and the pressure to keep up is just too much. I’m putting in so much effort but it doesn’t feel like it’s paying off. And now it feels like all the skills I’ve worked hard to build might be replaced by AI in the near future. I’ve never been a genius. I’ve always been ordinary. I’m not great at solving algorithms or spotting solutions quickly like some people can. A lot of the guys from my CS class were smarter than me in that sense, they were quicker and better at math. I’m more of a creative person. I like colors and inventing things. I hated math. To me math was just a competition for people born with a math brain. I don’t believe math skills can be trained, at least not for me. I tried for years and I’m still just average. I’ve been observing genius math and CS people, and they’re a different kind of person. They behave differently, they tend to like similar things, they even dress alike. I’m very different from these "math genius" men. I get an ick at the thought of having to be like them. Like, for example, playing chess, so many of them love it, but I think it’s stupid, a waste of time, not productive, just a competition of ego. Without strong math skills I feel like I’m just an average developer. I went into tech because I liked inventing apps and had good ideas. I can code but I’m not a genius. Now with AI I feel like my skills are being devalued. I feel like I’m not needed anymore especially as companies keep raising the bar year after year. I just wanted to be an ordinary developer. But now it feels like there’s no room for ordinary. Only for those who are either geniuses or who constantly grind after hours. All I want is work-life balance, to go home and not have to read or code just to stay competitive. I’m seriously thinking of leaving tech and going to dentistry school. I want that sense of stability where I don’t have to fear being replaced by AI. Every day I ask myself what’s the point of learning new things in tech if AI can already do it. I’m studying for interviews but I could just type those problems into AI and get an answer instantly. Recently I’ve completely lost my motivation to work in tech. This environment full of men who are often prejudiced is no longer appealing to me. In my early 20s I believed I could be strong and push through it, that I could be a strong woman in this field. Now I no longer have the motivation because it feels like an unfair fight, one I’ll never win. I’m just putting in too much effort for too little in return with no secure future. submitted by /u/FantasticEffect10 to r/womenintech [link] [comments]
