After 5 years with the exact same electric toothbrush, my dentist finally stopped yelling at me.
I used to be that guy buying those cheap $10 battery spin brushes that would die in 3 months, or just scrubbing way too hard with a manual brush and ruining my gums. Exactly 5 years ago, I finally bit the bullet and bought a proper Sonicare, This thing has survived countless bathroom tile drops, international travel, and somehow the battery still lasts almost 2 weeks on a single charge. I actually bought the slightly upgraded version for my partner 3 years ago, and both are still running like absolute tanks. The "clean" feeling you get is literally like walking out of a dental cleaning. If you are still using manual brushes and dealing with plaque build-up or gum bleeding, do your future self (and your wallet) a huge favor. This is the exact model that has survived half a decade for me: Sonicare ProtectiveClean 6100 Best daily hygiene investment I've ever made. The result of my mom's "cleaning spree". Woke up, went to brush my teeth, this is how the bathroom and my toothbrush was left.
She was also just sitting on the couch doom scrolling while telling me "oh I'm being so productive today" yet she's left the bathroom like this. I'm mostly angry about my toothbrush, I'm somewhat of a germaphobe and I know I will gag and possibly throw up if I even attempt to use this. My stomach is churning just thinking about it. I asked her about it and she said "what?? No I didn't." Straight up denying it, I told her to go look herself, she did, she then said: "Oh I didn't see that it was fallen over-" (it was previously standing up with my things, not even originally in that position, she knocked it over, this was her attempt at avoiding accountability, trust me I've been dealing with this for years.) "oh well it's fine, look that's what toothpaste is for, it's fine see get over it" dismissing my concern entirely. I'm not using it I don't care if it's been "cleaned". submitted by /u/Double-East5337 to r/mildlyinfuriating [link] [comments]

Need recommendations for best electric toothbrush
Just got back from the dentist and let's just say it wasn't great news. I've been using a manual toothbrush my whole life and apparently I'm not doing a good enough job because I've got some early gum issues starting. My dentist strongly recommended switching to an electric toothbrush. I want to get the best electric toothbrush I can to actually fix this problem before it gets worse. Budget isn't really an issue if it means avoiding more dental work down the road. What should I be looking for? Sonicare vs Oral-B? Do those UV sanitizers actually matter? I have somewhat sensitive gums (obviously lol) so I don't want something too aggressive. Would really appreciate any advice from people who've made the switch! submitted by /u/BioKZM to r/BuyItForLife [link] [comments]

My little guy's first tooth popped up the other day! I recently ordered a toothbrush for him, but I see that at this age some people say to use fluoride toothpaste, others say to use non-fluoride toothpaste and then another website says to only use warm water until 18 months. Want to see a horror show? Put your toothbrush head in hydrogen peroxide.
I use an electric toothbrush and not only rinse it well after use, I take the head off and run water through the entire head to flush out the inside too. I put it in a cup of peroxide last night and not only did it boil fiercer than I've ever seen peroxide boil before, thick yellow clumps started coming out a hole in the side. It was absolutely vile. I put that filth in my mouth every day! Yeech. Regular toothbrushes start boiling too, there's often tiny little food particles stuck in the bristles so I recommend you peroxide regular toothbrushes, but it's nothing like an electric head. submitted by /u/YouTasteStrange to r/CleaningTips [link] [comments]

Turns out my 80$, name-brand electric toothbrush was not waterproof
It suddenly stopped working while I was brushing. The toothbrush is fresh out of warranty, the battery was never an issue, no signs of drops or damage, so I decided to open it up to see if there was some loose connection to re-solder. Apparently, water has been dripping inside the casing for who knows how long, seeping in from the top and making its way down. I wonder why it died. submitted by /u/LordBroblord to r/mildlyinfuriating [link] [comments]

Jason Richardson says Shaquille O'Neal once took a Lou Amundson's mouthpiece and put it in his butt, then took a toothbrush and stirred it in his poop.
Source We had a guy on the team my first year in Phoenix, Lou Amundson. He used to ride a bike to practice every day because he lived right across from the arena. Every time he rode his bike, Shaq would take it and hide it. Somewhere in the arena. Every day after practice, Lou was on a scavenger hunt trying to find his bike. This went on for the entire season. Finally, toward the end of the season, Lou had enough. He said, “I’m done with this. Every practice, I spend 45 minutes to an hour trying to find my damn bike.” We tried to warn him. We said, “Yo, Lou, this is Shaq. I’ve heard the stories—doodoo surprise. He used to take a shit in people’s magazines and shoes. This is Shaq you’re dealing with, bro. You might want to chill.” So he popcorned Shaq's van, and Shaq was like "Oh okay, this is a good prank, but you don't know who the fuck you messing with." The game happened, I come in the locker room, and I see Shaq. Shaq walking around that locker room naked as nothing, real slow and tight. And he pulls a mouthpiece out his ass and puts it in a locker. He told us "Y'all better not say shit either." He takes Lou's toothbrush, he goes to take a shit, and he stirs it in his shit. We like "We ain't into this shit, this is getting out of hand." The game happens, somehow I'm on the bench, Matt Barnes on the bench, Steve Nash on the bench, Jared Dudley's on the bench. Lou Amundson checks in the game, and he puts the mouthpiece on and everybody on the bench loses it. He comes to the locker room, he takes his mouthpiece off, and someone's like "Hey Lou, don't use your mouthpiece, Shaq put your mouthpiece in his ass." he said "Uh, no he didn't." and put it back in his mouth and goes out there. The bench loses it again. So Lou gets subbed out the game, and he said "J-Rich, are they fucking with me? What happened?" I said "Shaq took your mouthpiece and put it in his ass, bro." and he took it out and he just looked at it. Matt Barnes said to him "Anything in your locker has probably been in Shaq's ass, throw it all away." submitted by /u/Goosedukee to r/nba [link] [comments]
