Update of my growing Vintage Barbie Collection
Hi everyone I decided to post an updated of my growing collection of Vintage Barbie dolls and clothing. I have been quite lucky with some of my finds recently especially as I found quite few of them with their original outfits on or near all their outfits on. My favourite one in collection so far is my 1991 Happy Holidays Barbie as I love her dress and she looks so pretty. I just out of curiosity please let me know if I got any rare or hard to get dolls in collection just pure curiosity. All my dolls are from the early to late 90s and my doll outfits are ruffly from the early to late 80s to early 90s maybe later. I really enjoy collecting them and I found most of my dolls and clothing(apart from few clothing that I was given) in charity shops. Most of them came from the same charity shop as I volunteer for one so when I find one I brought them soon as I can. I plan buying some more soon off eBay eventually. I hope one day to find a some dolls from the 1960s or older hopefully one day I get lucky. Anyway I am going on a bit. I do my best to look after my dolls and when I get them I attempt to fix them up best I can and if possible when they missing they outfits I attempt to make them new out fit or clothing them in my spare Barbie clothes I got in my mix doll clothes and accessories box. I do restore them to best my ability but I don’t over do it as I do like them to have some wear and tear from being preloved as it gives them character. Hope you all like my collection so far and please feel free to say which doll in my collection is your favourite. Here list of all dolls and dolls outfits I have so far(these taken from my notes so they bit all over the place and it’s not in age order) Birthday Surprise Barbie Doll 1996(incomplete but has her original dress and earrings missing shoes, accessories and her ring. Her hair needs some work) Jewelry Fun My First Barbie Christie Doll 1996(near complete just missing her accessories her is in really good condition apart from some wear and tear but nothing too bad and the pear heart is missing on her dress) hula hair barbie doll 1996(missing all her outfit, accessories and her hair needs restyling and one of her elbow joints has piece broken off. Apart from this she is in pretty good condition) Giggles’n Swing Barbie doll 1998(in good condition just needs her hair worked on. She has none of her outfit, she doesn’t giggle anymore even after changing her batteries, missing her Kelly and the rest of the set she came with) millennium princess barbie doll 2000(she is missing all her beautiful outfit and accessories apart from her earrings, part of one of her hands is complete missing and she needs some work on her hair) princess of japan barbie 2003(she is missing all her beautiful outfit, shoes and her accessories. Vintage Dolls: Liddle Kiddles, Mattel, 1960s
These are the dolls that started my whole doll collection, leading to the discovery of antique dolls as I searched for them. Like earlier Barbies, Liddle Kiddles were manufactured in Japan in the 1960s and their faces are hand-painted. The bodies have wire armature, making them posable, but the metal causes greenish discoloration of the vinyl and also breaks and pokes through their “skin.” The vinyl itself has proven to be unstable and often turns pale and faintly greenish. They came with wonderful miniature accessories—whatever I have is shown with the matching doll. The storybook dolls had little books with them! The “big kiddles” are Chris, Tutti and Todd (Barbie line, 1960s) and Buffy from the Family Affair tv show. There are also a few Hasbro wannabes in the mix, which were childhood dolls given to me by a friend. This is by no means a mint or complete collection, but I enjoy having these surprisingly fragile little dolls out in a pre-zombie state! I wanted to share them before then, too! submitted by /u/willowwing to r/Antiquedollcollecting [link] [comments]

1960s Vintage Dolls
Thought you all might be interested to see my mom's vintage Barbie dolls! They all are from the mid 1960's and later, and i think include at least one Francie doll. I also know that the doll second to end on the group Pic is a Tammy doll (not Mattel) but thought I'd include her anyway. submitted by /u/LaReineDeLaLune to r/Barbie [link] [comments]

My Barbies in 1960s Mod Clone outfits!
I absolutely love the fancy, fun and oh so fashionable mod outfits of the 1960s made for Barbie size dolls especially what we call "clone" pieces! These can be garish, poorly made and downright hideous but companies such as Shillman (my favorite), Maddie Mod and others did produce some stunning pieces that are equal to or better than even Mattel! Here are a few modeled by some vintage 80s and 90s Barbies. Enjoy. Ps., if you recognize any, please let me know. Thanks! submitted by /u/jameshamer1967 to r/Barbie [link] [comments]

Guys - If anyone knows about Vintage Barbie Japan Exclusives - I need help
Okay so I will make this to the point. This is not promotion At all. I need help. I resell on ebay for a living. The last month I've gotten really lucky with barbie stuff . At an estate sale, I bought an entire case of midge stuff and got multiple rare dresses. One sold for 200, one I sold the top for 450, that's the picture shown. So this other piece, with the checkered skirt, I CANNOT FIND THIS. I went through "Barbie in Japan", I've messaged countless people, and one lady I talked to swears this is a Japanese exclusive release. But we can't find it anywhere. If anyone knows ANYTHING about this top. Also, if interested, I have a total of 3 giant cases of vintage barbie/midge clothes and dolls. I'm slowly sorting through them it's been a lot of work. Thank you so much! Let me know if there's something I'm doing not allowed. submitted by /u/Then-Message-6187 to r/Barbie [link] [comments]

ID Vintage 1960s glasses?
Hi! My aunt recently gave me some of her old dolls and among them was a pair of red, cat-eye glasses with real hinges. I can't seem to find much regarding a RED pair of hinged, cat-eye barbie glasses online (most of what I can find are black pairs of glasses), and I was wondering if anyone had any idea of which doll they might belong to? I found ONE image on pinterest that links to a sold etsy listing describing the glasses as from the 1960s. My aunt was born in 67 and got barbies throughout the 70s. (if it helps, the other dolls in the lot she gave me were fashion queen barbie, standard midge, a brunette now knit barbie, and a suburban shopper dress- all of which were Very played with. ) also- if this post isn't allowed please let me know! It's after midnight where i am so i assume the "only 5 id requests a day" rule has reset- but if not i'll take the post down! https://preview.redd.it/q7ismysbz67c1.jpg?width=571&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f821b1b657f8d9f2b9146be47550ffc912b5cefc https://preview.redd.it/oiomzwsbz67c1.jpg?width=571&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8612f800dfd8f9c3fa50e0474a76d663734b2453 https://preview.redd.it/ar624xsbz67c1.jpg?width=571&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5a83132617a1635cd2f9cf22d2ae242756c1acc1 submitted by /u/Haandotexe to r/Barbie [link] [comments]

I repainted (touch ups) my first vintage barbie doll found in a thrift shop yesterday and I love the result. It will become an obsession soon! For those who do it, do you guys use varnish on top of it? I just plan on putting her on display as soon as I find her a 1960s dress.

I found this wonder vintage 1960s Horsman doll at the thrift store. I'm amazed it's bonnet hadn't been lost along with the booties. Barbies in the back were my sisters when she was a kid in the 70s, she gave them to me for my collection.

Vintage 1960s Barbie and Skipper clothes flat-lay! Some official, some seem hand made. Dolls and clothes belonged to mom and aunt.
