Good 1st date outfit? 87° out and we are walking to a brewery.
I’m asking because I don’t get compliments when wearing it but I sometimes see people look at me which just makes me think they’re judging something that I am not seeing and not in a good way. So is this a bad outfit and I’m just not seeing it? Maybe it’s too revealing? There are built in shorts under the skirt btw. submitted by /u/PriorityDismal5223 to r/OUTFITS [link] [comments]

2 months of walking with pcos
I wanted to share this if it could motivate anyone to walk. I never realized how much it changed me until I compared pics. It’s crazy what our body can do in 2 months. TO RECTIFY: I definitely made changes in my diet, ate 80g of protein+ - high fiber (chia seeds, fruits, nuts, oats and veggies) - lower carbs or better carbs (whole grains etc but I still eat pasta and rice + noodles) - I don’t eat as much sugar and avoid to snack on pringles and chocolate now 🤪 I do dark chocolate with berries and nuts when I need it before my period or before tennis for example (play tennis once a week for 2 hours) Most important in my opinion is SLEEP! 7/8 hours no screen time 30 min before. But overall I believe that walking creates discipline. Discipline makes your more aware of your nutrition and lowers anxiety as you’re in control of your life. I’m still new in this and will update you but let’s get walking guys :) submitted by /u/Low_Total9674 to r/walking [link] [comments]

Does walking actually help?
Walking is huge lately, with 10K steps/day becoming a trend and everything. And I mean I get it, it's very healthy and I am all for people getting daily exercise they actually enjoy! But with that being said, I am not convinced it really does as much for weight loss as people claim? Unless someone walks for hours every single day, the calories being burned seem pretty small. Like one hour of walking with a comfortable speed is estimated to be around 200 kcal? Definitely better than nothing, but not life-changing like many people claim. Like it won't make you drop 20 lbs in a month. But I am fully open to having my mind changed! edit: to clarify ik 20 lbs a month is surreal, I was just referencing those people who make content like "I started walking 10K/day and lost sooo much weight!" submitted by /u/NoWitness6400 to r/loseit [link] [comments]

[40] Two years of sobriety and a lot of walking.
After a lengthy run drowning myself in booze relentlessly, I finally broke after being fired and quit cold turkey. From drinking fifths of whiskey a night chased with white claws. Don’t even recognize the person I was. Months forgotten at a time. The shit I did was insane. Went from pretty being unable to climb a flight of stairs without being winded, to walking three thousand miles last year from working. Currently down 120 pounds from my heaviest. Edit; WOW. thank you to so many kind words. Was a rough few years of drinking for me and my self image and confidence took a pretty good hit during those years. Never expected this response. It has absolutely made my day. Thanks! submitted by /u/UpperWoodpecker2133 to r/GlowUps [link] [comments]

AITJ for walking out of dinner after my girlfriend “tested” me?
I (29M) have been dating my girlfriend (28F) for 8 months. She’s really into social media and relationship “tests,” which I’ve always found kind of cringe but harmless. Last night we went out to dinner. Halfway through the meal, a woman came up to our table, flirted with me, and asked for my number. I immediately said no and told her I was there with my girlfriend. After the woman left, my girlfriend started laughing and told me it was her friend and she wanted to see how I’d react. She said I “passed,” so I shouldn’t be mad. I was pissed. I told her that was humiliating and manipulative, and I don’t want to be tested like I’m on some reality show. She said I was overreacting and that other guys would find it funny. I paid for my food, left, and went home. Now she says I embarrassed her and made a big deal out of nothing. AITJ for walking out? submitted by /u/First_Dog4511 to r/AmITheJerk [link] [comments]

6 months of walking!
I went from being completely sedentary most of my life (literally averaging sub 1,000 steps a day) to wanting to take my health more seriously after turning 30 this year. It's been exactly 6 months since I started tracking my health, and I'm down over 40 lbs from just walking and very light jogging (if you can count the max speed of 3.75mph on my walking treadmill a jog 😅). I don't have any true progress pics to show for it since losing weight wasn't the main goal, but threw on my old favorite pair of jeans and cannot believe how loose they are now! submitted by /u/TatlTael27 to r/walking [link] [comments]

Update: 3 months of walking
Previous posts: https://www.reddit.com/r/walking/s/NYWXVJpFty I almost nearly didn’t do this update because full disclosure, some of the physical changes I’ve experienced aren’t purely down to just walking. However, this sub gave me my life back, genuinely I was depressed and didn’t know where to start and I started reading some of your posts that inspired me to start with small walks. I’ve also spoken to so many people who have given me encouragement to keep going, so last update (I promise). 3 months ago I was overweight/obese even, unhappy and had very little energy. My daughters deserved better and honestly so did I. This month I set a goal of 12,000 steps per day. I hit 10k steps every day without fail. And my average step count for the month was 12,936. I’ve ended the month at 73kg. Full disclosure to changes I’ve made: - aim for 12k steps per day, and I use a weighted vest to make my workouts more strenuous - I’ve started running (and signed up to raise money for a charity by running 100km throughout September - who do I think I am?!) I couldn’t even run for a minute back in May. - I’ve incorporated strength training. - I made healthy eating a priority and I am in a calorie deficit I promise no more updates, but I wanted to thank everyone who supported and encouraged me in this community, it meant more than you’ll ever know and it really held me to account. I like the person I’m becoming (fitter, healthier, mentally happier and a good role model for my kids). I still have a way to go, mainly the post baby belly, but I’m ok with that taking time. submitted by /u/AdhesivenessAny8450 to r/walking [link] [comments]

Update: 61 days of walking
Original post (30 days of walking): https://www.reddit.com/r/walking/s/V0hgH37N3M I’ve been so excited to post this since I got such a great response and motivation from everyone when I posted a 30 days of walking update, so I thought I’d post a 61 days of walking update now that it’s the end of July. I am still purposefully walking every single day and my goal is 10k steps. Weight loss has continued, I’ve went from 87kg to 79kg this month and I’m noticing a huge change to my shape. I’m officially no longer obese according to my BMI, just severely overweight, hurrah /s and my cardio fitness is nearly average. Walking has been a great starter for me, I’m now adding in a small (super slow) run every now and then, but I still credit walking and a calorie deficit for these results. I’m regularly able to walk 5 miles a day, and I genuinely look forward to getting outside. Physically it’s much easier than when I first started and I have so much more energy now, even though I’m doing so much more. I sleep so much better too. Mentally, I’m in such a better place. I’m enjoying being back at work after maternity leave, and I’m enjoying spending time with both my girls. My last post inspired a lot of people to get out walking, so I’m hoping the same from this post, but if you did comment last time, I’d love to know if you’ve kept it up for July and whether you’re feeling any of the benefits I have. I got a lot of questions last time so I’ve tried to add more information into the post/pictures, but will try to respond to any questions. Here’s to August!! submitted by /u/AdhesivenessAny8450 to r/walking [link] [comments]
