We really like our Clearly Filtered water filter! It's nice to be able to keep a pitcher in the fridge like a Britta. I have a meter that came with my Britta pitcher/filter. The water from my faucet says 150 which I'm certain is bad, I was suspicious and couldn't just buy a tester on its own(I should be able to). Anyway, after it goes through the filter its literally zero. Unless this is a different scale for measuring particles in water, which is why I explained what device I had first.

My tap water has a chemical taste. What pitcher filter actually removes microplastics?
update: grabbed the purela p02 glass water pitcher in the end. not gonna say it's perfect but the weird chemical taste is less noticeable now. This has been bugging me for months. My tap water has started tasting weirdly chemical. Not like bad, but definitely noticeable. Kind of like when you smell a pool? But diluted. I've got a basic water pitcher and it does basically nothing for the taste. And now I'm also paranoid about microplastics because apparently those are in everything now. I know real filters like RO systems handle this stuff but I'm not ready to install something under my sink yet. Are there any actually good pitcher filters that aren't just marketing BS? Like ones that genuinely catch microplastics and fix the taste I've been researching higher-end options and these keep coming up: ZeroWater — removes dissolved solids Purela P02 pitcher — dual filtration for microplastics and PFAS Epic Pure — targets microplastic removal They're all in the $50-80 range vs a basic $35 pitcher. Worth it if they actually work, but I don't want to waste money on more marketing hype. Anyone have experience with these or other recommendations? submitted by /u/__eYES__ to r/PlasticFreeLiving [link] [comments]

What is the Top Best Water Filter Pitcher now?
I’m looking to get a water filter pitcher for home use, but there are so many options and it’s hard to know which one is actually good. I want something that’s easy to use, reliable, and gives clean, great-tasting water. I’ve seen brands like Brita, ZeroWater, PUR, Soma, and Aquagear. Has anyone used any of these? A reputable Water Filter Pitcher that has good tasting water?
Is there a water filter pitcher that's not expensive and actually filters clean and good tasting water? I used a cheap brita filter from target a while ago and it tasted weird and had little specs of stuff inside the water. Are there no decent refrigerators left in this cruel world?
Yes I’m being dramatic…but also I’m so lost on what refrigerator to purchase! Obviously everything will have some bad reviews. TLDR: We have 2 refrigerators. Our main fridge broke recently. The other one is very basic bottom of the line, pretty small, works but we need filtered water and an ice maker. Need help or advice finding a new one! This is the situation: We’ve had our French door, water dispenser on the outside, whirlpool fridge for about 5.5 years. Now it won’t stop beeping and whatever the issue, I hear they only last 5-7 years anyways. Thankfully we have a backup fridge that is basic and usually holds drinks. Right now it’s holding everything and hanging in there. We want to buy a new fridge that has a water dispenser and an ice maker. My dream fridge would be the GE cafe or Bosch 800 series. Those sadly are out of budget right now. My lowest that I kind of liked was two Hisense fridge that are ~$1500. That’s a better price point, but I keep seeing nightmare customer service stories and someone’s whole door fell off. The in between I liked was the GE profile, but saw a couple reviews of the pitcher leaking or overflowing. I really liked this one but it’s about $2600 and I’d really like to be under that. My worry is if I go with the cheaper, it might be “you get what you pay for” situation. Does anyone have any advice or actually own the fridges in the pictures?? I’d love to hear your experiences with whichever fridge you have (the good, the bad, the ugly). TIA!! submitted by /u/Royal-Researcher2535 to r/Appliances [link] [comments]

Brita Water Filter Pitcher...Looking For Alternatives
I've been using a Brita pitcher for years, but lately I'm wondering if it's actually doing enough. The water tastes fine, but I've been reading that these basic filters don't really do much beyond reducing chlorine and improving taste. I'm looking for something that removes more contaminants, specifically things like heavy metals, PFAS, and pharmaceuticals. Plus, I'm not a fan of having to replace the filters so frequently, and I've seen mixed reviews about how effective they really are over time. Anyway, long story short...are there any better brita alternatives out there that keep things simple but actually filter more stuff? submitted by /u/Light-Blue-Star to r/waterfilter [link] [comments]

Water filter Pitcher Suggestions!
Hi all, I recently moved to Texas from abroad. I drink a lot of water and I don’t want to keep buying bottled water because it would be too expensive. I’m planning to buy a water filter pitcher instead. I’ve seen a lot of information about LifeStraw, Brita, and ZeroWater, but it’s a bit confusing, so I’d like some clear recommendations. Can you recommend some good options that are effective but also budget-friendly? submitted by /u/s_perk_ to r/BuyItForLife [link] [comments]

Best water pitcher for microplastics?
I recently read that microplastics are accumulating more and more in the day and this called me into action a bit. I have been drinking spring water in plastic bottles for year and I want to stop to avoid plastics. Right now I can't install a reverse osmosis system (I'm about to move out) but I want to buy a water pitcher. It should be as plastic free as possible and made of glass. I've been thinking about the lifestraw but there's just so much contradicting information I can't make up my mind. submitted by /u/placeholder-123 to r/PlasticFreeLiving [link] [comments]

Whole house water filter system recommendation
Just moved into a new house where the town water tends have some issues. Got our water tested with a local company who said we have high iron and hard water. The town has also sent out a couple notices about contaminants in the water exceeding legal limits - one for PFAS and another for TTHM. We were hoping to get a whole house filter system that would take care of of all of that, but the local company that we got a quote from said it would be like $25k for something that would remove the PFAS and TTHM. So he recommended doing a reverse osmosis for drinking water to remove those chemicals, but said we would also need a carbon backwash system for the whole house. Quote was for like $6-7k for those things, but we didn’t really want to spend that much. So now we are thinking about just getting a whole house filter system from Home Depot to install our selves for $450-$500 for the hard water and iron, and then just the Zero Water filter pitcher for drinking water. Can anyone recommend a whole house filter system that would take care of both the hard water and iron? I am looking at the Express water and the iSpring but not sure if they would remove both iron and hard water. Open to other thoughts/options for my situation too. submitted by /u/newdecadenewme to r/WaterTreatment [link] [comments]
