Me and my fiancé have been engaged for a few years now. I’m 28 years old and we made my ring with the jeweler when I was about 25 years old. I know a lot of women can relate to this - I had no idea what I was doing lol. I feel like my mind did a complete 180 after 25. I thought I had researched the type of ring I wanted, the jeweler, etc. so thoroughly. I thought I had it all figured out. Well, while I do love it, it’s not ~exactly~ what I want. I would’ve done a lot differently. Not only that, but the jeweler didn’t give me exactly what I asked for either. For example, I specified that I wanted a thicker band and I wanted to be able to stack my wedding band flush to my engagement ring. They assured me I would be able to. I get the ring and after a bit, I realize that this would actually not be possible due to the setting. My diamond is also 2.24 carats and I would’ve gone smaller tbh. My only concern with going east west is how “chunky” my diamond is. Will it look weird? I like this new band because it’s thicker and I feel like it makes more sense for the size of my diamond compared to my current band. Our wedding is in May, my fiancé is the chillest person ever and just wants me to be happy, and if I’m going to change my ring I need to do it before the wedding. So, I went to a local jeweler that is wayyyyy nicer than the spot we went to initially, and I inquired about changing the setting and the band, and turning my diamond in an east/west style. I just want to share and get everyone’s thoughts before I pull the trigger. I don’t want to do this and regret it lol. Make me feel even more confident in my decision to make these changes or tell me why this is a bad idea! First few pics is my ring now. I've been staring at these pictures for way too long now and nothing is making sense to me anymore. The three stone ring is my wedding ring. And I got the mangalsutra ring for my wedding anniversary. I want to create a ring stack based around my wedding ring to wear on special occasions, and I'm going for a maximalist vibe. I'd be happy if it includes the mangalsutra ring, but it's not necessary. But I'm struggling to understand if I'm going in the right direction. Pic 1 shows my wedding and anniversary rings. Pics 2 and 3 are the stack options with the mangalsutra ring that I'm leaning towards the most. Pic 4 is a hypothetical mockup of the option suggested by the store employee with two of the same ring from pic 3 on either side of the wedding ring. This one is my favourite so far in theory. Here's where I'm confused: Do you like any of 2 and 3, or are they looking too cluttered and hodgepodge? If you don't like 2 and 3, should I keep looking for a third ring to make a set, or should I leave it alone and wear it like pic 1? I want to wear more rings but I feel like I’m not having much luck finding balance on my left hand because of my wedding set. I wear yellow gold, and I have a 2 ct pear cut solitaire with a curved wedding band.
