What wipes are we getting now that The Honest Company doesn't sell in Canada anymore? [QC]
I've been using the Clean Conscious Co wipes from The Honest Company ever since my first was born in 2024, but they're no longer selling in Canada. For anyone in the same boat, what wipes are you getting as a replacement? The only ones I've tried so far are the Millie Moon wipes and hated how flimsy they were; it felt like they were going to disintegrate in my hands. Preference for scent-free options as we've got some sensitive skin between the four of us. submitted by /u/little_butterfly_12 to r/BabyBumpsCanada [link] [comments]

Employer wants me to use outlook on my phone, outlook wants permission to wipe my phone
Outlook says they need permission to wipe ALL my phone data if too many wrong passwords are typed. How many is too many? 50? 2? What if the screen gets wet and starts putting in random inputs. All this so I can use my company's Teams account and maintain "point of contact" if I'm not at a workstation. Absolutely not! Anyway, HR is supposed to call me back about my concerns. Edit: just to be clear, I don't actually need to use Outlook (I don't use my "personal" work email). I need to use Teams, which requires Outlook to be installed first. Part of why I need Teams on my phone so that I can be contacted when I'm not at work. I'm a lower management healthcare worker, it is actually important that my team be able to reach me after hours. I do actually like Teams and prefer it to 20 different group texts. Also, when you go to log into Outlook or Teams, it brings you to my employers authenticator page. I log in with the same credentials that I log into my workstation. I don't know if that makes a difference with anything as far as my employer having access to my phone Edit 2: I can tell you now they won't provide me a phone. Corporate execs don't even get phones. They stopped providing coffee for the break rooms too Update: I had a chance to talk to my district manager. Imagine Ellis from Die Hard, the same schmarmy self-important attitude, that's my supervisor. And guess who's "not being a team player". Also "I don't think Microsoft can actually erase your phone, you have an Android"... I lready knew he was going to be useless, I just wanted to hear his reaction. Update 2 and (sort of) Resolution: I spoke with HR. Her exact response was "wait, are you serious? They can just do that?" I tried explaining my "research" (i.e. everything all of you have said) and I think I just spooked her. She said she'll get back to me, and is probably running off to buy a burner phone for herself. SORT OF RESOLUTION : I found out I only need Outlook installed long enough to get access to Teams. Once teams was installed, I removed all permissions and completely deleted Outlook from my phone. Teams still works and didn't ask to erase anything. No need to buy a second phone. Thank you all for your insights submitted by /u/No_Professor4307 to r/mildlyinfuriating [link] [comments]

BREAKING: President Trump Wipes Out the Entire National Science Board, with Mass Firings of All 24 Top Scientist, in a Total Seizure of Federal Research Oversight 🤯🥼
On Friday evening, President Trump effectively paralyzed the United States scientific engine by firing all twenty four members of the National Science Board, the critical body overseeing the nine billion dollar National Science Foundation. This sweeping purge included world class experts like Vanderbilt physicist Keivan Stassun, who received notice of their immediate termination without cause via boilerplate emails from the Presidential Personnel Office. By bypassing the six year staggered terms mandated by Congress to protect research from political volatility, the administration has executed a total takeover of the agency that funds the most advanced breakthroughs in quantum computing and engineering. The structural impact of this decapitation is profound because the board is the only entity legally authorized to approve major grants and certify the integrity of federal research. Without a quorum or a confirmed director, the National Science Foundation is now unable to authorize new spending or manage massive facilities like the National Center for Atmospheric Research. This move comes on the heels of a 2025 court ruling that granted the executive branch expanded power over federal spending and coincides with a proposed fifty four percent cut to the research budget for 2027. The vacancy at the top of the organization ensures that no independent scientific voice remains to challenge the redirection of billions in taxpayer funds. This is more than a policy shift; it is the implementation of a state directed industrial policy that prioritizes executive alignment over independent peer review. As the global race for technological supremacy with China intensifies, the dismantling of independent oversight suggests a pivot toward a more aggressive and centralized scientific agenda. We are witnessing the total recalibration of the American research model, where the pursuit of objective truth is being replaced by the strategic requirements of national interest and political directive. This represents the most significant transformation of the relationship between the state and the scientific community since the end of the Second World War. submitted by /u/InterstellarKinetics to r/InterstellarKinetics [link] [comments]

Baby diapers and wipes!! Pls I’m desperate
Okay so I’m struggling so hard to figure out what to use I’m leaning towards the marquises brand…I was looking at CK but I have seen on another post from someone who has been using them for years that there quality has dropped and there’s a significant difference I also heard bunjie leaks to much and something happened with the manufacturing of there wipes I did use a pack I was given from my baby shower and I really liked then tho…but I also have heard great things about marquises wipes but nothing on there nappys and I would love a second opinion if someone has use them!! I will be doing a subscription to so I just want to use the same brand of nappies and wipes I live rurally and it’s too expensive to buy from the shops here…if anyone has used other diapers or recently used CK or bunjie and have a different opinion on them please lmk!! Yall need to stop coming at me for saying diapers it’s still the same thing and it was spur of the moment I wrote this after reading other posts and Evb was saying diapers so that word was at the top of my head submitted by /u/zaza1769 to r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu [link] [comments]

Convince me to use cloth wipes
I have a stack of cloth wipes I have not touched in the 5 months I’ve been cloth diapering. I use cloth diapers most of the time, except overnight, and use disposable wipes. I have a mental block around using cloth wipes - irrationally I think it will be very inconvenient and time consuming, somehow more than cloth diapering (I said it was irrational!). Do I use them dry? Do I need to get them wet during a diaper change? With what? Please convince me to at least try them! UPDATE: I’ve started using my cloth wipes today! Thank you all so much for the push. submitted by /u/QuicheFromARose to r/clothdiaps [link] [comments]

I used the secure 2% glycopyrrolate wipes for 1 week, and here are my thoughts!
Hi everyone, I’m a fellow HH friend and I’m here to share my 1 week update since starting my glyco wipes regimen. Fortunately, my HH isn’t severe and is only triggered overheating and activity / movement, and the onset of my sweating is quite rapid and heavy until my body cools down. Obviously, this is worsened by hot weather and warmer climates, so the summertime is pretty bad for me. I’ve tried a few things to help my HH: saw an ETS surgeon and dermatologist (both of which recommended Botox - I declined the Botox), started taking sage tablets (not sure how much they’ve actually helped, but I’ll keep taking them), and using OTC antiperspirants and brands like DuraDry, Carpe, etc. (didn’t work for me at all, made me smell worse, etc.) When I started digging through this thread and seeing “glyco” and “glycopyrrolate” and “oxy” and “oxybutinin” everywhere, I was intrigued and did more searching into those treatments as long term options for treating my HH. I read about all the side effects caused by each but ultimately, decided I was going to try glyco (as it seemed less dangerous for long term use) and see if it would work for me. I was terrified to try the pills, and someone on here recommended getting the glyco wipes to try instead, so I did the consultation on pharmacy.ca, ordered the 2% wipes, and tested them out for the first time last Sunday. As suggested, I used 1 wipes on clean, dry skin (armpits, face, and neck) right before bed last Sunday, and saw instant results the next day. The only side effects I dealt with were a transient headache and a dry mouth / throat. Other than that, I felt fine and the best part, not one drop of sweat left my body that day. I decided to skip using the wipe again that Monday night, and to my surprise, I spent Tuesday fairly dry as well. I even went to work out at the gym and into sweat when I got into my intense cardio (running on the treadmill). Other than that, I was pretty sweat-free. I was absolutely amazed how wiping myself Sunday night kept me dry for two whole days. By Wednesday, my sweat came back, but definitely at a reduced amount (maybe 55-65%), and so I took that as a hint to use the pad again Wednesday night. I had the same side effects on Thursday, and they were gone without my sweat coming back too much on Friday (granted, it was almost 100F, so I expected to sweat some just because of how hot it was going to be this weekend). I repeated this routine this past weekend: wiped myself Saturday, went to the Beyoncé concert without having to worry about sweating on Sunday, and then yesterday and today, my sweat levels have been very low (I.e. manageable). I plan to wipe tonight as it is now day 3 since wiping. So what I’ve learned with these wipes is that: (1) my side effects are manageable by drinking lots of water and electrolytes, (2) it’s important to find ways to keep myself cool so i don’t become too hyperthermic (I feel like this will only be a problem in super hot climates though - once falls comes around, it’ll be easier to stay cool), and (3) i don’t have to wipe myself daily, as one wipe is enough to last my body 2 days for reduced to virtually no sweating. I’m extremely happy with my results thus far and I am going to stay in this regimen where I wipe myself down every 2-3 days and stay super hydrated to combat the side effects. If you haven’t already, give glyco wipes a try. Pharmacy.ca also has them in different strengths, with the highest being 4%. If 2% is working this well for me, I can’t imagine how drying the higher strengths will be. For now, I’m going to stick with my 2% and increase if necessary. Thank you so much to the person that suggested these wipes. You’ve helped me boost my confidence by controlling my sweat and I’m happy to have finally landed on a sustainable solution to treating my HH. submitted by /u/tauruspiscescancer to r/Hyperhidrosis [link] [comments]

After finding out that many baby wipes contain harsh ingredients, I looked into all the main brands to find the safest options
I'm someone who is deeply interested in the ingredients used in personal care products (especially baby products). I recently took a list of 40+ (I lost track at some point) of the most popular baby wipes and looked at every single one of the ingredients. I cross-referenced medical journals, studies, and databases from the EU and US to analyze the ingredients. If you're interested, you can find the full list of 40+ baby wipes and their ingredients analyzed here and ranked from best to worst. Here's what I found: There's no such thing as "biodegradable" baby wipes: This one bummed me out. While a lot of wipes say they're biodegradable, because of the way landfills are designed (a lack of oxygen, light and moisture—crucial components of decomposition) they won't break down in any reasonable amount of time. And they won't break down in the sewer, either. Never flush baby wipes: Even if the wipes say they're flushable, don't flush them. Ever heard of a fatberg? They're a huge mass of grease, hair, dental floss wipes, etc. that combine into a huge mass in the sewer system. They recently pulled a 40 ton fatberg out of the London sewer system. Please don't flush wipes. Materials used: Most brands disclose the material used in the wipes, but many do not. The four main materials wipes are made of are: Polypropylene is essentially plastic—the same plastic used in most disposable diapers. Polyester is also plastic. Viscose is made from wood pulp. This wood pulp is highly processed and often bleached, but is better than polypropylene and polyester. Cotton has started to find its way into the baby wipes market with newer brands. Some brands even use organic cotton. Ingredients to avoid in baby wipes: The following list of ingredients should be avoided when shopping for baby wipes. Our listings make sure that none of these ingredients exist in the product. If they do, they will receive a bad rating. Polysorbate 20 – Treated with ethelyne oxide, which can be contaminated with 1,4 dioxane, a highly toxic chemical that is linked to organ toxicity and cancer. Parabens – Toxic preservatives that have been linked to breast cancer, hormonal disruption and skin irritation. Anything ending in “-paraben” such as methylparaben, ethylparaben and butylparaben is included. Phenoxyethanol – Considered to be a less toxic preservative, but still linked to skin irritation and eczema. Sodium Benzoate – A chemical preservative that’s inconclusively safe. Studies have linked the chemical to ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) but that likely only applies to sodium benzoate when used as a food preservative. It’s also controversial due to its ability to turn into toxic benzene when mixed with ascorbic acid (a derivative of vitamin C). Fragrance – Seeing fragrance on a label is never a good thing. This is used as an umbrella term used for hundreds of chemicals that don’t need to be disclosed. It’s also often mixed with phthalates—linked with endocrine disruption, lowered sperm counts in males, and thyroid disorders in females. Propylene glycol – A petroleum-based chemical typically linked with skin irritation and kidney issues when used internally. While this compound is broken down in the body, infants’ ability to do this is much lower than an adult. Because of this, we believe avoiding this chemical is better. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) – Petroleum-based penetration enhancer that can be contaminated with 1,4-dioxane, a possible human carcinogen and ethylene oxide, a known carcinogen. Anything that starts with “PEG-” is included. Triclosan – Another preservative linked to endocrine disruption, eye and skin irritation, and is very toxic to aquatic organisms. Tocopheryl acetate – This is a synthetic version of vitamin E, used as a preservative in skincare. The issue is that it’s sometimes contaminated with hydroquinone, a skin-lightening agent that’s banned in the UK, EU, Japan and Australia. This chemical is a skin irritant and possible carcinogen. Note on preservatives: While it's easy to hate on preservatives, in some products—like baby wipes—they're crucial. I found one brand that uses no preservatives at all (Dyper) and I could never recommend them for that reason. Baby wipes are essentially water and paper, which is a breeding ground for bacteria and mold when no preservatives are used. If a brand doesn't list any preservative, it either means they aren't using any, or they're not disclosing the ones they are using, which is a bad sign. Beware of WaterWipes: WaterWipes are a popular brand amongst health-conscious mamas because they advertise themselves as being just "water and grapefruit seed extract". However, in 2020 they changed the ingredient listing to include "trace of benzalkonium chloride" as a preservative. This is a well-recognized irritant and contact allergen, and therefore I'd recommend other brands over WaterWipes. Let me know if you want me to do any other guides. submitted by /u/glowingnest to r/moderatelygranolamoms [link] [comments]
