Today was assessment day for my course. I want to thank everyone who gave me encouragement and support. I have finally saved up to be licensed. Although I did have some sour experiences from fellow students giving me cold treatment as I have overheard them “shouldn’t he be doing what men do or whatever?” But that’s not gonna stop me from doing what I like doing 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ We had to pair up to perform basic Builder Gel (soft gel) service on our partners. However no one wanted to pair up with me so I asked my tutor if I could do it on myself. I think she read the room and decided to let me do the service on her instead. She gave me challenge. She said, builder gel overlay natural nails square shape and two shades of red, gold accent and pearls But she designed her pointer finger herself. The other tutor from the room next door (lash educator) walked in and saw my work. She loved it! She asked if I could do a an overlay on her too with French tips, and I delivered. (2nd slide) I managed to finish before the time frame. The lash educator asked if I wanted to learn the basics of eyelash extensions. I have only been doing extensions on my friends. I demoed on a mannequin head. She then asked me if I am comfortable lashing her. My heart was going pittah pattah pittah pattah 😂 however, I thought that was my opportunity. I did a wispy hybrid set. And just like that, the school offered me lash training, all paid for! I am beyond grateful. So I have naturally dark, dense and curly lashes, which honestly I really dislike the look of as I feel like they drag my eyes down when paired with my eye shape, especially with the way they curl. I’m wearing mascara on my top lashes in these photos, but you kinda get the gist as my bottom lashes are pretty much the same density/thickness as my top. I really love the look of manhua (aka manga/anime) lashes, I think they’re super cute and would soften my features a lot more, and I’ve been seeing a lot of really nice photos and videos of manhua lash extensions online, but I’ve only really see them on people with completely different lashes to mine. I don’t know too much about lash extensions but I’m assuming I’d just have to get them more sparsely for something similar? But then would it even last long and would [ETA: sorry forgot to finish this sentence] it not just fall out quickly? If that isn’t possible, honestly I’d just be happy with any sort of way I can have my lashes a bit more separated, I’ve had a reverse lash lift before but it lasted like 1 hour lol. But I was wondering if there was anything I could do to make my eyes seem more open, when it comes to my eyelashes at least. I got my hair cut and dyed and my lashes done and I feel like crying. The cut and dye was a few days ago and besides leaving dye all over my cheeks, she also cut it entirely crooked and gave me a much darker color. I only wanted my roots retouched to hide the grey. I got it recut today but I can’t afford to do anything with the color. I feel like this color washes out my face. Does it? Can I lighten it? I’m trying to look nice to go to an event so I got my lashes refilled and these make me want to cry too. They are not long and wispy like I asked for and I feel like they make me look way older. I’ll put a comparison picture from before I had all this done before at the end. (In that picture I also had lashes and this is what I asked for in the refill. It’s also the hair color I wanted.) Is there anything you can suggest to lighten this look. I truly feel like it made me look 10+ years older and the dramatic look of the lashes is not a look I feel I can pull off. I get a lot of spam texts — usually one or two a day, and sometimes more. So I wasn’t particularly surprised when I got this last night, although “you have a lash appointment” was a new one. I decided, on the off chance it was real, I’d let them know I’m not who they’re looking for. What I got was a screenshot of an invoice with a LOT of someone else’s personal info (unusual name, email, address) along with my phone number. What I got immediately after that was a voice memo calling me a bitch for being “nasty.” If you’re a small business owner — especially in a service profession — why don’t you just take the L on this one?
