Things my bf does that would sent a manchild into a coma.
Chocolate donuts and things my bf does. He buys me flowers. He never says no to things that would make me happy. He cooks really well. He respects when I go through phases of low libido due to burnout or job related stress. He buys me things I like in my favorite colors (they don’t need to be expensive, even €2 is enough). If I feel like I can’t work, he works alone. He cleans the house without me having to say anything. He prepares meals and snacks for my work. He makes me breakfast almost every day when he is not working. He signed up for the gym because I told him I wanted us to go together. There is no 50/50 in our relationship, financially or otherwise. It varies depending on each person’s capacity at the time (40/60, 80/20, 10/90, etc.). He doesn’t watch porn and he has female friends (mostly queer). He is a feminist to his core and speaks up when he sees injustice happening. He sends me messages during the day to show that he is thinking about me. He shows interest when I want to talk about things that concern me (whether hobbies or emotional/psychological topics). He doesn’t judge me for watching kids’ shows (winx, totally spies, barbie in the dreamhouse) while I’m drawing. He accepts ALL of me and he is patient during our conversations even if we disagree. He never judges what I wear. He has never made negative comments, even about my most "provocative" outfits. Ι could keep going until the list reaches 100 or more. But the point is that you shouldn’t tolerate anything less than this from a man. I see a lot of posts here, and it makes me sad that there are women who settle for crumbs. You are beautiful, intelligent, and capable of standing on your own, without some idiot bothering you over the bare minimum. If a man doesn’t ADD to your life, then he’s either taking away from it or he’s a burden. submitted by /u/Anarchista_Chiquita to r/GirlDinnerDiaries [link] [comments]

How to convince him? Thanks to u/soayherder for suggesting this BoRU Triggers Warnings: body injuries, emotional abuse, destruction of property Original Post: March 9, 2026 Went out for a friends birthday on Friday night and had a few drinks. Early on in the night I tripped over (before I’d even had a drink) and I ended up on all fours and one of my friends ran and slapped my bum. We all laughed and the night carried on and I thought nothing more of it. When I got home around 1am my husband was still awake in bed. I undressed to get in to bed and that’s when he noticed I had a hand mark on my bum. He instantly jumped out of bed and started demanding to know what it was and who did it. I stuttered a bit because I couldn’t even remember then it dawned on me so I told him what happened, but he didn’t believe me. He asked for my phone and obviously found nothing too serious but just said I’d deleted everything to cover my tracks. I went to the bathroom to have a look in the mirror and there was a definite handprint on there. He followed me and we stood there arguing for over half an hour and every time I tried to leave as I was cold and naked he’d stop me and accuse me of trying to run away. He said this doesn’t sound like my friend at all, which is true as she’s a very timid quiet person. He also said the handprint is too big for a woman but my friend is tall, she’s around 6 foot and does have big hands. I even ended up ringing my friend to corroborate my story and she even offered to come round and prove the handprint is hers by putting her hand on the print. He said we’d made up the story between us all and used the tall friend as the culprit as she’d have the biggest handprint. I asked the group chat if any of them had a video, but they don’t. All weekend we’ve been having this discussion and he doesn’t believe me. The handprint has gone now but he can’t let it go and keeps constantly asking me. It’s 4:45am here and he woke me up at 4 to ask about it. How can I make him believe me? I don’t know what to do. TLDR: friend slapped my bum and left a handprint. Husband doesn’t believe me and thinks it’s a man. Some of Relevant Comments Downvoted Commenter: Sue her for sexual assault, and file a police report. Legitimize it. OOP: No chance Commenter 1: I know this isn't what you want to hear, but he either trusts you or he doesn't. You can't make him trust you. OOP: This is what I don’t get. I’ve never given him a reason not to. Commenter 1: Has he been cheated on before? I can see it striking a chord if that's the case. If not, it sounds like projection...or red pill shit on social media OOP: Not that I know of. I said to him yesterday he’s projecting. Commenter 2: Is this a new behaviour or has he always accused you of cheating? OOP: First time he’s ever accused me of Commenter 3: What you should do is ring the bar, explain the situation & ask for the CCTV footage. If they say yes, make a bet with him of something that’ll hurt. “If it’s my friend you x if it’s a man I y. Do you want to take the bet or do you believe me?” You need to find something he’ll regret that’ll make him think twice about pulling this kind of bullying shit again but give him the opportunity to stop on his own. Then go look at the footage & hold him to it. Knock him back into his place. OOP: It was outside walking down the road. I tripped over a drain cover. Commenter 4: Sounds like your husband has some issues to begin with. You're allowed to go out and have fun with friends, it seems odd he just didn't believe you AND thinks all of your friends are in on it. Is there a history of cheating here? OOP: Yeah it’s starting to feel like projection to me. No nothing at all. I’ve never so much as looked at another man. Commenter 5: Ok so logically the facts, you couldn’t remember it happening even though you were sober , it would have to really hard to leave a full handprint , through clothing to have it still there fully 5/6/7 hours later . Slap your own bare thigh and it’s gone in an hour or so … He’s got every right to question it and the right to not believe you because it honestly sounds sketchy . Generally to have a full handprint , not bruised ( as you said it went away ) would have to be hard on bare skin . Is this post to make the story believable ? OOP: No because he won’t see this post. I was wearing a thin dress and a thong (an outfit he chose out for me I might add) and I was on my hands and knees so the skin was tight and I’m on blood thinners, so I do mark and bruise easily. All facts he knew. Commenter 6: Your timid friend just put you on the path to a divorce which I think is really ironic. I think it's also possible that your husband has been harboring resentment for late night girls nights out for a while, and this was the final straw. I do also think that his behavior and reaction is over the top and abusive. OOP: I go out 3 or 4 times a year. He goes out every weekend.   Update #1: March 15, 2026 (six days later) UPDATE My (35f) friend slapped my bum on a night out leaving a handprint. My husband (30m) doesn’t believe she did it. How do I convince him. To start with I’ll clear a few things up from my last post. My husband chose my outfit for me that night and it was a very thin dress with a thong underneath so there was very little protection of my derrière. I was also on all fours laughing so my bum was sticking up and then I heard footsteps running towards me and got absolutely thunder clapped on my arse. The sound echoed around the housing estate, and you know a slap is good when both the slapper and the slappee are in agony. All night that cheek was warmer than the other. I’m also on blood thinners which means I mark and bruise very easily. Second thing is my stammering when I told him. Might be TMI but I was doing a strip tease for him while he was in bed and as I let my dress drop I stuck my bum out so it was right near him and he screamed at the top of his voice “what the fuck is that!?” And then jumped out of bed and got in my face making me fall on to the bed and screamed “who the fuck did that!?” It took me a couple of seconds to realise what he meant. If he asked normally I’d have said “Emily slapped my arse”. Also I wasn’t drunk like so many people said. I had three glasses of wine over 6 hours. All the men who said a married woman shouldn’t be out without her husband, and there was at least five of you, are gross. My husband goes out every weekend but I do it three times a year and I’m “for the streets”. People asked about our sex life. We used to have sex or I’d give him oral nearly every day but the last few months it’s dried up to once a week. I have brought this up with him as I need it more. Also the not so serious thing he found on my phone, which a lot of men took to mean I’d been messaging someone else, was a porn video I’d favourited because I like it. Right on to the update. It’s been over a week, he still doesn’t believe me and I’ve told him I want to split up with him. Emily offered to come round on the night and he said no. I’ve told him to speak to all my friends and he’s said no. When I said look at the rip in my dress from where i fell and my bloody knees he said that’s from me giving head. How aggressively does he think I dropped to my knees? He’s looked through my phone and found nothing. When I asked to look through his he said “no I’m not the one on trial here”. He’s woke me up three times in the night to berate me. He’s burnt all my going out clothes. He’s threatened to post photos and videos of me to show the world what a slag I am. He’s also grabbed me twice and pushed me on to the sofa once which I will be informing my brother about later when I see him for Mother’s Day. So all in all a shit week and I’ve told him to get the fuck out of my house and I’ll be divorcing him. He’s not worked for six months and has no savings and the house was mine before I met him and he’s never paid towards the mortgage or any repair or upkeep work so he’s getting fuck all. Relevant Comments Commenter 1: Can't work without trust. And he actively does NOT want to trust you. So... Bub-byyy! PS, I hope everything from here on out works out for you. OOP: That’s pretty much what ive said. I’ve never been treated as untrustworthy in any aspect of my life and I don’t like it Commenter 2: Girl get security cameras and for sure talk to your brother. If anyone shoved or laid hands on my family I wouldn’t even care about the jail time id face. OOP: I’ve already got them around my house and got dog watching cameras inside. Downvoted Commenter: I will never understand why women waste their time and life with men like this. He can't even afford to get upset. Make better choices OOP: He’s never acted like this before. This is the first time. Am I supposed to see in to the future? Commenter 3: He chose your outfit, he sent you out in the most provocative outfit he could. He's not been having sex with you as much as you'd like lately, and he jumps straight to you cheating. I reckon he's been cheating on you and wanted to set you up so he could claim you cheated on him. Then he can leave the relationship to be with his mistress. OOP: I think you’re right. Commenter 4: He's accusing you because he has something to hide for sure. He's messaging girls, watches OF, something. He's definitely thought about cheating. Good for you taking out the trash. OOP: I genuinely don’t care if he’s watching porn or subscribing to OF but there’s something going off if he won’t let me see his phone. Commenter 5: He refuses to accept the truth because it damages his ego. He is doubling down and refuses to be proven wrong. OOP: I said that’s why he won’t talk to my friends because he’s too proud to be wrong. Commenter 6: Sounds like he’s been cheating. Also weird that he hasn’t worked or put anything towards the house… no savings? Good riddance, the trash took itself out. What a bum. OOP: He was at uni when we met and since has floated around jobs and that’s it Commenter 7: good for you. You have to divorce him. How long were you married for? How did he take it? Imagine him having to explain why he's getting divorced--he threw a fit about the dumbest thing ever. OOP: Been together ten years married for four. He didn’t seem to care. Commenter 8: I bet your bottom dollar, he will walk away and (through divorce proceedings) you will end up having to pay him in lieu of equity for the house. OOP: I won’t pay him anything. It’s different here in England. The house predates him and any payments towards it have come from my bank account.   Update #2: April 1, 2026 (2.5 weeks later) UPDATE 2 my (35f) friend slapped my bum on a night out leaving a handprint. My husband (30f) doesn’t believe she did it. How to convince him? I’ve had a lot of messages from people asking for an update so here it is. It’s a pretty uneventful one as nothing has happened but I’ll try and clear things up. In my first update I mentioned kicking him out and he’s still out and I haven’t heard from him at all. My brother did go to see him and his brothers after Mother’s Day so maybe that’s why I haven’t heard from him. I did take some advice then and had new security cameras installed and lighting all around my house and changed every lock. I know it’s a bit paranoid but I’ve also screwed my letter box shut and got a postbox outside so he can’t pour anything nasty through there. I also change my company car every couple of days in case he’s put a tracker on it. I’m really overthinking it but just being sure. I also was a bit petty and posted a picture on my Instagram of me on all fours and Emily with her hand on my bum lol. I’m not sticking up for my ex here, but I do want to clear up the issue of him choosing my outfits. That’s always been my idea. I saw it on a film when I was younger and always thought it seemed sexy my partner choosing an outfit that they find me attractive in and it makes me excited to get home in it so he can see me in it again. I’ve also had a lot of messages from both men and women, sadly, insulting me for being out at that time and saying it’s embarrassing a woman of my age behaving in such a way. I’ve also had a few women message me and tell me that I’m a whore for doing a striptease for my husband and I’m degrading myself. No it’s not degrading to try and turn my husband on so he’ll bang me until the sun comes up. Women enjoy sex too. Anyway thank you everyone for caring it really means a lot ❤️. Relevant Comments Commenter 1: I hope you put in a police report about him pushing you around, destroying your clothes and threatening to post videos of you. You need it on record in case it escalates. OOP:It won’t escalate as I’m not with him anymore. Commenter 2: Has your man always been ok with you going out like that without him? I’m just curious OOP: Yeah never an issue before. In fact he’d encourage it. He goes out every weekend and it was never a problem on the odd occasion when I did. Commenter 3: What do you mean “your” house? You mean HIS house, that HE is payimg for? OOP: No MY house that I bought before I was with him and that he has never paid towards the mortgage or repairs on. How misogynistic that you assume because he’s the man he’s paying for it. He hasn’t worked for six months and when he did he earned minimum wage. Commenter 4: Take a vacation. Just leave for a while. Don't tell anyone who speaks to this man where you are going. Absolute silence will help cool the situation hopefully. Also install a camera outside that looks onto your front doors. This guy sounds like a real loser. Stay safe and don't let him a second of your time. If he has stuff at your place dump it at someone else's house and let that person say they have his stuff . Check your phone for tracking software to. Stay safe OOP: I’m already booked to go to Karakow next week anyway. OOP responds to multiple downvoted comments about Mother's Day isn't until May OOP: Not everywhere is America.   DO NOT COMMENT IN LINKED POSTS OR MESSAGE OOPs – BoRU Rule #7 THIS IS A REPOST SUB - I AM NOT OOP submitted by /u/Choice_Evidence1983 to r/BestofRedditorUpdates [link] [comments]

[Hated Design's] Ryan Ottley drawing women [Invincible + commissions]
Slide 1: commission drawing of Invincible and Atom Eve Slide 2: commission drawing of just Atom Eve Slide 3: commission drawing of Jean Grey from X-men Slide 4: commission drawing of Wonder Women Slide 5: commission drawing of Supergirl Slide 6: Anissa from Invincible Slide 7: Thresha from Invincible Slide 8: Monster Girl from Invincible Slide 9: Universa from invincible Slide 10: Mary Jane from a Spiderman run he did Slide 11 (hard to see): Lucans Wife, Miranda, in the middle bottom panel Before I go into depth on my reason, I need to preface this by saying that Ryan Ottley is an exceptional artist and has truly mastered the craft and honed in his style. He is fantastic at creating fights that ooze with dynamism and gesture. Almost any page that he crafts requires a good minute to fully take in the love and work that he put into creating it. Of course, credit needs to be given to the amazing colorist who colored for him when he drew issues, FCO Plascensia, who only elevated Ottleys' work by giving it this depth that REALLY made his artwork pop out; this goes especially when there is gore because the way blood is colored just adds to the brutality. He's also exceptional at drawing facial expressions (the one instance that comes to mind is that scene in the backyard where Eve's dad is with Mark, and the expressions that this fat bastard makes just add into just how smug and disgusting he is as a human). To think he had to create all of these beautiful panels and pages on a deadline is nothing short of spectacular because they came out looking gorgeous. However, despite having a lot of highs when it comes to drawing, women is sadly not one of them and here's why: The Faces: To put it simply, it is a case of very obnoxious same face syndrome. One of the first things that will stick out to readers are the humongous botox injected lips that every women he draws has. Regardless of if their human, Viltrumite, or shark humanoid like Thresha in slide 7, it's always a staple and i loathe it. In my opinion, it falls into a bit of Uncanny Valley and that much is expressed through Anissa herself. I personally think Anissa is up there with one of the ugliest characters in all of Invincible, up there with Eve's dad, because of how much her facial features are turned up to a hundred. I can't put EXACTLY into words what about her design in slide 6 makes her look uncanny, but she genuinely looks like a skinwalker. I say this as a semi positive because it matches well with her character knowing what she does right after this panel, its a fitting design for an evil and unforgivable character. The eyes are also copy and pasted, I understand it's the art style but its the exact same shape, even on the alien characters. There isn't any variety to them at all compared to real life. This is a reach because it is just an art style thing in the end but it wouldn't hurt to see more distinct eye shapes for some of these characters. Their head structures: All of them, if not most of them, have the same exact head structure. With their horizontally challenged heads and chins sharp enough to cut vibranium, there is a lot left to be desired in terms of diverse head structure. You guys know that scene from regular show where Mordecai is flipping through that design book where every character is the exact same with with different costumes? It applies here but with Atom Eve as a replacement. Like every character from slide 1 to 6 legit looks like the same person. Their outfits (personal preference): This is a personal preference and can be dismissed but HOLY FUCK please put some clothes on these women because why are most of them half naked. Like look at Monster girl on slide 8, that dress looks like it's barely hanging on and I refuse to believe any person would wear that. You too Universa (slide 9), put some god damn pants on and cover yourself up. You're a proud and noble warrior fighting to siphon energy to save your dying world, not a goddamn Only Fans model doing a shitty cosplay. In conclusion, Ryan Ottley is a great artist submitted by /u/Academic-Edge to r/TopCharacterDesigns [link] [comments]

My boss got fired for groping me. A coworker just told me it “wasn’t not my fault.”
My boss (who was double my age) recently got fired after things escalated to him groping me in his office and begging me to leave my husband for him. It was insane. He had a reputation for being creepy with women, but I kept giving him the benefit of the doubt until it crossed a line I couldn’t ignore. Obviously he’s gone now, but I’m the one left dealing with the fallout and trying to move on. Today another woman at work asked if I’d heard from him since he was fired. I said yes, but honestly I’m trying to move forward and it bugs me that people keep asking me about him. Everyone knew he was obsessed with me. I’m not saying that in an ego way — my self-esteem is actually pretty terrible — but it was obvious. The way he hovered around me, the way he treated me compared to everyone else, how possessive and controlling he was. She then says something like: “Yeah he was obsessed with you. It wasn’t your fault… but it also wasn’t not your fault.” I asked her what that meant. She said she didn’t want to say because it would be mean. I told her at that point she might as well just say it. Apparently she and a few others at work used to talk about how they couldn’t believe the outfits I’d wear knowing how creepy and obsessed he was with me. For context: I’ve always had a very large chest. Before a breast reduction I had 3 months ago I was a 32K. My body type meant my chest was noticeable no matter what I wore. I’ve gotten comments about it my entire life. But the thing is… it didn’t matter what I wore. One time I was literally wearing leggings and a hoodie and he told me I “looked horny.” Even HR made a comment about my body while writing up the complaint, saying “I could see why he had feelings for you. You have an attractive figure.” He sexualized ME. My clothes didn’t matter. I was honestly shocked hearing another woman imply that somehow I contributed to his behavior because of what I wore or because of how my body looked. I can’t stop thinking about the fact that people apparently watched this whole situation unfold and still landed on: “Maybe she shouldn’t have dressed like that.” Is victim blaming really still this common?? submitted by /u/Pretty-Rain-5756 to r/TwoXChromosomes [link] [comments]

My (35f) friend slapped my bum on a night out leaving a handprint. My husband (30m) doesn’t believe it was her. How to convince him?
I am NOT OOP, OOP is u/throwra_bumprint Originally posted to r/WhatShouldIDo My (35f) friend slapped my bum on a night out leaving a handprint. My husband (30m) doesn’t believe it was her. How to convince him?

My best friend roasted a guy so bad he left the party we were at.
My [then 27M] and my best friend [then 26M] were at a party a while ago. It was mostly people we knew. Some close friends, others acquaintances. One guy showed up that my buddy and I cant stand. Lets call him Daniel. My best friend and I are usually polite to Daniel and tolerate him as he's pretty much embedded in our social circle. However he has always rubbed us the wrong way, to say the least. Over the years, he has proven himself serial monogamous type guy at best. Predator at worst. Daniel has this habit of dating girls in our social circle (and any new female who gets brought around), fucking them for a week or two and then ghosting them. When the women get upset, this asshole tells anyone who will listen that the girl is crazy and/or a stalker. You get the picture. There were even rumors of him briefly dating a minor, although no one could prove it. The thing that pissed my best friend off the most is that Daniel targeted his older sister one night when she was fall down drunk. Luckily we were there and wouldnt let him take her home even though he swore up and down he would make sure she got home safe. Hell no. No way we were going to let this scum bag take her anywhere that night. Back to the night in question. Daniel showed up in blue jeans, a bright red karate gi top, a black belt, and a headband with a kana symbol on it. He was the kind of guy who would experiment with all kinds of eccentric outfits. However, this time it didnt take long for people to start making fun of him. My friend and I just drank beer and enjoyed all the quips thrown at Daniel for his outfit. For the most part, he just sort of laughed it off, but we could tell it was bothering him. It was obvious he thought he expected to get a ton of compliments, but what he got was jeers and hilarious jokes about his appearance. Later that night a bunch of us were sitting around a large table, including Daniel. Someone asked if Daniel came here directly from the YMCA karate class. We all laughed. That was when my best friend chimed in and said: "Guys...Come on....Give Daniel a break...." I saw the relief in Daniel's face at having someone stick up for him. Then my friend continued: "I mean....Hasn't he had a hard enough time? Dont you remember when he was trying to ride his bike home and Cobra Kai knocked him down that hill??" Im here to tell you...The laughter was DEAFENING! I actually fell out of my chair thinking I was gonna piss myself. My best friend's timing was PERFECT, and he said it loud enough for half the party to hear it. Daniel had had enough. He took his headband off and just left. We were all still laughing long after the door closed behind him. This happened quite a long time ago, but we still laugh about it. Edit: It should be mentioned that the night Daniel tried to take my best friend's drunk sister home, there was a much stronger reaction than I lead on. My best friend got in Daniel's face aggressively and there was almost a fight. My best friend and I tolerated him up till that point. After this happened though, he was pariah to us. Also, the last time I saw Daniel before I moved a few states away, he crashed a house party my best friend and I were hosting (we lived together at the time). It didnt take long for Daniel to piss me off and I kicked him out. He started talking shit to a friend of mine outside and Daniel ended up getting his ass kicked. Our social circle got smaller and smaller until I moved. I am a lot pickier about the social gathering I go to now. Edit 2: It was pointed out to me that calling Daniel a serial monogamous person was inaccurate. I agree it was a poor choice of words. Fuckboy is way more accurate. Predator works too. Also...There are always going to be people who think a story is fake...I just cant understand for the life of me why anyone would think this was AI. This account is 14 years old...And the post even had grammatical errors. I can assure you..This all happened. submitted by /u/Whiskeybent341 to r/pettyrevenge [link] [comments]

Women in tech — what’s your typical work outfit?
I work in tech and my role varies between office with more hands on work, so I’m finding it hard to build a consistent work wardrobe. I’d love to hear what other women in tech typically wear to work…especially if your environment isn’t strictly corporate or business formal. Thank you submitted by

Dating Apps Don't Work for Women With Standards, Prove Me Wrong
I think I finally snapped today. I matched with a guy on Bumble. Normal conversation. Respectful. Nothing sexual. He asked to move to Snapchat, I agreed. I genuinely thought, okay, this one might be normal. Then out of nowhere he sends me an unsolicited dick pic. No warning. No consent. Just instant sexualization. That moment summed up every dating app experience I've had, and I'm done pretending this is just "bad luck." There is a serious social problem here, not even in a funny way. For context: I already had a bad image of dating apps, but I don't really have alternatives, and tried to be open minded and try it out. I'm a student in Canada, I don't have a big social circle here, and I'm mostly home. It's winter everyone stays inside. I also go back home to visit my family whenever I can, so I'm rarely around long enough to build some active social life. I have tried meeting men in real life parties, being out in the summer and honestly? Same pattern. Bad hygiene, lack of respect, overly sexual behavior, or straight-up immaturity. It's no different from the apps. I've tried Bumble. I've tried Hinge. They all suck. Most of my likes are from men who are not just unattractive to me, but clearly do not take care of themselves. Bad grooming, sloppy photos, zero effort. And I'm sorry, but that's disrespectful. If you're on a dating app trying to meet someone, even casually, showing up unpolished is the bare minimum. I take care of myself. Hair done. Clean face. Nice outfits. Good pictures. Not because I'm vain ,because it's basic respect. Why is that expectation apparently outrageous when it comes to men? Here's the pattern I keep seeing: • Men who are attractive don't want anything serious. • Men who want something serious are men who are mid and seem to not have much options so they obsess over you(still sexualizes) •The most mediocre men somehow have the most audacity and entitlement. In general I feel like most of them just put O effort in convos, plans and seriousness altogether. Mind you these are 22-30 years old men. One guy literally told me I should skip my university classes to go on a date with him. Another thought sending explicit pictures to a stranger was acceptable behavior. This is the bar? I'm 20, and I'm honestly flabbergasted by how horrible it is. So I'm asking women who are older or more experienced than me, and please be brutally honest: Is it actually possible to find a man who is attractive, clean, respectful, emotionally normal, I, and serious? Or are women just expected to: • settle for someone they're not attracted to, • "fix" a man, teach him hygiene and basic decency, • or pick the least awful option and adapt? Should | just delete the apps altogether and buy a cute puppy? submitted by /u/Delicious-Gate-8192 to r/TwoXChromosomes [link] [comments]

Female work outfit for professor at community college
I am a female college professor and have meetings and teaching coming up. The men in the department wear “business casual” consisting of jeans, collared polo, and sneakers. I know people don’t always take women as seriously as men in professional settings depending on their outfits. What would be the equivalent outfit for me? Trousers? Jeans? Blouse? Cardigan? Blazer? I like to dress up but also don’t want to come across as too dressed up if everyone else is always more casual, or does that matter? Thanks in advance. Edit to add : I am 30 years old. In STEM. And will be teaching labs + lectures. submitted by /u/Outrageous_Oven_2114 to r/Professors [link] [comments]

Why Can’t I Like Ariana?!
I’m on my like, 5th rewatch. And I’m about to wrap up season 11. I really tried this time to like and be neutral about Ariana. But I just cannot stand her. I am absolutely not a Tom apologist. When the man cries in the reunion and at the end of season 10, I’m at the point where I just openly mock the hell out of him. He comes across more and more like a sociopath the more I rewatch. But MY GOD I cannot stand Ariana. She is such an entitled, annoying person with the aura of a high school aged bully. The face she makes when she dislikes someone is that of a 16 year old dissing the outfit of another 16 year old. This is before she was cheated on. Which by the way, I cannot fathom how many women are cheated on everyday, in months long affairs, that still act like WOMEN and not a spoiled little girl. My closest theory, is that I personally cannot stand grown ass adults who are so obviously deeply insecure, that they become bitchy and entitled to hide how much they hate themselves. People mistake Katie for being like this. But Katie is extremely emotionally intuitive, she doesn’t hide her insecurities, she worked through them, and blossomed beautifully. submitted by /u/anonaneechie to r/vanderpumprules [link] [comments]

Those who say the burqa is a 'choice' should have seen my father beat my mother for rejecting it
Do not tell me that wearing a burqa is a matter of choice for Muslim women. I know that is a lie, because my mother confronted the lie and paid a hideous price for her courage. When men tell women – whatever their religion or race – what clothes to wear and how to dress ‘modestly’ or cover up, they are committing a form of abuse. And they are doing it in view of the whole world. It is society’s obligation to prevent this coercion, bullying and intimidation of women – not to excuse or condone it, as the Left wants to do. This week, howls of Left-wing outrage met Australian senator Pauline Hanson, who wore a burqa in parliament in protest at the senate rejecting her bill to ban the garment. She was swiftly suspended from parliament for a week and labelled a ‘racist’ by opponents. Similar accusations have been levelled at politicians in this country who dare to challenge the religious dogma that forces women to cover up. The problem here is not Hanson’s stunt, nor calls to ban the burqa – the most concealing of Islamic veils that covers the entire face and body, often leaving just a mesh screen to see through. The problem is this: in refusing to countenance any criticism surrounding the burqa, the Left is tolerating the abuse of women. And what else can you call it but abuse, when men tell their wives, sisters and daughters to cover themselves from head to foot because to show one scrap of flesh risks inflaming male passions? The burqa exists to force women into hiding. It proclaims that their very existence is sinful and that any woman who does not conceal herself entirely in a bag is sexually immoral – a ‘wh***’ and a ‘harlot’ bringing shame upon all the men in her family. Not only does the burqa degrade and humiliate women who wear it, it encourages Muslim men to assume that women from other cultures are sexually available. When I was growing up in Pakistan, I was told innumerable times that white women in Europe were all essentially prostitutes, in part because they dressed ‘without modesty’. One sickening consequence of such prejudices is the systematic abuse of young white girls in British towns and cities such as Rotherham and Bradford, as well as predatory attacks on young women by male migrants who have sometimes been in the UK for just a few days. The banning of the burqa needs to be done for the protection of all women. My mother and grandmother were among the first wave of feminists in Pakistan. But my father was a religious conservative and a traditionalist, who thought he should be lord and master over all the women in our family. When I was 15, he presented my sister and me with the most beautiful, colourful hijabs, or headscarves. This was quite cunning of him, because although we had never worn them before, both of us loved pretty clothes. He was full of praise as he showed us how to put them on. For the next couple of days, as we wore our hijabs to school, we basked in our father’s admiration. But on the third day, when I chose to wear something else, he erupted in a rage. I was shocked. Surely he knew that I never wore the same outfit more than two days in a row. ‘This is not like your other clothes,’ he yelled. ‘You cannot take it off just because you don’t feel like wearing it. Put it on now! Now you’ve started, you must always wear it. You have no choice!’ I’ve always remembered that. ‘You have no choice.’ Even 30 years later, the memory makes my blood run cold. But what happened next was far worse. Scared and feeling powerless, I wore the hijab to school next day. It no longer felt like a pretty headscarf but an oppressive uniform, something imposed to make me feel ashamed of myself. When my sister and I came home that day, my mother and father were at each other’s throats, literally fighting – a row of a kind we had never witnessed before. It was terrifying. I stood in front of my sister to shield her and my mother came running towards us. She seized the hijab and tore it off my head. ‘I did not give birth to slaves,’ she shouted. ‘My girls will never wear the hijab or the burqa, or whatever else it is you want them to wear.’ That should have been the end of it. But we watched, horrified and afraid to move, as our father began to beat our mother, slapping and punching her as a punishment for defying him. When the fight was over, she refused to be cowed. ‘You will never wear the hijab,’ she told us. And we never did. But our mother continued to bear the brunt of his anger. When he realised that beating her would not work, he began to withhold money, so she could not buy herself clothes and other basic necessities. He had a paying job and she didn’t. The message was chilling: as his housewife, she had to obey him or suffer the consequences. Whenever I see a woman in a burqa, I know I am looking at coercion in the raw. It sickens me that the liberal Left in Britain refuse to recognise this. Feminists have fought for decades to overturn the misogynistic attitude that women should dress to please men. Only a few decades ago, police and judges took the view too often that a woman in a revealing outfit was ‘asking for it’ – and, if she was sexually assaulted, it was her own fault. Thankfully, that kind of chauvinism has been consigned to the dustbin – except where it applies to Muslims. In their case, men can continue to oppress women with clothing, because it’s their ‘culture’. Britain has stood up to cultural horrors before. Female genital mutilation, an abhorrent practice that is commonplace across Africa, has been outlawed in this country since 1985, with the laws tightened at the beginning of this century. And in the Victorian era, Britain banned the Indian custom of suttee, which saw Hindu widows burned alive on their husbands’ funeral pyres. The wearing of the burqa ought to be unacceptable too. In many countries, it already is. France and Portugal have introduced bans, which were greeted by low-level protests that soon petered out. Research from the School of Economics in Paris in 2022 showed that banning the burqa and the hijab headscarf (as well as the niqab, a full-length covering that does not mask the eyes) has had positive effects on education. Freed of this restrictive clothing, girls are getting better grades. Most tellingly, many countries where Muslims are the majority, such as Uzbekistan and Morocco, have also outlawed the full burqa with face coverings. In part this is a security measure but it is also done to discourage Islamist extremism. That reason alone is a convincing argument for a ban. But I believe that Britain is finally coming to its senses. A few years ago, it was impossible to have a debate about the burqa. The Left, like my father, would simply respond with fury. We have to be courageous like Pauline Hanson and stand up to these people. My mother did it. And I am determined to follow her example. Hey everyone, how’s it going? I’m the original artist behind this drawing. I was caught off guard when I found my work here, and after reading through the comments, I thought it’d be good to clarify a few things
First, my intention wasn’t to depict a bar, what I wanted to show was a work break, like coworkers gathering in a corner to chat about random things. I’ve always enjoyed illustrations that bring superhero fantasy into a more mundane context; portraying these characters’ daily lives almost like an office job has always felt like a fun way to explore that idea. It makes them feel more tangible and relatable. That leads into my second point: yes, I’m a porn artist. I make illustrations specifically meant to be erotic and provocative (often explicit), and this piece is no exception. The idea was to show Kamala’s new, more provocative look. It’s pretty erotic, and clearly, pretty shameless about it. While I do have a reasonably logical explanation for why an older version of her might wear something like that, I agree that, canonically, this outfit doesn’t really make sense for her. Honestly, if she showed up wearing Carol Danvers’ original costume, I’d already be surprised. But again, my focus here was the erotic appeal, and that even influences the setting. As I said earlier, placing her in an everyday environment makes the whole scene, and the characters, feel more grounded. For me, showing Kamala in a relaxed pose, in a casual moment, makes her feel more real than putting her in an overtly sexualized pose. That’s also why I added Miles as a simple visual joke, and America to help build that conversational, lived-in atmosphere. Lastly, a lot of people didn’t like Kamala’s big nose. Some even called it a racist caricature. About that, I don’t have much to say other than the fact that I simply like women with big noses; I find it an attractive feature. I understand that no artwork exists in a vacuum, and that giving a character like Kamala a nose larger than usual can carry problematic connotations, but as some people pointed out, Kamala has already been officially depicted with a prominent nose. And honestly, I don’t think it’s that big. I mean, it is big, but not cartoonishly big, or at least not any more cartoonish than any other stylized feature in the characters in this work. submitted by /u/MellyKeyB to r/MilesMorales [link] [comments]

I keep seeing people comment on IG about women’s outfits saying “does no one wear a bra anymore?” Genuinely, it doesn’t matter.
Like the purpose of a bra is for support. If your girls don’t need to be supported, you don’t need a bra. I fucking hate wearing bras for modesty’s sake when I literally don’t need to be wearing one ever, they sit up just fine on their own. I get that it’s not a perfect world and that I’ve gotta wear one to work and stuff but like these comments are just about people walking around on the streets not wearing a bra. Why is that an issue? Who cares if they aren’t wearing bras? It’s always women saying it to. I don’t get it. submitted by /u/TrickFail4505 to r/Vent [link] [comments]

Should Women Be Forced To Wear A Bra To Work?
I don’t wear bras. My mom who is HR is the only person in both personal and professional life that has said something and makes such a stink out of it. She has a lot of internalized misogyny. I start a new job Thursday and that was the talk she had with me and it wasn’t worth the fight because we had fights about it many times. But I do wonder why women are forced and shamed into wearing a bra at work when literally half the population has boobs. It is also through her that I think the only people who would file a complaint about it are women too. As much as men suck, I can’t see the high likelihood of them coming forward about another woman’s braless choice and complaining about it. I should also mention that she had a talk with a 30-something year old woman (younger than her) at work for her “tight” outfits. How she and other coworkers her age found it uncomfortable. And I feel that would be a discrimination lawsuit but when I said that she said it is policy to wear under garments which this worker agreed to. My mom has done this before and polices women in how they dress including me never wearing a bra. Although, depending on material, I wear pasties. I feel women should have a choice in this and the lines of what is or isn’t professional is entirely on misogynist values. Would armpit hair be “unprofessional” if a woman chose not to shave? How about tattoos? Would being without makeup be “unprofessional” too (also don’t wear makeup)? What certain hairstyles are viewed as “unprofessional”? At what point is it discrimination and have nothing to do about presenting professional? submitted by /u/Accomplished-Taro-34 to r/Feminism [link] [comments]

How do you feel about older animes representing women. It's know that women in Japan were underrepresented in the animation industry during the 80/90s. They mostly did clean-up work or worked in in-between's. How would you compare retro/older animes to today?
In my opinion, the anatomy back; during the 80/90s. was definitely better. Women looked sexy and had a lot of fanservice moments but it wasn't in horrible taste that leaned on objectification. But I would say the outfits definitely were out of control sometimes, I mean the whole pilot suits, and bath scenes were way worse back then and felt out of place. submitted by /u/BathroomNew9406 to r/mendrawingwomen [link] [comments]

Appropriate work outfits for early 20’s female
I’m a total fashion newbie. In school, I’ve always been a sweatpants, legging, sweater and t-shirt kind of girl. Now that I have to work in office, I don’t really know what’s to wear for as an early 20 female. I know age isn’t a factor of how we can or should dress. But I just want to wear something thats with my comfort zone and appropriate. From what I observed at my work it’s more smart casual than casual (while older generation/ senior management with suits).I’m kind of aiming for a more minimalist and smart casual look. The pics above are from insta and I’m wondering if these are appropriate workwear. For tanks I planned to wear a cardigan/ blazer over. Feel free to drop influencers name that I should follow to get inspiration. Thanks! submitted by /u/Embarrassed_790 to r/PetiteFashionAdvice [link] [comments]
