If you own an A-iPower GXS7100iRD / GXS7600iRD, don’t overpay for the battery like I did
I went down a deep rabbit hole trying to find a replacement battery for my A-iPower GXS7100iRD generator, assuming it was some kind of proprietary part. It is not, and I ended up wasting time and paying more than double what was necessary. I feel scammed but not in any actionable way. I bought a “generator-specific” replacement on eBay for about $50 because the listing made it sound like this was a unique fit for the unit. When it arrived, I found an Amazon Marketplace shipping label from Battery Sharks was included in the box. The reseller/drop-shipper paid $19 for it. I paid 150% markup for a standard 12V sealed lead-acid battery. The specs are nothing unusual. It’s a 12V SLA AGM battery in the ~3.5Ah to 5Ah range, and roughly 114 x 70 x 85 mm. Nothing special about it. It's a motorcycle battery. What tripped me up is, first, having no experience with SLAs, battery chemistry, or the absolute necessity that they be frequently trickle-charged at the risk of complete bricking. I was focused on getting a 5Ah replacement at this size, which is very difficult. Searching with the generator model number mostly leads to marked-up listings that position the battery as a special replacement part. If instead you search by the battery type (for example, YTX4L-BS or similar equivalents) and dimensions, you’ll find the same thing widely available for closer to $15–$25 from normal battery retailers or Amazon. Functionally, a 3.5Ah battery will work fine for starting, but if you have space for a 5Ah version, it gives you a bit more margin if the generator sits unused for a while. So go for the commodity battery, not a proprietary component. If you search by the generator model, you’re more likely to overpay. But if you search by voltage, chemistry, size, and terminal type, you’ll find the exact same thing at a much lower price. I got a “Genuine SigmasTek YTX4L-BS / STX4L-BS Sealed Maintenance Free ATV Quad Motorcycle Scooter Moped Powersport Battery” as described on Amazon, while Battery Sharks has it as “Yuasa YTX4L-BS Battery (Replacement),” SKU STX4L-BS:144. submitted by /u/deadlyspoons to r/Generator [link] [comments]

Time for a Battery Upgrade ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
We've had some very low temps here in Florida for the past month and a half and when we had a frost warning several weeks ago, I started noticing that my cycle wouldn't start. The headlight would come on but flicker and the dash wouldn't come on at all. So I purchased a trickle charger which resolved the issue but quickly realized that if the cycle didn't remain on the charger overnight; I'd had the same issue the next day even when the temps began to go up a bit. So I had it taken to the shop for a diag and the tech tends to believe that the battery can't adequately carry the accessory load resulting in a parasitic drain. That said, although I told him the current accessories were installed since last year without any issues until recent. In my opinion, I think the battery was subpar to begin with; likely the result from the cycle setting on the showroom floor for considerable time before I'd purchased it. In either way, I am dumping the OEM battery for this Powertex Motorcycle PTX1 Lithium Battery b/c I researched and found that it has the same form factor as the original battery and is compatible with the Ninja Hybrids; but having considerably more CCA's. And b/c it's high performance lithium; it should be able to handle the accessory load better. There were alternatives that cost less but I don't mind the additional $$$ if it means resolving the issue. I'll post how it goes when the work is complete submitted by /u/Technical-Cut3421 to r/NinjaZ7Hybrid [link] [comments]

Battery Replacement Incorrect?
I have a 2022 Buddy 170i for out of my control reasons has sat for a couple years. I purchased a new battery from the same motorcycle shop where I bought it, but I'm not sure it's the right battery. It's much smaller.... The original is GTX7A-BS and I purchased a YTX4L-BS. Did I get the wrong battery? submitted by /u/Dry_Net6703 to r/scooters [link] [comments]

2017 Honda Grom Advice
Hello! I have a 2017 grom with a starting problem. Put a new battery in, all the lights and fuel pump kick on, but nothing from the electric start. The video is it on a charger, and it gets super close to starting but had to call it a night. Currently charging, but could it be because I got a cheap battery? Could the starter relay be a factor in this? Link for the battery I purchased Link to battery I got: https://www.amazon.com/Mighty-Max-Battery-12V-YTX4L-BS/dp/B00K537MGC/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8&th=1 submitted by /u/ApprehensiveSplit913 to r/hondagrom [link] [comments]

Explore the NOCO NLP5 Lithium Powersports Battery Review Packed with Exceptional Features!
The NOCO Lithium NLP5, Group 5, 250A Lithium LiFePO4 Motorcycle Battery, designed for motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, jet skis, scooters, and other powersports equipment, stands out as a compelling option for anyone seeking a high-performance, maintenance-free battery solution. Having spent ample time testing this product under various conditions, I’ve gone through its strengths, quirks, and limitations. It's worth diving deep into what this battery has to offer. Design and Build Quality I appreciate how compact yet robust this lithium-ion powersports battery feels. At just 1.11 pounds, it’s almost laughably lightweight compared to traditional lead-acid batteries. Carrying it around feels like holding a small water bottle, making the installation a breeze even for someone like me, who isn’t always comfortable tinkering with vehicle parts. The stud terminal design ensures a stable connection, while the painted exterior gives it a premium, scratch-resistant finish. Add in the removable mounting options, spacers, and multi-terminal setup, and the design caters to a wide variety of installations, from top to front-mount configurations. Performance Highlights The performance of this battery honestly left me impressed. Rated at 250 amps of starting power and capable of over 50,000 starts and 2,000 recharge cycles, this thing is a powerhouse. I’ve used it on my ATV during particularly cold mornings and didn’t face the sluggish startup issues typical of lead-acid batteries. Even after leaving it idle for a couple of weeks, it started up without hesitation. The insane recharge speed also deserves mention—5 minutes of charging was enough to supply starting power in a crunch situation. This isn’t just convenience; it’s peace of mind. Check NOCO NLP5 price on Amazon. Dynamic BMS and Advanced Safety Safety features matter, especially with lithium-ion batteries, and the built-in Dynamic Battery Management System (BMS) here nails it. No manual resets are required, and it actively monitors the cells for long-term performance and reliability. This automated system made me feel a lot more confident during high-demand usage scenarios. Whether powering my jet ski self-tests or my snowmobile on icy paths, I had no worries about overcharging or discharging issues. Broad Compatibility The versatility of this battery deserves a shout-out. It’s compatible with nearly every powersports brand I've encountered, from Honda and Kawasaki to Ducati and Polaris. I personally tried it with my riding lawn mower and my Vespa scooter, and there was zero hassle with fitment thanks to the modular trays and spacers included. Being able to replace various existing lead-acid models (like YTX4L-BS or YTZ7S) adds even more value, as it ensures broad applicability. Positives - Incredible recharge speed—ready to go in minutes. - Lightweight but sturdy design for easy handling. - Long-lasting, with more than double the power compared to lead-acid models. Areas for Improvement - The price might feel steep for casual users not seeking high-performance results. - While the instructions are clear, I found the initial setup a bit finicky due to the multiple spacer options. - The battery isn’t ideal if you don’t use your vehicles frequently or need to store long-term items—it’s better for regular usage. Challengers Comparing this to other powersports lithium batteries, the closest rival in my experience has been the Shorai LFX Battery. Shorai’s build is similarly lightweight and high performance, yet it falls short in terms of overall starting power, as well as the included accessories (spacers and tools). The NOCO choice comes fully packaged, while Shorai users often have to manage additional purchases. Similarly, Antigravity batteries are known for their premium lithium tech, but I’ve found the recharge speeds slower than NOCO. What stands out uniquely for NOCO is its Dynamic BMS. Competitors still haven't struck this perfect balance between performance and safety. Quality for Price Pricing might initially seem like a hurdle, but it’s worth keeping the perspective of longevity in mind. A typical lead-acid battery will last about two years with heavy use, while this product stretches to five or beyond with half the maintenance. It’s not about the upfront cost but rather the overall cost of ownership—this is where the battery shines. If you’re running equipment frequently, the higher initial price pays off by cutting future replacement and maintenance expenses. The consistently excellent performance doesn’t hurt either! 2021 Honda CR110F Battery
It looks like the battery size is a YTX4L-BS for it, but I'm wanting to swap that out for a Noco Lithium Powersport battery, but the smallest size that make is a NLP5. Does anybody know if that will fit/work in my bike? submitted by /u/Mr_Ghostlore to r/Dirtbikes [link] [comments]

Battery for pre-1996 DR
I just got my first bike, a 1991 DR650 and I'm stoked! The battery is completely dead and its an AGM YTX4L-BS. I doubt this is the right battery. Can anyone tell me what the right one is? Can these older bikes use an AGM battery? Some older bikes are designed to boil off the battery under certain conditions which can be bad news with an AGM. I'm not sure if this bike is like that. Thanks! submitted by /u/Staycation1234 to r/dr650 [link] [comments]

YTX4L-BS Battery Terminals Different - Honda CT110
Hi all, I've bought a new YTX4L-BS battery for my Honda CT110 postie bike and the terminals are slightly different. All the same apart from a raised section at the back which doesn't allow me to install the positive lead due to its design. Is this by design to prevent the wrong battery to be installed or is it just an odd design by the manufacturer? The new Century battery is 3AH whereas the old YUASA battery looks to be 4AH (it doesn't say specifically but going by the charging current it looks to be 4AH). Reason for replacing the old battery is because it's been left in storage for a few years in the bike and has drained down to 0.3V Any advice would be great, cheers submitted by /u/GW4RD3R to r/motorcycles [link] [comments]

YB4L-A vs YTX4L-BS?
I ordered a new battery to match the specs of my existing (stock) battery, but the store gave me a different model number. Scooter is a Piaggio Zip50 2T. The only differences I can see are: 4Ah vs 3Ah 45 CCA vs 50 CCA (YB4L-A vs YTX4L-BS) Will I be okay with the new model (YTX4L-BS)? Thanks :) submitted by /u/nicnicnics to r/scooters [link] [comments]
