I bought the monitor without the glasses. Its an okay 144hz TN panel that I had been taking to Quakecon up until a couple years ago. Theres nothing special about it as far as i can tell apart from the decent refresh rate for its time. Had the big dumb looking 3D logo on the stand though.

Grexeno said: PF insists on using the terrible DN strat instead of using Banana Codex, which they already use for Rep2! Its not the strat, I literally can't see the clone jumps even on a 144Hz monitor. It just turns into a blur most of the time. Sometimes I can see it. Even after 7 clears I'm just guessing on it most of the time. I absolutely hate the mechanic.

RE:Upgrading my gpu
What resolution/frame rate is your monitor? 7900XTX is going to give you quite a jump in performance (majority of games - 1440p at 144hz+, some games at 4K and high frame rates). But if you use/prefer ray tracing and/or DLSS, Nvidia will be a better bet. https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-3060-vs-AMD-RX-7900-XTX/4105vs4142

Recommendations for a 24-inch IPS 1080p 144hz Monitor for Creative Workload and Gaming
Hello po, eto po parts ng na-quote sa'kin (no SSD listed since I already bought one), I'm not sure what monitor to get with a budget of 6k below. Any recommendations po with the best longevity and color accuracy? I read around here that it's best to stay away from Nvision. I saw an affordable AOC IPS but apparently it tends to get LCD lines later down the line (can anyone attest to this please). ViewSonic, Xiaomi, and Koorui are the recommended as far as I can tell-- and from the monitor buying guide-- but I'm not sure which models to get submitted by /u/Axis_Myriad0128 to r/PHbuildapc [link] [comments]

Want to get a 1440p 144Hz monitor for my PS5. Need help with HDMI 2.1
I have heard that ps5 supports 120Hz only over hdmi2.1. I am not sure if the monitor (one of my potential candidates in picture) has one. Product description says nothing about HDMI 2.1 and the questions are inconclusive. Can someone who owns Ultragear (or a monitor with hdmi 2.1) help me make an informed purchase? submitted by /u/newbieRedditorAJ to r/IndianGaming [link] [comments]

Looking for a good 1440p 144hz monitor
I have two monitors atm but it's the classic nice monitor and the monitor that you randomly found in the basement that runs at 720p kind of monitor. I want to replace it with a 1440p 144hz to make as my main monitor. Looking for something in the $200-low 300's price range and at least 23inches. Wondered if anyone had good recommendations submitted by /u/golden11six to r/buildapc [link] [comments]

A different take on monitor refresh rates (and the actual fact why 60hz to 144hz is the biggest jump and 144hz to 240hz not so much)
When we talk about refresh rates, we talk about a frequency in which the monitor refreshes the image on screen every second. We refer to that as hertz (hz). So for marketing this is a very easy number to advertise. Same as the Ghz wars back in the day with the CPUs. The benefit we receive we have to measure in frametimes, which is the actual time between frames in which the monitor gives a fresh image. For 60hz, we receive a new frame every 16.66 milliseconds. The jump to 144hz, in which we receive a new frame every 6.94 ms, means we shave off a total of 9.72 ms of waiting for the monitor to show a new image when we do this upgrade. 240hz means we receive a new frame every 4.16 ms. So from 144hz (6.94 ms) we shave a total of 2.78 ms. To put it in context, this is lower than the amount of frametimes we reduce when we upgrade from 60hz to 75hz - 3.33 ms 75hz to 100hz - 3.33 ms 100hz to 144hz - 3.06 ms This doesn't mean it isn't noticeable. It is, specially for very fast paced and competitive games, but for the average person 144hz is more than enough to have a smooth performance. But what about 360hz monitors? These deliver a new frame every 2.78 ms. So the jump from 240hz to 360hz cuts 1.39 ms in frametimes. I would argue this is where it starts to get tricker to notice the difference. This jump from 240hz to 360hz is the exact same in frametimes as going from 120hz to 144hz. So to have it clean and tidy 60hz to 144hz = 9.72 ms difference in frametimes 144hz to 240hz = 2.78 ms difference 240hz to 360hz = 1.39 ms difference I hope this helps to clear some things out. submitted by /u/ashrobb to r/buildapc [link] [comments]

Is it worth to get a 1440p,144hz monitor or a 1080p, 144hz monitor for a 2060 Super with Ryzen 5 3600?
I've seen the benchmarks on YT and I noticed that at 1440p 144hz, the 2060S takes quite a hit on fps on some games as opposed to the smooth high fps gameplay on a 1080p setting... I'm wondering if it's worth to take a 1440p monitor for future proofing or just pick the safer, smoother route which is with the 1080p monitor.. submitted by /u/Dotaspasm to r/buildapc [link] [comments]

Monitors are not 144Hz Out of the Box
Just in this one day, I’ve helped two people, who both had 144Hz monitors, but had them running at 60Hz, believing that their monitors were already 144Hz out of the box. Please make sure that if you do get a 144Hz monitor, you change the refresh rate in settings! Edit: Glad to see many people who can finally use their monitor’s full potential! submitted by /u/BlueThunder37 to r/buildapc [link] [comments]

3 years ago I bought a 144hz monitor to improve my CSGO skills. Today I found out my settings is at 60hz.
Feel really dumb and a waste of $300... Anyways, first thing I noticed is I see through HE grenade smokes when it explodes more clearly now than when I have it on 60hz... Is this a benefit of 144hz or is my brain just playing tricks with me? Don't buy a 144hz monitor unless you're prepared to never use 60hz again.
Title. After using/gaming on my 144hz Viewsonic Xg2401 for a few months, It's painful to use a 60hz Asus or Dell monitor. 144hz is so much smoother, not only in games when pushing 144 fps, but also just for general use. Watching videos, web browsing. It feels and looks so much smoother. Don't make the jump unless you're prepared to never go back. That's my opinion. submitted by /u/cben27 to r/buildapc [link] [comments]

To those getting a 144hz monitor tomorrow: Make sure you have 144hz enabled in Windows display settings
I've had my PC for 3 weeks and thought I've been using 144hz this whole time, but when calibrating my monitors today I noticed they were sitting at 60hz still. Here is how you check, of course you need a monitor capable of 144hz and a DisplayPort, Dual-link DVI or HDMI 2.0 connection. Picture Guide Right-click your desktop and choose Display settings Scroll down and select Display adapter properties In the properties window click on List All Modes Scroll down and choose your desired mode (e.g. 144hz) and apply If you have more than one monitor you will need to select the other monitor in windows display and repeat steps Hopes this helps some others who weren't aware of the setting. I'm not sure if Nvidia has the option natively in the menu but I couldn't find it my AMD settings. Edit: A couple people pointed out Nvidia has the option in its settings, and also apparently HDMI 2.0 supports 144hz. Edit: Woke up to my first gold this morning. This is the best Christmas ever! Thank you :) To the Ebenezer Scrooges calling us noobs, etc... for not knowing. I'm sure that like me, many just assumed buying a 144hz monitor, would well, be in 144hz. There is no shame in learning. Merry Christmas everyone! submitted by /u/theWinterDojer to r/buildapc [link] [comments]
