Is Vegan Shrimp trending?

Vegan Shrimp declining with a month-over-month change of -3.91% over the past 5 years, though it still receives approximately 12,100 monthly searches.

This is a seasonal trend that peaks every March. The seasonal demand is forecasted to grow over the next year.

Why is Vegan Shrimp trending?

1
Rising Demand for Plant-Based Alternatives
As more people adopt a plant-based diet or reduce their consumption of animal products, there is a growing demand for plant-based alternatives to traditional meat and seafood. Vegan shrimp is one such alternative that appeals to those who want to enjoy the taste and texture of shrimp without harming animals or the environment.
2
Sustainability
Traditional shrimp farming and fishing practices can have a negative impact on the environment, including overfishing, habitat destruction, and pollution. Vegan shrimp offers a more sustainable alternative that does not contribute to these issues.
3
Health Benefits
Vegan shrimp is typically lower in calories, fat, and cholesterol than traditional shrimp, making it a healthier option for those looking to reduce their intake of these nutrients. It is also free from harmful contaminants such as mercury and antibiotics that can be found in some seafood.
4
Versatility
Vegan shrimp can be used in a variety of dishes, from stir-fries and salads to tacos and sushi rolls. Its versatility makes it a popular ingredient for those looking to add more plant-based options to their diet.
5
Innovation in Plant-Based Foods
As the plant-based food industry continues to grow and innovate, new products such as vegan shrimp are being developed to meet the demand for more sustainable and ethical food options. This trend is likely to continue as more consumers become aware of the benefits of plant-based eating.

I’d like to share what I consider my crowning achievement.
I’m the head chef for a new restaurant that calls itself Community Kitchen + Taproom. It’s in no way influenced by the show but I’ve always sort of snickered at the name because of it. In fact, the owners are avid hiking enthusiasts and wanted every item on the menu to have some sort of outdoorsy, camp/hiking name influenced. When I developed a new menu item the opportunity for a little subtle Community Easter egg/inside joke popped up: “Daybreak.” I had to *sell* the name to the owners, “you know! You’re out, want to take a little break from the hike: DAYBREAK!” Two weeks later it’s being ordered. Fellow human beings, when you come to Community you too can have a Daybreak. submitted by /u/VinBarrKRO to r/community [link] [comments]

What would you do with vegan shrimp?
I have come into position of 200g of vegan shrimp. I made some summer roll / salad rolls with rice paper and rice noodles with them, and I have skewers so I was thinking about making like, sweet n sour shrimp’nt skewers. But other than that, I’m out of ideas. I got them because they were on sale but I realize I never really craved shrimp before I became vegan, and I haven’t ever had them either, LOL. I really enjoy Japanese and Vietnamese food, but I’m open to trying other recipes and cuisines! Bought this locally made kimchi as it was labeled as vegan on the front yet after I got home noticed the ingredient list includes shrimp and anchovies?
I'm a big kimchi lover but it's so hard to find good vegan ones and it always seems as soon as I find one I love then it gets discontinued or I'm just never able to find it again. So when I was at a Lucky Supermarket I was so excited when I found this one that was labeled as vegan and it looked like it would be really good quality from the colour and consistency, and it's made in Alberta which I thought was cool. So I grabbed it and since it said vegan on the front it didn't cross my mind at all to check the ingredients. It wasn't til I had already got home and put it away in my fridge that shrimp and anchovy caught my eye on the ingredient list. I wondered if I had made a mistake and not realized if there was maybe 2 versions of it on the shelf and grabbed the wrong one, but nope, it clearly says vegan on the front of the label. I wondered if maybe there was a printing error and if the ingredients were wrong but I had my husband who's pescetarian try it and he said he can definitely pick up on a fishy taste in it. So it would seem the vegan label is untrue which is annoying, yes I suppose I can accept some responsibility for not checking the ingredients but also if something claims to be vegan I really shouldn't have to... I did write the manufacturer for clarification because I genuinely wonder if this was a misprint on their label or if it's just a matter of ignorance thinking vegans are OK with eating shrimp and anchovies, but yeah... kinda disappointed especially cause it was definitely on the expensive side but oh well, at least my husband will enjoy it. Anyways, if anyone knows of any good brand of vegan kimchi or stores that carry in, let a girl know please 🤝 submitted by /u/alana_erin_ to r/yegvegan [link] [comments]

AITA for leaving before dinner because my mom didn’t cook anything my wife can eat?
I recently got married with my long term fiancée. She and my mom never really gotten along . I always hoped things would get better after the marriage. My mom invited us over for dinner, which was supposed to be our first meal as a married couple at her house. Now, my wife is a vegan. She was a vegetarian before but switched to vegan a couple months ago . My mom KNOWS she’s a vegan. Despite that my mom didn’t prepare a single vegan dish for her. Except a soggy looking salad. Even the veggie soup, she added chicken broth to it, to make it “tastier.” The rest was all non-vegan stuff like mac and cheese, fried chicken, jambalaya, and banana pudding for dessert—all things my wife can't eat. I told my mom we were going to leave before dinner since there was nothing for Olga (my wife) to eat. My mom said she could just pick the shrimp out of the jambalaya and eat the salad. I told her that’s not how it works. Then she she start insisting the veggie soup was fine. I pointed out that it wasn’t vegan because of the chicken broth. Which according to my mom was “bullshit” She then asked Olga if can’t she just eat normally for one day. My wife said no but she doesn’t mind just having the salad but I knew she was just trying to save the day and was fed up with how my mom was treating her, so I thanked my mom and told her we were leaving. My mom freaked out, she blamed us with being disrespectful, she said she spent hours cooking all that food for me. I told her that's the issue, she should’ve thought about Olga too. My mom said i was exaggerating because “it’s not like she’s allergic or anything “ AITA? submitted by /u/Superb_Top8222 to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]

AITA for adding meat to my girlfriend’s vegan dishes (only for myself)?
Throwaway because girlfriend knows my account. Anyways we live together and split cooking duties. I cook 3 nights and she cooks 3 nights and we usually do takeout for the last night. On my days I usually make something simple like a pasta or rice dish, but will do two batches, one vegan for my girlfriend and one with meat/proteins for me. On my girlfriend’s nights she’ll occasionally do more elaborate properly vegan dishes. I like these a lot but on more simple nights (salad + soup) her food leaves me really hungry/unsatisfied after. So recently I’ve grilled up a small chicken breast, salmon filet, or scrambled some eggs for myself on her cooking nights. Most nights I’ll literally just boil an egg or two. I didn’t think this was a huge deal since I didn’t ask her to cook any meat for me, it’s just me making a small side dish so to speak. But last week in the middle of one of her dinners (I grilled some shrimp to go with the salad she made) she flipped and called me inconsiderate and ungrateful for altering her meals. She said she’s tolerated me for weeks now but that I’ve been insanely rude to eat meat/eggs/cheese alongside her carefully crafted vegan meals. I offered to cook for myself from now on but she said that’s not the point. She wants us to share 100% vegan meals together on her nights without me adding meat as a “cop out.” I feel like she’s being a little unfair but maybe I am for adding meat. AITA? Edit: To everyone asking why I don’t cook additional vegan foods to add to the meals she makes. Honestly on the nights she cooks I usually come home later, exhausted, and in no mood to cook. If I see she’s made the salad/soup meal and I know I’m not going to be full, I just want some simple eggs or some chicken. I know how to make it well, it takes little time, and it tastes really good to me. I could make tofu or beans or tempeh, but I don’t like how they taste most of the time and when I get home I’m tired and hungry and just want something easy and tasty. My girlfriend also makes salad/soup on certain nights for a reason (simplicity and ease) so she’s also not willing to jazz up those meals with more vegan proteins. submitted by /u/Spaghetticat37 to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]
