I have seen many people say the AIZO art is Meguna. I can see why people think that. The foreshadowing is indeed very on the nose and literal. (Plus, My@mura was spreading misinformation about it being Meguna which spread like wildfire) However, the one in AIZO art is MEGUMI. It is not Sukuna. That is just Megumi with his hair up and blood splatters on his face. It is not the first time gege draw Megumi in official art with his hair up (see last image). And in CG, Megumi did has blood splatters in his face when he fought reggie gang. Yes, Gege definitely draw Megumi to looks like Meguna to foreshadow his fate. Yes, Gege definitely WANT people to look at the art and immediately think of Meguna. Yes, Gege want people to do a double take. Yes, it is intentional. But it IS still MEGUMI, and NOT yet Meguna. Megumi ✅️ Foreshadowing✅️ Meguna❌️❌️❌️ * First, the most blatant proof: Yuji still has the eye slits under his eyes in the AIZO Art. That means Sukuna is still possessing Yuji in this Aizo art. Sukuna is NOT yet possessing Megumi. So, the one in AIZO art is Megumi. Yuji only lose his eye slits AFTER Sukuna moves to Megumi (as we can see in ch 213). Before ch 212, Yuji always have his eyeslits. * Second, there is no extra eyes on Megumi. *Third, the tattoos are wrong. That is not Sukuna's tattoos. *Fourth, Megumi is drawn with the dolls of the people associated with his in CG: Tsumiki, Hazenoki, Reggie, Takaba, the Zenins (Naoya, Maki, Mai). Megumi is made the head of Zenin in S3. That's why the Zenins are drawn around him. None of these characters are associated with Sukuna. *Besides, it is Megumi's signature grumpy resting bitch face. Meguna usually has smirk. SYMBOLISM AND ANALYSIS OF THE AIZO ART You can also examine the rest of the images I included regarding the symbolism in the art. *Yuji is is drawn by Gege in the middle of Gojo and Megumi. This is a direct callback to Yuji's dialogue in ch 212 where he thanked Megumi and Gojo for giving him a role. *the blood splatters is a callback to the blood that Megumi spilled in CG to save his sister *the Gojo and Megumi art can be combined. When combined, we get an image of Gojo staring directly to Megumi. This is a reference to Gojo witnessing the person he loves (platonically), which is Megumi, turning into an adversary/hate, which is Meguna. It is a calback to the concept of AIZO (love and hate) And what's more fucked up is that, in ch 221, Gojo witness not only ONE, but TWO of his loved ones (Geto and Megumi), got taken over by Jujutsu Satan#1 and Jujutsu Satan#2. Overall, I think Gege really put a lot of efforts into this art, and it is one of his bigger scale art so far.
