I had to search my old Apple Card transactions to find the last time I ate fast food: 8/15/2025, Sonic I don't recall what I ordered, but knowing my usual preferences, probably a double cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, mayo, ketchup, and mustard, add bacon, Coke Zero, and tots. There's like a 99% chance that was my order, because that is what I used to almost always order.

Got approved for Apple Card… but turned it down
A little while ago, I decided to apply for the Apple Card after about a year of credit history. Surprisingly I got approved and even received a $100 bonus offer. But I ended up declining it. Right now I already have 4 CCs and I know for a fact I wouldn’t actually use the Apple Card. I’m trying to avoid overextending myself or adding accounts just for the sake of it. Part of me feels like I might’ve left something on the table, but the other part thinks it was the smarter move. submitted by /u/821e to r/AppleCard [link] [comments]

Why does everyone want this card so bad?
I’m actually curious why I personally have a weird inclination to get this card. And in trying to figure out if I should get it or not I found a lot of posts of people desperate to get this card. I’ve read all of the specs and the card itself is cool, but at the end of the day it’s just another debt tool. Why do we want it? …And should I finally apply? 😂 For context I presently load money into my Apple Account to spend from my Wallet as an attempt to keep my bank account clean. I use the personal account for bills and my Apple account for shopping since I have upwards of 30 shopping transactions per week. submitted by /u/NoTomatillo8953 to r/AppleCard [link] [comments]

Single after getting angry about giving my boyfriend an apple gift card
It was his birthday this month and my dad scored a hotel for us in Vegas, he told me to make my bf pay $150 for it. But since it was his birthday, I wanted to pay for it. He also wanted these $85 shoes for his bday. I only get paid around $400 a month as a part-time tutor. I also wanted to help my mom with expenses by doing dog-grooming as a side hustle. The stress of expenses this month was getting to me. He mentioned in February how he wanted to go to Vegas, so I thought going for his birthday wouldn’t be a bad idea. Especially since he never said anything against it. In February, I told him for Valentines, I would get him the apple gift card, but I made no money since school was out in January and I had 12 hours with a minimum wage pay. We’re long-distance, so driving to him and back would be $80 (cuz Cali 😢). I told him whenever I made the money, I would get him the gift card but I wanted to prioritize seeing him for Valentines. He said he didn’t need it, but would always ask me for it here and then, but would always take it back. I was telling my boyfriend how I needed to groom as much as I could, so I can pay for stuff when we’re at Vegas and help my mom on top of it all. After hearing me vent about it, he asked if I could throw in a $30 apple gift card. Obviously, angered, I blew up and listed out all the expenses already being thrown at him. When he was unemployed, I never asked for expensive gifts. In fact, when I worked a restaurant job, I would doordash, give him apple gift cards to make him happy. I never ask for that because I know he has his own expenses to worry about. He said I was making a big deal out of this, but his lack of consideration and entitlement really threw me off. I kept explaining to him, “I’m ranting about money, and ur first instinct is to ask for more gifts?” When he has told me multiple times I don’t need to give it to him. The conversation spiraled into how he never wanted to go to Vegas in March, and wanted to go in February. He said he would’ve been fine with whatever if I wasn’t going to act like I couldn’t afford anything. He told me how I planned things to what I wanted when I would always ask him what he wanted to do and he’d just say “whatever.” I was so quick to anger when I could’ve calmly explained it to him. But I tried to make ends meet. I’ve been talking to friends and their friends how I can help groom their dog so I can make more money. I was quick to break up with him, because he wasn’t listening to me. I just wanted him to be thankful that I’m putting in effort and thought into his birthday. Maybe $30 is cheap to him, but my whole budget for any fun treats is $15 for the whole month. I know I shouldn’t have broken up with him, but no matter what I said or tried, he wouldn’t listen. All my friends say it’s the thought that matters and he wasn’t appreciative of me. I know that, but I feel like if I never blew up, we wouldn’t be here in the first place. I’m just sad, because something so small can ruin everything. submitted by /u/gwentoki to r/GirlDinner [link] [comments]

Should I retire the Apple Card?
Let me start off by saying I got it when I was in college, on an impulse. I thought it looked cool and I’ve always been all in on the Apple ecosystem. I do regret not informing myself more before getting it though. That said, I use Apple Pay for almost everything with the exception of rent and groceries (target red card). I’ll also use my discoverit if I’m getting something in the 5% category or tap to pay is unavailable. As someone who *never* travels I feel like “point” based cards would just be a waste. The 2% cash back is nice. I’ve been trying to get the Robinhood Gold card since 3% is obviously better but I’m still waitlisted. I also wanted to pick up the Bilt 1 since I’m not getting anything for rent but… no explanation necessary there I’m guessing. I may consider the Amex Blue Cash Everyday if the Robinhood card never materializes for me, since my biggest categories are online shopping, gas, and groceries. I’d love to hear any card suggestions though, or should I stick to my current setup? submitted by /u/Ok_Revolution_9846 to r/CreditCards [link] [comments]

Apple ships one of the coolest physical cards… then penalizes you for using it. Why?
I’ve always found this a bit ironic and wanted to see how others feel. Apple went out of its way to design a beautiful titanium physical card, probably one of most distinctive card on the market, but then only gives 1% cash back if you actually use it. Meanwhile, Apple Pay gets 2%, and select merchants get 3%. I understand the business reason, Apple clearly wants to push Apple Pay adoption. It’s more secure, keeps users in the Wallet ecosystem, and probably reduces fraud costs. \-But from a user perspective, it feels backwards: \-The physical card is heavily marketed and premium-feeling \-Yet it’s objectively worse to use in many everyday places (restaurants, bars, older terminals, etc.) \-Other issuers manage to give 2%+ regardless of how you pay It makes the physical card feel more like a branding object or backup option rather than something meant for real-world use. So I’m curious: \-Would Apple Pay usage really drop if the physical card earned 2%? \-Would a 1.5% floor on the physical card be a reasonable compromise? \-Or is the current setup working exactly as Apple intended, even if it annoys some users? Interested to hear how others use (or don’t use) the physical card and whether this has ever factored into keeping or shelving Apple Card altogether. submitted by /u/Few-Struggle858 to r/CreditCards [link] [comments]

Apple gift Card Victim spotted in the wild.
I was just waiting in line to collect my bottle deposit money when I noticed an elderly lady with a stack of iTunes Gift cards, asking for the maximum amount on each. She was only able to purchase 2x $500 cards at a time. I straight up told her she is getting scammed and she told me no, it's not a scam and that she won a car on Facebook and they won't take cash to ship it and they only take iTunes gift cards. I told the lady ringing her out and she said she knows and that she comes in all the time asking for the same thing. I asked the cashier if the woman had any family so I could reach out to them to make sure they're aware, but she said she didn't know. The lady is going to end up with nothing. What can be done to help in these types of situations? submitted by /u/CONN_ECTICUT to r/Scams [link] [comments]

Lady buys $1-7k in Apple gift cards with cash every week
I know the immediate thought is she's being scammed, but I don't think that's the case. She's 30-40 and seems fully 'with it' mentally. We've openly talked about gift card scams with her, and her responses make me believe she isn't being scammed. If anything, her demeanor comes off more like she could be the one doing something nefarious. She comes in every single week, sometimes multiple times a week, paying in fresh $100 bills from the bank. She only ever buys Apple gift cards. She usually spends about 2-5k, but has gone as high as 7k in one day. This is in Canada, in case it matters. When asked, she usually says she does online gambling and this is somehow related to her winnings, but she's also claimed they were gifts once. Personally, I suspect it's related to money laundering or tax evasion somehow. (edit for comments I keep seeing- I'm nosy and curious, not a snitch. I only plan to intervene if it seems like someone is being victimized.) Open to hearing any theories! Edit 1: Looks like the majority think it's likely she's being scammed. I'll be sure next time she stops in that we sit her down and talk more. I'm hoping she'll be able to show us some kind of proof of her online gambling explanation or something like that, I'll speak with my manager and see if we can bar her from buying any more until she provides that. If anything else comes up, I'll edit it onto this post. Thanks everyone for your input! To expand on her demeanor, here is a description in case it helps: She carries herself with a professional attitude. She isn't interested in small talk or chatting, but she addresses our questions/concerns politely. Her body language is confident and calm, definitely not anxious whatsoever. The only real emotion I see her display is mild annoyance when there's a delay in the process. When we talked about gift card scams with her in the past, she seemed indifferent and her demeanor didn't change; I saw zero anxiety, sheepishness, agitation, defensiveness, etc. It's hard to put into words, but I really get the vibe that she's "in the know" with this situation, if that makes any sense. The bills are legitimate every time, not counterfeits She started coming in early/mid December and has been in at least once a week consistently since Edit 2: I've asked around and it seems like she hasn't been back since Jan 15th. Not sure if I'll have any more to update but I'll add it here if I do. submitted by /u/Sufficio to r/RBI [link] [comments]

People that rely SOLELY on "Apple Pay" or any kind of phone touch to pay and not have physical cash or cards are dumb and have no right to be upset when businesses aren't able to take them.
I don't normally post something like this or generalize or put people down in general because its important to keep an open mind. You don't know what an individual has been through. I'm also not talking about individuals that genuinely lost their valuables but I work in a business where you WOULD NOT go to if YOU KNEW your physical money was stolen unless your trying to be slick. But my god, the amount of times customers on the daily at my workplace that authorizes a pretty chunk of change on a card (roughly 200 bucks on average) show up with their phone and NO OTHER FORM OF PAYMENT grinds my gears and makes me angry. Its baffling how people DON'T carry debit or credit cards and rely on their phones. Our wallets and purses are just as important as our phones and I refuse to believe anyone that says otherwise. "My wallet was stolen" Well how did you drive here without a drivers license then huh? How do you still have your phone but not your wallet, surely if you were robbed they would have taken both I imagine. But the worse part of it is how upset people get like as if the business is the dumb one to not utilize that. I get it. Its convenient, but its a convenient luxury, not the standard for big financial transactions. 10 dollar coffee Starbucks? Sure. 200+ charges? You need to chip that or swipe that man. I don't understand how anyone WOULDN'T carry their physical debit or credit card. If you have your drivers license (which I imagine you would often) surely your debit or credit card is right next to it, why isn't it? Maybe i'm overrating I don't know It happened today and I was just done with it lol Rant over. EDIT: Wow I didn't expect this to get as much attention as it did. Oops lol. I guess this is an unpopular opinion because a lot of people didn't like it. Allow me to explain that I have no issue with apple pay or phone paying in itself. More options to pay is always a good thing. I have an issue with people that SOLELY rely on it. Not only rely on it and disregard debit or credit cards / cash and getting upset when they get the pikachu face going when it isn't accepted. Oh god or worse the whole beeping thing and it isn't taking it and you are like "just chip your card it isn't working" and they are like "buh its all i got" and you run into those situations and its annoying. Its almost a staggering amount of people that don't have any other form of payment. Like I can't imagine having EXCLUSIVELY only one form of payment ala my phone, because anything can go wrong and if it didn't work id just be boned. Its dumb to assume to not have any physical debit or credit cards or any cash and just go out with your phone to pay for things and running the risk of it not being accepted AND getting upset because of it. EDIT 2: so i’m getting a lot of comments about if id prefer cash only and such. Cash usually is only for leaving a tip or maybe getting gas but thats not the point of my argument. I’m not saying it should be exclusively cash / card / or phone. I’m saying relying on using your phone only is dumb. The same way relying only on cash is equally dumb. That doesn’t automatically mean i prefer solely cash. Remember when cards were becoming a thing? Our parents always said “be sure to put 20 bucks in your sock just in case” or “always good to have cash just in case” its the same principle. Yes phone paying is becoming a thing but goddamn it bring your card too “just in case” yet that principle is being forgotten lol. And again me as a personal it doesn’t matter to me, i keep multiple cards just in case. but at my workplace we don’t accept it for security reasons. I can’t explain the logistics or tech of it but apparently touchless doesn’t “electronically capture” the card and is easily disputed so thats why the place i work at doesn’t accept it. submitted by /u/Bamboopanda101 to r/unpopularopinion [link] [comments]

I've owned the Apple Card for 3 months, this is why it sucks compared to other credit cards
1% cashback when using the physical card is absolutely dismal. 2% back on apple pay is limiting and most cards offer between 1.5% and 2% cashback (ie citi doublecash). You'll get that flat cash back regardless of apple pay or not. The 3% back on select stores is okay but honestly is beat by any revolving category cards. Most cards now allow you to access your rewards cash as soon as the transaction posts. You literally can't even add an authorized user to this card. What kind of 1980s bullshit is this. The biggest downside of this card is that it will not integrate with any budgeting applications. Absolutely ridiculous there isn't out of the box support for mint. Considering apple does not have any banking products, this means that users are not getting a holistic view of their finances. In fact, I found it easy to forget exactly how much I was spending on the card because it didn't integrate with mint. You can pay your bill in two ways, on your phone or by mail. I don’t know any credit card provider that is so archaic you can not pay via a web portal. They also aren’t reporting to the credit bureaus right now, although that’s slated to change. 4/10 stars, pretty doo-doo. Added the four stars because the flex is nice when you clank it on a table. Edit: no spend bonus either Edit: wow this blew up overnight - time to read the comments submitted by /u/PoliticalGuy2016 to r/personalfinance [link] [comments]
