Roly Poly is doing great, even if he did have a poopslposion today, hahaha! Hopefully I will be able to coax mom and other baby out this week and get the two teeny tinies paired up. Took the Quark BuubiBottle PRO portable milk warmer on a 14-hour travel day with a baby. Here's how it actually held up
THIS IS THE BEST BABY GIFT EVER!! We just got back from visiting family across the country and I want to write about the BuubiBottle PRO because honestly the only reason I survived the travel days with my toddler is because of this thing. Mom of two, 5 and 2, the 2yo was the one still on warm milk at bedtime when we went on this trip a few months back. Quick setup. We flew from the west coast to the east coast with a connection. Door to door it was about 14 hours including the early morning drive to the airport, the layover, and the drive from arrival to my sister's house. My 2yo at the time was still very much in the "needs warm milk before bed and at certain transitions" phase and I was dreading the trip because I knew if we couldn't get her milk warm at the right moments she would melt down. I want to walk through how I actually used the PRO during the day because I think travel is where this product really earns its place and I don't see anyone talking about that specifically. 5am wake up. I filled the PRO with hot water from the kettle before we left the house. The whole point of this product is that it locks temperature for 30+ hours so I knew I had hot water available all day no matter what. Airport security. The PRO is TSA compliant because its battery is under the carry-on lithium limit so I just put it in the bin and it went through fine. I did get asked about it once and explained it was a baby bottle warmer and the agent waved me through. Worth knowing it's a conversation piece for TSA agents who haven't seen one yet. On the plane. About an hour into the flight my daughter wanted milk. Normally on a plane this is a disaster because you're either dealing with the flight attendant warming a bottle in their tiny galley with hot water that's never actually hot, or you're handing your kid cold milk and praying. Instead I poured her milk into the PRO's vessel directly, set the temperature I wanted, and it warmed it on the tray table while I held her. No flight attendant interaction, no waiting, no cold milk panic. She had her bottle. She slept. The man across the aisle gave me a thumbs up which is a peak parenting compliment. Layover. We had a 90 minute layover. I refilled the vessel with hot water from a coffee shop because the PRO's water from the morning was still hot but I wanted fresh water for her afternoon bottles. The thing held the new hot water at temperature for the rest of the day no problem. Did I mention 30 plus hours of temperature lock? Because it's wild. The vessel uses stainless steel and vacuum insulation, basically the same construction as a high end thermos, except this one also has battery powered active heating when you need it. Second flight. Same drill. Warmed milk on the tray table during descent because she was getting cranky and the bottle calmed her down for the landing. No issues. Arrival. By the time we got to my sister's house it had been about 11 hours since I last charged the PRO and the battery was still at like 70%. The 11,600 mAh battery is just absurdly oversized for what most parents need in a day. I charged it overnight at her place via USB-C using the braided cable that came with it. Fast charging up to 25 watts means it was full before I woke up. The cleaning angle is the other thing I want to mention specifically about travel. The control pod (the electronic base) detaches from the vessel so I could rinse the inside of the bottle without worrying about damaging electronics. At my sister's place I just popped the pod off, washed the vessel like a normal water bottle, wiped the pod down with a damp cloth, and snapped it back together. With my older kid's old portable warmer I would have been doing some weird half wash with a paper towel and praying water didn't get into the heating element. Not an issue here at all. I also used the self-sterilization feature one night because my sister's kitchen sponge situation was questionable and I wanted to deep clean the vessel before putting milk in it the next morning. The PRO boils water inside itself to kill bacteria. I ran the cycle, dumped the water, refilled it for the morning. Done. For anyone considering this for travel specifically, my honest take is that it solved problems I didn't realize were solvable. Cold milk on planes used to be just a thing I accepted. Now it isn't. Long airport days used to mean planning around bottle warming. Now they don't. Hotels with sketchy water situations used to mean either skipping the bottle or risking it. Now I have self sterilization in my carry on. It's not cheap, around 130 CAD, and I want to be honest that if you don't travel and you have an outlet near your nursing chair you probably don't need this. But if you fly, road trip, or just regularly spend long days out of the house with a baby, this is one of the few baby gadgets I would call a genuine quality of life upgrade. Five stars. Already planning our holiday travel knowing this is in my bag. submitted by /u/Front-Cantaloupe6080 to r/BeyondtheBumpCanada [link] [comments]

Hospital essentials for my knobhead of a best mate?!
Hello; hello everyone! Long time no see, hope you’re all well? Title is fairly explanatory, my knobhead of a best mate had a bloody heart attack yesterday. He’s okay, he’s in MAU for a couple of days, and they don’t seem unduly worried. However, I obviously did say ‘I told you so’ when I got to A&E. Long story short, I’ve been telling him for 12 years now to sort his shit out, because I don’t want to get called to A&E when he’s had a heart attack, (I’m his emergency contact); told him that if that does happen, I will obviously say I told you so. Therefore, once I’d made sure he was okay, I not only called him a stupid twat, I also said I told you so, as it was written. I took him a little bag of bits last night; toothbrush, shower gel, toothpaste, teabags, books, charger ect - all those gubbins. However, it’s been a while since I’ve been admitted, and I was wondering if there was anything else I’ve missed?! He’s been told he’s gonna be there for at least another night, so I want to take him another care package. (Let’s avoid cans of energy drinks and tasty fatty snacks, as that’s why the twat has had a heart attack) Many thanks in advance! Edit - I’ve been in to see him/take him his care package and requested items! He’s looking pretty rough tbh, that’ll be the heart attack I guess?! Glad I took new clothes in, as he was wearing a fairly fetching, albeit quite amusing pair of hospital pj bottoms. Here is the list of items I took him, thank you to everyone for your fantastic advice! I’ve told him that according to the wider internet I’m a great mate, and I’m gonna get a T-shirt made calling him a twat. Slippers 2 pairs of trackies 2 T-shirts Boxers A crossword book A notebook Pens Baby wipes Grape toothpaste (he already had some from yesterday, but this is grape flavoured?!) More deodorant A mini lynx africa - because, well, why not Some cereal bars A reusable water bottle Squash A mini rechargeable fan (I charged it beforehand) Wireless soundproof headphones (also charged them beforehand) A MagSafe phone charger, that he can charge his phone on if he’s not using it (when he’s using it he’s got a power bank) A ziploc bag filled with batteries, cables and a post it note saying ‘do it yourself defib kit’ (thank you for that suggestion, still love it!) A lil’ allergy face spray (refreshing innit) Magnesium lavender sleep spray A card from B&M, it’s covered in love hearts and says ‘you’ve got this!’ Inside I’ve written; ‘this’ stands for coronary heart disease! We love you, you massive twat, get better soon - and then we’re walking everywhere! All popped into a zippable Aldi freezer bag for ease of transport/to prevent anything getting lost! submitted by /u/Gingeeer28 to r/CasualUK [link] [comments]

International travel with baby bottle washer
Wanted to make this post because before our trip I was looking for similar info, so hopefully this helps someone! Yes, it can be done! FYI: - I am based in the UK - baby is 5 months old - international flight from UK (Heathrow airport) to Thailand (Bangkok airport) - using the wearable eufy Breast Pump S1 Pro Background I used to wash all the baby bottles and pump parts in our dishwasher at home, but after a 4 day trip to visit my parents over New Year’s I was so done washing all the bottles and pump parts by hand. Knowing we had a two and a half week holiday in Thailand coming up, bit the bullet and purchased the Momcozy KleanPal Pro Baby Bottle Washer (purchased on 2 January 2026, cost £239.99 from Amazon). I ran it on average 3 times a day and desperately wanted to bring it on holiday with us. Nobody wants to spend their holiday doing washing up every day. This mama needs a holiday too! Prep Realised we needed a bigger suitcase, ordered this Hanke Expandble 29 Inch Suitcase (purchased on 20 January 2026 for £158.49 - I’m certain you can get something cheaper but this was a last minute purchase and we needed next day delivery so options were limited): https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DNHPPFK6 Great suitcase honestly, it can expand by 2 inches but we didn’t actually need that because the Momcozy fit in there without it. Placed it into a cloth bag and padded it with baby clothes all around. Notes - bottle washer worked just fine when we arrived in Bangkok - honestly the Momcozy bottle washer is quite lightweight, it’s just big and bulky, takes up most of the space in the suitcase. We had three suitcases in total, one for me, one for my husband, and this Hanke one for the baby with the bottle washer and other baby items. - have been using tap water here in Thailand to fill up the Momcozy (I use tap water in the UK as well) and it has been absolutely fine. - we use the baby bath the hotel provided to collect the used water from the Momcozy and I just tip it out into the bath after each wash. We have also used a wine ice bucket as well and that also worked just fine. - we have been in two hotels and in each there has been a plug socket next to the coffee area. One hotel had all international sockets, but the other has international sockets next to the bed only so a plug adapter is recommended just in case! Photos included of our current Momcozy set up in the hotel! What I would have done differently It’s a small thing, when packing the Momcozy I dried it as much as I could, but on arrival it was covered in water droplets on the inside. I think the dishwasher spray arms still had water inside them and the pressure of the plane / travel in general made all the water come out. It wasn’t an issue because the lid of the Momcozy stayed on and it’s only a little bit of water, but I used the space inside the Momcozy to pack some extra bits. I packed some bottles of Infacol in there with a bottle of Calpol which was fine, but I also shoved the Momcozy dishwasher tablets in there and they come in a paper bag. Luckily they were in a plastic zip lock bag so they got saved from getting damp. Just thought I would mention it because yes, you can pack things inside the Momcozy! But they might get wet so prepare for this, and maybe put the Momcozy into a waterproof bag (like a plastic rubbish bag maybe?) if you want to be 100% sure nothing else in the suitcase will get wet. Unrelated points Not related to the Momcozy but found this interesting: baby has been drinking way less milk here in Thailand! I have a slight under supply, and every so often I would need to supplement with a bottle of formula. Haven’t had to do that at all. My baby drinks a LOT of milk, 1000-1200 ml days are normal for her (that’s 34-41 oz for our friends overseas), whereas I usually make around 950 ml a day (32 oz). But during this holiday she’s dropped to 725-825ml per day (25-28 oz). I think it’s a combination of hot weather, so she doesn’t want to eat as much, plus being so stimulated by everything around her, and she’s definitely at an age where she’s getting distracted from her feeds. She’s very healthy and happy, doing plenty of wet and dirty nappies, but I just found it interesting because I expected it to go the other way? I had assumed she would be super thirsty from the heat, and drink even more milk than she normally does, so I was ready for us to have to buy a whole bunch of extra formula here in Thailand. So I guess this is just to say that if you are going abroad to a hot country, don’t be surprised if you baby actually drinks less! Now to see how much of this milk which has built up in the hotel fridge I can bring back to the UK with me… Another discovery I made, and this does actually relate to the Momcozy bottle washer, is that if you partially dissolve the small dishwashing tablets before putting them in the bottle washer, you don’t get the weird white film on the bottles when they come out. Being from the UK, we have hard water, so I just assumed it was from the hard water that all my bottles were coming out cloudy. But Thailand doesn’t have hard water, and the bottles were still coming out covered in powdery white film! That’s when I realised that the dishwashing tablets must not be dissolving fully and some detergent was still present during the last rinse cycle. I now take a tablet and pop it into a baby bottle with the lid on and a bit of water, shake it around so it starts dissolving and bubbling, and then pour the whole thing out into the Momcozy before starting it. Wow what a difference! Almost no residue left, and the bottles come out so much cleaner! One more thing I found useful, I got these Milton antibacterial wipes to use on my wearable breast pump whilst travelling, when I didn’t have access to the Momcozy dishwasher or sink to wash them in. Another wow! I never used wipes for cleaning before, these cleaned the pump parts so well! Was great to have on our flight, which was a direct 12 hour flight, or for days out when I had to pump on the go outside the hotel. I brought two sets of pump parts with me on holiday but honestly I’m not using them as much as I thought because I just get these wipes out, clean the pump parts and put them away again. https://amzn.eu/d/cBlHt4q I usually wipe most of the milk residue with a normal tissue and then use one of these wipes for a good clean all over. One thing I would say is that these wipes dry quickly, over a week of using them I’ve noticed every time I open the packet the wipes seem dryer than before. Make sure to close the packet well, and I would recommend keeping the packet in a sealable container like a zip lock bag for extra longevity! _____ We are still on holiday now so haven’t done the journey back yet, fingers crossed the Momcozy makes it back in one piece - wish me luck! submitted by /u/HattusCattus to r/ExclusivelyPumping [link] [comments]

AITAH for cutting contact with my mother over repeatedly not respecting mine and my wife's wishes with our 3 month old child?
So to begin, my wife (24F) and myself (26M) welcomed a beautiful, happy, and healthy baby girl into the world this last September, she's everything we could've ever dreamed of and more out of a child. Sleeps all night, never cries, and always has a big beautiful gummy smile on her face. We do have some rules however because thankfully my income has allowed my wife to be able to quit her job and be a full time SAHM. But with that comes its own host of issues due to my work schedule. I work 12 hour swing shifts and work every other Friday-Sunday also. With that I also flip flop from days to nights every 2 weeks and follow the same schedule. Also, my wife had just underwent gallbladder surgery last week as well. So more often than not unless I am home, my wife takes care of our home, keeping it immaculate, cooking dinners, making lunches for me for work, caring for our child, while I go to work to provide a living for us. And of course when I'm home I always give her a break and take over the house chores and baby duty so she can finally rest. Because of our busy schedules we have made a VERY solid rule for visiting us and our daughter, simply call about a half hour or so ahead of time to give us time to get dressed or look presentable for guests, family, friends, etc. And the ONE PERSON who believes that this rule doesn't apply to them is my wonderful mother. My mother has continued to defy this rule and is angry that she cannot just "pop by and see us and the baby" whenever she pleases. We have told her that ESPECIALLY when I work nights to not come by unannounced because we have 2 small dogs as well and they bark at EVERY SOUND OUTSIDE. Due to this we put them in the bedroom with me while I sleep during the day so they hear less noise throughout the day and I can sleep. But my wonderful mother still disregards this rule and knocks on our front door like the County Sherriff serving a search warrant. Well.. today was the final straw that broke the camel's back. I woke up a little early this evening to help my wife clean bottles, wash dishes, clean, etc. And our daughter was giving signs that she was getting hungry. So while she continued to wash the remaining bottles, I warmed up a bottle from the fridge and began to feed her. Upon placing the bottle on her mouth my wife's phone dinged and guess who it was? My mother. A simple text that read "Is (my son) asleep?" To which I simply replied to her "No" And she quickly replied "Can we come and see you guys" and before I even picked up the phone to reply, guess who was in our driveway... My wife and I exchanged an "Are you serious?!" look with one another and I asked my wife if she was okay with this to which she said "It can't be long because we still have a lot of cleaning to do before you leave for work, but I'm okay with it this time if you are." And I begrudgingly replied to my mother with "Yes, thats fine" So I reached my arm around the couch and opened the front door from where I was sitting, and I wish I was kidding. No sooner than it took to send the text, she backs out of the driveway, and simply texts "Bye, love ya'll..." To which my wife and I were absolutely confused why she would now leave. So I tried to call, and go figure... No answer. So after my wife and I both trying her phone and my Stepdad's phone we just decided to leave it be. Until about 8:00 tonight... I called and immediately jumped straight to the point and asked her "Why did you ask to come see us and just turn around and leave?" To which she replied "Nobody wanted to come greet us so we didnt get out of the car." And I informed her that "(Wife) was busy washing bottles and I was busy feeding our daughter, you could just walk in since I told you that it was fine for you to come see us." Her reply "I watched (wife) walk in the kitchen and not even open the door for us!!" My reply "You have never cared about that before from the multiple occasions of you springing by the house without prior notice like we've asked you and every single other person to do and keep thinking this rule doesn't apply to you." Her reply "A grandmother doesn't need to give notice to see her child and grandchild!" I laughed and replied "I think you're not understanding that this is our home, you don't get to come by whenever and not say anything prior, that's very inconsiderate and rude to (wife) and myself. " Her reply "I just don't understand why that is such a big deal for the two of you?!" I proceeded to lose it admittedly. I said "Look, I don't know who you think you are, but this is OUR home and OUR place of peace. And because you have proven time and time again that you cannot follow very simple instructions I'm going to ask that you please not come see us until you can follow this one singular simple rule that we have in OUR home and not yours." She of course scoffed and said that "This is ridiculous, and you're so immature for having such an outlandish rule in your house!!" So I replied "Look dont bother contacting at all, you can't seem to respect your own son's wishes and you have absolutely no regard or respect for me at all. I love you mother but I have to draw a line somewhere. And this is it." And I promptly hung up the phone. Part of me feels like I may have been too harsh but also another part of me feels like I did the right thing and made the right choice. My mother has a long history with constrewing what people have said to her to always paint her as the "good guy" and give off the "can do no wrong" type vibe on every situation she happens to find herself in. But in reality she gaslights or manipulates everyone that does not agree with her or goes against her or disagrees with her in any way. So, AITA??? submitted by /u/Ford_Lightning01 to r/AITAH [link] [comments]

Kayla is a trash-bag poor excuse of a "mother". She is wreckless & irresponsible with her kidneys - knowing baby will need way sooner than later like they initially thought. But she continues getting drunk daily, slamming bottles of wine & popping her pills. Mother of the year right there!

Pop n sit cabana chair, a very large sand resistant blanket, a water bottle just for rinsing sand and a fan are a must. I think the most important thing is having someone else with you. My husband and I take turns entertaining our baby and keeping him from fully emerging in the sand. So far my baby won’t nap on the beach but he’s easy going with skipping naps.

TIFU the baby bottle fell into garbage disposal and no way of getting it out
I was doing dishes last night as a tired parent with a newborn. Clean them first, then put them in sanitizer/dryer. I was cleaning a bottle and it slipped out of my hands directly into the drain. Literally the bottle is the perfect size of the hole. It slid directly into the garbage disposal and got stuck vertically so I could see the bottom. While trying to grab it from being vertical, it rotated and is now horizontal. For whatever reason it was able to go from vertical -> horizontal but seems to be too small to go from horizontal -> vertical. I am going to have to break the bottle. Hopefully when my wife steps out so I don’t have to explain. TLDR: Baby bottle stuck in garbage disposal. Wife will be furious if know I have to break it to remove it. Edit 1: thank you all so much for advice. Wife and I are just in the trenches of a newborn and have slept in 6 weeks. So yea I may die Edit 2: https://www.plumbingsupply.com/insinkeratorpartsbadger5.html is the diagram. It’s stuck horizontally in “12” Edit 3: AHHH THE NOOSE WORKED!! I was able to slide the news around the end of the bottle, but it still would not go through. I then decided that if I was gonna have to break it anyways, might as well yank it as hard as I can. Instead of breaking, it popped out! Thank you so much u/Dirty-M518 submitted by /u/nooooooooo1no to r/tifu [link] [comments]

My boyfriend currently hates me 🤣 Someone please send help. Baby bottle pops, baby bottle pops 🎶 Just lick the pop dip it and shake itttt 🎶 So I guess just tell me which one was your favorite? submitted by /u/danabeans to r/Millennials [link] [comments]

[RANT] I thought I knew ALL the pitfalls of Internet. Then my friends kids introduced me to a fresh hell of brain rot.
I'm 42, Have a Masters in Communication Arts (I promise, it's not a brag. I'll explain later). I grew up with cable descramblers with zero parental controls and have been on the internet, unsupervised since AOL 2.5. Have done work on children's television in both programming and advertising departments. Currently in sales and marketing (unrelated field). Dark web, deep web, unlisted directories, invite only chats, r/ElsaGate/, huggy wuggy, self harm/ED influencers on tumblr, creepypasta search results for "." on youtube, whatever the internet serves up I've at least heard of. Labor Day BBQ with our couple friends that also have kids, that we've known for nearly 20 years. Amongst them, a lawyer, an architect and two doctors of physical therapy that specialize in pediatrics. They don't do drugs, drink in excess, beat their kids, and are very much involved in their family and community. We've made comments about how lax they are regarding unsupervised tablet and letting the kids drive on the TV (all the kids were 2-8 Years old) Our two kids are whitelist only content viewers. PBS, Disney, Mr Rachel, Daniel Tiger, Pokemon and for my 5 year old, maybe a Dragon Ball episode with dad before bed. The kids at the house use voice command to pull up "Peppa Pig Videos". I can do without the jingle and the muddy puddle jumping but fine, whatever, it's on the white list. 15 seconds into the video, peppa is throwing purple dildos, poop, twerking that would make a Worldstar viewers blush, all with the pacing of hyperpop. The whole watch history is full of this stuff. I only bring up my education to speak to the Children's Television Act of 1990 (CTA). It was designed to prevent "program-length commercials" that blur the line between a show and its advertisement for young viewers. So no GI Joe commercials during GI Joe cartoons. No ads presented by the characters in the show. Good guardrails. It also had mandates that all broadcast television stations serve the educational and informational needs of children by airing a minimum amount of "core" educational/informational programming each week. Like staying away from downed power lines, try not eating too much candy or your teeth with rot. That kinda stuff. I'm reaching out to kids of the 80s and 90s that are now parents. If you don't set up a whitelist with your family and friends, whatever you think your kids are watching, you probably aren't. Even if you are a crunchy granola Montessori parent. Your kids will probably see something that would cause weak-minded children to go into a brain rot spiral. I can't even compare it to dumb stuff of the 90s/2000s Ren and Stimpy, Southpark, Beavis and ButtHead, Adult Swim content, Teletubbies. Sure metal junk food, like one of those sour candies in the shape of a baby bottle. It's not just predators, ads, begging twitch streamers that cater to kids that would rather watch than play themselves, and attention stealing social media doom scrolls or TikTok videos about making a diamond in your microwave using aluminum foil. This new stuff is like drinking bleach or getting into their fun aunts medicine cabinet while being rewarded with massive Candy Crush/progressive slot machine style dopamine hits. That is what everyone is competing with when it comes to your child's attention. If it helps even one dad, check your youtube watch history, not just the thumbnails, watch the stuff they see. Some of this stuff has like 36M+ views, each! To put that in perspective the "Miracle on Ice" of the 1980 Winter Olympics had 35M viewers and is has been hardcoded into American pop culture for decades, even made a movie about it. This attention based economy has created monsters on both sides of the screen. The governing gerontocracy defers to tech consultants who profit off of this kind of content. submitted by /u/Drama_Derp to r/daddit [link] [comments]

Husband (42M) poured cold water on me (32F) while I slept - any advice?
Feeling overwhelmed and looking for advice… Background: My (32 F) husband (42 M) and I have a 7-month old baby. I exclusively nurse (we did triple feeds the first month because he was born very small and had low blood sugars and then switched to exclusively nursing because the bottles, pumping, etc were all too much for us, baby was spitting up / vomiting / etc) so we are currently only nursing (with some solids introduced during the day for texture / taste). We tried to reintroduce bottles around month 3 or 4 and baby refused. We’ve tried straw cup drinking around months 4 or 5 which might’ve been too early. It’s on my to do list to try again with straw drinking. We had some challenges at first with solids (he broke out in full blown hives with the first 3 foods he tried which spanned over about a month to allow breaks to recover between foods). I’ve also had various health conditions pop up since he was born (so on going about 7 months now) that I’ve been struggling to manage. We had ants a few months ago and I thought I had ant bites all over my feet and legs. The “ant bites” ended up spreading and ongoing for months and I eventually learned that they are rashes, not ant bites. My hands started to break down in rashes too which I thought was a manifestation of my celiac (gluten intolerance) so I thought it would go away because I haven’t been consuming gluten and assumed I must have accidentally consumed some that triggered a reaction. When the rashes persisted, I scheduled with a dermatologist and she prescribed some creams including a steroid and antibiotic which have been difficult to balance because I need my hands to take care of baby. I ordered cotton and non-latex gloves to put over the creams but even getting the time to go through the cream routine, brushing my teeth, etc etc has been tough because baby is so mom-dependent right now and cries a lot with dad despite efforts for them to bond. At months 3 or 4, baby would take to dad for maybe 5-15 minutes total per day (24 hours). We don’t have any other family support and I’m staying home full time currently to care for baby. Our current routine is that baby wakes up at 6:15 am, nurses until about 6:45 am, hangs out with his dad until 7:45 am, and then dad gets ready and goes to work at 8 am, returns at 4 pm. I usually sleep during that 45 minutes because after caring for baby all night (we also co-sleep and co-nap, please don’t criticize) it is the only time I get to stretch out in bed and sleep as a solo person and can sleep on my belly or however I choose. It is my only “me” time, and I choose to sleep after late nights with baby eating every few hours because I am completely exhausted and need the energy to take care of a baby solo for the next 8+ hours. Fast forward to today, I was dead exhausted this morning, and instead of letting me sleep, my husband kept insisting I wake up and poured cold water all over my face while I was asleep. It turned into a fight. We hired someone this week (as a trial week) to help us meal prep because I’ve been struggling to prepare healthy meals for myself while also caring for a 7-month old. We were still arguing when she was supposed to arrive so I suggested we ask her not to come today and we’d still pay for the day and groceries of course. He got mad saying the world doesn’t start and stop for my feelings which is true but we can’t have a stranger in our own while we’re arguing and I was still shaken up by the morning (husband smacking me and pouring cold water on my face to try to wake me up). When I mentioned cancelling today, he said, “No, she is fired if you cancel her today! You can starve!” He says I was “faking being asleep” and I kept asking him not to speak on my intentions and I wasn’t fake sleeping, I was actually sleeping. Although “sleeping” is an oversimplification. In reality, I was half asleep, half awake, half paralyzed by what was going on around me and too exhausted to even use my words, half utterly defeated by the complete lack of emotional support I’ve been desperately needing. I know this post is all over the place, we are just struggling, and I don’t know who to turn to for emotional support. I have been asking my husband for months for emotional support and am faced with invalidation and dismissiveness and I’m exhausted and don’t know what to do. Any advice would be appreciated. submitted by /u/ellie9236 to r/relationship_advice [link] [comments]

Meghan Markle’s top 20 cringiest moments
“Not many people have asked if I’m ok” In the 2019 ITV documentary “Harry and Meghan: an African Journey”, Meghan tearfully told Tom Bradby that “Not many people have asked if I’m ok.” This struck some as being tone deaf considering she was in South Africa, where 55% live below the poverty line. Gatecrashing the British Fashion Awards In 2018, Meghan made a surprise appearance at the British Fashion awards, where she took over from original presenter Rosamund Pike. Allegedly Meghan hadn’t been invited but forced her way into the show. Pregnancy pop In 2019, Meghan visited the pet charity Mayhew of which she is a patron. As she rose from a kneeling position, many heard a distinct pop. Whether it’s a pregnancy fart, or a re-inflating baby bump, no one knows - but it got people talking and ignited an internet debate. Pose! Meghan made another “surprise appearance” at the LA Children’s Hospital charity gala in October 2024. As she clung to “bestie” Kelly Zajfen, many remarked on her new, distinctly un-royal look. As if to cement her return to the D-list, Meghan shouted “Pose!” as she was photographed with Kelly and another attendee. “Sexy” dance moves Meghan and Harry were seen dancing up a storm at a Beyoncé concert in September 2023. While she was obviously feeling the music, many did not have a positive opinion about her dancing. “Beyoncé just texted!” In their Netflix documentary, Meghan appeared to just receive a text from Beyoncé. She read it out loud to a spuriously shocked Harry. Considering that Beyoncé’s husband Jay-Z is currently accused of raping a 13 year old, it’s likely that Meghan won’t play up that connection anytime soon. “Is he kind?” While many initially cheered for Harry when he got engaged to Meghan, eyebrows were raised at their first interview where she claimed to know little about Harry, asking “Is he kind?” as a way to know if they were compatible. The “One Love” premiere During the premiere of the Bob Marley biopic in Jamaica, Harry and Meghan didn’t seem too happy when they were seated at what seemed to be the non-VIP section. Wearing a voluminous black skirt, Meghan seemed overdressed in an area where viewers donned more casual apparel. Demoted to the backseats During a service at St Paul’s Cathedral for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, Harry and Meghan appeared shocked at their seating arrangements which indicated their new place in the pecking order. Moreover, they were booed and heckled by crowds as they exited the church. Scarf-Gate Viewers were amused to see William seemingly ignoring Meghan as they exited St. Mary Magdalene’s church in December 2018. In a viral video now known as Scarf-Gate, William is seen endlessly fixing his scarf rather than talking to his sister-in-law. Ellen pranks Meghan When Meghan made a guest appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, she had to prank some vendors while obeying Ellen’s instructions through an earpiece. The pranks included drinking from a baby bottle and doing a couple of squats. While it’s nice if celebrities try to relatable, there’s a fine line between relatable and embarrassing. The Hertz locker Meghan accepted an accolade at the Ms Foundation Women of Vision awards, but it wasn’t what had people talking. The ex-actress was videoed making an entrance at a less-than-glamorous Hertz car rental office. Fortunately (or not), this was later overshadowed by her and Harry’s allegation that they were involved in a high speed car chase in the congested streets of New York - a claim that was later debunked. The soap dish story At every opportunity, Meghan takes credit on changing a sexist soap ad when she was 11 years old. It’s gotten to the point where everyone rolls their eyes. Meghan, you’re 43, stop talking about something you did 30 years ago. Mic grab At Kevin Costner’s One805 Live! charity fundraiser, Meghan was seen attempting to take the microphone from the host, who firmly keeps her grasp on it. Was she expecting to give another one of her self-serving, long-winded speeches? Trophy wife While celebrating a win with her husband’s polo team, Meghan tries to grab something else - this time one of the players’ prize box. He refuses, and Meghan awkwardly ducks under his and Harry’s arms as they raise the trophy. Time and again Meghan places herself in such positions because she likes being centre stage. Red carpet hogger At a Variety event, Meghan had to be gently nudged by an assistant as she revelled in the cameras and the spotlight. “Turn around” In her last Trooping the Colour appearance in June 2019, Harry scolded Meghan to “turn around” as the anthem started playing. Meghan obeyed like a child, stomping her feet slightly and blinking back tears. Marching with veterans At the Invictus games in Germany in September 2023, observers were bemused when Meghan was seen marching in front of British veterans, wearing shorts and sandals. She had shown up late to the opening ceremony and rambled on about having to give milkshakes to the children. Later, Meghan was removed from the programme at the closing ceremony Mocking the late Queen In their Netflix documentary, Meghan recounted her first time curtsying to the Queen, demonstrating an awkward bow. Many were not amused - including an annoyed-looking Harry. Using Uvalde for PR In her most appalling PR push, Meghan flew over to Uvalde, Texas in May 2022 after a school shooting where 19 students were killed. She was filmed laying flowers on a memorial and was later said to have donated snacks to volunteers. There’s many more, but these are my top 20! Chime in with your own cringey Meghan moments. submitted by /u/RoohsMama to r/SaintMeghanMarkle [link] [comments]

AITA for telling my husband to tell his mom to settle the baby
Obligotory English isn't my native language warning. I (F36) have a baby (10wks) with my husband (M36). Our son is amazing and a pretty easy baby. My son already sleeps through the night which is a godsend. However, this does require a strict nighttime routine of bath, bottle and reading a story. About an hour and a half before he sleeps, but then he sleeps like a grown adult through the night. The problem is that my MIL has the habit of calling later in the evening when my son is already asleep. She will videocall and insist to see the baby and then end up calling him until he is awake. We talked to her about calling earlier, but she says she can't call earlier because she is eating dinner and then has to decompress. I have also discussed this with my husband that he shouldn't bring the phone to our son if she calls that late or pick up at all, but he has a hard time saying no to her. I told him that I won't resettle our son, just because he can't say no to his mom. A couple nights ago I was readying myself for bed after putting down our son when the phone rings Husband does pick up and is saying no to see our son, but my MIL insists and begs so I hear my husband slowly caving. She can look, but he isn't going to turn on the lights nor can she wake him up. (Spoilers: he does and she will). When he is walking to the bedroom I pop my head out and shake no. He shrugs like 'what can I do?' and I tell him:' If you wake him then you will put him back to sleep'. Another apologetic shrug. MIL actually says that she will be quiet and it will only take a minute. By the time my husband did turn on the light (because she couldn't see) and she has called our son awake (Because she wanted to see his 'pretty little eyes') I'm already in bed. Hearing the entire thing unfold. Phone call ends, my son is crying and fussing. My husband takes him back into the living room to calm him down, but after half an hour comes up and asks me to do it, since he is tired and wants to sleep, and he has to work tomorrow. I told him I warned him many times. He insists that I can do it, because I don't have to work tomorrow. So I tell him: ' Neither does your mom and since she is the one that woke him she could settle him back down if my husband wasn't going to do it, but I am NOT going to do it. ' He did end up putting our son back to bed. But it took a long while apparently and made him really tired the next day at work. He went to bed early the next day and is now a little distant. Friends are divided. So now I feel like I'm the asshole. BEFORE PEOPLE JUMP ON MY HUSBAND: HE IS A GREAT DAD WHO IS THE ONE SETTLING OUR SON DOWN MOST DAYS SINCE I'M TIRED AND STILL RECOVERING. We split duties equally and if our son was fussy and didn't want to sleep I would've had no problem staying up late to take him to bed. Just not when he is awoken. submitted by /u/Daycareworker1987 to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]

AITA for being resentful of my husband's reflexive anger during newborn nightime pumping/feeds?
My (32f) husband (35m) and I have a 3wk old newborn. My milk supply has been low so I've been pumping every 2-3 hours. The arrangement my husband and I agreed to was that he & I would both wake up for the first "feeding/pump" session, where he would go feed the baby a bottle and I would focus on pumping. The issue is that my husband has insomnia & can't fall asleep easily. To mitigate this, I'll wear sleep headphones & will listen for the baby's cries when he's hungry; my husband's ask is for me to wake him up when this occurs, so that he can help and I can focus on pumping. However, when I do gently wake up my husband at the time that he asks me to, it's like a knee jerk reaction for him to be angry. He'll jerk, complain loudly that he just fell asleep minutes ago, slap the bed with his fist or open hand in anger, then stomp off to tend to the baby. After which, he'll cool off, start singing & put on his cute voice with the baby, & otherwise be "okay." Meanwhile, I'm left feeling horrible, feeling guilty for waking him up, to the point where I don't want to wake him up because I'd rather just take care of everything myself than deal with him being pissy. Last night, I told him how these outbursts make me feel. That I'm afraid to wake him up because of them. His response was that this reaction is a reflex, no different to how a knee pops up when struck with a hammer, & that I need to just accept that this response is an inevitability. Well, it's 2am now. I wake him up, he does his same angry song and dance, and I go to pump. After he gets over his "burst", he comes out being positive & happy, trying to lightly joke about how this really pissed me off and that I really couldn't get over it. Admittedly, I tell him passive aggressively that I'm over it, but maintain a shortness with him. He gets angry again, stating that of course, between the two of us, he's the one who can't sleep but I'M the one who's entitled to wear the angry bitch face. He takes the baby to the bedroom and slams the door. After he's done feeding the baby, I tell him that I'm going to sleep outside for the night and he asks me again to wake him up when the baby wakes up. He adds, verbatim, "Can you just ignore my being mad for the first 15 seconds after you wake me up? I've done a good job here, and I feel like I'm owed that. I need you to be a big girl." I feel resentful of the fact that the burden is on me to "get over" his outbursts. However, I do also recognize that his bursts are short lived, and that he IS waking up to help me during an otherwise difficult time where both of us aren't getting sleep. He does do a great job of supporting us and my emotional well being during the rest of the day, so I may be the Asshole for harboring this resentment. I need some outside perspective on whether he has a point and if I should extend him owed grace for this issue. submitted by /u/AmericanFolkswagon to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]

AITA for snapping at this lady at the grocery store because of my son’s crying?
My son’s (7 months) been cranky all morning because he’s teething. I (27m) had to go grocery shopping and since it’s just me taking care of him he came with me. Normally he’s calm when I have him in his baby carrier because right now he just wants to be held by me but I forgot that at my mom’s yesterday so went in with his stroller to the market. The plan was to be in an out in under 5 mins because he really wasn’t having it today. This lady kept popping up at every aisle I was in. Well it’s a small market too so not like she was intentionally following us. He wouldn’t stop crying then she’d say “he’s hungry why didn’t you bring his bottle” and I would tell her no he’s not hungry he just ate 15 mins ago. Then it was “uh oh sure hope your daddy remembered to change your diaper this morning” (diaper wasn’t dirty). At some point I picked him up for a little bit, he calmed down when I rocked him then lost his shit again when we got to the check out line because I needed to put him back in his stroller so I could put everything on the counter and pay. It was already a stressful day for me, I’m overwhelmed trying to hurry up putting everything in a bag while my son’s crying. This lady is at the checkout line next to mine and she says “maybe next time he should stay at home with mommy don’t you think?” Normally I’m not a confrontational person but this one really got to me. “Well his mom passed away so why don’t you just mind your damm business already and go” She looked at me a little shocked and then there was other people there too so she was red. The lady didn’t say anything to me at all but then at the parking lot she apologized about his mom but she didn’t think I needed to be rude and throw that at her face because she didn’t know what happened. I really didn’t wanna get into it anymore I just told her to get the hell out of my way and leave me alone. Got in my car and left. Im home now more calm and wondering if she had a point. Because like I said normally I’m not like that with people but since it was already a hard day and stuff it infuriated me so bad. Was it an overreaction though? I get sometimes people think they’re helping when in reality know nothing when it comes to calming a baby and usually brush that off. I'm a $GENI in a bottle, baby Gotta rub me the right way
Part 0: Intro Sup freaks. Just came back from the moon and that shit is glorious. Here to officially introduce you to a play I’ve been loading up on for weeks. The company is Genius Sports Limited, ticker $GENI, aka GENIE, or as Forrest Gump would say Jennaaaaay. You may be wondering why I’m here? I’m clearly (newly) rich, I should get a life. The answer is simple. I’m a degenerate and it's short hunting season. Pow Pow. The FUD’r of interest is forensic bitch and noted short seller Spruce Point Capital Management. These guys are incredibly unsuccessful in their calls so I take this as a major bull flag that they released a short report on GENI. Spruce’s past successes include: MGNI (moon shot/money printer), DBX (DropBox), Nova (rose 88% after their post, talk about poor timing). These guys have the Midas Touch, anything their fungus filled fingernails stroke eventually end up moonshotting; I’m here to expedite the process. https://i.redd.it/kw02izf6xbm71.gif Anyway, Genius Sports Limited (GENI) is a tech company that collects data from sports events, processes it, and sells it to major gambling companies to run their sportsbooks (SKLZ, DKNG, Fanduel, Caesars etc). They are the pick & shovel play of a rapidly growing sports gambling segment (gambling record $44bn in revenue 2021). They have 4 competitors (large moat) but only Sportradar offers any real competition. GENI has deals with NASCAR, MLB, NBA, NCAA and the English Premier League amongst others. They are also the official data partner of the NFL holding exclusive rights; dump truck sized moat. Prominent investors include Cathie Wood, Mrs “Average Down at all Costs”, Anpanaman “God Tier SPAC Wizard & wsb Yolo’r (1.1m+ 😳)”, amongst others (institutional ownership is 90%+). But, before we get into more specifics about the company + setup please watch this educational video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIDWgqDBNXA Yup, I also love Christina Aguilera. So, gals put on your crop top and cargo pants, and fellas that backward fitted & baggy jeans. Let’s get groovy 90s style. Oh and Christina, please slide in my DM. https://i.redd.it/bug2kfcaxbm71.gif pls respond Part 1: Institutional fuckery Spruce Point Capital Management issued a hit piece on Genie. Their primary claim is that Genius is a “middleman” with an “inferior business model” saying the stock could fall 60% to 80%, so a PT of $3.25 to $6.50. Well first off Spruce, fuck your bitch and the clique you claim. https://i.redd.it/uk0m1vhlxbm71.gif With that being said, Spruce is so so so wrong. Given Spruce’s history of abject failure I would go further and say this report is baseless FUD. So, why would Spruce put itself in the path of a runaway train like Jenaay? Seems crazy tbh. Welp they’re known as a “Smash & Grab” short seller, so these guys give friends an early view of their calls so they can front run the market before it's released to the public, profiting from the panic. Spruce’s hit piece was released Aug 5th, the stock rose the entire day and it’s been in a legit uptrend since then, no panic lol. If this is Spruce’y bois M.O. they just fukd their company and their friends with another horrible call. It seems like Sprucey’s gone into hiding, hoping this all blows over. https://i.redd.it/enqy9vfmxbm71.gif Now it’s Cathie Wood’s/Ark Capital turn to polish off Spruce’s beautiful thighs. Cathie started loading the boat Aug 5, the same day of Spruce’y bois FUD article, and the same day of the DKNG/GENI transformative deal [source] https://preview.redd.it/mkj42psoxbm71.png?width=1196&format=png&auto=webp&s=04cf19309a136cec0b60564b0d881b2db1894769 Can’t help but respect Cathie’s bullish buying. More importantly however, is this rising floor Cathie is building into the stock price. She is known for having strong convictions and sticking to them. She’ll buy the triple layered guacamole sized dip & take the ride. But don’t take my word for it. Check out this big, green, dildo. Cathie, you bad. If you need any more proof, let’s take a look at the near-100%-of-float institution rate. It’s almost as if GENI has an unconscionably small float that’s being aggressively bought by diamond handz Cathie while the MM buys remaining float shares to hedge calls. https://preview.redd.it/6qtw0aerxbm71.png?width=570&format=png&auto=webp&s=b125abc619b0d2f3f96966ac63eff445603328cf https://i.redd.it/ipnyrecsxbm71.gif Part 2: Fundamentals GENI is the backbone/infrastructure play on sports betting since they supply the data that major gambling companies use. GENI offers a suite of four products: GeniusLive: this is a vertically integrated video service that allows teams or sports leagues to launch something like NBA League Pass. So the platform supports payments, live statistics, advertising, live streaming, and video on-demand, without having to buy a bunch of extra software/hardware. Sporttech: Data capture, management and analysis tools that help leagues run their sport, unlock new revenue streams, and protect the integrity of their competitions. This is essentially the shit that has turned Facebook from some site used to scam on girls in college into a company with revenues of over $10B a year. GENI collects all the data from degenerate bets, and provides the information gathered from them to their partners for future use. Sportsbook: GENI provides the capability (but not requirement) to build out an entire sportsbook platform for their partners. This provides all the benefits of having a sportsbook with none of the risk of spending capital on a field GENI partners are unfamiliar with. Media & Engagement: GENI has the platform capabilities to allow their partners sports betting experience to enter into the world of social media. You can chat in real time with other sports betters and complain that Nick Chubb stepped out at the 1 yard line and completely boned your 3 bet parlay. Through this platform GENI can leverage their fan engagement capabilities to drive advertising revenue and also promote future bets that may be to your liking based on your prior activity. As mentioned Genie’s only real competition in this space is Sportradar, but Sportradar’s SPAC merger fell through after GENI swooped the exclusive rights to the NFL from under them -- ya know, the ole’ Bulgarian ambush perfected by Vlad. The NFL deal is pretty significant so let’s dive into it: Expensive af: Genius will pay the NFL $120 million a year over six years, with half paid in warrants making the NFL own roughly 5% of GENI. Locked in profit: Sportradar was pulling in 1.5% to 2% of in-play gross gaming revenue (GGR) on NFL wagers [source]. Genius decided to go the opposite route by jacking up rates; asking for around 4% of operators’ pre-match NFL betting revenues and 6% of in-play [source]. Operators are big mad about this: "They don’t really have anything new,” said another operator exec. “They are charging 4x for the same dataset.” These guys are forced to use Genie’s official NFL Data either because they are official partners of the NFL (FanDuel, DraftKings, Caesar), state regulations require use of official data, or the TV networks force them to subscribe to Genie data to advertise. As of now, DraftKings has already partnered with GENI in a multi year deal, PointsBet, WynnBet, BetMGM, Caesars, and Fox Bet have also signed deals w/ Genius (NFL names Fox Bet, PointsBet, BetMGM and WynnBet as Approved Sportsbook Operators). This leaves only Fanduel as yet to be disclosed, but likely already signed with Genie. Senior operator exec’s legit crying that its a monopoly.lol. Sucks for them, great for us. Sticky: The Sportradar deal was inked in 2019 and they got cucked in 2021. Sad. GENI is proactively making moves to make the deal last longer than 6yrs by hiring a good amount of NFL vets. Including Steve Bornstein, he now leads GENI’s US business. Mans spent a decade at the NFL managing the media strategy, and spent multiple decades at ESPN and ABC. He also was the CEO of ESPN for a cool min. NFL shills for GENI: This cannot be reinforced enough: the NFL’s chief concern is the integrity of the data provided, and they are entrusting GENI, and ONLY GENI, with that. They will also force anyone who wants to do business with the NFL to adhere to the NFL’s core integrity policies by agreeing to license all Official League Data from GENI To put this in simpler terms: the NFL is telling the world -if you want us, you’re gettin’ some GENI. GENI also issued warrants to the NFL (5% stake in GENI) meaning when GENI is successful the NFL is successful so they are locked in and incentivized to push GENI to anyone who wants to work with them. https://i.redd.it/l3e1xpncxbm71.gif The reason I’m bullish on Genie and jacked with shares/options other than the regular “it could squeeeeeze” play which I know, love, and bang the shit out of, and will explain this angle later, is because Genie secured the NFL deal at the perfect time. So, 3 yrs ago the supreme court overturned the ban on sports betting. The NFL has responded by moving its business model towards generating significant amts of revenue through betting. Sucks for Sporttrader, since for most of the time they held the exclusive rights to NFL data, the NFL actually considered gambling to be threat😱, what a bad position to be in going into the gambling golden age. The NFL expects to make $270m in revenue from sports-betting this yr, and NFL execs are super bullish about their future sports betting revenue, here’s a quote from one: You can definitely see the market growing to $1 billion-plus of league opportunity over this decade.[source] The ideal sports-gambling legislation, the NFL concluded, would include substantive licensing requirements creating clear and transparent markets that protect consumers. Bets needed to be resolved using the league’s official data (GENI!! - fuck you, pay me.)[source] So, when I invest I try to think of analogies that speak to me. This lets me invest in a more logical and clear headed way. I compare this situation to the girl that sat next to you pre-OnlyFans. She used to eat ramen for lunch. A couple years later she has a poodle, a G Wagon, and goes by “Cyrstal like the champagne” instead of Bernice. Yah, she twerking on cam because she found a money printer, the NFL will twerk to online-betting. Analogy. The whole industry will be twerking. Cathie Wood’s a month before she started yolo’n on Jenaaay estimated x10 increase in domestic sports betting handle (the amount of money wagered by bettors is called “handle”), to $180 billion by 2025 , with revenue’s for the sector projected to sky at a 31% CAGR. One reason for this bullish prediction is the New Jersey example; since NJ legalized online sports betting mid-2018, they've seen online handle moon to $15 billion, 1/2 of this took place in 2020. (Don’t know why people would yolo on sports and not options, but to each their own lulz). Sportsbetting is picking up so much steam, ESPN keeps their own tracker for up to date info on which states are going to let you yolo rent $ on Appalachian State vs Syracuse: https://preview.redd.it/g68ri70exbm71.png?width=1272&format=png&auto=webp&s=95e3af4ca366eb8d64ba23ac0f970d51bdac69b8 There are only 3 states (Utah, Idaho, and Wisconsin - which btw if you live in any of these places - move the fuck out) that do not currently allow for sports betting and/or are in the process of allowing it. Ground floor opportunity here. Earlier this month, Wyoming Awarded Genius Sports Inaugural Sports Betting License - upping the number of states GENI can operate in to 15. So clearly Jenaayy is a growth stock but let’s look at the fundamentals & also how Genie compares to the competition. (Genie, Jenaayy, GENI, Genius … lol sorry I’m dislexic). Ya so Sportradar (Genie’s rival) is slated to go public this year and will likely trade in the $10-12B valuation range [article/source]. Sportradar filed its S-1 a few weeks ago which provides historical financial performance. Making some simple assumptions on continued revenue growth (based on historic CAGR) we can figure out Sportradar’s valuation multiples which we’ll compare to Jenaayyy’s. I’m also throwing in Draftkings in the comparison as a high growth (but unprofitable), pure play sportsbook leader. You can see below how the financials compare: https://preview.redd.it/1f6alqkfxbm71.png?width=1258&format=png&auto=webp&s=0c25a5c75f0ca5b4498d9883053284138e273ec7 I would argue Genie and Sportradar should trade at a premium to Draftkings as they have an effective duopoly on the sports betting data market. Draftkings’ sports book market is getting more competition from new players, which is causing customer acquisition costs to skyrocket. HOWEVER, as more of these players enter the market, they’ll have to buy all their official sports data from Jenaayy! https://i.redd.it/fk2cxfmgxbm71.gif Let’s get serious for a sec,, below is a valuation comparison and as you can see Genie trades at a discount to DKNG and at a premium to Sportradar’s expected IPO pricing valuation of $26-29 or $7.4B - $8.2B. It’s expected that Sportradar will trade in the $10B - $12B range once it starts trading. Genie should probs trade at a premium to Sportradar valuation given the enormous potential of its exclusive NFL deal over the coming years. Vauling Genie at a premium would imply a conservaitve estimate of $25 to $30 price per share based on the company’s CURRENT projections.. https://preview.redd.it/f75x253ixbm71.png?width=1260&format=png&auto=webp&s=d5a6d0efe77944fcd133102ba7e3424f6b93b026 Genie reported Q2 earnings on 9/8 which beat estimates. Revenue was $55.8M and EBITDA $5.2M vs. street estimates of revenue $53.8M and EBITDA $1.7M. Genie tightened its FY2022E guidance to $250M-$260M of revenue (which was increased in Q1 from $190M) and EBITDA of $10M-$20M. Don’t take my word for i though, Wall Street analysts agree with their Price Targets: Benchmark BUY $33 PT Oppenheimer BUY $32 PT Goldman Sachs BUY $31 PT Craig Hallum BUY $30 PT Needham BUY $28 PT Singular Research BUY $28 PT These 12-month price targets equate to an average $30.33 or 43 % upside from the current stock price. Some other data points: GENI is in a $330M net cash position Does it pay a dividend? Of course not Free cash flow is absolutely atrocious - the company is in reinvest and GROWTH mode Holy fuck is price to sales looks steep based on 2020A at 27.9x, but gets cut in half by 2022E at 12.3x due to massive growth Positive seasonality outlook, very volatile but shows recently strong performance Sales forecast looks great, with a forecasted growth of 126% from 2020 to 2022 First quarter group revenues of 52% year-over year First quarter group adj. EBITDA up 414% to 9.3M 6-year exclusive partnership with NFL Has exclusive events with almost every professional sports agency, as well as tournaments https://preview.redd.it/74rp8m1jxbm71.png?width=1268&format=png&auto=webp&s=09b50991702a45037e079fd174fc5bf6f870269c https://i.redd.it/hyzbzw4kxbm71.gif Part 3: Float and Lizard Lizard theory has evolved since my $NEGG and SPuRT posts. Other redditors have come up with extensions of the general idea. I’m going to do a breakdown of similar data from past analysis, including FTD rates and float comparisons, institutional ownership and recalculation of all this data (differs from online). As of now, the outstanding shares listed on Yahoo and sites such as Stock Analysis is 191.51M shares. [However, the float varies, with Yahoo listing it as 63.36M and other sites listing it as 58.66M.] **The current float can be calculated as follows:**SPAC IPO: 27.6M shares Unlocked PIPE: 33M shares Follow-On Offering: 22M shares Total tradable float: 82.6M shares Lock up: Management (34.9M shares / 18% ownership) lockup expires on 11/17 and the SPAC Sponsor lockup (6.825M shares / 3.5% ownership) lockup expires on 10/17. Apax, the private equity owner of Genius (60.2M shares / 30.9% ownership) lockup will expire on 10/17. The gory details are all laid out here https://preview.redd.it/i8iutvjtxbm71.png?width=1304&format=png&auto=webp&s=7afe38c8d0b516d5493ec4251cd9458f73f19d49 They also list the institutional ownership as around 44-45% but doing some calculations shows this is higher. So is this an overcount or undercount? Lets see. Begin Math: Given 191.51M shares outstanding as the general consensus across various financial sources, we can look into the overall preferred shares and institutional buyouts across several 13F filings and aggregated data on Fintel and StockAnalysis: Top 3 Institutional Holdings: Caledonia Investments - 16,305,582 shares Fred Alger Management - 15,046,102 shares Dmy Sponsor LLC - 6,825,000 shares These top 3 holders combined have 38176684 shares or about 19.93% of the shares outstanding. There are 137 other funds that also own shares directly, for a total of 63694543 shares or about another 33.26% of the shares outstanding. Therefore, institutional ownership alone is around (19.93% + 33.26%) or 53.19% of shares outstanding. Next we can take a look at the insider transactions. This has a general consensus of 19.25%, indicating that a total of 72.44% of the outstanding shares are owned currently. Now lets take a look at merger deals, ETFs and ownership through mutual funds. We can see that the top holders for Q2 of 2021 in aggregate own 17,422,176 shares or about 9.10% of shares outstanding. [source fintel] Our total ownership of outstanding shares becomes 81.54%. However, now we need to account for any institutions holding shares through these funds and for this reason some ETFs are excluded. Fred Alger Management has 15,046,102 shares of GENI yet through the ATFV Alger’s ETF, they end up owning approximately… oh wait.. Lol… approximately an equivalent of 75 shares of GENI. Okay so looking at these ETFs looks like they have negligible impact on the float. TLDR; The float for $GENI is about 35,352,746 shares or about 18.46% of outstanding shares. With 4.14M shares shorted this means that approximately 11.7% of the float is shorted. https://preview.redd.it/dvse6w5vxbm71.png?width=1310&format=png&auto=webp&s=ab367a73760c2e67324adb2459b7797512f474f7 From the FTD angle we see that nice giant spike with the price staying stable/bleeding up. This type of pattern I’ve found to give more pop, and it’s something I looked for. https://i.redd.it/cudusyyvxbm71.gif Part 4: Option Flow Order Sentiment: Bullish AF. 🌈🐻rekt. 77% of options activity over the last 30 days has been bullish. 66% of money invested has been placed on bullish bets of the stock rising. https://preview.redd.it/2b0lfz87vcm71.png?width=1336&format=png&auto=webp&s=4e26893ae05f3530e50ada76fe42cbe61464be0b Call OI has been trending up over the last month, you can see an increase in OI for higher strikes as GENI’s share price has increased 34.43% over the last month. The smart money has been betting on the price increase continuing. The option chain: there are only monthly options, and the options chain itself is somewhat condensed to near the money strikes. This is all actually a good thing. It is forcing investors to streamline their investments into a more concentrated area, which has a greater overall impact on both hedging requirements and overall stock price. This is exactly how a MM or a shorty in duress would not want the options chain to look. https://i.redd.it/8iic9s54vcm71.gif Part 5: Positions & Prayer 20k shares x100 25c 1/21/2022 x220 22.5c 10/15 x200 30c 1/21/2022 x220 22.5c 10/15 END: https://i.redd.it/gfrl0qivtcm71.gif TLDR; High short interest. Next gme. Blah blah blah. Stonks only go up. My (26F) boyfriend (27M) ran off in the middle of the night with our newborn son (2 weeks M)
First time posting, on mobile. Sorry this is long. As title says, we have a newborn son who is two weeks old. To recap the period leading up to this event: We had the baby on a Thursday and came home on Saturday. Roses. Everything was absolutely beautiful. Our relationship had never been stronger and we were so so happy. More in love with each other and with the little one then we thought possible. On Sunday we decided to pop a bottle of champagne. I have one glass and he continues saying “we can get drunk now!” I obviously didn’t want to get drunk but did not discourage him since we hadn’t drank in months (we used to drink together nightly). He ended up quite belligerent by the end of the night and it resulted in tears on my end since he was acting out of character. The next morning he sincerely apologized and said that if he ever got drunk like that again, he would stop drinking. That evening rolls around and we have a glass of wine with dinner. I did not want another but he continued to finish the bottle, and another. Drunk again, more tears. I explain to him (while he was drunk) the conversation we had the night prior about him not doing this and he broke down and came to bed and promised not to again. After a week of being home, my mother begins to travel to us (we live in CO, she lives in NY) to visit us for two weeks to help get settled with the baby. This visit has been planned for 4 months and was not a surprise. In the two days she is traveling, my boyfriend begins to transition from happy new father to protective new father. It is a difference but he is very confident in his new role and feels that his life has changed and he is very happy. My mother arrives at 8AM on a Monday and proceeds to say hi to us (although quite exhausted) and goes to sit on our porch to decompress after 48 hours of travel. My boyfriend comes to me and says that she was disrespectful when she arrived. I question him and say, I’m pretty sure she’s just tired, let’s let her rest and then we can all have a conversation about boundaries and more once she’s rested. He agreed and moved on with the morning. I didn’t think anything else of it. At around 9:30AM (90 minutes after her arrival), she passes him in the kitchen and he raises his voice and exclaims to her about how she “will not be disrespectful of him in his house” and more. I begin to bawl and beg him to stop. My mother (completely taken back) goes outside crying. My boyfriend is livid, I can see it in his eyes. I try to calm him down and go to check on my mother, who I then try to calm down. He comes outside and asks to speak to her and I leave them alone (hindsight, should not have done this) and after about 1 minute, my mom comes back inside yelling and crying “I’m done, I’m done” and tells me she is going to go back home. I try to speak to both of them but I can’t stop crying (had a baby 10 days ago at this point). My mother packs up to leave and does. My boyfriend thinks he has done the right thing and protected his family unit. I am devastated that my mom is gone as I wanted her help and guidance with the newborn. He is confident in his decision. In the next two days this confidence does not wane, and he says he “had to hurt me in this situation to maintain his family.” We went to bed around 11. We had argued some earlier in the evening but when bedtime rolled around we were actually on good terms and I went to sleep pretty hard because of that. I wake up to a stranger shouting my name, and I look over and the baby is not in his bed. I run out and a policeman is inside. The shower is running. The door is open. The policeman informs me that my boyfriend took the baby and ran out of our apartment building and to a house up the street and rang their doorbell. The officer asked me to come with him and he took me to the house where my boyfriend went. There were many officers outside asking me questions about different things. The consensus was that my boyfriend thought someone was going to kill him so he took the baby and ran. The officers took me inside the house, gave me the baby and then let me know they were taking my boyfriend to the hospital for an evaluation. The officers took me to a hotel for safety. The hospital ruled the case a “mental break” and that he was fine. He seemed fine when I picked him up and we went home. As the day went on he got more and more paranoid, so I called the police when he went to work. He insisted that I had bugged the apartment, that the neighbors were in on it, that my mom called our pediatrician, and more. The police suggested for us to separate for the evening and he stayed home and the baby and I are in a hotel again. What should I do now? He is continually paranoid now. I have a baby to protect. I don’t feel he is being rational in our home. Please help. Thank you for reading this. ETA: Overwhelming response, I did not expect this. The baby and I are safe. I called his mother who is now traveling to come get him. I called my sister who is planning to come now once he is gone from the house so she and I can go back together. Thank you all. This has been the worst week after the best week and I am exhausted. I turned to reddit to rationalize what I was thinking since I don’t have people to talk to outside of the situation. Thank you for the responses. UPDATE: Updating here - 2 months later. Baby and I are safe and bf has been getting help at his moms. I went to my moms. I’ve been communicating with his mom and he seems to be improving from her perspective. Thank you all again for the messages and the comments - it helped to have outside perspective when I was overwhelmed. I’m much better now then I was then. submitted by /u/ThrowRA123455555 to r/relationship_advice [link] [comments]

AITA for bluntly telling my daughter that she in no way is capable of parenting?
I'm almost 70 years old, my daughter is in her late 20s. I had to adopt her as I have never been able to get pregnant myself. While my daughter is married and graduated college, she is not... mentally healthy. That's just the truth. She was a deeply disturbed child. Always unhappy, always on the edge of freaking out. I tried to help, but she never wanted to hear it. She displayed some distressing traits, but not regularly enough to get it reported. She could never focus on anything and still can't. I am shocked that none of the places she's lived in her adult life have ever burned down, because she frequently started fires as a child out of negligence. She has always rushed for substances to cope with anything unpleasant in life. As a teenager, I had a suspicion that she was abusing cough syrup, but was never able to prove it. She has always drank too much. I'm sorry, but when you're regularly drinking entire bottles of wine and daily need a shot of liquor to "fall asleep", you have a problem. But she was "doing well in school" and then "had a good job" so I wasn't able to comment. I know now that she's likely just a functional alcoholic. She's always flirted with Xanax, but was never given a regular prescription. She always wanted children. After getting married, she actually did stop with the drugs and alcohol and got pregnant three years in. She lost the baby fairly late stage (18w). I hate to say it, but that's for the best. She and her equally...not well husband held a funeral for the child, which I of course attended. They were devastated, and for health reasons had a full year wait to try again. The year has passed and they're having the same difficulties and more. Her husband, my son in law, is a frequent flyer in the psych ward for depression issues. She's gone back to previous drinking and now takes Xanax on a daily basis. Her old medical issues that forced her on the pill are back. She is in therapy that clearly doesn't work and is always in hysterics about it. I'm sorry, but objectively, this is for the best. I'd rather go to a funeral a month for the same dead child than subject a living one to a life with these two as parents, with the high chance of inheriting it themselves. She wants to still be called a mother, which people oblige her in. I told her honestly that she needs to get herself and her partner in order before she should even think of getting pregnant and that a woman popping pills every day and washing it down with alcohol is in no way a fit parent. I'm apparently the asshole and "don't understand pain". Am I really the monster here? submitted by /u/strugglingoldwoman to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]
