HELP!! I'm a mail carrier with two boxes of baby chick's with no home!
Two different houses in our office zip code ordered baby chick's in the mail and they are ghosting us on delivery. Need a signature. Nobody home. Nobody answering phone. They have been in our office for over 24 hours. Going to attempt delivery one more time first thing this morning and then I'm lost if they can't get there. I don't know what to do UPDATE: One box successfully delivered. They were parakeets, not chickens Box two not delivered. So, it just so happens my wife and I bought a house with a couple chicken coups years ago, but have no chickens and never have had them. The chick's are back at the post office now, with a space heater by them. 95 degrees looks like the ideal temp from what I'm reading. My wife is coming to the office shortly to pick them up and bring them to our house. Hopefully get formula too. We will update from there once we know they are in a safe place. Also, I'm in Cleveland, Ohio UPDATE #2 - They are all at our house and setup. They all survived!!!! Also, THEY ARE TURKEYS!!!! My wife went to tractor supply and got all the things they'll need, thanks to all your advise. They'll be good with us for a day or two. I have the day off tomorrow and plan to spend the day finding a legit home, if the original buyers don't come looking for them UPDATE #3 - Baby Turkeys are doing great and incredibly adorable. I have tried calling the Hatchery they came from. A return to sender seems like the most logical solution, but they are closed for the day and not accepting voice mails, so i will call first thing in the morning. For now babies have all their needs met. I went back to tractor supply and bought baby turkey crumbles with 30% protein. I'm going to elevate the water dish if I can find something suitable to use. They are eating and drinking a ton. We have a whole bag of shaved pine to keep the box clean. They are in their own room, double gated and door shut, far away from our dogs. Still trying to find buyer as well. Thank you everyone so much for being awesome and helping us. *** I suppose I should've said originally what I meant by "return to sender". The Hatchery is less than an hour from my house. I'll drive them there myself. Final Update - HERE submitted by /u/Forward_Emu142 to r/BackYardChickens [link] [comments]

For months I’ve wanted a cat but haven’t felt ready, so I told myself that if one finds me, I’ll take it. Yesterday it happened 🥹
i truly cannot believe this is my life and i need to talk about and show her off 🥹 yesterday i was going for run at my usual trail and as soon as i pulled over i noticed a tiny cat laying on the side of the road (pic 2). i immediately went up to her slowly and weirdly enough she didn’t run away at all. i followed her for a bit and she even let me pet her. i eventually got close enough to grab her but she freaked out and after following her a bit more (and having a near panic attack when she was in the road as a car was coming), i decided to buy cat food and come back to hopefully lure her in (it was obvious she was hunting for food). i found her again RIGHT away and the poor baby was SO hungry. after about 30-45 minutes of luring her, 1 failed attempt, help from a nice random guy, and multiple scratches, we finally got her in my car! she freaked out for a couple seconds in there but then calmed down and sat on the back dashboard. i took her straight to the vet because 1. i had no idea what i was supposed to do and 2. she looked to be in rough shape. her claws & ears looked messed up, she had a bald patch on her chest, and had a bunch of ticks. the vet gave me a carrier and recommended me to pull my car in my garage and let her roam for a bit and to give them a call once she settles. after a couple hours of hiding in my garage (she loved laying under my dads toolbox), i was able to get her out, in the carrier, and brought her up to spend the night in my bathroom. i still can’t believe how fast she warmed up. i found her at 11am, got her in my car at 12pm, letting me pet her all over by 4pm, got her upstairs at 5:30, and by 7 she was so cuddly and affectionate. she started purring and meowing and rubbing up against me i wanted to cry 😭 she’s a flopper!!! i love cat flops so much!! she used her litter box and by 10pm she was meowing to greet me and was VERY vocal about being let out of the bathroom lol. i had to put treats in her bowl so i could sneak out. she had a vet appt today at 10 and not only is she the chillest, sweetest cat ever, she’s healthy!! i thought she was pregnant because her belly is big, but the vet said that’s from milk and she had kittens recently. i followed her to her little shelter that she stayed in and there were definitely no kittens there. vet thinks that because she’s so small (only 6 pounds!!) and young (around a year old), the kittens didn’t make it; which is sad, but i can’t help to feel a little relieved that there aren’t more stray, scared little babies roaming around outside :,( truly i cannot believe this is my life. she is the sweetest thing ever. she loves belly rubs and is so affectionate. i felt like a monster taking her but i’m so happy and relieved. she’s so chill. she literally slept in the car!!! anyways, done with the yapping. idc if no one reads this i need to tell anyone and everyone that will listen that this is my baby submitted by

Worth it to buy a baby carrier?
Hi! My LO is 4 month old, and we never got around to buying a baby carrier, because honestly a need never came up. Right now she still struggles a little to hold her head steady , and my husband read that carrying the baby in the carrier helps with neck muscles (along with tummy time of course) So my question is- should i get a baby carrier? Will i get to use it for a long time, because i dont want to invest in it only to use it for a couple months. If yes, what is a good carrier in 10-15k budget that i can use for at least two years submitted by /u/rashi2708 to r/twoxindiamums [link] [comments]

I’m honestly overwhelmed.. what’s the best baby carrier you’ve actually used?
I’ve read so many reviews and every time I think I’ve found a good one, someone says the straps are uncomfortable or it’s a pain to put on. Wraps seem cozy but complicated, structured carriers sound easy until people talk about shoulder pain, and ring slings look simple but I’m not sure how practical they are day to day. What I’m really looking for is the best baby carrier that’s comfortable for walks, easy to put on by myself, and doesn’t make my back or shoulders scream after a few minutes. I also tend to run hot, so anything that feels like a sauna isn’t great. If you’ve tested a few, which baby carrier ended up being the best for you and why? And which ones should I avoid because they were uncomfortable, awkward, or just not worth the hype? Real opinions would help so much. submitted by /u/Commercial-House-795 to r/babywearing [link] [comments]

My August baby is my third. My oldest is 4 and he’s obsessed with his brothers. You adapt and you do things you never imagined yourself being capable of. Get a baby carrier lol. I found the transition to two very smooth actually but for sure a lot depends on the baby’s temperament. Giving your baby a sibling is the greatest gift imo

I already have the solly wrap but I’m borrowing a friends so don’t have experience using it. My sister is being told hy her doctor to carrier her baby with life-limiting diagnosis ( Alabama)
My sister (F29) is about 23 weeks pregnant. She had a follow-up from her 20-week anatomy scan. They had found that her baby's kidneys were not functioning, leading to low fluids and cysts in her lungs that will make it hard to breathe oxygen. She also has a heart defect. It's a very sad situation to see my sister so upset . My sister asked what her options were ... Doctors told her that theres nothing they can do and pretty much after the baby is born she will shortly die. She asked them " So what ?? Im going to have to carry to full term and then she dies ?" Doctors said yes. So I called my sister and talked about abortion. Its not going to be easy but to carry a baby to full term knowing the outcome is heartbreaking . She agreed abortion would be the best path for her emotionally , mentally and physically . I woukd appreciate any positive comments I myself have used the Auntie Network in 2022. It wasn't easy but this community was nothing but helpful submitted by /u/ItsKarmaBby to r/auntienetwork [link] [comments]

Baby carrier which to pick!
Hi everyone, I’m trying to decide which baby carrier to purchase. I have always dreamed of having an artipoppe so am leaning towards this as my first choice but the price is so high. I also like the look of portier but have heard they aren’t as comfortable. I was also thinking is it worth having two and one as a practical option for more longer hikes like the ergo Omni or would one carrier be fine. She doesn’t want to be tested because she doesn’t want to know, but the symptoms are obvious and she definitely has it. With it being genetic, it is a 50/50 chance all descendants of people with huntingtons disease will be a carrier, my nephew hasn’t been tested and doesn’t know that he is a 50/50 carrier, and doesn’t know his mother is a carrier either. I am the only person he’s told about him having a baby. He is incredibly excited and happy and he can’t wait to tell the family. What he doesn’t realise is he’s giving life to a child that is likely to be diagnosed with a brain-eating illness and I don’t think that’s fair. I am a strong believer that, after watching my brothers hate my father for giving them life knowing the risk, that you shouldn’t take the risk unless you are tested negative. I feel like I should tell him but I don’t want to be the asshole that goes over the head of his mother and disallowing her from telling him the truth. He is 18 years old, he has so much life left in him. My sister, his mother, she has lived enough of her life that if she starts experiencing severe symptoms now, she’s already lived. For those who don’t know, a quick google search will show how devastating huntingtons disease is not only for the person, but for families. It destroys generations, it can end bloodlines. It slowly eats away the brain, taking your ability to eat, talk, move, think, and every other neurological response slowly. This stemmed from my father, luckily I tested negative. submitted by /u/Jolly_Green_4255 to r/offmychest [link] [comments]

Just buy the expensive baby carrier
If you plan to or are regularly baby wearing, just buy the nicer gear - it's worth it. My LO is turning 1 this month and I've spent the past year with what I thought was a decent baby carrier but man was I missing out. I just bought myself the Lark from Hope&Plum and I really really wish I would have had it from jump. It's insane how much more comfortable this simple carrier is. Not only is it leaps comfier, it's way way way easier to get situated correctly. For context, I initially purchased myself the infantino from Target. It is so incredibly uncomfortable. I was then gifted a LilleBaby and I really thought that was expensive and fancy. It's fine, but I always struggled to get all the straps adjusted just right and never felt it was correct or super comfortable and the seat situation with the snaps was unnecessarily complicated. submitted by /u/corndog40 to r/NewParents [link] [comments]

Wearing a baby carrier as a man is sometimes seen as feminine. Alternatively it’s also a trophy to your virility strapped to your chest.

AITAH for putting a tracker on my daughter baby carrier
I am a dad, to a 5-month-old baby girl. During the pregnancy, my wife and I were talking and I mentioned a few times about putting a tracker on our daughter when she was born. She mentioned this to her mother. Her mother was mad and completely against it. Me and my mill argued about this and I dropped it. Later on, I told my wife that I was putting it on her baby carrier she just said okay a few days later I went out to buy an AirTag and put it on the carrier I told my wife that I put it on there and it was set up. It’s been 5 months and thankfully I’ve never needed it. Today my sister has her overnight and my iPhone notified me saying that my daughter's tracker no longer was near me (meaning my sister left to go home with her) I told my wife that they left and just gotten on the highway. She ask me how I knew she was on the highway I told her the AirTag told me. she now claims I never told her and don’t remember me telling her that I put it there I finally convinced her that we had this conversation multiple times and that I told her. she now insists we tell her family. I know even if my wife convinces her mother to just allow it she will just use her baby carrier and a completely different set of baby stuff. I do not want anybody to know now my wife is giving me short answers when I talk to her AITAH Edit To clarify a few things my wife has memory issues so there are times where we have full-blown conversations and she doesn’t remember having them especially during the pregnancy and afterwards no matter what it’s about Second I have no interest in tracking my wife we have Life360 where we can see both each other’s location at all times so there’s no need for a tracker if I really wanted one and My Wife insisted on the Life360 submitted by /u/Jet_1123 to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]

A new look at an extremely rare female infant burial in Europe suggests humans were carrying around their young in slings as far back as 10,000 years ago.The findings add weight to the idea that baby carriers were widely used in prehistoric times.

I’m moving overseas with this sweet baby. She is terrified of the carrier. What can I do to help her with this scary transition? I don’t want to sedate her.

I took my son on his first backpacking trip. Prior to this trip he always rode in a baby carrier while hiking. He wanted be like me so I had to rig up a ‘baby carrier’ for him and put a ‘baby’ in it.
