I'm also a first timer, 7 weeks, but my plan for stretch mark prevention is beef tallow soap and beef tallow balm. Been using it on my face and body for a while and it helped with old stretch marks. Then I plan to do a lot of fasting and red light postpartum. I was doing that before getting pregnant and autophagy + redlight helps heal all kinds of stuff.

Best brand for beef tallow & honey balm? Bonus points if it has GHK-CU included
Hey everyone, looking for recommendations for a solid, organic ingredient tallow balm, and as mentioned, bonus for the inclusion of GHK-CU. Two brands I’ve seen with solid results are from Peptide Labz and from HealthyDerm. Just curious if there’s any personal testimonials that anyone can offer here. Thanks in advance :) submitted by /u/HomemadeSpaghetti to r/malegrooming [link] [comments]

Somewhere at a photo shoot, it's "Beef Tallow Rebrand - Take 6, Action" 🎬
This started last night: first one, then two, then the third and fourth editions of the exact same thing. Today brought the fifth and sixth. Each one posed a little differently for its cameo. Tilted this way, a little dab'll do you that way. A bow for formal attire, a stick of butta for the "body butter" lovers 🤦♀️. All six the same. Terrific how it reinvents itself in another (but same) iteration. BTW, I took the original of this product months ago, so this would technically be a repeat if I wanted it, which I don't. Sellers create a loophole by renaming and assigning various ASIN #s Surprised there weren't seventh and eighth photo editions too, perhaps with a fascinator, top hat, or moustache for a more masculine effect. Maybe they're forthcoming 🤔 Talk about perfume on a pig. Still the same pig. Or in this instance, cow. 🐄 Not really, though. I'd wager that there's more tallow in one french fry than in this entire jar. submitted by /u/Lopsided-Reward6603 to r/AmazonVineCanada [link] [comments]

Unscented beef tallow (or other) skincare that doesn‘t smell rancid? (And other skincare care items that you use, animal-based or other)
Hello everyone, I am looking for unscented skincare that won’t smell rancid, or bad. I’ve tried some tallow balms but some smelled kind of bad right away (rancid, or somehow off), or developed a bad smell fast when wearing it on the skin, so I think those might have been not cleared enough in the process? So I’m looking for a high quality, several times processed (don’t know how exactly it is purified) balm or something like that so that it won’t start smelling so fast, haha. Other skincare you might use would also be super interesting! I’m also looking for shampoo / soap / lip balm, stuff like that. :) I’m in Germany, so shops that ship from not too far away would be great, too, but farther away is also fine. I thought I’d try to use swarm intelligence since I can’t afford too many trials and errors and it seems wasteful. Thanks a bunch in advance!! :) p.s. also if you all know a cooking tallow that doesn’t smell rancid from the get-go would be really, really cool!!! Much appreciated! submitted by /u/ReadIntelligent8116 to r/carnivorediet [link] [comments]

Is this beef tallow moisturiser ingredients safe?
I thought it only had four ingredients but now it’s arrived from AliExpress. Can see there are many more INGREDIENTS: AQUA. MINERAL OIL GLYCERIN, GLYCERYL STEARATE CARSOMER. TRIETHANOLAMINE. CITRUS RETICULATA (TANGERINE) EXTRACT TALLOW. MEL, HYDROGENATED OLIVE OIL I bought it from AliExpress so I’m quite sceptical at it authentic ingredients, but was curious whether any of these are in any way harmful or even mildly toxic for daily long-term use, in hope to help with anti-aging submitted by /u/Upper-Drop4827 to r/SkincareAddicts [link] [comments]

Has anyone tried beef tallow balm(formulated for skin use obviously)?
I think this is a pretty debated product, so I’m not sure what most of you will think, but I picked up a jar of a beef tallow balm at Marshall’s the other day. I can’t remember the brand..it’s all organic, unscented, and contains only the tallow, olive oil, beeswax and honey. I know olive oil is comedogenic but I have used many other oils that are and my skin hasn’t reacted negatively at all. Anyway, I thought I would try it as my occlusive layer so I picked it up. As I was reading the reviews, I saw that that tons of people find it effective for eczema. I’ve had a big dermatitis patch under my arm for months that I can’t get rid of. I was already using deodorant without aluminum, but switched to one without baking soda as well in case that was causing the irritation. I’ve tried various otc treatments and the only thing that made even a slight improvement was a hypochlorous acid spray. Until this new balm. I’ve only used it two nights and it has made SUCH a difference. It’s crazy how much it has faded it after only two nights. I am also using it as an occlusive layer and my skin seems to respond positively. Anyone else had any experience with beef tallow? submitted by /u/Blazeon28 to r/SkinbarrierLovers [link] [comments]

Beef tallow?
I have learned so much from you wonderful people in the short time I've been here (about two months). I am desperately trying to get beauty to populate in my RFY but so far no dice. I felt super lucky to get this beef tallow this morning in AI. I have rarely been lucky enough to get anything. I don't use an extension because I'm not going down to my office to get on the computer at 3 AM lol. My problem is I have no idea what to do with it? Is it for your face or body? It does show both, but since I've never used it I wanted to ask the experts. Any tips are welcome! submitted by /u/Icy-Employment-8805 to r/BeautyViners [link] [comments]

Beef Tallow for Skin: Benefits, Risks, and Common Mistakes
TL;DR: Beef tallow is the closest topical match to human skin oil (sebum) available. When used correctly, it supports barrier repair, calms irritation, and works exceptionally well for dry, sensitive, eczema-prone, and reactive skin. Most problems come from misuse or poor-quality tallow, not from tallow itself. Beef tallow has exploded in skincare discussions, but most of the information online is either hype or fear-mongering. This post lays out what tallow actually does for skin, where it helps, where it doesn’t, and why many people get bad results even when tallow itself isn’t the problem. What beef tallow actually is: Beef tallow is rendered fat, traditionally from beef suet. When properly rendered and unoxidized, it’s primarily composed of saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids, similar to those already present in human sebum (your skin’s natural oil). That similarity is the core reason people try it. It's also the core reason many people have extraordinary results. Tallow does not act like a typical modern “moisturizer.” It doesn’t add water to the skin. It functions as a lipid layer that reduces water loss and supports barrier function. Potential benefits of beef tallow for skin: Barrier support - Tallow forms an occlusive lipid layer that slows transepidermal water loss. For people with dry, compromised, or over-exfoliated skin, this alone can dramatically reduce irritation. Simplicity - Pure tallow contains no fragrances, preservatives, emulsifiers, or solvents. For people reacting to long ingredient lists, fewer variables can mean fewer reactions. Sebum compatibility - Its fatty acid profile overlaps with human sebum more than most plant oils. This can make it feel “natural” on some skin types. Stability - Saturated fats are less prone to oxidation than many polyunsaturated plant oils, which can be relevant for sensitive or reactive skin. Risks and downsides (this matters): Beef tallow is not universally good for skin. It can worsen acne for some people when: Used in excess, Layered over other occlusives, Applied to already congested skin, Used with poor cleansing habits It does not hydrate - Tallow does not add water to the skin. On dehydrated skin, it can seal in dryness if used incorrectly. Its best applied on slightly damp skin. Quality matters more than people think - Oxidized, overheated, deodorized, or poorly rendered tallow can irritate skin and smell unpleasant. Many negative experiences trace back to quality issues, not tallow itself. Not ideal for all skin conditions - People with certain types of fungal acne (Malassezia-driven) may react poorly to fatty substrates. This is not universal, but it’s real. Common mistakes people make with tallow: Using too much This is the #1 mistake. Tallow is dense. A pea-sized amount is often more than enough. Overapplication increases the chance of congestion. Treating it like a lotion - Tallow is not a water-based moisturizer. Applying it to completely dry skin often gives poor results. Many do better applying it to slightly damp skin. Layering it with everything - Using tallow on top of silicones, heavy creams, or multiple occlusives can trap debris and worsen breakouts. Expecting it to fix everything - Tallow supports the skin barrier. It does not exfoliate, treat hyperpigmentation, kill bacteria, or replace prescription treatments. Assuming “grass-fed” guarantees quality - Grass-fed describes how the animal ate, not how the fat was rendered, stored, or handled. Rendering process matters more than the label. Who tends to benefit most from tallow: -Very dry skin -Compromised skin barriers -Minimalist routines -Over-exfoliated or irritated skin -People reacting to complex formulations Who should be cautious: -Fungal-acne-prone skin -People who dislike heavy textures (if this is you, avoid balms, opt for tallow face-creams or serums) -Anyone layering many products already Why dermatologists are skeptical of tallow: Modern dermatology is optimized for: 1. Large controlled clinical trials 2. Liability protection 3. Insurance billing and prescription pathways 4. Standardized, FDA cleared, predictable formulations → Anything that cannot be patented, tightly standardized, prescribed, or billed is structurally disfavored, no matter how well it may work in the real world. This is the same reason why doctors rarely recommend things like sunlight exposure, sleep optimization, dietary fat quality, or exercise for immune system health. Not because they do not work, but because they are not billable, patentable, or prescribable. You cannot code them, brand them, or run them through the same incentive machinery. Pills and surgeries fit the system. Lifestyle interventions do not. Tallow is inexpensive, biologically variable, impossible to patent, and difficult to study at scale. That makes it unattractive for clinical guidelines, regardless of real world outcomes. Meanwhile, many individuals report excellent long term results, as seen in the user submitted before and after photos throughout this subreddit. This is not suppression or incompetence. It is incentives. Tallow exists in outcome based skincare. Dermatology guidelines exist in a different universe. Bottom line: Beef tallow isn’t a miracle, and it doesn’t need to be. After your skin’s own natural oil, it’s the most biologically compatible moisturizers you can apply. When used correctly, it supports the skin barrier, calms irritation, and restores comfort in ways many modern products fail to do. For most people, especially those with dry, sensitive, eczema-prone, or reactive skin, it works exceptionally well. Nearly all failures come from misuse or poor-quality tallow, not from the ingredient itself. If you’re curious, start slow, use very little, and don’t stack it with everything else. submitted by /u/Fit_Psychology_1536 to r/TallowSkincare [link] [comments]

What do beef tallow and hair dryers have in common?
Apparently me! So my RFY has been meh this morning with: - a $0ETV cheap looking hair bun I'm not interested in -a $42ETV acrylic holder with custom holes for a dryer I do not own -a $0ETV set of temporary tattoos -a $20ETV vent system for a car I do not own I didn't see anything in beauty except that purple hair styler I missed. Checking on and off from 6 am to almost 10 am while doing other things. I was about to give up and started writing a post about today being a zero order day. I said let me refresh one more time and thought about getting the tattoos but then said nope I don't want to write another review and I've never been interested in tattoos. Refreshed RFY 9:49 and saw a $0ETV lip balm from a brand I got a serum from in the past. Cool, got that. Copied info to document for review space. Refreshed again 9:52 and $0ETV hairdryer pops up. Click, click, and click! So now, I need to order a beef tallow when one pops up (are you sure I can't claim the tallow chips from yesterday?) to fulfil my end of the bargain with Jeff. Tl;Dr I got another hair dryer in RFY and I have to order a beef tallow product to appease the Vine Gods. submitted by /u/DocLava to r/BeautyViners [link] [comments]

I got suckered into trying beef tallow
was going to post this on a throw away account, but fuck it. story needs to be told. I got suckered by TikToks into trying beef tallow, got convinced it's the "ancient skincare secret" i needed. So I bought this "premium grass-fed beef tallow balm" for like $45 (already red flag #1) from some Instagram brand. Started using it every night, thinking I was being all natural and smart. For the first few days, my skin felt super moisturized, almost too moisturized tbh. But I thought that was good? By day 5, I woke up with a full on breakout. Acne, cystic kind EVERYWHERE. we're talking painful bumps even my neck. I've never had acne this bad, not even during puberty. Turns out beef tallow is comedogenic as hell for most people (duh, it's literally animal fat), and all those "success stories" were probably from people with completely different skin types or straight-up fake reviews. Lesson learned: if it sounds too good to be true and influencers are pushing it hard, it probably is. Stick to the boring, proven stuff. Don't be like me and fall for the "natural = better" trap when you're stressed and not thinking clearly. submitted by /u/pxrage to r/30PlusSkinCare [link] [comments]

Beef Tallow Balm Skincare (safety info)
PSA: I used to own a business making skin care and soap. I learned about safe manufacture of some skincare products and I’m aware of the FDA guidelines. There are some beef tallow skincare products coming out of China, which are deceptive and possible safety hazards in Vine. I just want to share this information. Scientifically speaking, an anhydrous product is one made without water. For example, a balm, salve, or a lotion bar has no water in it but they all have oils and/or fat. To change them from liquid and to make them able to be more solid they add a wax such as beeswax or jojoba oil, (which is actually a wax). These real balms are solid or very thick at room temperature. They will melt on your skin as your skin temperature heats it up. Bacteria, mold and mildew do not grow in anhydrous products. Those things that we don’t want in our skincare need water to live and multiply. Beef tallow is the fat from a cow and lard is the fat from a pig. Other products made with water and/or an oil and/or a fat are a prime environment to grow bacteria, which may get introduced from your hand or fingers as you dip into the jar. They can also grow mold or mildew. Those products that have water plus oils/fats need a preservative to prevent the growth. Lotion and cream have water in them as a main ingredient. We don’t want to be using lotions or creams that are filled with bacteria or mold or mildew. Some other things that this applies to are sugar scrubs, and scrubbing cream soaps sold in a jar. There’s a trend for beef tallow balm for the face as a natural moisturizer. Sometimes they advertise it also for your body use. It has gone viral on TikTok. Men are using it and printing take balms too. I have used some brands that I like. I’m all for balms. The issue is that now vine has some products (made in China are the ones I have received) that actually are technically speaking, a lotion or skin cream, because they are made with water plus the oils and the beef tallow, but there is no preservative. These are unsafe to use. They are not a balm. One that I got this week shows on the product page that it only contained beef tallow, some oils and beeswax. It said it was all natural. When I received it, the ingredients list on the jar side and on the box say the primary ingredient is mineral oil, which is a petroleum product (not natural and is lab made), it has the beef tallow and olive oil, and beeswax, but it also has multiple lab made ingredients which are meant to emulsify liquids and oils to create a smooth lotion. It also had water as a main ingredient and was very much like a light skin cream in its consistency. It has no preservative, which means it is a prime environment for growing bacteria, mold, or mildew. We’ll see if they publish my review. I just wanted to teach everybody this in case you are using beef tallow skincare products and I wanted to explain why you should be concerned if you order a BALM but it is actually a lotion because it has water, but yet it doesn’t have a preservative, which makes it unsafe. Sidebar: shower gels are not technically speaking a soap; they’re made with water and they need a preservative. The traditional way of making a bar of soap is called cold process soap, and although that has water in it, the water has converted through a chemical process with the lye (sodium hydroxide) and the oils/fats into a new thing called soap. There is no free water in a bar of real soap. That is why a bar of actual soap cannot grow bacteria or mold or mildew on it. That is why a real bar of soap lasts years or decades without expiring or going bad. submitted by /u/artisanmaker to r/AmazonVine [link] [comments]

[PSA] DO NOT USE BEEF TALLOW
EDIT- THE CULPRIT WAS PROBABLY FRANKINCENSE. USE TALLOW AT YOUR OWN RISK FROM A REPUTABLE BRAND! i fell for it. i fell for the tiktoks and tried it. i had a good routine, my skin was going very well then i tried beef tallow and it has WRECKED my skin. completely dehydrated it and i have no idea how or why. i used it for almost a month probably 3 ish weeks and my skin is now EXTREMELY dehydrated but producing so much oil to try and compensate. so im extremely shiny and dry all the freaking time. the fine lines are showing when i never even had them before hand and my skin feels literally tight and irritated. i’m trying everything to fix it i even tried mixing my moisturizer with castor oil but i feel like it only gets worse. if it works for you, you’re lucky! i wish it would work for me so bad but now im having to fix this awful issue. any help on how to cure dehydrated skin would be appreciated. right now my routine is ponds cleansing balm, vanicream gentle cleanser, cocokind barrier serum, natrium peptide moisturizer and avene cicaflate+ on top to seal it all in. in the morning no cleanse, serum moisturizer and black girl kids spf 50. edit: my beef tallow was grass fed and had olive oil and frankincense oil in it. edit 2: when i was using it, my routine was oil cleanser, vanicream gentle cleanser, sprits lrp toleraine water, ceravae night cream, beef tallow. i knew to use it as an occlusive and it still disrupted my barrier intensely. submitted by /u/ohanaa03 to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

[Review] I tried Beef Tallow on my skin for two weeks. Here’s what happened.
As you may know, Beef Tallow has been a recent trend within Skincare. Tallow has been historically used for skin. It can treat ezcema, irritation, psoriasis, etc. The specific tallow that I used was VanMan’s Honey and Tallow Balm. Ingredients include: 100% Grassfed Beef Tallow, Honey, Beeswax, Olive Oil, and an Essential Oil blend. I am post-accutane, and recently have been suffering from minor breakouts. I’ve been using PanOxyl to control it, but I wanted to minimize my routine as much as possible. I read about Beef Tallow, and how it’s probably the most organic skincare out there. Tallow contains similar things to the makeup of our skin, such as fatty acids and certain vitamins. Many testimonies and reviews have stated that Tallow replaced their entire skincare routine. Despite being post-accutane, I still have oily skin. On day one when I first put Tallow on my face, the first effect that I noticed was that it immediately softened my skin. It felt really good and absorbed really well. Another crazy thing is that it actually stopped my oily skin. I’ve never had a moisturizer that did that before. I felt that the testimonies were true. My skin also felt hydrated throughout the day. First week in, my pores began getting clogged but I had little to no inflammation. I read online and people say this was an “adjustment” phase or a purge. Further testimonies state that it subsides after another week, so I decided to stay with it. Another week in, more pores kept getting clogged and more closed comedones were appearing. I decided to stop it, and was overall disappointed. However, despite being comedogenic, VanMan’s Tallow did provide some amazing benefits. Pros: •Controls Oily skin •Softens skin •Good hydration ⭐️Magic Inflammation eraser (like seriously this thing erases inflammation) ⭐️Heals skin MAGICALLY fast (I picked at spot and ruined a patch of my skin. Rubbed some tallow on it and it healed in 6 hours) Cons: •Clogged pores. Causes Non-inflammed comedones. •Smell is a little off-putting. Conclusion: Overall, I’ll probably keep using the Tallow, just for my body/lips and not my face. Also I noticed most of the reviews and testimonies came from older individuals. Tallow most likely works really well for mature skin, and not for young skin. I’m only 19 years old, and it didn’t work for me as much as I wanted it to. Back to Differin and Chemical Science Based Skincare! TLDR: I tried Beef Tallow skincare for two weeks. Clogged my pores but it had its benefits. Works well for body, not face. Most people who say it worked are older people with mature skin, and it didn’t work for me as a young individual. submitted by /u/Adventurous_Bar6495 to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

I tried beef tallow as a moisturizer
I’ve been seeing a lot of positive/negative reviews regarding beef tallow being used on your face/skin etc, so I decided to try it out myself to see how things go. I suffer from dry skin especially from using tretinoin so I decided to use beef tallow and it’s been working wonders (I do not use tretinoin and tallow at the same time)! I no longer have dry, flaky, peeling skin and it’s been keeping me moisturized throughout the day. The tallow may not work for everyone I am simply sharing my experience. It may sound strange to rub beef fat on your face but I’ve been seeing positive results. It is not heavy, sticky, or greasy feeling. Your skin may look “greasy/glowy/shiny” after but it does not bother me, if that is not your thing then tallow may not be for you. There may also be a slight smell depending on where you purchase your tallow or how it was made. The smell does not bother me but if you have a sensitive nose you might think otherwise. I would love to hear about anyones experience with using tallow whether its good or bad. submitted by /u/igobysim to r/SkincareAddicts [link] [comments]
