Hi, I have a Bissell Little Green ProHeat Pet Portable Carpet Cleaner and it's leaky at the handle nozzle part. I use it to suck up dog pee and where the nozzle joins the hose, juices come out. I have tried plumber's tape as seen in this photo and it seemed to make a nice seal, but it eventually came through. Hi. I am planning to buy a vacuum cleaner with HEPA filtration for my 1100 sq ft apartment. I have a dust allergy (not severe, but it is there). I have been using it for 2+ years, and it started making a loud noise when on, and the dust spreads everywhere when vacuuming. Here are some I have shortlisted some bagged and bagless vacs after reading the Amazon reviews and similar posts from this sub. I am not sure how much I need the bagged vacs. But the consensus is that they last longer, which is something I would like. I would prefer a vac that does both carpet and hard floor since I am not sure if I would change my current rental apartment. Kenmore Intuition B4050 ($189): Was originally considering it, but the hose down below connecting the vacuum and upper part seems to break within 6 months to 1 year (multiple reviews). Serious issue. Over a year this really would add up as I intend to clean it once a month. My Solution: So I purchased this Bissell little green from Walmart a few months ago for around $100 and within a few months I started having problems with the dirty tank leaking into the bottom of the appliance, which is a known issue that seems to originate from the duck bill gasket. I replaced the gasket but the parts have to come from Bissell the company themselves. Third-Party Sellers/Generic Compatible Parts: I know for the Dyson some smart person has made replacement parts for the V10 filters. The original filters which go for $36 on the Dyson website and are constantly out of stock. So you can buy a filter from Amazon that's less money. I was wondering if there is a similar way to get a replacement duck bill gasket (buying it from the Bissell website and shipping it is cost prohibitive). There are similar ones on Amazon, although the shipping would be $30 and the part just for one gasket would be $30 so obviously not worth it to say to have to do this every few months wondering if anybody knows if the new green machines or any carpet cleaners have a better to design for their dirty tank. There is a recall for other Bissell products here. This is for a separate issue however this carpet cleaner has burnt me. I did not have this problem with previous models. I have been researching Bissell carpet cleaners ad NAUSEAM. There are so many back and forth opinions on “best of” pages and trial YouTube videos. To put it simply, I do not care about the bells and whistles— such as the clean shot features or fancy new models. I want the BEST at deep cleaning, especially animal stains & smells. One that performs as close to a professional cleaner as possible. $500 or less is what I’m willing to spend. I appreciate all your actual user opinions!!! Especially if you’re in a similar situation to my wife and I. For starters, I use my machine very regularly, so it gets some HEAVY use. My wife and I have two dogs, one older pup with mild incontinence and several cats!(we are big time rescue mamas🩵) So we’ve got all the normal animal situations going on….. x5 . 🤣 I currently have the Revolution Pet Pro 2x(purple). And although it’s never gotten deep enough for our needs/my liking, it was pretty good for about the first year and worked decent for the second. The suction was actually pretty solid! Then parts started breaking and falling apart. For ex: the handle trigger, the top wheel cover tray, a crack in the back portion that causes leaking when the water tray sits etc. (I don’t recommend this one to those in need of a machine who will use it regularly or for bigger jobs.) And yes, I do want another Bissell as I know they can be the best carpet cleaners in the game. (We use and love our little green machine for tiny messes) But I’m open to other brands! Hello Cleaning Community! With prime day coming up, a friend and I agreed to go 50/50 on a upholstery/carpet cleaner. To give an idea of what we want it for: Myself: I have a Papasan Chair that is a nightmare to clean by hand. My plan is that I want to clean it and restuff it. I have this old, large, blue couch that I want to remove 30-odd years of food stains from. I have parts of the couch covered by blankets to hide the stains. I'm aware I won't get everything out, but I want to try. Something is better than nothing. I have a cat who likes to eat too fast and vomit. My friend: 2 Dogs, one of which likes to poop in the house. I've been scavenging through amazon for "the right one" and I am primarily worried I am going to find one that says it does Carpet and Upholstery, but the Upholstery part is really just a buzz word and its actually JUST for carpet. To my understanding, the main difference between the two is that upholstery is for softer materials while carpet is for the deep cleaning carpets need. Renting a cleaner is not really an option either due to our area. We want to stay under $200. I wanted to find a cordless one but after research, I think that's wishful thinking and I am okay with a corded one. I purchased this carpet cleaner, and am planning to use it on stubborn stains this week for the first time. I also sometimes need to clean up cat throw-up messes. I’ve been using a spray that does a pretty good job, but am excited to use something that should do a more thorough clean and remove the mess in a different way. When I purchased this Shark StainStriker, I knew it would come with the cleaning solutions they make, but I’m wondering if any other cleaning solutions (perhaps cheaper, but safe for the machine and for my two cats to be around afterwards as it dries) are available or compatible. The pet attachment is nice because it picks up a pet vomit mess without sending that mess through the main tubing. I’m looking forward to trying it out! To summarize… can I spray an enzyme cleaner (or spray something besides the provided solutions - I have a few favorite spray and scrub solutions, but didn’t previously have a way to suck the solutions and accompanying water out of the carpet and more aggressively tackle the messes, which is the main goal) on the carpet or use something that requires a minimal amount of scrubbing, and then use just water to clean that area with the Shark? I’m partly hoping to reduce costs and partly wondering if the provided Shark solutions are the only or best thing recommended with this particular kind of machine. TL;DR update: Basically, I didn't realize how bad the Bissell Little Green was until I tried a different model. This is the first time I've bought a "carpet cleaner" to clean small spots, and I'm really confused. I thought "carpet cleaners" are supposed to clean the carpet by automatically brushing them and massaging the area with dispensed cleaning fluid. The Bissell Little Green is just a super-weak wet-dry (shop-vac style) vacuum with a water spray that leaks all over the place. It's very hard to aim the spray. And I still have to manually scrub the area with a separate scrubber. Why is it marketed as a "carpet cleaner"? It takes me less time and effort to manually clean the spot with carpet cleaner and then scrub it. Wet-dry (shop-vac) vacuums have a better suction and dry the area faster. And those ones cost $50 instead of $130 like the Little Green. Edit: I think what I need is a small, compact wet vacuum that's easy to clean. Either something similar to only the wet vacuum part of the Little Green. Or something similar to a smaller version of a shop vac. Update 2: I ended up returning it. A month later, I bought the Hoover CleanSlate Plus Portable Carpet. It's very similar, but it's a much better model. Doesn't leak Better attachments Easy to clean. Can actually disassemble the nozzles More compact Has better suction and doesn't splash all over the place. I've been a cashier at Lowe's for over a month now, but I'm still a little unclear on the whole process for dealing with rentals for the Bissell carpet cleaners. I know you get out the book thingy with the paperwork in it; I just need to know which parts the cashier and the customer are supposed to sign and what I need to let the customer know about the rental. Then I need to know what to do when the customer comes back with the cleaner. I think you also send the customer over to customer service at some point to complete the process, but I forget when... So I have a carpet that’s frickin dirty sadly, I live with my parents and my mom only ever vacuumed it and it’s dark and has a bunch of stains. I honestly don’t care about aesthetic part of the stains but I just want it to be clean. So I rent a carpet cleaner (rug doctor near me), vacuum the room, then I put cleaning solution in the carpet cleaner (I can get bissell with febreeze), use it on the room, then do it without solution and just water one more time. My dog got some sort of bug that gave him diarrhea and vomiting over the weekend. It came on when we weren't at home and left some "pleasant" messes all over my apartment. I have wall to wall carpet. I ran a steam cleaner over the problem areas, in some cases multiple times, but I have one or two areas where I'm still getting that sick smell. I assume this means it's gotten into the carpet pad, which unfortunately I can't pull up. I've done a pretreat with the Bissell pet pretreat (https://a.co/d/fc7q1AD), left it for an hour, and then run the cleaner, again with the Bissell pet pro carpet cleaner formula (https://a.co/d/3l70r6y). Right now I'm spraying with Nature's Miracle and letting it soak in to see if that does anything. But can anyone recommend or suggest anything else? ETA: Thanks everyone. Based on some of the posts here I'm gonna give the Nature's Miracle a day or two to do its work, then look into the other options people have suggested. I've had good luck with urine and vomit, but diarrhea is something else, especially because I wasn't able to tackle it "in the moment." Ugh. ETA2: Thanks again everyone! I bought the Nature's Miracle advanced foam and doused the carpet again. As of today the smell seems to be 99% gone.
