Looking for bras with wide bands, full coverage but designed for smaller cup sizes?

Where to shop for middle-age, plus size clothes in Lansing?
Hi all, and thanks for your help in advance! My mother-in-law (MIL) has asked that I take her clothes shopping for Christmas. After having spent the last few years caring for a sick relative and providing free childcare for her now school-age grandchildren, she is re-entering the workforce and is finding her current wardrobe lacking. She is middle-age, plus size, and looking to pick up some basic pieces: Casual shirts, pants, skirts, etc. New bras and supportive garments A few business casual items or items that could be dressed up for work. Not looking for professional or formal wear, since her new job is in a casual office setting Why I need recommendations: As a plus size woman in her 20s, I'm not sure if my typical go-to's in the area will carry what she's looking for. My MIL isn't very computer-savy, and is unsure of her current size in a lot of items. I'm not opposed to online shopping, but I'd ideally like to find a in-person store where she can try on a few things or get a feel for what she's looking for. I would love to use this opportunity to make her feel appreciated, so I'm willing to spend a fair amount of money. That said, my focus is more so picking up enough things to get her through the work week, rather than breaking the bank on two or three items. We're going to start the ball rolling by visiting some thrift shops in the area, but I've personally not had a lot of luck finding women's clothing in extended sizes while thrifting. All of this is to say if you've got recommendations for where a middle-age, plus size woman can shop in Lansing to find some basic wardrobe pieces without breaking the bank, I'd really appreciate it! submitted by /u/TabascoTortie1417 to r/lansing [link] [comments]

Plus Size Women, I am opening a store for us.
*********edit Still opening. Found a few nice places with silly landlords in Arcata and Eureka. Ended up in a small spot in Blue Lake with a wonderful landlord. The place is small so expanding size range below 14 isn't happening but I did include 14/16/1X. No shoes or accessories, no undies/bras, no men's. (I think that addresses the bulk of requests) We will be opening to the public 2/14. We are on Instagram if you're interested. We are WINTER'S REVOLT 🩷 Hi! Having been a faddie (fat baddie) all my adult life, I think we need a place just for us. I am curious to hear how out of the way would you travel to shop locally? If it's in Arcata? Eureka? Mckinleyville? In my experience, this would be more of a destination because there isn't another place to shop. Am I wrong? Thanks for any insight you can offer. If you can't get advice from reddit, where can ya? submitted by /u/Suspicious-Crystal to r/Humboldt [link] [comments]

Recommendations on bras for plus size women
Hey yall my mom is having a hard time finding a non wireless bra that offers side support. She has what she refers to a third boob on her right side it’s just extra fat that gets pushed up and squished in her current Bali Bras. She’s looking for something that will lock in that third boob comfortably without leaving marks. Any suggestions would be super helpful submitted by /u/stonedyenta to r/ABraThatFits [link] [comments]

Dresses with thicker straps or sleeves can also offer additional support and coverage. Flattering Silhouette: Different silhouettes can enhance different body types. A-line dresses are universally flattering, cinching at the waist and flowing loosely over the hips and thighs. Empire waist dresses emphasize the bust and skim over the stomach, while wrap dresses create a defined waistline. Consider your body shape and personal preferences when choosing a silhouette. Avoid heavy or restrictive materials like thick velvet or stiff brocade, particularly in warmer climates. Adaptable Design: An adaptable design allows for customization and personal expression. Look for dresses with removable belts, adjustable straps, or understated details that can be easily accessorized. This allows you to create a unique and personalized look that reflects your individual style. Strategic embellishments: Strategically placed embellishments can draw attention to your best features and create a balanced silhouette. Consider dresses with beading or lace detailing on the bodice to highlight your neckline or dresses with ruching at the waist to create a more defined shape. Why's There No Bamboo Viscose Active Wear For Plus Size Women?
I have been spending 2 hours wasting my time on trying to find Bamboo Viscose workout shorts or skorts, tank tops, workout bras, and socks all in at least 7 different colors, but, like, matching outfits. So that I can feel more comfortable working out in healthy materials that won't have dangerous microplastics and chemicals entering my body through my pores when I sweat. I am a size 3X in plus size women's with a 54" waist and average height. I'm trying to make changes to my lifestyle to take better care of my body small steps at a time, and I really don't want to waste money on polyester or nylon workout clothes because they don't absorb sweat well; they aren't very breathable for working out, and also I've heard that microplastics enters the body through them, especially when you workout because your pores expand to release sweat and whatever you're wearing gets into those pores and makes its way into the bloodstream. I don't want to be like that one woman who sadly passed away because of too much microplastics in my bloodstream. submitted by /u/Sad_Community_7900 to r/Activewear [link] [comments]

Seeking Advice for My Wife's Lingerie Journey, Plus Size, Breast Asymmetry & Confidence Boosters
Hey everyone! M41 here. My wife (F40) and I have been together since we were 15, and we’ve recently been rekindling our sex life after a busy few years of parenting and real life. It’s been amazing to reconnect on that deeper level, and we’re leaning into it with some lingerie shopping to help her feel sexy, confident, and desired—which she absolutely is. She’s about 5'4", 180 lbs, usually a size 14, wearing mostly XL with some success in plus-size pieces. One thing that’s been a consistent challenge is her breast asymmetry, she's around a 38C on one side and closer to an A on the other. Totally normal, and honestly, I think it's kind of the best of both worlds, but it really messes with her confidence sometimes when it comes to finding bras or sexy tops that fit and flatter. I’m trying to help her find options that she feels amazing in. So far, she’s really liked the Kix’ies thigh highs we ordered from Amazon, they stay up and give that playful vibe without digging in. She’s also loved a couple of the kimonos I picked up for her. I just got a short satin pink leopard print robe she hasn’t tried on yet, but I’m hopeful! The struggle has been more with sexy panties that don’t curl at the tummy or feel too matronly. We want something flattering and sexy. Bras are a tough one too. I recently found the Wacoal Shape Revelation Uneven Underwire Bra and I’m thinking of grabbing it for her to try. Looks like it’s designed with asymmetry in mind. Anyone here have experience with it? We’re open to any recommendations, places to shop, brands or styles that work well for plus-size or curvier women, or pieces specifically good for uneven breasts. If you've found something that made you feel amazing, I’d love to hear about it. And if it’s allowed in this group, I’d also be open to hearing your favorite bedroom toy suggestions, something fun she might enjoy that helps keep the spark going. Appreciate any advice you can share. I just want her to feel as sexy as I see her every day. submitted by /u/squawkingJAYHAWK to r/LingerieAddiction [link] [comments]

Facebook Begging to the extreme
I belong to a local Facebook group where people can list free items or request free items. I like to help out when I have something someone else can use. A lady posted recently and her post made her come across as the most entitled beggar I have ever seen. Apparently she had a medical event and is on bed rest recovering from surgery. She’s been unable to work and has medical bills, etc. She is unable to drive, which is understandable but apparently her husband won’t leave her home alone to come pick up. You must bring to her and she specified you must deliver to her front porch or garage! She let everyone know that she’s broke and life has gotten severely complicated so she’s asking anyone to please help. 🤔 I was ready to help her out by going through my bedding, pantry and toiletries before I started reading everything she was requesting and my eyes grew wide. Ready for the very detailed list? Pillows and queen size bedding, Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, toothpaste, mouthwash, baby powder, cotton balls, Q tips, toilet paper, wash cloths, towels, Dish soap, dish sponges, paper towels, disinfectant wipes and spray, magic erasers, large ankle brace, ace bandages, alcohol prep pads, bandages, ointment In desperate need of groceries but no canned foods except fruit please because she is “unable to eat it” 🙄🤣 Jello, pudding, pastries, angel food cake, simply shredded potatoes, organic whole milk, tomatoes, grapes, watermelon, bananas, cucumber, frozen carrots, hash brown potatoes, bread, Italian bread, potato rolls, hamburger buns, hot dog buns, frozen foods like lasagna, hot pockets, taquitos, mini tacos, chicken nuggets, pizzas, French fries, breaded chicken, burger patties, Mayo (no miracle whip), ketchup, ranch, honey mustard, lunch meats; ham, turkey, roast beef, cheeses; American, provolone, Swiss, Muenster, Gouda, single premade salad bowls, cranberry juice, lemonade, chocolate ensure plus Women’s large unused underwear, size large sports bras, women’s socks, size 9.5 women’s converse or Skechers type tennis shoes, shirts xl/xxl, pullover cotton dresses size large, pajamas with or without shorts, large size 12-15 shorts skirts or pajama shorts that are spandex, knit, cotton, stretchy, black long shoelaces-2 pair submitted by /u/No_Barracuda1660 to r/ChoosingBeggars [link] [comments]

Info for plus size riders
I hope this post helps folks avoid the shame I experienced yesterday, as for the first time in my life I had to get off a rollercoaster upon boarding because I didn't fit in the seat. After it happened, I then spent the entire day panicking that I wouldn't fit in the next one and looking at other older posts on here for guidance. It was supposed to be a fun day but tbh, I think I'm going to instead be thinking about what happened for a long time. For reference, I'm usually a size US women's 16/18 on the bottom and size women's large on top. I have thicker thighs and wider hips than the rest of my body, but I'm ultimately pretty much hourglass shaped. My upper body is smaller than my lower body but I am probably around size 38DD for bras. Here are some notes I took throughout the day about the rides I went on: Candymonium — No go, had to get off. The bar has to push down into your thighs/hips 3 times, mine only went once. Great Bear — Ask for the larger seat, row 5 closest to the gate. The staff was very accommodating! Tight but it was fine. It's a pull-down/secure over your shoulders and chest type. sooperdooperLooper — Lap bar style, totally fine. Jolly Rancher Remix — Didn't go on because they had a sign that specifically said it wouldn’t work for larger riders “due to seat configuration” and also didn't have a sample seat. Wasn't worth the additional humiliation. Storm Runner — There was a sign that says you may not fit if you're larger but I tried the test chair and it was the most spacious for my butt and hips out of all of them. This was my most comfortable ride (and it was a lot of fun). Wildcat's Revenge — They had to get the strong guy to push it lol but I was locked in. They had a sample chair out front. If you have super thick calves it would be very uncomfy for you. This was the most painful ride because the bar digs hard into your thighs but it was worth it imo. Laff Trak — No issues with this one. I didn’t feel too squished and felt secure. Had a wider butt area and you’re in a more squatted position, so locking in didn't really come in contact with my hips. It ended up storming so I didn't get to do all of the rides, but we did a good number of them. I love theme parks and will continue to go, but I don't think I'd choose Hershey again because of how few rides can accommodate plus size riders. It's a shame that the literal chocolate and sugar theme park has spent billions of dollars just to not have seats that accommodate most of the US visitors that will unknowingly enter and leave with the mental damage that I did. I'd simply rather go somewhere I can comfortably enjoy the rides, like Busch Gardens. But I will say the ADA accommodations at Hershey were pretty top notch, so that will also stick in my mind. Anyway, good luck to my fat bottom folks going to Hershey. I hope it's better day for you than it was for me! submitted by /u/BisonLeather8834 to r/Hersheypark [link] [comments]

Breast root changing in size? Plus a bit of venting if I'm allowed to about other women who mock anyone who says they're a 28 band size and instantly tell them they're wrong
First of all, are we allowed to vent? I'm a 28H, and I'm soooo tired of people telling me that I'm not a 28 band size when we've talked about bra sizes. They will laugh and say "that's for children hahaha. Omg. You're not a 28. I'm suupper petite and I'm a 34." I'm 5'6" and not skinny so I think this throws them too. I'm very curvy with a tiny waist--because hey small rib cage--but I don't wear form-fitting clothes too often so I can appear larger. I'm like: "Yeah, Becky, actually, I am a 28. There are people with tiny ribs out there. Even ChatGPT can read my whole-body CT and note that I have a very broad pelvis and--in comparison--much more "delicate" thoracic bones than the gen pop. It's caused health issues for me, so be quiet, Becky. Anyways, I had fairly narrow breast roots. I was doing well with the Freya Women's Daisy Lace Underwire Balcony Bra as my breasts end up being spaced apart a good bit, and the rounder style cups in some bras were not holding my breasts well. I describe my breasts like two half-footballs that are a bit more cylindrical in shape. I've been through a lot of physical changes over the past few years due to health issues--primarily weight *loss* and then regaining back to slightly below my original weight. My pituitary is affected which was causing some breast growth and swelling and tenderness--similar to puberty feeling. I don't get any changes during my period usually. I also had some weight loss/gain. I have noticed lately that my right breast which is slightly larger has had a line of irritation where the underwire is cutting in. I've been struggling to manage this and try to figure out what's causing this. I got a band expander to see if having my band much looser with the same bra would be helpful, but I'm starting to think that that C-shape of the underwire is too narrow for that specific breast. I was experimenting with different bras for a bit with plastic underwire vs metal, a bit of a different shape. Today, I'm wearing a Freya with cups that are large for me but the underwire C was a bit larger to try to check if having a wider C for the underwire will help. Does anyone have any advice for where to start with trying to troubleshoot why my underwire seems to be digging into my skin so much when it does this even when I have my bra band super loose--especially with it one side much more so than the other? I'm a bit concerned about rubbing that line of skin raw and creating issues. submitted by /u/Realistic_Ad6887 to r/ABraThatFits [link] [comments]

Need plus-size recommendations for bras & clothes + a recommended everything-fits-all backpack
Hi everyone. I’m currently on my first solo trip (12 days in the Philippines, woo!) and think I did a decent job getting the packing right. However, we can do better. Notably, the bulkiness and unnecessary weight I’ve dragged along as a first-timer. For reference: -height: 5’7 (170cm) -pants size: 22/24 -shirts: 2-3XL (varies from men to women’s shirts; I’ll get to that later) -bra size: 48DD The following needs some work: Bras: I don’t wear lined bras anymore but the ones I brought along from Torrid are just too bulky. What’s your recommendation for a sports bra for extended travel? Maybe something I could wear under a rash guard to also rid myself of the giant swimsuit I brought. Support and durability are the goal. Shirts/pants/shorts: I’m a photographer so walking/hiking/ is always on the list of things to do. I need recommendations for thinner/easier to pack clothing. I’ve researched this sub and many have recommended Columbia and Patagonia as they have plus-size options. I always hand wash my clothes unless my accommodation offers washing services. I’m looking to build a capsule wardrobe that’s durable, light, breathable, and ultimately, fits. I’m a very basic person so style and color variation don’t really matter. I mostly have men’s shirts but they are toooooo bulky and I feel like I’m lugging lumber around for no reason. Backpack: I brought a small Samsonite carry-on luggage and my Samsonite EDC backpack because I needed my laptop on this trip. I maxed out both and it’s just too much. What backpack would you recommend to go exclusively on my back? Something similar to The North Face Base Camp. I’m looking to free up my hands so I can better access to my camera. This sub has been great in teaching me how to better organize my things for packing. So the problem could just be that I’m a newbie and need to practice how to pack properly. submitted by /u/rivercreekbend to r/HerOneBag [link] [comments]

Plus size women of Reddit, where are you buying your underwear?
I'm a plus size woman and I'm having a hard time finding a place to buy cute underwear. I weigh about 210 lbs and I wear a size 16/18 in pants. I usually buy the packs of Fruit of the Loom or Hanes underwear from Walmart but I no longer want to wear those. I feel like they are not very cute or flattering on my body type. They looked ok on me when I was skinny but not at my current weight. So I was wondering, what stores are ya'll buying your underwear from? I'm mostly looking for affordable options. I don't mind spending a little more money than I usually would as long as they are good quality and they fit well. I would like to find some underwear that fits well around the butt and has enough fabric to cover the lady parts. Also, has anyone bought underwear from Victoria's Secret? I saw that they now sell plus size underwear and bras. If you have bought them, are they true to size and how do they fit? Are they worth the money? Thanks in advance for any suggestions ya'll may have. Edit: Thank you everyone for the responses!! I didn't expect to get so many. I really appreciate all the recommendations. I will definitely be checking out all these stores. Looks like I have some shopping to do!! submitted by /u/makeuponthebeach to r/beauty [link] [comments]

My mum refuses to buy me any bras and it really gets to me sometimes
edit: good morning, i just wanted to address a few things and say thankyou so much to everyone who is being so kind and sweet. I never knew so many other women experienced similar things in their families and i thank you guys so much for making me feel less alone about this all. dont feel like you have to read any of this, if you wish you can skip and go to the original post. I really appreciate everybody who has offered to buy me or send me some of their own bras, it means so much to me. I'm not sure if i should go through with it yet or not, It's definitely overwhelming for myself right now. I'm worried i'll feel guilty over this, especially since i'm getting a new job soon where i'll be more than capable of paying for my own. I know 50 dollars for a lot of people can seen quite pricey for a bra, but i have a larger chest and i found it's difficult to find decently priced bras in my size. Honestly i don't know if i just havent looked well enough but before this post i was under the impression that 50 dollars was cheaper for a bra for myself, when i was buying that one there were others also in my side closer and sometimes over the 100 dollar mark, so i didnt even question it. In saying that i havent tried even looking for bras since then simply because i have had no money in my account and i don't get given any money from my parents. One of my friends also with a larger chest has spent hundreds on bras, I don't think any of hers were less than 40. To explain my family and money situation as i've had a number of questions. I quit maccas after working there for 6 months back in january. I quit because i was having extreme mental health issues that left me struggling to do many things, alongside a bunch of extreme insecurities and such which just really impacted how i worked in my day to day life. When i did work, my mother had my account saved to her phone and had access to it so she could use it as she pleases. My stepdad did not have access although our family's money situation makes it so my mum controls his accounts too (although this was because he is an addict and spent A LOT of money for our family on drugs and alcohol). I was making around 100 dollars a week at mcdonalds, and my mother would often use this money things such as petrol, school lunches for my younger siblings, or some groceries. This left me very often with less than 2 dollars in the account as she used it all on family needs. I was never able to save as my account was constantly drained for these things. i absolutely do not blame my mother for this at all, I completely understand her need for my money. My family especially in the recent years has been struggling quite a lot with money, so it makes sense that she'd use my money for this reason I am now starting my job in about a weeks time. I do actually have a new bank account, which i made over a week back before i went job searching. My parents don't know about the new account yet but theyre bound to find out anyways, I will not give them my details for it. I am getting paid more and I'm working more hours, plus i wont have money taken from me so i am very eager to spend my first pay or maybe even my first few on bras and underwear, and now thanks to you guys I think i'll also buy myself a diva cup. I'm super sorry for such a long update, I just felt like i should explain a lot of things which many people are questioning, and thank you guys for being so sweet. original post She has bought me 2 bras when i was 12, i wore these for years until i got a job at mcdonalds and bought my own last year. I'm almost 17, i have a single bra i bought for 50 bucks, i have to wear it pretty much every day just because my mum refuses to buy me anything else. I quit maccas months ago, and even then i barely got paid so i couldnt afford a second one. I feel so shit, the wire of the bra is also poking through now, and i have to push it back into place frequently because i literally have nothing else i can do. At this point it's so worn down and messed up that it's just saddening for me, and i think it's taking a big toll on how i view myself. Like i'm so insecure about my chest and my body i just feel constantly ashamed, i'm always thinking about how i'm perceived in public and although i'm not entirely blaming this on my mum i think she is a part of why i feel this way. She does the same thing about buying pads, she gets the exact same ones she got me when i was fucking 10.. theyre so thin and small i honestly just use them as liners, and use hers as normal pads. I'm ashamed of my puberty and i just wish i could be entirely different, I hate myself. On the bright side, I'm starting my new job soon with my first shift being next sunday. I'm excited about spending my first pay entirely on new, better bras for myself, maybe then i can feel a bit better about myself yk, Sorry for the big rant submitted by /u/buggyface- to r/TrueOffMyChest [link] [comments]

Just saw an ad on YouTube for a bra company that caters to women with smaller cup sizes. The implication in the ad being that it's impossible to find bras that fit smaller chests. I find things to be the complete opposite. I can never find bras that fit larger cup sizes in store, what do you think?
Every time I look for bras there are a million a b c, and then nothing else. I genuinely find it shocking when I can get a bra that fits in person. This ad has just made me wonder, if I can't find any that fit, and women with the small cup sizes can't fit, who DO they fit? All the bras that I find in store are made for plus size women or older women and I'm neither of those. There is no shaming in any of this just curiosity. Tell me some of your experiences with bra shopping. submitted by /u/Wifeofwes to r/TwoXChromosomes [link] [comments]

Plus-Sized Women Travelers - What's the most important thing in your one bag?
I am a plus-sized, pear shaped, woman who loves to backpack in far-flung places. I am wondering if any other ladies like me have suggestions specific to a plus-sized body type? For example, I swear by Knix brand slip shorts, which are super lightweight and airy, and prevent "chub rub" when worn under sundresses! submitted by /u/PNWcouchpotato to r/HerOneBag [link] [comments]
