Sorry this isn’t a girl dinner, it’s a girl breakfast. Happy birthday to me. I went out on Sunday and got 2 slices of cake for my husband and I to split today on my birthday. I just got home from teaching my Pilates classes and found he ate his slice without me. He doesn’t understand why I’m upset because he left my slice alone. 2 weeks ago was his birthday and I ordered his cake ahead of time and made homemade matcha ice cream to have with the cake. This just happened to my wife and I. We thought we'd try out a new place restaurant called June ("it's always summer here") as we have a nice day trip planned for the rest of the day. We arrived at around 11.30 and ask if they're still selling breakfast as we wanted to try their Breakfast Protein Bowl. The answer is no as they don't sell breakfast after a certain time. It feels like it should be available as a brunch option but I get it, we'll come earlier next time. So we take the menu and select something else, the Shakshuka. When the waiter comes over to take our order, we try to order it but we're informed that Lunch service doesn't start until 12. Bear in mind this is some casual dining place at a mall, not a fancy restaurant. So I ask "You don't sell breakfast or lunch". He nods. "Then I guess we'll go as your restaurant isn't open". He tried to make excuses but I said "No, you're just wasting people's time". It was just so baffling. Why did he even try to take our order lol. EDIT: So we did pass the restaurant again about 30 minutes later, it was absolutely packed. So I wonder whether they just don't get many breakfast customers and they have to prepare heavily for the lunc rush on a saturday and that's why the kitchen is shut from at least 11:30 to 12:00. Some have asked if it's clearly labelled anyway but I didn't see any signs about this and menu said nothing about this either. This was my first Christmas with my mom’s new boyfriend. She invited his entire immediate family on top of the family we already had coming, so there were about 20 people total. My mom woke me up at 6 a.m. and asked me to make breakfast about 30 minutes before everyone arrived because she still needed to get ready. She also hadn’t gone grocery shopping, so I had to work with whatever was already in the fridge. I genuinely did the best I could and spent the morning cooking and setting things up. While people were eating, my mom’s boyfriend’s mom commented that we were cheap for not using eggs and called the food “low effort.” Instead of explaining that we didn’t have any, my mom got upset and yelled at me in front of everyone, asking why I didn’t make eggs and saying I never do anything right. I didn’t argue or say anything. I just left the room. Hello, I'm starting a new job soon that will require me to be in the office 8 hours a day. My goal is to bring breakfast and lunch. I have plenty of ideas for lunch, but could use some for breakfast. My standard go-to is breakfast burritos or sandwiches, but I want some more ideas. Ideally, high protein, low fat; can be frozen and also left in the fridge for 2-3 days just fine. As I only want to bring food once or twice a week, rather than hauling every day. My (36F) husband (37M) and I and our 4 kids (14, 13, 11, 9) are in a hotel for a 5 day stay. It’s been a long couple days, so we didn’t want to wake anyone up super early, but planned to go down to breakfast (that ends at 9:30), at 8:30. My husband set an alarm, but was the only one who woke up. Instead of waking anyone up, he went down to breakfast alone. At 9:30 he woke everyone up by saying we had missed breakfast. I asked him why he didn’t wake anyone up, and he said it’s not his fault everyone else slept through the alarm. Our daughter (11) said that she woke up at 8, but he was still asleep. I’m having a hard time believing she would have slept through the 8:15 alarm. I don’t know exactly how it happened, but I’m supremely irritated. When I suggested we order in breakfast, he got pissed off because there’s a free breakfast that we all neglected to get up for. We had 2 muffins, some grapes, and orange juice left over, so they at least had a snack to eat, but he didn’t even bring up more muffins. Now he’s playing it off as a joke, and is treating me like I’m overreacting and am responsible for the whole thing. Thoughts? … Editing for more information to answer some questions: He agreed to set the alarm and wake us up. He doesn’t like me setting one because I usually set multiple so I can wake up gradually. I take a little while to get up, (I have chronic fatigue syndrome) but it’s not excessive. We’re not on vacation. This is a medical trip for our kid with a sleep disorder (ironically enough). We’re staying a couple extra days because our daughter has an event in the same city. I made sure the kids had a snack and we agreed to have an early lunch. It wasn’t ideal, but I was weighing the options of him being an asshole over an expensive breakfast bill, or waiting a couple hours to eat. Second edit: I’m getting rid of a bunch of the information here because I’m getting even more criticism from both sides for it and I’m realizing that I don’t owe y’all my life story. I’m a terrible mother for not leaving, and I’m a terrible wife for complaining. Some of you just need to admit you hate women and get it over with.
