Business Casual: what is it, and how can I get it?
Hi guys, I’m in the running for a job right now (third and final interview went well!) but after attending the on-site interview, it’s clear that they follow a business casual dress code. Unfortunately, every job I’ve had until now either had a uniform or was VERY casual - like “hoodies and jeans” casual. I want to improve my wardrobe but I’m feeling a bit lost and overwhelmed trying to figure it out. I’m 6’2”, male, early 30s, and based in the US. Could anyone provide some favorite stores (or even easy guides) to help set me in the right direction? Thanks in advance - honestly, it feels embarrassing to be this old and not know the answers already. submitted by /u/WhiskaLifa to r/malefashionadvice [link] [comments]

Hot Take: Rhea Ripley should be the face of this generation. Not Cody, not Breakker, not Oba. Rhea.
Rhea already has a Hall Of Fame career and she's not even 30 yet. World and tag championships, Royal Rumble, the first NXT UK champion, etc. At this moment she is an established superstar already, but fans should recognize that she is at the same level as Stone Cold, Cena, Roman or Hogan in their respectives eras. Not now, bc how do we like to complain huh? But in a few years. Even the WWE itself, if they were a bit less misogynistic should recognize her. If wrestling is mainstream right now again is bc Rhea's influence. Most of the new and casuals fans are here for her, but also hardcore fans are happy to see her. I really like Cody as the face of the company right now, but I think Rhea is the one who can carry the company for future years. I know she have haters, people calling her overrated or Rhea "Hogan" but she has grow so organic that not much people realize (I guess). While WWE is trying to put over young men talents like Breakker, Oba Femi, Dominik or even Austin Theory (I hope) I think they don't really put attention of how big Rhea really is. IN RING SKILL ✅️ She's not like Iyo, Vaquer, Dragunov, Gunther, Rollins or Styles, but definitely is one of the top 15 most skilled wrestlers in the company rn. Her powerhouse style is easy to follow plus the psychology she puts during her matches are great. Also she is a great seller, just look any DDT of her. MICRO ✅️ The thing I consider is her lowest point, but she definitely can cut promos and her catchphrases works. Gimmick ✅️ at this point almost no one compare her with Chyna. Her presence or "aura" since her theme song starts is the prove and everywhere and everyone gets mad when she appear. She is a better heel but people love her so much that is almost impossible to hate her and always ends as babyface (which I think is great tho). Memorable matches and feuds ✅️ I know everyone was tired of the Rhea vs Liv in 2024, but now Liv is one of her best rivals. Iyo vs Bianca vs Rhea at WM last year, Iyo's feud when every match was awesome and it finished in Evolution plus NXT matches, without to mention her matches with Charlotte at Wrestlemania, the last woman standing with Raquel in NXT, and people should remember her feud with Shayna Bazler in NXT. Young talent ✅️ One point that IWC complains ultimately for wrestlers like Cody, Roman, Gunther, Becky, Charlotte or Asuka who are almost or above 40. Well, Rhea is 29 yo. She was 24 when she won the RAW championship, 22 with the NXT championship. As I said, a Hall of Fame career already, and she still have a lot of time to prove why she is one of the best of the business. Anyway, Rhea Ripley rocks! submitted by /u/GusVato616 to r/SantiZapVideos [link] [comments]

Men: How do you expect women to dress on a first coffee or casual lunch/ dinner date?
I haven't dated in a while, and even when I did I wasn't into plunging necklines or fancy manicures. My going-out wardrobe is limited to what I might wear to a casual business event - attractive, feminine, but tasteful. I don't wear short skirts anymore because arthritis has swollen my knees to wrinkled cantalopes. I also can't wear heels or narrow-toed shoes, and have had to embrace the boxy loafer style in winter, as much as I hate it. I mainly wear jeans and a v-neck top or sweater with extra effort on my hair, makeup and jewelry. Or, I might wear black pants, or a long skirt with knee high boots. Just wondering how men my age might feel about my not showing more skin? submitted by /u/No-Judgment6987 to r/datingoverfifty [link] [comments]

Back in the Office After 10 Years – Building a Business Casual Wardrobe
Starting a new job next week after a decade working in film and TV. First time back in a proper office, so I’m building a winter business casual wardrobe from scratch. The branch manager gave me a few pointers: • Shoes “should be easy to slip on/off” for viewings and inspections; he wears RM Williams Chelsea boots (similar to Red Wings, not cheap). • Prefers chinos; both days I’ve seen him, he had a quarter-zip over a check shirt. • He’s not keen on jeans unless they don’t really look like jeans (his words). I wore black Nudie jeans to our contract meeting and they passed, but I’ll probably hold off on other denim until I get a better feel for things. • Doesn’t want the team looking too formal either; we deal with landlords and tenants, many of whom are under financial pressure. One of the sales guys was wearing designer trainers, a long wool coat, and scarf on day one, and a Burberry suit the next; so it seems like there’s room to show some personal style. I’d rather build my wardrobe around smart trainers if possible. It’s winter here (NZ), so layering is essential. I hit the outlet store yesterday and picked up: Picked up yesterday: • Houndstooth sports blazer • 100% wool checked suit pants (shown) • Black merino crew neck • Beige cotton crew neck • Organic white tee • Clarks Tor Run trainers What I already had: • 3 pairs of pants (2 dress, 1 dress denim) • 2 chinos (La Paz and Carhartt WIP — both might be too casual; see changing room pic with Carhartt + Reebok Club C 85) • 2 long-sleeve Polo Ralph collared shirts • 2 patterned short-sleeve shirts (usually wear these on dates, not sure if office-appropriate) • Polo Ralph Harrington jacket • Polo Jeans college jacket • Light brown Tommy Hilfiger puffer vest • Black Lacoste polo (shown) • Veja smart trainers + Reebok Club C 85 + New Balance 998 • Full navy suit and white dress shirt (too formal for daily wear) • Black derbies and brown oxfords (also too formal day-to-day) Trying to keep it sharp but comfortable, with a bit of designer edge. Open to thoughts on refining this into a clean winter rotation that won’t raise eyebrows. Some outfit ideas and inspo board attached. submitted by /u/Dapht1 to r/mensfashionadvice [link] [comments]

Business Casual and it’s consequences have been a disaster for the human race
We’re at dress sneakers at this point. We may soon have “dress sweatshirts” and “dress yoga pants.” Men look so much better in a well-fitted suit than near anything else, it’s a shame that we almost never get to wear them. submitted by /u/CincyAnarchy to r/rs_x [link] [comments]

Business Casual: Its all the same…
So I need more business casual looks (for work), but for a guy. We are generally very limited. I end up just having the same look, but in different colors lol. Tops: Regular Dress Short, Short Sleeve Button Up, Polo Bottoms: Slacks/Chinos Footwear: Desert Boots (Brown and Black) Accessories: Brown and Black Belt and Watch to match Colder weather: Trench coat, Harrington Jacket, Quarter Zip Thats pretty much it You can have tops in different patterns, but honestly a lot of patterns look ugly. I just use white or light blue, for quarter zip literally same colors too Gray, Navy. If changing shoes, look literally the same. submitted by /u/Scary_Examination_26 to r/malefashionadvice [link] [comments]

Why do men ask for casual and then get insecure when you honor that?
I'm in a happy relationship now but have been reflecting on some of my dating experiences -- discussing too some of these common themes with friends. Over the winter I was on a dating app -- granted the area I was in was quite blue collar, so to speak, so I stood out quite a bit. I got a lot of attention for my appearance and thinness. I matched with a much older guy. We saw each other a few times and I enjoyed his company and exploring new places with him, although because he was divorcing he was usually quite busy with his kids. He springs it on me one day while we're lying in bed that he didn't want a girlfriend (despite it being listed on his profile that he sought long-term commitment). Since I'd just moved to the area and didn't see him as a serious prospect, either, due to the age difference, I agreed to keep things light and casual. Things went on for a while this way -- I wouldn't reach out, only respond if he contacted me and was available since I knew he was busy with his businesses and kids. He asked me to cook him dinner, which was kind of a weird thing to expect but I did it and we had a nice evening. Once I couldn't meet with him and he sent an angry text accusing me of playing games. He went ghost for a while "to think about things" then re-emerged as if nothing happened asking to take me out. Odd, but fine for a few more weeks But as time went on, he'd start making all of these digs at me -- asking me if I was seeing other men, telling me "you must get a lot of attention," mentioned that a woman he was chatting with on the apps had seen us out and "she said you looked more into me than I am into you," and finally saying my profile pics didn't look like me (which is a stupid comment because none of my pictures even show my face; they're artistic shots, from the back, in clothes, and my weight is the exact same as it was when they were taken; no special angles or exposed skin etc). He asked to see my family on my phone and I genuinely don't keep pictures of family on my phone, which upset him. I finally confronted him about the micro aggressions and he completely spiraled, went silent for two days, and then ended things. I asked him why and he told me that we weren't emotionally connecting, and I asked him why an emotional connection was necessary for a casual relationship. He said things weren't really the same for him after he found out I was seeing other men. But he is seeing other women?? I asked him why he was insulting my appearance towards the end and he said, "I'm not sure. I guess I didn't feel worthy?" The hell? Why are you angering over something you wanted and requested to be casual! I didn't ask for that! You did! My friends have all had similar experiences with men who broach casual then become super resentful, mean, clingy, and weird once they learn you're keeping it casual. Why ask for casual if you're demanding she be faithful to you? It's so frustrating and weird. And then instead of just ending things or asking for exclusivity, they try to neg you into feeling as crummy as they do? Can someone please explain this thought process to me? Seriously, what did I do wrong to deserve being treated so terribly when I was kind to him and considerate of his need for space, which he claimed to want? I have a feeling if I'd been some young woman blowing up his phone every twenty seconds begging to be chosen, he wouldn't have liked that either, beyond the boost to his ego. submitted by /u/No_Situation_7235 to r/AskWomenNoCensor [link] [comments]

Why the fuck are women expected to work on their period?
I’m sitting here at work keeled over in intense pain wearing a fucking diaper because my uterus is self destructing and I’m expected to wear tight business casual pants, be friendly to coworkers, AND do my work? Fuck this fucking sexist misogynistic society that tells women to suffer through several days of intense pain and act completely normally. I shouldn’t have to take a sick day every month and be looked at like a slacker because my body is losing a gallon of blood and tissue a day. EDIT: Just wanted to say thank you for the awards and for those of you who expressed your support. I got a lot of good advice on how to deal with my endometriosis and I am looking into intermittent FMLA. I want to clarify that absolutely NO ONE was saying every single working woman should get a week of paid leave each month. I just wanted to vent about my particular experience, which is that I work in a business setting where I only get 5 sick days per year (not even enough for one day a month) and the norm in corporate is to not use them or be considered a “slacker.” Not to mention I have a male boss and it’s awkward having to say I’m “sick” every month at the same time. It would be great if we could have better labor laws that protect anyone with disabilities or chronic pain. As many pointed out, other countries offer more PTO and some even give women menstrual leave. I just wanted to create a dialogue about something that many women deal with. And to all of you saying that women should stop complaining or get paid less - I hope you never have to deal with a debilitating condition and be told to suck it up. Lastly, if you were one of the many men who DM’ed me just to harass me, I pray you learn to respect women’s experiences and seek help for your obvious mental illnesses. Thanks everyone for coming to my TedTalk! 😜 submitted by /u/Both-Revenue-4557 to r/Vent [link] [comments]

Business casual event (which one?)
I usually wear more hoodies, sweaters and bombers this time of year so this is outside of comfort zone. If there is anything glaring that can be fixed let me know (also imagine that the clothes have been steamed i know it wrinkled). submitted by /u/TyranticMonkeyyy to r/mensfashion [link] [comments]

Thanks for all the advice last time! More business casual looks!
Currently only own 1 pair of navy dress pants. Gonna get a pair of gray ones and maybe a strip shirt and a pair of low-key white sneaker? Any other recommendations for more business casual looks? submitted by /u/PerspectiveEvening56 to r/mensfashion [link] [comments]

Someone tried to stop me from using the women's bathroom because they mistake me for a guy.
This happened when I finally had the nerve to try a pixie-cut hairstyle. I was really happy about it because it felt like me. I will admit that when I shop for clothes, I do not care for gender norms. For example, I bought a man's Hawaiian shirt because it felt breezy to me, and I really liked its fabric. So, on to the story. I was in the in the mall with my then-boyfriend and went straight for the women's bathroom as usual. There was no one there except for a woman putting on makeup. I went inside and was almost close to one of the stalls when said lady quickly approached me with makeup tools still in hand and said, "Isn't this comfort room for women only?" And I was confused, like, "Yeah?" because there's obviously a big sign out there. But then, I realized she was staring intently at my chest as if trying to determine if I'm really a girl or some guy entering a woman's bathroom. And I really don't understand why she'd think of the latter because I was wearing short-shorts with leggings. Sure, I was wearing the breezy men's Hawaiian shirt but it was unbuttoned and loose to reveal a tight black tank top underneath. Like, that's definitely feminine. The whole situation felt so ridiculous to me that I made eye contact, pointed in the direction of my shorts with both hands, and casually asked, "Wanna check?" If she's gonna make this weird, I'm gonna make it weirder. Wanna enter a stall with me and have a peek? Sure why not? We're both women (sarcastically) I like to think the silence that followed made her realize who was being a creep because she backed out immediately and said no. I finally did my business in the stall, and while I was washing my hands, she apologized, and I told her it was no big deal. But I have to apologize to the trans people out there who get treated like that when they're just minding their own business. Edit: Wow, I never realize this would blow up. And reading the comments, I wanted to believe in good faith she learned her lesson but maybe you're all right that she wasn't sorry she harrassed me and more sorry that she harrassed the wrong person. One of the comments gave me a helpful tip on what to say next time. Thanks. Edit 2: Hehe, some people have clocked in which country I am. Didn't know other countries don't use that term. Edit 3: To all the other people saying transphobic bull in the comments, knock it off. Trans women are women. submitted by /u/SunbathingNapCat to r/traumatizeThemBack [link] [comments]

Thoughts on Business Casual?

Advice on business casual fits?
Secured a government position job and the attire is business casual. This is, obviously, an amazing opportunity and I want to make sure I look professional but not over dressed. I saw men wearing nice polos w/ or w/o a blazer and jeans, and women were wearing flow-y shirts and slacks or nice jackets over jeans. Any advice is welcome, believe it or not there are 3 different types of black slacks and 3 different shoes here. I realize some shirts are a tad bit outdated, I’m a thrifter and trying to incorporate what I have without spending too much on new clothes. Will likely wear nice jeans after I get a better idea on what the women wear as I only been to the location once. Buying new bottoms will probably be my next step but I promise they all look identifiably different in person haha. Thank you in advance! I apologize too if I’m clueless in what business casual really is. submitted by /u/psychdarling to r/OUTFITS [link] [comments]

A group of Japanese women have submitted a petition to the government to protest against what they say is a de facto requirement for female staff to wear high heels at work. Others also urged that dress codes such as the near-ubiquitous business suits for men be loosened in the Japanese workplace.
